Ever wanted to force Valve into making new Half Life? 'Cuz these guys do... They want billboards, truck, advertisements over google... And to be serious: I agree to this guy's comment: Sigh.....While its true that Valve has been focusing on lot of different things besides Half-Life, there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that they have been working on Half-Life 3 for quite a while now and I think they are perfectly aware that fans want that game....but they are NOT going to speed up their development, work any faster or release the game any earlier than they feel the game is ready for launch...so while I admire the passion you might have, this kind of thing is not going to be of any use. Valve will release the game when its ready, and they most likely want to keep is as secret as possible, until its nearly finished....they most likely want to make sure that when they announce the game and its release date, that release date will hold and that they dont suffer the same kind of setback that they did with Half-Life 2 back in 2003 when it was originally supposed to be released, but was pushed back for entire year, because the game's code got leaked and pirated copies of it were sold in Russia and elsewhere. Most of all, Valve wants to make sure that HL3 could be called one of the best games of all time, just like the original and HL2 were called (and still are), so thus they wont rush with the development.

If you don't know what Free to Play means... It's basically a game which advertises itself as free, but it pulls you in a trap. You have micro transactions and benefits if you pay... One 15 year old teenager fell into the trap, and Kotaku writes about it... And they continue by saying: We should rename the "Free to Play" term to "Pay to Win" because if you have a credit card, you surely are the winner... This describes the current state of the Industry, if they actually wanted to make a Free game, would they be able to? They wouldn't be a real company if they aren't making any income... But todays kids are stupid also for actually spending that much money on a "free game". I've seen lots of people do this, and if you want to know how much this kid actually spent, well, you don't... Or atleast shouldn't, let's just say that he spent more than a yearly income... Or... 37,000 Euros And let's just remember that this happened because of his stupid mom who almost "let" him rob his GRANDFATHER'S CREDIT CARD

Yes, Ubisoft is making another AC! The AC is supposed to be called AC Chronicles: China It's a 2.5D Scroller which happens in China... (you don't say) The main character is going to be Shao Jun... A girl assassin trained by Ezio Auditore himself. Shao is one of the last Chinese Assassins and she's coming back to her homeland... for you've guessed it... REVENGE (but it's not known against who) Awesome, what do you think of Ubisoft's choice to make it a Side-Scroller? And also, what a badass art for the game: So what do you expect from the game? I think there will be: 1. Good Mechanics... 2. Decent Graphics... 3. Retarded trailer that doesn't connect to the game at all... 4. Half decent story... 5. This is Linuses ultimate guide, if you watched the cooler step, you will see how he mounted it, he mounted it that way so the fan is pointing at the GPU while the it is intaking, i find this weird because many people reported cpu overheating with this setup? Why? Because the fan is intaking the heat directly from the GPU , theoretically it should just add additional heat from the gpu and mix it up with heat that the cpu is producing even if the r9 250 isn't that hot card... Maybe I am wrong, but when i watched the video i started wondering which way should i rotate my cooler? Because, when he was also installing his PSU he said: "I will rotate the psu so the fan is pointing downwards, this way the psu has it's own cooling area" meaning that trough those intake holes the psu would exhaust the heat instead of just adding more of that heat in the case, but he done just the opposite with the cpu, if he mounted the cpu cooler in the way the cpu heat would get rear exhausted it would be better, and the cpu would have it's OWN thermal zone. Maybe I am wrong... Some can agree and disagree, but can someone explain?

We already have a server running for the forums and the owner wants to join it up with the two groups, that is a Minecraft server with a Mumble one: Game Server IP: 108.174.60.68:25865 Mumble Server IP: 192.227.129.3 Port: 64765 You can go and discuss anything about servers and making of these two groups in the first link above! I would like to know what @LinusTech thinks of this So basically what i want to do is have subforums for our gaming group, people donating atleast 5 euros to run and manage servers: I thougt of Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, GMoD, CS:GO, TF2, 2 more Minecraft servers, and Battlefield 4 server with atleast 48 slots. Forum members will donate and manage as I said, and we kinda need to organize this a bit more, but this is just my plan and many agreeed with me. I also thought of splitting the main LTT or LTT-G clan into two subclans. LTT-EU and LTT-NA since one member said: "The thing with large LTT clans is that often there is a huge split between NA and EU players that makes it a tad difficult to play together" So yeah, what do YOU guys think also?

So, move the topic as you want moderators if you think this is in the wrong section of the forum, but I was noticing people making clans, adding servers and having so much fun while doing it while their community grows bigger and bigger each day, since i couldn't find any clan related stuff on the forums even with google search, i thinked, well, why not to make a clan? Some people like me would like to donate, build and maintain server, think about it, we could expand Linus Tech Tips community itself. It is new, it is awesome, and would be a good upgrade to the forums, especially when the official LTT portal comes in. Our tag ingame should be [LTT] or /LTT/. You can agree on that below this post, or we could even make subclans that have different names, tags, but are directly related to the forums, or actually, directly linking other people's clans to the forums (if they agree to co-operate ofcourse) We could have Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2, and Minecraft server in the beggining, expenses wouldn't be big, arround 16 players on cod with 4-5 best maps, and some minecraft plugins, i remember adcraft, it displays ad's on your server and just pays itself, we could have a dedicated subforum for the servers, and as our clan grows, we could expand our server, i know, i know, it is just idea. But if we try, we could make this work. What do you think guys?

