So unless there is a bug on the FOLDING.LAR.SYSTEMS site, I guess someone is GPU folding on an Apple silicon chip? If anyone knows what they are doing, I own an M3 Max Macbook Pro. Would be curious to try it on that.

About two month back, I purchased an old cheap Apple Power Mac G5... Just because I saw this Linus guy and the LTT-Team build their HackPro. Components in the heart of my machine: Intel i7 6700k Asus z170-A ASUS GTX 1080 Strix Since the guy I bought the G5 from sad that it didnt turn on, I didnt even try. I got strayed into the teardown, i found a leaking Liquidcooler-Unit and some parts with water damage. After everything got unscrewed and taken out of the case, it was time to take mesurements. While I waited for the Aluminium sheets to arrive, the design for motherboard-tray and rear io plate was going great. Templates were printed and Aluminium was cut ( buy Hand/Jigsaw... ) Turns out, it didnt fit (Spoiler, the final version isn't fitting perfectly either) The cutout for the fans in the back of the case needed to be a fear mm to the right. So I adapted my CAD file to the changes and redid the backplate. After cutting that again, it was time to mill the edges to fit flush with the original backplate, again... And getting the PCI-slotbracket in place with epoxy, again... The motherbaord-tray still needed some holes so i could bolt it to the original standoffs, cutouts for cables to go through and to safe some weight, of course. In the final version, there is a bridge in the coutout in the top right. Now it was actually looking really promising. I found some spare old parts to use for test fitting in my creation. The pcb-standoffs arrived. Since I only have metric thread cutting tools at home, i use the standoff it self to cut the threads. It worked out fine. The radiator braked in the front still needed some tabs to secure it to the Motherboard-tray, so I welded some on to it. It would have been possible to make it without the need to weld, but then I would have had to get a taller sheet of Aluminium, which was out of the question. So I ended up with this: I wanted to have my PSU securely mounted (not like some other people ). So i rigged a "nice" solution out of spare aluminium that was left over from cutting, which in the end would also be used as a SSD mounting option. And a HDD cage holder was also the result of rigging stuff with aluminium left overs. The HDD Cage was not in the final orientation though. I though I was set up pretty good from the inside, thats when i started drilling some holes. The original cutout for the powercord was taken and placed with some epoxy. (The original plug was used and soldered to a short extension to connect to the PSU and act as a passthrough) To really blend both parts together, I used some filler and smoothed it all out. Now it was time for painting, as i am always short on money, its ghetto rigging time again. Everything was sanded and properly prepped. After redoing the main two parts were the evenness of the paint matters the most, I am still not 100% satisfied, but it is good enough for the time being. In the end, if i dont like the look of them anymore and I have the time. I can just swap them, since they are not modded at all. For front io, i used the existing plug, cut of the wires and soldered the on/off switch, the power LED and the headphonejack to some longer cable i harvested out of an older case. The USB 2.0 Port was repleced with a USB 3.0 Port and some epoxy. The Firewire Port just sits there without a purpose in life. That is all I can do without the real parts in it. Its time to disasamble the old machine. I took some good bye pictures. Don't worry, these aren't all My cpu isnt the newest anymore, that means there is no warranty to be voided, so lets chop the head of with some cheap chinese tool and apply some liquid metal ( dont worry about the professional sketch in the background ). To check if I killed it, I just used my "testbench". The Problem is, that because I dont have a second pc, i was so eager to have my source of addiction back in my life, i took zero pictures of the normal build process... So this is all I got: The cutout behind the Motherbaord was usefull to maneuver the cables around and also helped the plate to screw down, by leaving more room for the 24 pin extation connector. Here is almost everything in now. I still needed to make a new mount for the reservoir. The rear radiator mountingpoints didn't aline with the rear io plate holes. (there is the mistake I mentioned earlier) I solved it by cutting away some sheetmetal in the case to make it fit. At this stage, its almoste done. Gpu support bracket is made, Pump was mounted, SSD's and HDD's are mounted, tubes were bend and front panel stuff was connected. Filling the loop was very easy and no leaks were discovered. I added a LED lighting system with some brackets and used a "normaly closed" switch to turn the lights off when the sidepanel is closed. Ready is my somewaht sleeper build. If it is ok I would poste the CAD files and the techinical drawings for the rear io backplate, motherboard-tray, front radiator mount, HDD mount and PSU mount. I would reseat my gpu and the power cables that were connected, the computer worked fine the rest of the day. I left my pc on that night to see if I could avoid a boot error but when I started to run a game it would crash and the vga light would come on again. After trying to troubleshoot the software side of the PC (drivers, updates, ect.) I could get it to boot, but every time I tried to play a game or run a benchmark it would crash (both my monitors would go black and my pc would keep running as if it restarted but there would be no signal and occasionally a VGA light), except for Cinebench which I understand as being a more CPU intensive test. All the GPU tests were crashing so I thought It might have been my GPU. I had a friend tell me to uninstall the GPU drivers and reinstall them which seemed to make my pc work longer before a crash. Some of these crashes were just black screen with my pc running and some were the blue screens, but the errors were not the same, they were different every time. I happened to open my case and install this aftermarket cpu cooler that i had bought previously and after hooking everything back up my game was running fine, this was yesterday and I played for about 4 hours. This morning I got the vga light and my Pc would not boot again so I was going to see if it really was my GPU and switched PCIE slots on the motherboard. This allowed it to boot and so far has ran through the 3D Mark benchmark perfectly fine. I would assume my Motherboard main PCIE slot is going bad, but all of my components were brand new and still under warranty. The slot itself looks perfectly fine as well (I used a gpu stand to hold it up and prevent sagging). If this is not a pcie slot problem, does anybody know what could be the cause of the crashes? Lucky my pc is working fine now but tomorrow it might be another vga light.

