NVIDIA looked to Samsung rather than TSMC for the production of its RTX 30 series GPUs. The decision to go with Samsung has caused issues though, not least poor yields on its 8 nm process. Nonetheless, NVIDIA will continue to use Samsung for its RTX 3000-series SUPER GPUs, according to a new report. The RTX 30 SUPER series is due next year. In that, what if there really isn't a supply issue per se, but they are in actuality preserving the best dies from current yields for this upcoming SUPER series release. Despite issues with production, they (NVIDIA) seem to have still renewed a second deal here with Samsung. If they are stockpiling the best binned dies for the SUPER series release of the 3000-series, that would make sense. Nobody suspected AMD to be as competitive with big Navi as they were (RDNA 2 / RX 6000-series). NVIDIA probably figured it would be best to rush the SUPER refresh parts to gain that slight edge over AMD's competing offerings (thus EOLing non-SUPER parts, and going straight to SUPER parts). With Turing though, once the SUPER series launched, quite quickly, non-SUPER parts went EOL (perhaps instead of refreshing stock of non-SUPER stuff, they forgo it altogether and pivot to the SUPER refresh parts immediately). Here though, if the Ampere SUPER parts prove to be slightly faster (5-12%) than their non-SUPER counterparts (as did with Turing), this is "justification" for charging even more or slightly more (rather than the same, especially if demand allows it). Which begs the question, is the scalping going to in actuality be even worse then, than it is now...? Or will supply meet the demand this time around because Samsung has been prepping for this refresh all along? I'm honestly completely on the fence, from what I heard the RTX 3000 series & Ryzen 4000s were supposed to come this year, but with the whole world on shut down I feel somewhat conflicted on whether to finally make my new 2020 build. I was looking to spend something like £1500 to £1800ish, aiming at a Ryzen 3700x & RTX 2070 Super for editing and streaming, possibly even trying a Mini ITX or SFF build, but have the prices on components started increasing? Anyone else in a similar situation where they're worried about getting hit by those ridiculous RAM prices a few years ago when there was a large shortage of supplies?

Unconfirmed leaks are indicating that the 2019 RTX Super will be getting a performance boost, with a price cut to most of the 2018 lineup. This is great news for anyone considering a RTX GPU. Cuda core counts are unconfirmed, but effectively the super series will contain the chipset of the next higher 2018 RTX card. What this means is that the 2060 super willl have a 2070 chip, and the 2070 super will have a 2080 chip, and the 2080 super will have a 2080 TI series chip. The 2080 TI will not receive a super edition but will have its price cut as well. The 2060 will maintain the 349 price, with the super edition being given a hefty $429.99 price. This weekend i built my new pc with this components: Ryzen 5 3600x cooled by an Dark Rock 4 from be quiet! Asus strix X470 F Gaming 32 GB 3200 Mhz Memory Gigabyte Rtx 2070 Super Windforce OC Samsung 970 evo 1Tb NZXT H500i with 2 additional be quiet! 1200mm silent wings 3 Be quiet! straight power 11 550w I'm using the latest nvida driver stand: 27. July 2019 (I also tried an older version) Now to my problem: Today i made some gaming tests for overclocking and so on. And my graphics card got really really loud around 50 dB i would say and the fans had around 2200 - 2500 rpm. The temperatures are also around 80 degrees. So far so good, after that i red some tests of that graphics card because i thought thats a bit to warm. In all of those test the graphics card was getting not warmer than 65 degrees and the fans had an rpm of around 1500. So it was much more silent to. I have to say that it is in my area pretty warm (around 30 degrees) and in my room it is about 25 degrees. What is also weird it doesn't matter how hard i crank the fans the temperature stays at around 80 degrees. This all is out of the box. So now my question is if somebody knows how to fix the high temperatures or that high rpm from the fans. Thanks

Anybody holding out on buying an RTX vanilla for a super? I don't really feel the value is there for the money. From what I understand they pretty much have a bit more performance than their vanilla counterparts that are factory OC'd from AIB's. Personally, even fancy OC cards only offer negligible performance gains from my experience. I've already cashed out on a 2070 black gaming last week, I guess this could turn out to be buyers remorse if they're real power houses, I doubt that will be the case but only time will tell.
