Searching for: Ultrawide to replace triple displays Price Range: <$1100USD before tax I am looking to upgrade my sim rig display to something better than my current Samsung Odyssey G5. I used to have triples (all G5s), but one was broken in a move and I didn't have the money to get a new one at the time. Instead of getting another one now, I plan on just going the ultrawide route. Triples are awesome, but the G5 is not. I find that the blurring and ghosting on dark/bright backgrounds is sickening and the setup/constant maintenance of a triple setup, I would just rather go with an ultrawide. Now, I know the best thing out there in terms of size and reviews is the G9. I would love to go with one of these, but the Neo is way outta my price range (<$1100) and the G9 OLED is kind of pushing it at times. HOWEVER, the G9 (standard? VA? idk...) is usually around $900 and that would be amazing, but I know they go even better secondhand. My question on this display is, what is the ghosting/blur like? I know how much it sucks on my G5 and it takes me completely out of the experience. Any advice here is greatly appreciated as I don't want to buy something and just hate it, again...

Hey guys. I have an Odyssey G8 I use for gaming. I have recently got a triple screen dedicated setup for my sim racing setup and tried to do a 1.4DP Bi directional switch to go from desktop to sim rig. In theory this should work fine but for some reason I can’t get the switches to work with my G8 without causing unbearable flickering and black screens. I’ve tried two different switches, the shortest 16K DP cables (1.5ft and 1.5 for the G8) and can’t get it to work right. The other monitors are Acer 32” 2K. The Acer works just fine when I switch power to it. The switch is rated for 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz. Is there something maybe i haven’t tried that would work? I’ve tried lowering refresh rate to 120 on display settings. Thanks for your time.

Budget (including currency): $900 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Dedicated Assetto Corsa, maybe Competizione. No interest in anything but racing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): - FB marketplace for Quest 2, (~ $175), Logitech G29 (~$150) - Specifically chose I3-12100f for single core performance as AC doesn't benefit from multi-thread, and I have seen some excellent deals recently. - Specifically looking for GPU suggestions. Used options nearby have been as good as 5700xt for $150, 6600 for $150, 6600xt for $200. - Also want to use the Thermaltake Core V21 because it will fit in an Ikea Kallax shelf I have in the basement. Coming from the perspective that I've been a Vive user for the past 2 years plus, I've always enjoyed it. Except for the wires. So if you look back into my post history, you'll see that I am at a gigantic turning point for my existence in the tech sphere. I am upgrading from a 1080/7700/16GB Alienware prebuild to a 3080FTW3, 5600X and 32GB of RAM. I figured that since I was making such a leap with my computer, I might as well make a leap in my VR headset as well. I'm really looking for a wireless experience with higher fidelity than the Vive offers. So the Quest 2 ticks the boxes. I just have questions about the performance. I play Assetto Corsa, AMS2, ACC, etc. And while my rig will be more than capable of pushing out the pixels at 60fps in pancake mode, I'm quite concerned about the VR aspect. I already struggle to get 50+fps in AC in the Vive on track by myself with a borrowed 3070 so what should I expect with my new system should I choose to purchase the Quest 2? I run Sol, CSP, etc on AC just to be perfectly clear. (Edit:) I also would love to know if the headset has the terrible god rays that the Vive's lenses have. Y'all were VERY helpful last time so I can't wait for a response

