Hello community! I was wondering after rewatching Linus' video about a gaming PC and a NAS in one case if this is convenient for me. Primary thinking about the physical installation: can my silent base 800 take the SILVERSTONE SST-FS304B AND a disk drive? It only has 3 3,5" slots, but plenty of space above and under it. Has anyone tried this yet? Please help me -.-"

A quick question since I cant find a satisfying anwser online: Does the NZXT Kraken x52 (or x62) fit in the top of the Silent Base 800?

Hi all, I have a Be Quiet! Silent Base 800, and a h115i. As per Corsair's usual documentation, it states to use it as an intake, and I mostly believe it, my 1080ti basically cooks the inside of my case. The crazy-hot air is not something I'd like running through the radiator. My one issue is that the top of the Silent Base 800, while it has room for the h115i, the top of the case doesn't have ANY dust filtering, and the top is an absolute bitch to get off. What's worse, is that the fans are above the radiator, it cannot be installed with the radiator first, to make cleaning easier. The fan blades will get the dust first, and do the usual thing of force-feeding the radiator the dust, and being a general pain. Am I setting myself up for problems by pulling unfiltered air in through the top? Should I go and buy some tinsnips and attempt to get the radiator into the roof, with the fans pulling from inside the case? Unfortunately I cannot have both the fan and radiator mounted on the same side (inside) the case, as it hits the motherboard. Sorry for the super jank diagram

What I need: I'm looking for exhaust fan:. - Rear (120 or 140 w/120 mounts) - (optional) Top 140mm fan 120mm PW, 140mm SP, HP and HP II have been less than satisfactory. With a 140mm PW at the top, it's not too bad, but I'd like to improve further. I think I might get another Phanteks 140XP for the top, but I'd like to find an adequate rear exhaust first. I may try a few old Noctuas and see how they fare My hardware : I7 3930K 3.8-4.2Ghz Dark Rock Pro 3 with 2*135mm fans Silent Base 800 with 2*140mm Phanteks XP fans for intake GTX 970 MSI gaming EVGA P2 750W Fans I've tried so far: Phanteks 140SP (2 non-LED, 4 LED), HP (2), HP II (4), XP (2) Be Quiet 120mm and 140mm PureWings Be Quiet 120mm and 135mm SilentWings that came with the DRP3 My experience: 140mm XP>PW>SP >>> SPw/LED~HP~HP II Last three are unusable 600~900RPM range during my subjective testing Tested as intake in the front of my SB800 PWM vs VR didn't effect acoustics Others- 120mm SW fan was better than 120mm PW or 140mm HP/HP II but cant be mounted to case 135mm SW fan was best out of all the fans but cant be mounted to case

So i have the BeQuiet SilentBase 800 and just got the window sidepanel on it. Problem: It's pretty dark inside and thus it's very reflective, so i want to put some orange LED's in there to match the accents of the case. What would be the best (not too expensive) solution here? Never bought led strips so not sure what to look for. Thanks, ~Sam

Hi guys, For my coming pc upgrade, I want black/red looking components and I plan to buy the Be Quiet Silent Base 800, but I really like its orange/black theme. Will it look good with red/black component? (I know it is purely subjective and not very usefull because of the lack of windowed side panel, but I like a good looking build when I open my case ) Thanks

