So, I recently purchased a used 2020 Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070. The person I had purchased the device from had it for less than a year and wanted to sell it to build a gaming rig. Though the laptop is still relatively new it is having some performance issues when playing games. When I should be getting frame rates in the 70-100s I am getting frame rate in the 30-60s. This coupled with thermals in the 90c range. I've tried everything I can think of to increase the performance, i.e., setting my computer to high performance, updating all of my drivers, closing all background applications, undervolting the CPU to prevent thermal throttling, and more. I'm starting to think that the issue is a hardware one such as thermal paste no being properly applied, dirty fans (Although I have used an air can on the fans), and or something else. Besides the issue with performance and thermals the battery life is not lasting as long as the advertised 5 hours. If I had to guess it is probably due to the temp issues damaging the battery. If anyone had any other idea about what could be going wrong with my laptop please let me know. ╰(*°▽°*)╯

So I just got for a present a Razer Blade 15 Base 2021 second hand. Everything was alright before the factory reset all games were working and it had no issues or alerts but from there everything went downhill. After finishing windows setup I opened Task Manager to see if everything was there except one thing, the RTX 3060. First I thought that there is a driver issue so I updated all of them and tried to start NVidia control panel with no success. GeForce Now downloads the driver and installs it but the prompt for installing it is still there. Next up I opened the device manager to see if it even detects the graphics card and it is there along with the intel HD graphics but it has error code 43. After uninstalling the device and rebooting my computer the error disappears and it says "This device is working properly" but, and there is a big but, at location details it says: "PCI Slot 1 (PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0)". I thought that maybe it was disabled in the bios but after accessing it I couldn't find any option to enable it. I tried to find the solution the last 2 days with little to none success but the end of the semester approaches so I have some exams and I was trying to repair it in one week time in order to get it ready for those. I hope that it is fixable software wise because if it isn't than back to my Pentium laptop. Thank you in advance for your help. PS. I tried contacting razer support but with no response yet.

Useful Information: Laptop Model: Razer Blade 15" Base (2020) — RZ09-03519 CPU: i7-10750H GPU: GTX 1660ti Memory: 2x8GB stock memory Laptop Spec. Page: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3919/ BIOS Version: Aptio 2.21.1278 Operating System: 64 bit — Windows 11, Dev. Insider Build 25163.rs_prerelease.220715-1711 / Ubuntu 20.04 LTS When the laptop starts up, the built in keyboard is not functional. I am not able to open BIOS or interact with GRUB in order to boot to my Linux installation. I was able to get to BIOS via Windows troubleshooting options, but I can't interact with it at all, so I don't know of a way to boot to some other medium (even if that would make a difference). When I try plugging in any USB devices I can think of (mouse, keyboard, USB drive, etc.) they do not work, and sometimes display error messages saying they are not recognized, in addition to adding error messages to the device manager which go away after I uninstall the USB Devices and re-add them, but they simply reappear when I try to plug in a new device. Strangely, the touchpad is still functional, which is the only way I can navigate the computer (to some degree). I do not imagine that drivers could be a problem since the keyboard doesn't work in the BIOS or boot screens either, but I tried updating drivers and from what I can tell they all appear to be up to date. I also attempted uninstalling HID and USB devices in device manager. If there's anything else I can try (with drivers or otherwise), I'd be happy to try it.

I've tried a number of things: Checked if the charger is good, Tried different outlets, Held the power button for 15s (only the white LED blinks once), Held the power button, unplugged the charger, and released the button trick, Unplugging the internal battery and just attempt to turn it on using the power brick (no signs of life, no fan, nothing). The only indication I get from the laptop is the white LED blinks after holding the power button for 10s. That's it. No fans, no display, nothing. This is a Razer Blade 15 (2018) advanced (GTX 1070 model). This is the guide I followed in attempts to turn it on: Razer Blade does not have power, won't boot up or turn on. Any and all help will be appreciated a lot! I have the tools to open it up and inspect as well if I can get guidance on what and where I should look at.

As the title says I've been eyeing the XPS 15 and Blade 15 but I'm torn because I've heard nothing but great things about the XPS in reviews and ratings but quite the opposite from friends. The Blade I've seen highly ranked in a lot of reviews but always gets beat out. I'll be going to college so it will be used for everything including gaming (nothing crazy), Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere, and the typical college stuff. The XPS has the better screen and is cheaper but the Blade has a better CPU and GPU, I'd like it to last all 4 years of college so reliability and durability are pretty important. Any input would be appreciated. The configurations I've been looking at are below Razer Blade: $2499 QHD 240Hz i7 12800H RTX 3060 16GB 4800 MHz 1TB SSD Dell XPS: $2399 3840x2400 500 nit touch screen (non oled option) i7 12700H RTX 3050ti 16gGB 4800 MHz 1 TB m.2

Hello everyone, I've just bought a Razer Blade Advanced OLED 2020 model (with an RTX 2080 Super) and I'm looking to pair it up with an ultrawide monitor, ideally one that is G-Sync capable. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best monitors to pair up with the laptop? I'm thinking I would use the thunderbolt port and would use the monitor for extra screen real estate when working, or otherwise for use when gaming. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

Hello guys, I have a Razer Blade 15 (2018) with a GTX 1070 Max-Q and I am on the market for an external monitor... I would like to buy a G-Sync enabled monitor to achieve the best performance, but I am not sure that the my Razer Blade can support G-Sync! I have done some research on the matter and I found out that: - the Mini DisplayPort is connected directly to the 1070 Max-Q graphics card, - Razer has enabled Optimus technology on the laptop (from what I understand this means that G-Sync is disabled???), and - some claims that the Razer Blade 15 works with G-Sync monitors! To sum up, my questions are: 1) In case G-Sync is disabled, is there any way to enable it (i.e. by disabling Optimus, or something else)? 2) If I purchase a FreeSync monitor (i.e. in the range of 35-90 Hz) will it be able to take advantage of the FreeSync technology? 3) Will I see any difference in gaming by either technologies? Thank you in advance! P.S. My #1 post!!!