I would really like some feedback! This is my set up, the first 2 are my "work setup". I work from home about half of the time, I do graphic design and account management. The second 2 are my sim racing setup, which is the same space but "transformed" into a sim rig. We just moved into our fist home, in our apartment, the fold away cockpit was a necessity due to space. Now that I have a full office I can fit a standalone rig in there. But for now and for the foreseeable future this accomplishes everything I need and take minutes to set up. Plus it is unique, it took a lot of thought and trial and error to get everything just right. Here are the details: PC CPU: Ryzen 5800x GPU: 3070 Founders Edition Custom DBZ Displate GPU rgb Cover Ram: 32 gigs of 3200 mhz cl16 from Corsair 1 TB NVME Samsung Evo SSD (primary) 1 TB Samsung SSD (secondary) 750 Watt Corsair PSU CORSAIR - iCUE H100 Dual 120 mm AIO CORSAIR - iCUE SP120 RGB PRO 120mm with command pro node Case is a Corsair 5000D Accessories Keyboard: Logitech G915 Lightspeed Wireless Mouse: Logitech GPro Wireless Headphones: Logitech GPro Wireless Speakers: Logitech Z533 Microphone: HyperX Quadcast S LTT Mousepad, duh Monitors: Samsung CRG9 49 inch Ultrawide connected to an Amazon Basics Monitor Arm (If you need a heavy duty monitor arm and can find one of these BUY IT, it works just as well as the big name heavy duty arms and costs 1/3 the price) LG 34 Inch Ultrawide 34WP65 connected to a no name monitor arm from amazon Sim Rig Wheel Base: Fanatec CSL DD with Boost Kit (8NM) Wheel: Fanatec R330 Wheel with Clubsport Universal Hub Pedals: Thrustmaster TLCM Load Cell Pedals Rig: Playseat Challenge with Lowdown Shifters Direct Driver wheel deck stabilizing system, Lowdown shifters pedal plate angle system. Budget (including currency): $1750-$2250 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Sim Racing, VR, Music and Video Production, Potentially Streaming, major releases in the future Other details Here is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lalna_Rocks/saved/83KQD3 The reason why I'd like to upgrade is my PC is starting to show her age in terms of performance on new games and some old ones with intensive mods (such as sol weather and dynamic lights in Asetto Corsa). I'd also like to get into VR but I'm a bit afraid I would be over stressing my current rig. I have been out the parts scene for a few years now so I have no clue about what the best parts would be for what I need. Thanks in advance.

Im in search of a steering wheel and pedals for sim racing. I don't have a cockpit and such as I'm wanting to use my desk as a mount and and place the pedals on the floor. Im looking at either the Thrustmaster TS-PC with the Thrustmaster T3PA-PRO 3 Pedal Add-On Pedal Set or a Fanatec setup, however Fanatec looks to have the better pedals for me, the Thrustmaster TS-PC looks to be the better base and wheel, and a wheel I'm pretty sure i could be better. Im pretty sure that at a later date, id mod the TS-PC wheel to include the Sim Display F1 LED layout, not the present PCU-8D layout for the V6 Hybrids but the old PCU-6D for the old V8s as i don't need a whole load of ERS Bull in front of me. Thats i you know what I'm talking about, if you are into F1 Tech like i am, you will know what I'm on about. Can someone school me and give me some pointers on what would be the best for my needs. Thanks.

Hello everyone, as a former Playstaytion Gamer I want to build my first PC, but my money and knowledge is limited. (as an engineering student I currently work at 450€ a month) Next thing is I don't even have peripherals yet so I'm open for every option. 1080p gaming with mid to high settings is enough for me (at the moment!). This Rig is not thought to be top of the line I want to use it mostly to play racing simulators with a steering wheel, first on one screen later maybe on three so a bit upgradeability should be given. And I don't want to buy new parts every year so I hope this is enough for a decent PC. Behind every product I'll tell you my thougts so you understand why i chose those products. I have absolutely no idea how to choose a motherboard so I hope you can help me with this. Please explain me why you changed some parts (I want to learn something) Price between 450 to 650€ please note i need peripherals too BTW I'm open to older Products and used ones as well CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ SuperBiiz) Linus told me this one is enough for gaming CPU Cooler: CRYORIG M9i 48.4 CFM CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg Marketplace) Had good recommendations Memory: Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($46.97 @ Jet) only one Stick to upgrade in the future (if 4 GB is enough tell me) Storage: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Jet) ssd is a must have for every new pc 128gb would be ok too but the pricing was not much different Storage: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($67.88 @ OutletPC) at least 1TB but for 20€ more i got 2 so I got that going which is nice (1tb would be ok too) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB OC Edition Video Card ($149.99 @ SuperBiiz) a good gpu I think Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Blue) ATX Mid Tower Case ($66.99 @ SuperBiiz) looks cool in my opinion (case should have a window) Power Supply: EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($38.49 @ SuperBiiz) psu from a good brand and 450W should be more than enough Total: $645.29 Thanks in advance Felix

Hi there, So I've been doing some research for a while, and NVidia, for years, still has not enabled Surround to work with mixed resolution displays. In the end, I'm ok with that. Running my racing sims on my central 35" ultrawide is still a pretty good experience, but I'd love to get it running on all three of my monitors (2 27" side monitors, plus the ultrawide for a total resolution of 8560x1440). Does anyone know if someone has made a utility to make this work, or if someone has released some hacked drivers or a workaround of any fashion?

