Summary Some Powercolor Red Devil 7900XTX suffers from high temp (including, in usual fashion, hotspot temp), further investigation from Igor (IgorsLab) discovers that the card was having a temperature issue due to QC issues related to the cooler mounting and thermal paste application from the factory (Image from IgorsLab). Powercolor already contacted IgorsLab regarding the issue and telling users affected by this issue to contact Powercolor but so far no announcements made on their social platform Quotes My thoughts 7900XTX seems can't take a break from QC issues. While to be fair this is a fairly easy fix, not everyone would want to teardown their 7900XTX or even have the know how to do the teardown, yeah maybe just a small percentage of them but still, it's frustrating to know your finished build have to be disassembled (well, the gpu have to be disassembled) because while gaming the temps were not great and the bad news is that they don't quickly announced the issue so you have to make a guess on what's actually going on with your card until someone tells you or you dig deeper to know it's a thermal paste/ cooler mount issue, which on a card like 7900XTX especially on their 3rd party model you'd think it's going to be good out of box, but no you have to go through (maybe) half an hour of disassembly to repaste and remount it, or if you live in a region where warranty void if removed stickers actually does what it says if the RMA peeps sees that it's broken or peeled, you have to bring it for RMA and wait for a few days, maybe a week worst case. So yeah, basically for any Radeon card makers: 7000 series, bare chiplet cards, not a bare monolithic. Don't forget to spread it even and correctly cover the entire die. It's not a Ryzen CPU where you can just do X four dot pattern and call it a day. And please, if there's any of this problems and you acknowledge it, immediately announce it to the public with clear detail so people know what to do if they are affected. Hi there! A year and a half ago I bought a RX 6700 and I've been having an horrible experience with it. As mentioned below, I use 4 monitors where one usually has a tab from Twitch or Youtube. If for some reason I open another tab of Youtube for exemple, both videos will be lagging a LOT. Whatever monitor they're on. Same if I open a webpage with some animations (this include some media players: if the HUD? of Youtube is showing while the video is playing, the video will lag until it disappears), everything will lag for some time. In top of all that, when I press Alt+tab it's all buggy, even if I have only one Twitch/Youtube it will show like 7-8 of that tab. Few screens of this mess: https://imgur.com/a/GNNzvK9 (the screens are on Opera but the same happens on Chrome + Firefox, I just can't stand these web browsers). I've deactivated the hardware acceleration on Opera and it's now usable, but I still have all that. Sometimes the fourth monitor won't even be recognized anymore. I don't turn off any screens, I'll have to reboot maybe 5 times in order to get it to be detected (already tried to turn them off and everything but still the same). It struggles with a few games too, which I can't remember now from the top of my mind, since I've abandonned playing on PC and switched to the Steam Deck and Ps5 because of this GPU. Here are the specs of the PC: GPU: Sapphire RX 6700 CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboard: Asus ROG B450F RAM: 2x16GB CORSAIR PSU: Nox 650W Monitors: Main 1080@144, other 3 1080@60Hz Operating System & Version: Windows 11 23H2 GPU Drivers: Adrenaline 24.2.1 I have already tried this: - Uninstall drivers with DDU in safe mode. - Updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 23H2. - Switched all cables, bought new ones, changed from DP to HDMI all screens, etc. - Main monitor switch from 144 to 60Hz like the others 3. Even while using only two monitors at 1080p@60 each, still the same. - Updated BIOS and chipset. - XMP deactivated and reactivated. - Turned off Freesync on the main monitor. - Someone on Reddit advised to turn off MPO, it kind of helped but the Alt-Tab thing is still happening. I'm about to switch back to Nvidia since it doesn't seem that the card likes multi-monitors setup, but am I missing something? Thanks in advance if you read all this!

So I have been troubleshooting for days and took my pc to a local shop (with outstanding reviews) and after a week they gave it back with no diagnosis. My system specs, msi MEG X570 motherboard, ryzen 9 5950x cpu, msi 850gl psu. Trident z 3600mhz 32gb (4x8gb). I have been using a rtx 2060 short term and it works perfectly fine with this system. I decided to upgrade since rx6000 series cards can be found at great deals now and purchased a used msi gaming z trio 6800xt from Amazon. The seller said it was in like new condition and visually I agree, no wear on the pins, no scratches anywhere. I threw the new card in and turned the system on and the card lit up and the fans spin. But no display output. I even here the windows startup chime so I know the system is booting. If I throw the old 2060 back in it works like nothing is wrong. The 6800xt will wake my monitor but then says no signal and goes back to sleep. I have tried every port on the card. DP and HDMI. My motherboard/cpu combo has no integrated graphics. I have even tried plugging both cards in at the same time but had the same outcome of no display. I am still within the return window for a full refund through amazon and I'm leaning that way rn but I can't find this same card available anymore. Any insight on things to try?

Disabling my AMD 7800X3D IGPU for steam to open quicker (damn you AMD/Steam) makes my Radeon software either not download correctly or not want to open due to the IGPU being disabled. Is it even worth having AMD software installed if im not using the IGPU (I use A NVIDIA graphics card) and if it is how would I be able to download the software where having my IGPU enabled would not be a barrier. Thanks!