Hey. I was wondering, since the release of the Corsair Glaive RGB Pro, I haven't seen as many complaints about the double clicking problem. Does it still persist today in the newer model?

I have an MSI Z270 Gaming Carbon Pro(bios version:E7A63IMS.190), with an i7 7700k. I've looked into it before buying the RAM and could not find a reason to why this wouldn't work with it. So I am curious if there is any other reason at all. When I try to enable XMP in the bios it takes a long time for it to try something, and then tells me to reset to default values, it does exactly the same when I try to manually switch it to 3600 or any other value above 2133 for that matter. I'll drop links of my hardware at the bottom. Was just curious if anyone had any idea if I could fix this in any way at all, or if I should contact where I bought the RAM to see if they could exchange it for me. If I can provide any more information please let me know and I'll try to do this as soon as possible. Thanks in advance! So hi guys, I have been noticing something weird about my RAM (CMW16GX4M2C32) Sometimes the animations of the RGB work just fine sometimes they just freeze. It even has a triangle when i hover over it, nothing happens. The ram itself works perfectly fine. I dont have any clue why it does this. Thanks in advance guys!

Hey all, I recently bit the bullet and went full wireless for my mouse and keyboard (Highly Recommend). I picked up a Razer Naga Pro, and a Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro during Cyber Monday. Unfortunately, the Naga Pro use Micro USB, and the Blackwidow uses USB C for charging. To keep the clean aesthetic, I wanted to only have one cable visible to charge both of them if needed. I was wanting to go with Volta Style Cable and just keep the small magnetic plugs in the peripherals however the Naga Pro has very little clearance where the cable plugs into the mouse. Has anyone used one of these and if so does it fit? Another option would be to get a Micro USB to USB C adapter, but that would not be ideal as those adapters tend to be a little chunky for my liking. Any advice or input on the matter would be great! Hi there I'm a film student about to finish his degree in film and Tv. I plan on freelancing next year and i need to upgrade my current laptop, a 2011 13 inch Macbook pro with 16gb of ram and a 2.7ghz i7 processor. I don't have a big budget being a student and realistically can only afford the cheapest mac that can get the job done. I was originally looking ay getting the 15 inch 2015 macbook pro with the top of the line processor and 16gb of ram. Now i see that the M1 Macbook air is out and causing all this buzz and i was wondering if that would be a better option. Where i live in South Africa the two choices are around the same price and I'm struggling to pick between the two. I love the idea of having a 15 inch screen and 16 gb of ram with the 2015 mac but wonder if the M1 chip is worth giving those up for? Let me know your thoughts thanks>