What's better? I've been looking for a racing wheel, and would like to know what would be a good option. I've narrowed it down to the Logitech G920 and Thrustmaster TMX. Each are $200 on Amazon, but I'd like to know what is the better wheel. Please feel free to recommend something else if you have a better option.

the brake is the clutch because I remapped them (the one that only gets to 1 bar when fully pressed down) won't fully activate or work if that mwakes sense. the clutch is mapped as the brake. Basically the clutch (when pressed down fully wont work because it isn't maxing out.) Desktop 2018.10.07 - 19.25.34.02.mp4

I'm trying to get started in Sim racing but I don't have a big budget. I was planning to buy a G29 but then the Covid prices hit. Anyone have any recommendations for a budget friendly wheel? Also I was look at used T300s and TXs and want to now the difference and if it's worth it over Logitech's offerings.

---------------------------------------------- Just found this job advert on a Danish recruitment site So it seems they are moving into new areas when it comes to hardware. Though I am not able to find anything on their own website, but the recruitment site does seem to be legit. Seems interesting because I remember visiting the Asetek factory a very long time ago (before AIO was a thing), also because I live pretty close to their headquarter In Aalborg - Denmark. Also Sorry for the link In danish, but it should be possible to get a understandable translation from google. Sources https://sensu.dk/jobs/ledige-stillinger/it/asetek-hardwareudvikler-til-sim-racing

So I am an avid sim racer. I do sim racing games like iracing, but lately my pc has been slacking off ALOT. I unfortunately learned the hard way that prebuilt pcs are pretty damn bad (sometimes). My now pc is a Ryzen 3 2200g, and RX 550 (yes ik that is horrible), but! I hopefully can bring some good news! My cousin is lending over his pc that has the classic i7 2600 cpu, and a RX 580 8gb gpu. My main concern for this is bottlenecking, and that the cpu wont live up to cpu intensive sim racing games like Rfactor2 (which ive been wanting for years now), and iRacing (less cpu intensive, but cpu does matter on the performance for the sim) so if i could get a possible guesstimate on what i can expect with these specs? I have been watching alot of benchmarks with these specs, and for medium/high settings it seems to perform well, but again. Rfactor2 is very CPU intensive and i am worried that the cpu will lack and not live up to its name, and cause stutters, and other complications. Any help is great!

Hi, I am planning on putting together a sim racing rig to supplement my existing setup. I currently mount my wheel to my desk and use the 3 monitors I use for all other games. I am looking to get 3 more monitors for the sim rig, I want to use my existing gaming pc for both setups. I'm not really interested in VR currently but I see that it would make this simpler. Is there a way I can connect all monitors to my pc without constantly removing cables? Thanks. Specs: Cpu: Intel 4790k Mobo: maximus vi ranger GPU: Asus gtx 1080

Ok, I'm looking for a racing wheel setup to run with my new Oculus rift, which honestly I wasn't the biggest fan of racing Sims until I got a VR headset and it makes all the difference, especially since I love driving irl. So my question, I have an old Xbox 360 racing wheel, the wireless one with force feedback, is it worth it upgrading to a 100-150 dollar wheel or will the old throwback hold up well to saving up for something beefier. I do plan on building a racing sled when I move places here in a month, have an old Cooper bucket seat that I can bolt onto a 2x4 setup. Irl I'm a manual fanatic so I'd love something with a stick shift but I'm not looking to spend 500+ on a setup. Tldr: sorry for the wall of text, just looking for good, inexpensive racing wheel recommendations

It's been a while since I've been on here. And yes, I do have yet another question. I'm thinking of getting a new monitor next year and I would like to go to a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Would my system be capable of running games at the resolution? I mainly play sim racers, so Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, Raceroom Racing Experience, rFactor 2, Dirt Rally, as well as arcade racers (NFS and Burnout and the like). My system specs are in my sig. Cheers

So, I picked up a Thustmaster T300RS a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it! It's been used (so far) in Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, RaceRoom Racing Experience, and it's awesome! Oh, and I had tried it on the other two...things the wheel is made for too. I think they're called a "playstation" and it only works on the third and fourth variations...weird Still awesome though. Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a TH8A shifter next week, along with the T3PA PRO pedal set. But I do have a question about it. According to the manual (ha), they recommend connecting it to a PC, PS3, PS4 or Xbox One without the use of a USB hub. So, assuming they are referring to a BUS powered hub, would a mains powered hub like this one work ok? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Ultra-Powered-Power-Supply/dp/B0061RSASU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1435943624&sr=8-3&keywords=belkin+usb+hub

Started the race well, me and 1st place ran away from the field, and kept within a couple seconds of him until lap 12 when he made a mistake. i drove past and held on for my first win on the road side of things Man, the MX-5 is such a fun car to drive, got the monkey off my back finally Now i have a win on both the oval and road course