Does the AMD Radeon HD 6450 LP 1gb support crossfire? Specifically the Powercolor AX6450 is what I am wondering about.

I currently have a homebrew Windows 10 PC running a Zen 3 CPU and an NVIDIA 2080. My current setup works fine, but I'm wondering if I upgraded to the Zen 5 CPU (for the extra processors and the bigger cache), which uses a Radeon graphics subsystem, would that cause problems with the NVIDIA card? Would it be a pain to configure, since I don't need two graphics systems (and I like the NVIDIA card fine)? Should I use a different upgrade path? The mb is an AORUS X570, if that matters.

The most important thing is the PSU, would like to have no throttle squeaks on the video card. I think 850 gold should be enough for the video card and processor?

So I've noticed that especially in Microsoft flight simulator at night the anti-aliasing is particularly poor. It's not the best during the day but it's not that bad. Also, it seems worse at payware, third-party airports such as the one shown below. I've included screenshots of my settings, Radeon Settings and my best attempt to capture in-game screenshots. It's more noticeable when you move the camera around but i couldn't find a way to share a good video. My PC specs are; RX6800, Ryzen 5800x, 32GB of DDR4 3200 RAM, RM850 running on a View Sonic VX2718-2KPC 1440, 165hz monitor. I've not long switched from team green to fully team Red so there might be an obvious fix that I am missing. Thanks

The hardware: CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 GPU: Radeon RX 5700 Red Devil Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max Memory: 2 x Apacer Nox DDR4 8GB 3200Mhz PSU: Digital Alliance Dengen 550w 80+ Bronze The Problem: GPU led turns on but no display and all fans are not spinning. Not even when first started up. How it happened: This is my first build. After done building the PC I powered it on and it shows Mobo's logo and loading, BUT it suddenly shuts off. Tried it again and I got farther in the startup but it shuts off again. Then, I got to BIOS and its fine. CPU temps is 33oC, I let it runs BIOS for couple mins and its fine. Going back to boot windows, it booted after a minute the power shuts off again. I thought it might be the PSU that's failing (even though its brand new). The I tried putting on an old GPU of Nvidia 9600 GT. It booted to windows fine, just needed to change BIOS to CSM. After taking a break for couple hours, I tried the RX 5700 and it wont POST. EZ Debug LED showing VGA problem. The RGB on the GPU is lighting but fans not spinning. Putting the 9600 GT back in and it booted fine. So I'm pretty sure I short circuited the RX 5700. Welp, I'll be going to repair shop Question: Is my 550w PSU not enough for RX 5700 or is it just with my unit that's faulty? I even went out of my way and checked the voltage of every pin on 24 pins, 8 pins, and 8+6 pins. Its all fine. Bear in mind its GPU pins are pigtails. It doesnt have another 6 or 8 pins to connect. But I'm sure with pigtails at least it will boot. Just need to make sure if I needed new PSU or just need to repair the GPU.

TL;DR - I am looking for full AMD laptop for general use with coding, modeling and gaming tilt, and wondering why do I not see any new ones. Hello! Long time viewer, first time asker) I was quite blown away by original Zephyrus G14, and I am still thinking about buying 2022 model, with Radeon and great battery life. But after 22 was like a boom in technology (again), we got even better screens, even faster connectivity, even more powerful cooling. And I want to use my new laptop for at least half-a-decade. If all this time I will be longingly looking on cooler laptops that will come after, it won't be a pleasant experience. My original hope was that after AMD explosion tech landscape would calm down a bit and I would have a window of feature-full and future proof laptops, but, as we see, it didn't go anything like that. Most surprising "nothing like that" for me was and still is the fact that there is very little new AMD laptops, compared to Intel powered ones, especially with Radeon on board. None on this CES, pretty much, for example. Despite AMD clearly still being a strong contestant, even against latest Intel chips, so prominently featured on CES. So, what is the deal? Is it an Intel's monopolistic scheme, general manufacturing inertia, something else? Or is it something with my own information bubble? And I will be thankful for alternatives to Zephyrus G14 2022 model. It is quite close to what I would like, but better screen, for example, is obvious plus for a machine not intended to be swapped for another in like a decade.

Which one is the best GPU among these 3 if my purpose is almost everything? I want to pair them with R5 5600. Purpose in Details (Must Read): Purpose is almost everything. This is my first build and and as I'm just starting so I don't really know my main purpose of building that rig. So I don't know where I may end up. I may find video editing interesting, or graphics designing interesting. Or I could become a geeky programmer at the end. In a nutshell I want to find my interest and learn stuff in Productivity sector and want to build career in IT. And when I'll be burnt out or at the end of the day after learning and working on Productive stuff, I want to play some multiplayer FPS Games like Warzone, MW3 with my boys. And I won't upgrade the GPU anytime soon as I don't have much to spend. This is all I got. So please suggest me the best GPU based on my diverse purposes. You can suggest beyond these 3 GPUs if those are at the quite similar price point. Your help will be appreciated. Thank You.