So i have a HP pavilion power 15 and when i first used it a year ago i noticed that it was running half performance on games. i have tried everything from bios to tweaking voltage and throttle stop ect... but its just stuck at 624mhz and drops to 244mhz every 20 seconds for like 30 seconds its runing like a 300$ laptop and there is no fix apparently even hp doesn't have a answer to this I really need an answer because i cant return it and hp is telling me there is nothing they can do some one with the same problem pleasE! Today I put an order in for a Legion 5 Pro 6th Gen (specs below) and I ended up paying a whopping $2,549.99 CAD (before taxes). I started watching some reviews and Jarrod's Laptops recommended that the RAM be replaced because of the timings reducing gaming performance. So for the price of 2 new sticks (about $150) I could just upgrade to a better laptop. Then soon after I noticed that Dell has a much better laptop for not very much more money. The Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 (specs below) fully maxed (after a $100 off coupon) would be $2,949.99 CAD (before taxes). Now Im considering cancelling my order from lenovo and buying the dell. I keep reading RAVING reviews about the Legion 5 Pro, even Linus made a video about it going on about how awesome it was... Is the Legion 5 Pro the better option here or is the Alienware a better offering considering the price/circumstances? Heyo, first time posting on the forum. I wanted to ask, does anyone have any idea if the thermal pad mod for the M1 MacBook air would also be effective on the M1 Pro? I found a single video on YouTube that seems to indicate yes, especially if you tune the fan curve (though the modder seemed disappointed with the results). Nevertheless, I wanted to try to get some advise one way or the other from someone who might know better (or maybe even has some experience c: ) Appreciate any insight!

Can I flash the bios update without needing a CPU on the ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 ‘PRO’? I know you can’t on the other Tuf boards but someone online said you could on the PRO without a CPU. Just need to know if this is true or not. The only CPU I’ll have is the Ryzen 7 5800x.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help explain what the difference between the Ryzen Pro Cpu and Regular Ryzen Cpu is. I've checked on AMD's website but all i can see is that the Pro has a lower base clock speed and it has a lower tdp. Is the pro version better for running AutoCad maybe? I was anyone has found a solution to my current issue. I can't find anything besides purchasing a internal USB 2.0 hub/splitter. CPU: 5900X Cooler: Corsair H150i MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX X570 I-Gaming Controllers: Commander Core & Commander PRO Fans: x3 HD120 RGB, x3 ML120 RGB, x2 HD140 RGB My mobo only has x1 USB 2.0 header, so I initially plugged in my Commander PRO into the mobo, then plugged in the Commander Core from the H150i into the USB hub on the PRO. But when I do this and check Device Manager (GENERIC USB HUB [yellow triangle]) & iCue doesn't show up. I tried uninstalled drivers and reinstalled from device manager, updated my firmware (Commander PRO) & software (iCue), I did a hard reset on the Commander PRO and uninstalled and reinstalled iCue based on Corsair Support email i attached. Idk at this point. From basic googling, it seems like it's an X570 issue, but some users have told me they never ran into this issue using a similar setup. I ordered a NZXT internal USB 2.0 header as a workaround for now, but I was wondering if there is a fix so I dont have to rely on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been thinking about buying a smartwatch for years. I use Android and do not want an apple watch even thought they are the best ones out. I just have never been able to justify the price of a smartwatch. On TechQuicke about the new Samsung watches it was mentioned that used wearables are really cheap. Why is that, because a quick ebay search had a ton of Samsung watch 4s for sub $75 (US). That is low enough that I can justify taking a shot on one. I just am surprised about the huge price drop. Are there issues with used wearables I don't know if?