Hey guys, after using this case for about a month and I did not find much reviews on the internet, I decided to write about my experience with this case. First impression: this thing is damn big. Ok, not that big, but big for me because I had only seen laptops before this and also had seen only small pcs you can get by HP, Acer or any other brand with pre-build pcs. dimensions: length x width x height: 495 x 266 x 556/542 mm (height depends on whether you put the two long feet on it) It has place for up to 7 fans (2 front (preinstalled), 2 top, 1 sidepanel, 1 bottom (between psu and hdds), 1 rear (preinstalled)), has 7 3.5" drive bays (one 3 drive cage, one 4 drive cage), place for 3 5.25" things (or you can install the drive cage with the three drives here) and lots of space to put all your components in (even high tower coolers (up to 170mm), graphics cards up to 400 mm (if you have only one of the two drive cages in the bottom). If you want to have many ssds, you can also mount 2 of them behind the mainboard tray. The quality of this case is very good - allthough top, bottom and front panel are out of plastic. On of the side panels is a little bit twisted on mine, but you can shut it easily, not recognizable when the case is closed. Putting all my componts in was no problem, I put the drive cage for 4 drives out and the other drive cage in the bottom to improve airflow and have enough space for the beast gaming g1 970. Although i did not cable manage very well, I had no trouble getting the side panel back on. I had some troubles with putting the drive cages out because there is a hidden screw on the other side of the mainboard tray to srew the cages on to. This is not explained in the manual. So - let's see how this thing performs: It is even with the stock fans (2x 140mm, 1x 120mm Pure Wings 2) very, very quiet. The loudest thing in the machine is the gtx 970 I think, but even this you barely can hear. If I max everything out, I can't get both cpu and gpu over 60°C - good job. One little tiny thing I don't like that much is: due to the fact that the fans on the front have to take their air from the side, you can improve temperatures by 5°C if you open the front flap. Conclusion time: what are my pros/what are my cons? pros: good quality delivered with 3 (!!) very quiet fans effective noise dampening as far as I can tell (had no other case before) much room for everything (gpu up to 400mm, cpu cooler up to 170mm) ssd mounting on the other side door before 5.25" bays, opening direction can be changed good looking ;-) cons: bad manual: how can I get the front panel of? where did they hide the screws for hdd cages?neutral: for this price tag, they could have put silent wings instead of pure wings in it (could be an argument; I don't care) opening the front flap improves temperatures by 10% Hope it helped you & you enjoyed it to read! I just recently built my first computer and initially had everything in an NZXT S340, but I wasn't happy with the case. The window on the side panel scratched super easily, the side panel itself chipped for no reason, and it was a noisy case. I returned it and decided to hop over to be quiet! for their Silent Base 800, and it was worth the $50 premium. I got the case for $120 on NCIX, so that was $20 off the normal MSRP. Building in this case was a lot easier than in the S340. The motherboard went in MUCH easier. On the S340, I had to apply pressure on the motherboard to move it towards the I/O shield to get the holes to line up while I screwed it in, but in the Base 800, it was lined up without any force. My Kraken x61 went in the top of the case without a problem, but I was worried that my CPU temperatures would go up because the airflow on the top of the case is severely restricted, but this turned out to be a non-issue -- more on that later. The SSD, wifi card, and power supply all went in without a hitch. I don't know how the graphics card will go in because it's on an RMA adventure right now, but when it returns I suspect it'll go in just as fine as the wifi card. I took out the rear fan because it was the major source of noise in the case and the top mounted x61 is exhausting, so two somewhat restricted 140mm intakes and two very restricted 140mm exhausts combine to a slightly positive air pressure. This will probably go to a neutral air pressure when the graphics card gets put in; it's a reference 980Ti so the card will act as a small, additional exhaust. The only issue I had with the case was the removal of the top cover. There are six tabs on the top cover that you need to press in to remove it. I popped up the back four tabs and that was fine, but when I got to the front two tabs, it felt like I needed two more hands to help. You need to press in the tabs and pull up and back on the top cover all at the same time. Since I was impatient and didn't want to wait for other people to help me, I did the best I could, but the front two tabs broke off of the top cover. Since it slots in at the front as well as using the tabs, the top cover stays in place just fine even though two tabs are missing, and there's absolutely no wiggling or vibration or cosmetic defect, so it's not that big of a deal, but it's still kind of a disappointment. CPU temperatures in the S340 were at 55ºC average and 61ºC maximum, and this case is no different. What is different, however, is how unbelievably quiet this case is. I literally cannot stress it enough. I have four fans and a pump and under a CPU stress test, the volume doesn't go up at all. When the graphics card is installed it will probably be a little bit louder when the whole system is under load (while playing a game), but I predict that it'll definitely be quieter than the S340 as it has been up to this point. If you're looking for a quiet, easy-to-build-in, and stylish yet professional case, I would heavily suggest checking out the Silent Base 800. It has great airflow, it's super quiet, and I personally find the aesthetic of the case very attractive.

I have an NZXT S340, but I'm not so sure I like it. It's not a very quiet case, the side panel scratches really easily and already has several, very visible marks on it and I've only had it for a week and a half. One of the side panels also has a small chip on it, and I haven't even banged it against anything. I've been thinking about returning it and getting a bequiet! Silent Base 800. I wouldn't want a Define R5 because I don't really care for its aesthetic. Is it worth it? The price difference isn't really a big deal, but I'm just wondering if going through the hassle of returning it and reinstalling everything into a new case would be worth it, and if the Silent Base 800 would really be that much quieter than the S340.

So the instructions in the manual aren't very clear but it says you can mount the 3 3.5" drive bay into the 5.25" bays. Are there any clearer diagrams/tutorials/build logs where the user does this so I can see it a little better? [Or does someone want to make one? ]

So I just made an account and this is going to be my very first post. I think I am in the right section, but if not then I'm sorry. I'm thinking of upgrading to the Silent Base 800 case from beQuiet! and I would like to put my AIO in the front. Now I've read in a couple of revieuws that the case has a ribbeted in harddrive cage mounting bracket in the bottom front. They say that without modding it would be impossible to place an 240mm radiator there (with modding it would be). Now I have zero experience with modding and this case isn't that old so I couldn't find anything on google. So my question to you guys, and maybe some owners of said case, is if faced with the same problem how would you go about modding the case to fit in the 240mm radiator. My other case option is the FD Define R5 if it is too much a hassle, but I like the looks of the beQuit! case. Thanks in advance