I'm having this exact same issue: Video profiles do absolutely nothing in firefox, edge and vlc, but do work in chrome, however in the latter if i switch to full screen mode the video goes back to default despite the profiles still being selected in radeon software. I'm running driver version 20.8.1 with a rx 580, the motherboard is a msi gaming plus max and cpu is a ryzen 2600x, windows 10 pro 20.04. I have tried using the flags "media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled" set to true in about:config, i have tried with the h264ify extension to force firefox to use h264 on youtube, but the radeon video profiles simply refuse to work on firefox, edge (for whatever reason it doesn't work on edge for even though they do work in the video i added) and vlc, but it does work on chrome if i don't go to full screen mode and works perfectly on mpc-hc. Pls help.

ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 2 (RX6800XT PGD 16GO) - Newegg.com RX 6800 XT's are still around, at $50-80 less than the 7800 XT and on par in price with the RX 7700 XT, its hard to argue for RX 7000 series at this price point. Similarly, RX 6800's are still $400 USD which is also solid, but the extra $50 in this case is probably worth it. Mathematically, its about a 13% price increase for about 20% performance at an already impressive price/performance ratio. XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT 319 Radeon RX 6800 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 x16 Video Card RX-68XLAQFD9 - Newegg.com An RX 6800 for reference. Although if need be, that extra $50 could be spent better elsewhere, so always keep that in mind. Right now my top pick for sub $1000 gaming PC for most gamers would be a 12600k/6800XT. 12600k(f) regularly sitting between $150-$180 USD.

Hi all! Just looking to get some thoughts on this GPU. Here is the link to this listing I'm considering: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_558&item_id=239639. Does this seem like a good deal? I've looked on eBay and Facebook marketplace for the same card and it's either going for slightly cheaper or the same price. Please remember this is Canadian dollar. Thanks!!

Just installed my new sapphire pulse 6700 xt and after sitting in the lobby on fortnite for a while, it started having what sounded like coil whine, which went away and turned into slight rattling. Should I be concerned? I've heard that you have to break new gpu's in and they'll make those noises, but i just wanted to make sure.

Graphics card during install got scratched as shown in the pictures but was able to boot just fine and install windows. All of a sudden it shut off and and stopped displaying. Now when I try to boot again it has one long beep and two short beeps indicating to remove gpu. I’m using an MSI b550 vdh wifi motherboard. Should I try to reinstall my gpu or is it rip already??

Guys I am planning to build a pc for around the price of 600usd I am planning to use intel i5-12400f But in GPU section I'm bit confused whether to use intel arc a750 8gb or rx 6600 8gb The use cases of the pc is for gaming, coding (python, javascript,) using for data related fields, using llm model, sdxl. So please help me select the GPU both are at the same price in my country

Alright, this is going to be a little complex (;
Bodacious posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 2500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MW2, Warzone, Valorant, CS:GO, GTA, Streaming, General Use, NAS Server, Plex Server Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Ok so I have 2 builds that I have created, one is a barebones build that I want to start by making during Black Friday and the other is what I finally want to upgrade over the next few months to but I have to wait because of price. Barebones List:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RL4Brv I already have the m.2 drive, gpu, psu on hand so I'm holding of on upgrading those until early next year. I went with the NZXT H9 Flow because I felt that it would be most efficient for cooling and future upgradeability. Final PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mzkgPF With the final PC I added another 2tb m.2 which I would switch to my primary and then use the old one as a NAS Cache, and run raid 1 on the 2 seagate drives. I also plan to swap out my 3060 for a 7800xt . So I wanted to see if any body had any suggestions about this build and what monitor y"all think would best utilize my graphics card. My main concerns about this build are, is the power supply going to be able to handle the load of the new build without issues, Do I have to worry about overheating, How would I make this very expensive build look clean and organized visually. I don't necessarily mind the white and black look because I want the white case but would using white cable mod cables make the build more aesthetic or would it look weird with every other pc component being black. -
I have an AMD graphics card an RX570 w a samsung monitor 144hz and 1920x1080, i use 1440x1080 since i find myself more comfortable with that resolution on competitive games, i was messing around with amd adrenaline since my game didnt look smooth AT ALL, and i clicked and turned on “virtual super resolution” it did this weird thing as soon as i turned it on so i turned it off, i tried turning my pc off too but its still like this. it looks like theres "2 screens" adn when i go to 1920x1080 it fixes. for more details look at the attachments, if you can help please do. I'm currently looking into getting a GPU upgrade as my GTX1080 is showing its age. I will definitely buy a used card as my kidneys are preoccupied. To get a big noticeable upgrade from my GTX1080 I'm looking at something in the performance range of an RTX3080-3090 or RX6800XT-6900XT. The Radeon cards are 100-200€ cheaper than their Nvidia counterpart but: My problem is that for university and privately I do use Cuda quite a lot, whether it is for PyTorch, Stable Diffusion or LLMs. I can replace Cuda for PyTorch with ROCm on Linux and there are optimizations for Stable Diffusion. So there is more work involved in running Readeon but it would work. TLDR: But what other features and comfort, will I lose if I switch to Radeon instead of Nvidia?