So I looked a bit into the world of WATCH_DOGS>>>> thru other people's eyes. What I saw the last day, and this day about the Watch Dog(e)s, you know what I'm doing here right? Was just a diassapointing and unfinished product. What I expected from a company that had a good reputation and still has it, is, a more polished product. As the Ubisoft staff said themselves: "We are postponing this game because whenever we looked we all saw the same thing (unfinished product) so we want to improve the game" And when they said that, I really, really, and once again, REALLY, believed them. It was just a beLIEf. So this is a post that shows everything that is wrong with AAA industry, or so they call it, and the game that i'm mentioning here. Sorry Ubisoft, you dissapointed me. Now what i'm going to say about this game is all TRUTH, and this isn't supposed to be BULL****ing by some 12 year old, many people that read this will either agree or say that this has already been posted (i hate that). Firstly: The Unoptimization of the game The game Isn't optimized, actually, not in any way possible. The thing that they called polishing is probably making Aiden's shoe shinier. NO ONE CARES FOR THAT. WE WANT PERFORMANCE. I wanted to buy an AMD R9 265 OC Edition to play every game, and when the mighty WATCH_DOGS>>>> came out i had to change ALL MY COMPUTER BUILDING PLANS (please note ,that, that will be my first build) So lets first say that Jason Evan Gelho did a benchmark on this game on Forbes.com, and it will blow your Brains and Balls equally strong. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/watch-dogs-pc-benchmark-results-multiple-amd-and-nvidia-cards-tested/ So if you go and view that, you'll first see that there isn't barely any difference between R9 280X and R9 290X, and that CROSSFIRE/SLI scaling is none, I kinda expected this with AMD cards, but since they worked with NVIDIA, why? Second: Weird Graphics Options Suprise, huh? No, not in any way, the lowest AO option (MHBAO which is a console half resolution AO) compares and looks better than HBAO+ (imo). HBAO+ High just makes everything a lot more darker, but MHBAO removes that darkness, but still EMBOSSES lots of elements ingame to make it look realistic. So also there is almost no difference between FXAA and 2xMSAA. Yep, And in every option there is no difference between ULTRA and HIGH but it degrades performance alot! Third: Graphics don't look amazing in any way On full ultra you can see things Pop in into the distance? What, we're in 2002 here? Decreasing texture quality actually can remove full polygons and most of the times you can see jaggies everywhere, and i don't need to say that foliage looks like a chewed then puked green sh!T. Fourth: No Multiple GPU's Scaling Fifth: Stuck with NVIDIA! It's really complicated for ME to explain it, but someone already posted it on the forums. We have right to use anything we want.. To play games with any software on any platform? Throw that out of the window and add UPLAY, you're forced to have it, just because Ubisoft wants you because it's their software. So why should it be yours? Many people won't give two fuc.. I meant firetrucks about this, but seriously? AND THE FINAL THING THAT MADE US BELIEVE THAT WATCH DOGS WILL BE ONE OF A KIND TITLE (story wise and component wise it is, this isn't COD ffs) THE TITLE THAT WOULD THROW ALL THESE BAD THINGS OUT OF THE WINDOW, WAS BULLSHIT MARKETING... Compare the 2012 trailer with the 2014 trailer, and you will see a huge degradation in quality over the past years. Isn't the title needing to be IMPROVED by how the time goes forward? FK THAT, UBISOFT MUST DO IT THE OTHER WAY. Top to the Bottom. So if you preordered, you got a half finished product that was even up to this day, even if it was delayed, rushed to market, and even with delaying, it wasn't optimized, and when you preorder, you support the developer for doing the same thing over and over again. So never preorder, and never buy the game as soon as it comes out! You people, just got trolled! Got something that bothered you in the post? You agree with something from here? Pretty much self explainatory. My best gaming moment was when i played Call of Duty 4 Modded for a first time, deathrun and zombies were a great experience, had so much fun. My best tech moment was when i watched LinusTechTips for the first time, Linus is good at explaining stuff, he helped me to become what I am today, and best thing ever that happened to me both related to tech and gaming is meeting my best friend, we are talking everyday for five years now, luv him <3 (no homo) Please split your best moments into two or three cathegories, and don't short out on content, I want to know EVERYTHING. Okay so I can get used r9 280x's for the price of a r9 270, but which one? Club3D vs XFX? I'm looking at the Club3d one since it's got a nice fan design and a backplate... I also thought that PSU I'm buying (cx500) won't hold up, but on Tom's running 3960x and 32 gigs of RAM full peak system usage is 380W using the hottest card... My specs: FX 6300 G.Skill 2x4 GB sticks Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Motherboard, I need help with this one also, so this one, or MSI AM3+ G46FX? I won't be overclocking that much since I will use the stock cooler, but a bit of an increase on stock voltages would be fine, I'll be upgrading in the future... So, I wanted to ask this question for a long time... Why are you on the forums, not that the forums are bad, staff and members did a great job making it what it is today, but, why? In my case, it was my life, my loneliness (sorry if i spelled that wrong) that influenced me (sorry if i spelled wrong again) to join this forum. Outside of my computer is a world full of people I don't want to hang out with. Full of retarded sexist bastards talking about penises and trying to get boners. Yeah, I am in a weird fucking place, but ill maybe never be able to get out of there. A world full of people that were your "best-friends" when they needed your money, your food, your drinks, your will to give them anything you want so their arses could be happy. (sorry, but really thinking about it i feel bad now) And I aren't talking about this because other people do, and I want to be like them, but because it already happened to me, and I'm freaking 12! Same story, a guy pretended to be my friend so i could give him things, be in his surroundings and protect him, and when he needed to get on his legs alone, he made me look like a damn bastard.... Then i found how a computer can be valuable for a person, not because I'm a gamer/tecchie now, but because I am already for 9 years... Because, yes, I started playing my first game on my 512MB's of ram computer with a pentium 2 CPU and an emulator. When i was three i knew more shit then 14 year old's knew, and i was harrased because of it. And when i got internet in 2008, again, i realized how gaming, and being on a computer could be a good thing. I was constantly making friends and meeting new people. And I aren't bullshitting again, because, I met my best friend through the net. We talk each day, 4 hours, for 5 years now, and we still have much things to discuss about, but since my friend was already a "enough" tecchie himself, i felt that there was emptiniess inside of me. That i couldn't help people with the best things i've ever learnt about. Computers. So i tuned in a lot of channels like JayzTwoCents, BarnaculesNerdgasam (Both of them are on the forums) Newegg, and ofcourse, the almighty LinusTechTips and NcixTechTips... I already knew much things Linus was discussing about, but i've already just wanted to hear someones else thoughts, and so I discovered LTT forums. Where i could interact with people that are same like me, and help them. I know this is a long ass post, and that it has been posted probably 1 or 2 times already, but i would be happy if you shared your own story with me

