I don't need crazy frames or insane resolutions when I game. And most of my 3d work is for 3d printing and part designs so the demands from that end shouldn't be insane either. The current pc runs well, but I can't justify getting into newer games. And I really want to play things like Baulders' Gate 3 and Helldivers. So the GPU in this build is a bit of a placeholder. I currently have RTX 2070S 8gb - which would be alright until that time except I will be upgrading to the Alienware AW3225QF once it comes out in my neck of the woods. So I need something capable of okay 4K gaming so feel free to suggest a cheaper alternative that would still be capable of that. Silence! - I'd like this build to be as silent as possible. That affected the choice of the case as well as the cooler and the fans. I reason that with more fans they will cool the PC more efficiently so they will have to spin at lower RPM, thus being quieter in general. I know some cases advertise maximum silence, insulation, and all that. But from what I heard the airflow there is really restricted. So your fans end up working overtime to cool the PC. I'd like to hear your suggestions in regards to that as well - how to make this build as silent as it can be given the high-end power hungry components? Note in regards to PC parts stores: the most popular shops for PC parts are: CZC, and Alza (those are the most popular, but there are sites like Mironet and Tsbohemia. You could also use Herueka - not really a seller but it should show you all of the shops that are selling that thing and their prices). I like CZC the most so I am mostly using them. Everything except the PC case that is not available in their shop. PC Part List: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D - Seems like a strong choice for gaming as well as programming. No CPU bottlenecks for me. CPU Cooler: The legendary Noctua NH-D15 - BARELY fits in the case lol (according to max cooler height) MB: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI - AMD B650 - a lot of IO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth... Considering downgrading this one a bit maybe. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are required though. Any suggestions? GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti VENTUS 3X 16G OC, 16GB GDDR6 - as I said, a bit of a placeholder before 50XX. Any suggestion for a cheaper card that would fit the criteria described above? Dark Power Pro 13, ATX 3.0 - 1300W - I am really unsure about this one. As I said I want to get a high-end 50XX card in the future, but for the build right now 800w PSU would be enough. Do you think I should go for 800w instead and then upgrade to a new PSU in the future? But that wastes both time and money (buying a new PSU as well as time to re-cable everything) - I hope to avoid that with the 1300w PSU. So even if the 5090 would consume more power than 4090 (you need 1000w for that one right?) I should still be covered. But if it would require more than 1300w (oh gods help us) then this would be a waste of money. Either way, I want a high-efficiency PSU with the increased power consumption of this build. Budget (including currency): 100-230 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details Currently running a NZXT h500i with a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax and a 3070ti FE I am upgrading to AM5, and have the motherboard and cpu on order, I am looking around for a case to upgrade to as I am reusing a big portion of my old rig to build a rig for my dad. The parts I'm taking from my old rig is the NH-D15, the 3070ti and my hx1000i PSU. I knew that the clearance of the cooler would be something I need to keep in mind when picking a case, which I've used Noctua's own compatibility centre to see. I've landed on the Lian Li o11 Air Mini, max CPU cooler hight for the case is shown as 170mm which is enough for the cooler. The issue I am having before ordering the case is that when I had the build set into PC Part Picker it gave me a note of the PSU size compared to the case. The PSU is 180mm whereas the case has a max of 200mm, which is within the confines of it, but I don't know how much of an issue that could be without having the case in front of me. I can't find a reliable source of whether this is fine for the build as the only info I can find about it is an old reddit post that hasn't been replied to.

Had a manual fall out of my closet. Well, my 5 year old son's closet, but i assume it got there from me, lol. Got to reading to remember the good old days of 2005 PC building, but then i got a bit angry. How have we had onboard Gigabit LAN from the IDE, DDR1, PCI(non-e still) days and are *just now* getting something slightly better? Like you could pick (literally, though not confirmed) any other bus/connector/spec on this board and show we are 5x-10x better/faster (or more) almost 20 years later, but not onboard wired networking? To save anyone looking it up, multigig Ethernet (2.5Gbps, 5Gbps) as a spec was ratified in 2016 but i can't remember seeing it wide till what, 2021? 2022? Yet we get new wifi routers out BEFORE the spec is even finalized. Again, wtf? Ok pointless rant over. One last pic for nostalgia. Also who still has nightmare about IRQ assignments? And i kinda miss audio cables to the CD drive.

Dear Friends, I have trouble installing Ubuntu, after flashing the USB Drive in the old hardware with removing the old M.2 (Windows) that I switch to new fresh M.2 Drive. Can someone help me, because somehow it doesn't detect the Thumb-Drive, And the CPU fan have trouble it seems. Thanks

Hello, My current PC from 2014 (only GPU updated last year) is getting old and I`m looking for a new one. With current GPU prices I`m thinking of staying with current GPU for a year or so and update the rest. Current GPU: Radeon RX 5600 XT GAMING OC 6G Location EU and budget up to ~1200 € tops. PC is used daily for work and some mid-range gaming. Going with 32GB of RAM as sometimes I need to have 1-2 small Linux VMs for testing purposes. Plan is to buy something which would be efficient for another 5 years ( considering GPU update at some point ). At first thought about 10700KF + Z490 motherboard, but after some reviews I wonder would it be better solution for 10600KF+Z590 motherboard? Would this allow M.2 SSD for me and possible upgrade to 11th gen CPUs later ? I.E: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nnss/saved/tNWygs (parts selected based on what I can buy locally). This setup is about ~1100€. Some open questions I hope you can help with: 1. Is it worth waiting for 11600KF? Comparing prices, it`s about 20% more in price. Or maybe just stick to 10700KF? 2. My plan was basically to make an entry-level/budget VR-pc. I will be getting a case from a friend of mine and i was going to use the stock CPU cooler (and maybe upgrade from that later). HDD, SSD and PSU will be used from my old PC. One question i explicitly would like to have answered is, whether i should go with the i5-10400, the i5-10400F or the RYZEN 5 3600. I considered all of them and just clicked on the cheapest option for the time being.

So one time I did ask about combo with AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU (that was stupid) but I did have a reason. So I have a new PC with AMD Ryzen 3 2200GE with integrated graphics vega 8 on motherboard Gigabyte A320M-S2H, 16 GB ram from good ram on one stick 2 drives the first one I did buy is Samsung SSD 980 m.2 500 GB and the second one is WD drive 1 TB. I am planing to change the power supply because it's no name. I am changing it for silentiumPC vero L3 600w it is good quality, cheap and safe, but I don't know about the GPU I don't want to buy some expensive GPU but at the same time I want to run good with some games at little more quality so if you could to recommend the GPU (and maybe some others upgrades) that would be a very helpful.

I have recently bought MSI B550 Tomahawk, to go with my new Ryzen 5 5600x, to upgrade my system. However after putting everything together the build would refuse to POST. To clarify i have done everything I could have thought to do, checked all my connections, flashed the bios. After all of that it seemed like the cpu was the issue preventing the PC from posting, so I bought a new Ryzen 5 5600x only to find out that it fixed absolutely nothing. My only conclusion is that the CPU socket on the motherboard may be dead, I have attached a video to better explain the situation. So I have Noctua NH-D15 and I have nzxt h510. When I close glass panel, the fan of the cooler touches the glass part. Is it alright or should I remove the panel?
