Budget (including currency): ~2000-2300€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, Wildheart, Lies of P, Starfield etc. and I've been trying out streaming on twitch the past months Other details: I currently have a Ryzen 7 2700 and a 2060 Super with 6GB VRam, a 1440P Monitor is present Hi guys, I've been using a pre-built for years now and since it's time for an upgrade I wanted to take it on myself this time, can anyone tell me if this is a good setup, what you would recommend to swap or what might even be overkill? Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jc2hKX (I didn't add any fans since the case should come included with 4 pieces, as stated on their site?) Thanks in advance!

Budget (including currency): 5.000€ (≈5622,52 USD) (I am willing to pay a little more for better performance) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Strategy (Total War, CIV), Shooter(Halo, Doom, not too much on the online side currently, but that should change once I have a system that can actually handle it), some Minecraft, Cyberpunk | Programming(Java, WebDev(Angular etc.)), a little Video Editing, Music Production once in a while, some 3D modeling Other details : I have an old PC but I want to step up my game with a system that can handle pretty much everything I throw at it (for hopefully quite some time), so my old won't be salvaged it will become my secondary. Peripherals are not needed currently. I can buy at the soonest in two months time. Currently I game at 1080p and 144Hz, but with this rig I can start to update to 4k. Hey guys. So I actually had opened a topic here before, getting help to figure out if a pre-build system I had my eyes on was actually worth the coin and if I should go for self build instead. I decided to go and do my own build and already got some help for that in my closed thread, asking if I should change something up. There was nothing major then and the minor things that came up I changed up when sensible, but now I have some questions left that I want to clear up before I throw my money around like a mad man. I never have build a PC before and I am sh*tting my pants a little about all the things that potentially could evade my thought beforehand. My planed build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/C3XsY9 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Deepcool CASTLE 360EX 64.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5 g Thermal Paste Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Crucial Ballistix 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory Storage: Kingston KC3000 2.048 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Kingston KC3000 2.048 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case (272 x 446 x 445 mm (B x H x T)) Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Case Fan: ARCTIC P12 PST A-RGB 0dB 48.8 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack Case Fan: ARCTIC P12 PST A-RGB 0dB 48.8 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack Total = 5652.94$ (USD) => 4917,85€ (yes I know that the rtx 3090 is a bit overkill, but I designed it with this knowledge in mind. I want a PC that will serve me for a long time (hopefully that is)) My questions are: Is there anything you would change up about my build? Something, that stands out to you to be a major flaw in my design? Which of course I will consider to change up when sensible (inside my budget +-200€). I learned a lot before planing this, but still I know just a fraction of the things I can/should know, but that's what I am here for, to benefit from all of your expertise and to not brick a 5600$ PC in the first go. For my case (the Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic) what's the best fan configuration in your opinion? I looked into it beforehand, but didn't really get an uniform and satisfying answer. I saw that they mostly went with one AIO and 6 additional fans but where they put them (top, bottom, back) and at which orientation, varied between every post and video I saw. So where should which go in your opinion and with which setup (pull or push). I still am reading into things, but as far as I understand I should aim for balanced or positive pressure, so I should have 6 pull and 3 push fans right? Do I need any additionals? With that I mean for example extra cables that may not be included with the components. Something like a fan controller (I picked up that one may need it, but I don't know if I have to buy it seperately (also I heard about RGB controllers same question for them)). Cable binds or something like that I probably should buy too, to have a decent cable management, that would make Linus proud. Anything else? What is your experience with static? Should I go for an anti-static wrist band (I mean it's "only" 8 additional dollars or so) or/and for an anti-static mat? Or skip them altogether and just do it, with touching the case regularly to ground myself? So, that's it. Thanks for all the help and have a nice day^^