Do you like this forum? I just love it. Ive been with tens of forums and this is the best one ive been on. On every forum people would be grammar-nazi, hate, and post stupid comments and hate. On this one i can answer and ask a lot of questions and they will be answered almost instantly, and no single thing would hate. That is what i love. I can help people and get help from them and not be hated in the same time. I just love it. Linus has created the best community of fine people that help and get help and im very happy and proud that i can be part of it. Thank you Linus. Thank you every one! And main question. So i was thinking about it, this is a great forum, full of good and caring members, but we are just not using it's full potential... Look arround, you will see gamers EVERYWHERE, and they are taking a major part of this forum. But how are we returning the favour? Bunch of unofficial servers. PC gaming subforum. Really Linus? Gaming section became a mess, everybody just dumping their random topics into it... Why shouldn't we members manage it? Many unofficial Platoons and servers, and no one is using them. Not many people know for the existence of the "Unoficiall servers thread" in forum news and info subforums! So many people aren't even giving attention to it. Well, this is my idea. 1. We should add a tab on the forums top navigation called gaming. There should be information about the servers, maybe even a shout box 2. We should make a seperate official steam group for all the gamers, that would be active and be managed by tested users who are willing to help this forum. 3. We would need a subforum for announcments of all the servers that we have. 4. We should use full potential of all unofficial Minecraft and DayZ servers. 5. We should host more servers, I have a server up and running, and no one is even on it, it just makes the idea #4 more usefull. I was thinking about hosting the Battlefield 3 and 4 servers, and Call of duty servers which are popular, people are filling 24 and 32 slots number constantly, and the servers are very cheap most of the time. 6. Donations, if we are going to host servers, we need money, there are 1500 members online everyday, and they should pay only few cents each to make the servers up and running. The donations should be managed by administrators. 7. Clan wars What's cooler than that? 32 v 32 against another clan in Battlefield, blow that skyscraper up Linus! Or even scheduling Minecraft Faction wars between the members of the forums itself, which would be scheduled either on the forum calendar or in the Gaming tab I talked about earlier I think people should implement this kind of system. It would be really cool and make the gamers happier. If this happens, I will take a full-time job of managing the gaming clan, and many's people servers should be used on the forums. Because, they would be a part of LTT, and have more players. I will probably make a sketch of how the tab should look like. Also I thought about splitting the gaming community into two parts. NA and EU part, and they could have wars between themselves? Not a war, but a competition. On the Gaming tab there should be a featured member of the week where someone can post his ballin montage of the awesome kill he made! As I said there should be a calendar, and even time zones changer. What are your suggestions for this kind of stuff?