I have a ROG GL503VS Scar edition. Specs are below i7-7700HQ GTX 1070 240GB NVME SSD + 525GB SATA SSD 16GB DDR4 2400MHZ Ram Should I upgrade from this? The reasons why I'd want to are: 1) Portability. The laptop is quite heavy with the charger. It's also thick in today's standards 2) Battery life. Battery life is short. 2hrs on max battery saver mode with brightness set to minimum I want to upgrade to the latest RB15 i7 9th gen Rtx 2080 max q

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide buying a used laptop. My budget is about $1500. I'm a high school student in an engineering class. I do some light CAD and I game sometimes on the weekends. I often play games like rocket league (however I'm so busy that I probably play like twice a month) but it would be nice to have the ability to play more intense games like The Division 2 (however, not required). I'm probably gonna go for an engineering degree when I go into college and would like be able to use programs like Solidworks then. I usually play on the weekends, so I don't play too much. However, I'm a bit split on my decision. I can probably afford a local used Razer Blade 15 with a 1070, but I'm unsure of reliability issues (Should I go for the 1060 or the 1070). I've heard that they have problems, but what's your people's input? Would the power of the XPS 15 with a 1050ti suffice? Would it be worth getting the XPS 15 because of the reliability over the Razer Blade? I don't have to worry about battery life too much between the two though because I'll always have a charger and a plug. However, which would fit my need more?

The Blade 15 is quite a nice laptop and the base model with the HDD and the SSD was a nice addition. However, you can only get the 60hz panel for the base model unlike the advanced model which has a sweet 144hz panel. I had seen that Linus did a screen swap with an MSI model to a 120hz panel. I'm curious if that's possible with the Blade 15 just that my only concern is compatibility with the screen frame and that because the bezels are so thin on the sides that a screen may not work or be really expensive. Does anyone know if it's possible to do this and know of any potential screens?

Hello. I had the chance to buy a razer blade recently. I have been using the computer for 2 weeks. There was no problem except warming up. During the game (I tried CS: GO, Fall Guys, GTA-5, while playing LoL); GPU (RTX 2070 Max-Q), changes between 70-80 C. (Approx 70 for LoL, and 80 for GTA.) CPU (i7-9750H), changes between 80-90 C. As I read from some forums, i am not worried that it gets hot while playing games, it doesnt bother me. Generally, they talk about heating problems in most of the gaming laptops. In a few razer blade test videos I watched, the temperatures were more or less like mine. My main concern is that the computer gets too hot when I'm not playing games. I didn't buy this computer with the main purpose of gaming. I needed a laptop for long-term use. I saw that the razer blade was highly praised and the processor graphics card, etc. was good enough for me. Today I turned on my computer, which was completely cold. I just watched Netflix for about 50 minutes. During this time I used the computer on battery. I will add photos of the degrees below. The computer goes back and forth between 55-60 degrees. I can never put the computer on my knees or anything. The case is made of titanium (I am not sure, it could also be aluminum), so I am feeling the heat even more. I am writing here because I do not know if it is normal for this razer blade to get so hot when using it on idle. In the first photo, when using on idle, there are temperatures, how much of the processor is used and speed values in mhz. The other 3 photos belong to the ThrottleStop application where I did the undervolt process. I use this profile while only on battery. I tried many things, but somehow I could not lower the computer to 40-45 degrees. Is it normal to get this hot while using on idle? I also couldn't understand what caused it to get so hot. Only 5-10% of the CPU is used and thanks to throttlestop the CPU does not go above 1.5 GHz, but for some reason the laptop does not go below 55 degrees. I would be very happy if you could help me work this out. I leave the specs of the computer below. Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model (Mid-2019) CPU: Intel i7-9750H GPU: RTX 2070 Max-Q Ram: 16 GB Display: 240 Hz, 1080p

Hey All ! Next year I'm going to university, but as it is far from me, I can't bring my setup there, so here I am looking for the best laptop for me, as I want to play video games and most important, take notes in class. I have two candidates : the Razer Blade 15, with the GTX 1060 (Max Q...) and 512gb, wich I can have for 2249€, but the thing is that it doesn't have a great battery life, and 15.6" seems big for amphitheater. So I thought about the latest Razer Blade Stealth (8550U, 512Gb) because it is small and have a better battery than the 15", but, I will need to buy a Razer Core X in wich I'll have to put my GTX 1050 Ti. A lot of people prefer to take some Mac, but as I still want to play big games, I need to have a powerful machine. So here is my problem, what is the best solution ? I don't have any experience about university so I don't know if 15" is too big, but I'm afraid that 13.3" would be a bit small for comfort. Thanks for your help ! Have a nivce day