Budget (including currency): 5.000€ (≈5622,52 USD) tops (I am willing to go over a little if it gives a performance boost, but not astronomically. I am still saving up money currently) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Strategy (Total War, CIV), Shooter(Halo, Doom, not too much on the online side currently, but that should change once I have a system that can actually handle it), some Minecraft, Cyberpunk | Programming(Java, WebDev(Angular etc.)), a little Video Editing, Music Production once in a while, some 3D modeling in the future. Other details : I have an old PC but I want to step up my game with a system that can handle pretty much everything I throw at it (for hopefully quite some time), so my old won't be salvaged it will become my secondary. Peripherals are not needed currently. I can buy at the soonest in two months time. I want to update to 4k eventually, currently I game at 1080p and 144Hz. So, I am fairly new to the whole: building your own PC and thinking about what should be in it, to get the best out of your buck thing, so I will need some help. I have some limited knowledge (I know how a PC functions but not what components are any good). I never build a PC before, so better not expect much of me in going forth. I am currently saving up to buy myself a new and hopefully amazing gaming rig. I started to learn some things about what's this and that but still am in need of professionals taking a deeper look into things. I searched for some pre-build systems I could draw inspiration from and found one that I actually find quite nice. My question for you now is, is it any good? If I decide against buying this, I will build my own system, but if the configuration is good for the price, I probably will just copy their config for my build with some mostly minor changes, so it is quite helpful to know if it is a good system or not. The price is reasonable in my feeling, if I were to buy the parts myself I probably would pay even more taking the current GPU prices into account. The things that drive me to consider building it myself are the fact that I can't select the case that I really fancy (the Lian Li 011DX) because I can't change up the fan configuration accordingly on their website, and secondly because all the LTT clips I am binging right now get me fired up to build it myself. I will provide the default specs here, plus to what I consider to change them to if at all(for you being able to evaluate what would be better), but I also will post the link to the system below. It is a German website though, so it's your decision if you want to look it up. They have expandable panels on the site in which you can change up some of the components. You don't really need to know what the panel says, because you can just open it to see the component you can change, but as I said it isn't really necessary: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (also the 5950 is selectable) CPU cooler: Corsair H150i PRO RGB XT GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, 24 GB GDDR6X (manufacturer according to availability. it says next to it) Mainboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WiFi II RAM: 4x 16GB Corsair Vengance RGB PRO, Dual Channel 3200MHz SSD: 2x Intel SSD 660p, 2000GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe 1800 MB/s (thinking about changing to: Kingston KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD 2000GB) Case: Dark Base 700 RGB LED Case fan: Be quiet! Silent Wings 3 Cable Mod: Lian Li Strimer 24-Pin RGB Mainboardcable Power Supply: BoostBoxx PB850M 80+ Gold, 850Watt fully Modular WLAN: Intel Wireless-AX 200 OS: Windows 10 or 11 Home or Pro to my choosing Link: https://www.boostboxx.com/boostboxx-pietsmiet-zerficker.html standard setup price: 4669,-€ (≈5260,60 USD) So this is the setup, I don't know much, but it feels like an amazing machine. Still, I fancy somebody's qualified opinion over my own gut feeling. As I said, I either will go with this setup or copy the main components for my own build moving them into the Lian Li 011DX with the proper cooling. But I guess I also could always move the system to another case later if I am really upset with it. I haven't decided yet. Thank you for your help! It will be very much appreciated! Have a nice day

I guys, I'm a semi-Newbie to the PC building game, I built a mid range gaming PC about 3 years ago, but now I'm getting into editing and 4K video and I'm going to start another build. Could you guys please tell me if any of the parts are not adequate for 4K playback, Uploading 4k and very light editing. If the RAM, GPU, CPU, Cooler or Wattage of the PSU are not adequate please tell me. My planned PC CPU: I7 8700K 6 core CPU COOLER: CryoRig R1 GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB RAM: Crucial 16GB STORAGE: MX300 1TB SSD PSU: Corsair 450W Modular CASE: Coolermaster Mastercase Pro 6 MONITOR:Acer RT280K 28" 4K OS:Windows 10 Thankyou in advance guys, I have maybe 100 dollars more that I could spend, but my budget cant afford anything significant like a 1070, or 36gb of RAM, so keep that in mind -Galaxysun.

Hello everybody, My name is Peter and im new to Linustechtips. So if im doing something wrong, just notify me. My native language is not English so please excuse any grammar or spelling errors The problem: My friends pc is a watercooled gaming pc which his neighbour build for him. He has this pc for around 6 years now and it always worked really well. So the hardware is perfectly compatible. Since a month ago his pc shut down instantly and gives no bsod or any errorlog. Sometimes he can immediately start up the pc and boot windows again, but the pc will fail within 30 minutes. The amount of time the pc stays on is really random from 5 minutes to 1 hour. (This is not stress related because we test this with offline matches of League of legends). He has 4 banks of ram installed which are all together 8gb. Yet his windows (64bit) shows only 4gb. His motherboard shows red leds which should indicate where a problem could be, but these leds vary everytime it crashes. Its mostly on the memory and cpu. What we have tried: We tried testing the ram with memtest86 and windows memory test software. All turned out well. We even put the memory in my own pc and it showed 8gb. We tried another power supply which was even a little weaker in Watts. No difference We tried reinstalling Windows which also didnt help. We tried running the pc on the onboard graphics card. Also no signs of improvement. We checked the liquid cooling for leaks Does anybody know what could cause the problem? We suspect the motherboard for these failures. Overheating seems unlikely because there isnt alot of warmth in the case and near the cpu. Thanks in advance.
