Yep, this has been waiting for a while. My review on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Gigabyte Windforce 3X OC 2GB. First off, the card itself. It's not amazingly beautiful, but it is by no means ugly. The looks seem to be a love or hate thing, but I am on the wall. It looks more in place in a HAF 932 than in a C70 or Arc Midi R2. Next, some specs. Taken from GPU-Z Now that that's out of the way, let's talk numbers. To be honest, this is not going to be about graphics performance. I can play BF4 at Ultra settings at 1080p very comfortably, in the 60s for FPS. The issue (and the meaning of the title) comes in here. The GPU simply runs hot. It's not GK104. My friend has an EVGA ACX SuperClocked card and it never goes over 65C. But, my Gigabyte Windforce card, of which is advertised as being able to dissipate 450W of heat, is not doing it's job properly. The card actually reached 84C with the stock thermal paste, yet somehow it was fine 2 months prior. I then replaced it with IC Diamond 7. I saw a decrease to 76-78C, which is not bad, but still unimpressive. Overall, it's not a bad card. I will be moving my rig in my basement since the temps are a lot cooler down there, but I don't know what to say for this card. I love it, but it is far from perfect. If I had to give it a rating, it gets a solid 9/10, but I would still recommend an MSI Lightning.

Hey guys, I bought a new PC gaming rig a couple of days ago and ran into some problems with the Graphics Card (I assume). The card I bought was a Zotac NVidia GTX 770. The screen goes black quite often on WIndows home screen (Windows 7 Pro) and stops responding in games as well. I thought it might be due to outdated drivers, so I updated drivers (with Clean Install) and still get the same problem: The screen blacks out, comes back and displays the error message - "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version 335.23 stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I googled the error message and read that it might be due to bug in the latest driver. So, I uninstalled the drivers in Safe mode, uninstaled the additional softwares as well and installed the driver that came with the Card in the CD. But, I still get the same problem with same error message, but with the corresponding Driver Version Number, i.e., Version 320.08. I have no idea what the problem is, but an estimated guess might say it's due to Driver or maybe Overheating. My PC Specs: ASUS Z87-A MoBo Intel 4770k Processor (with stock Heat Sink) Zotac NVIDIA GTX 770 16 GB RAM (2x8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz) Antec 750W Power Supply (80+ Bronze Rating) Windows 7 Pro running on Samsung EVO 120 GB SSD Additional Seagate 1TB HDD PS: I couldn't find a good cabinet so I went with a cheap one that doesn't provide a great cooling solution So I wonder, if the bad cabinet could be causing the Graphics Card to overheat. But then again, I get the problem even on Windows Home Screen without any additional programs running. I'm stumped and I'd be glad if someone could help me out Thanks guys!

So I really wanted my next system to be SLI, and I really wanted to make a system that could run games at high settings and at 120fps so I can take full advantage of my monitor. After hearing all the problems that come with SLI, I get a little disappointed, I would rather have a great 60 fps experience over a bad 120 fps experience with a lot of problems. Basically here is the pros and cons of these 2 options I have: 770s in SLI Pros: -More powerful - I couldn't find a a direct performance comparison between the 780 ti and sli 770s, but I did fine one on sli 760s vs the 780 ti, and the end result was that the 760s performed about 10% more than a single 780 ti, so with 2 770s i would imagine somewhere between a 15% to 25% increase across the board -Bling factor - I can just imagine having 2 of those glowing geforce gtx logos shining in my eyes right now -More Efficient (sort of) - I mean gpu efficiency and in no way power efficiency, but anyway I would imagine running 2 cards in SLI would put less stress on each card than having one card be stressed doing all the work resulting in long life of the cards. -More CUDA - You can never have enough CUDA... right? So for programs that use CUDA acceleration this will be faster than any single gpu solution. Cons: -Less Efficient - Now i'm talking about power, 2 of these would require a minimum of a 750w PSU instead of a 600w min for the 780 ti -Less RAM - The cards are both 2gb so even in SLI its still only 2gb, this doesn't really matter for 1080p games know, but its a good thing to futureproof for -Older GPU(s) - Based off of the GL104, which came out 2 years ago and just got rebranded -Requires Larger Case - With SLI this is a one of the biggest things I hate your limited to atx or bigger, and you can get mATX to work, but if you want good airflow there's only like 3 good 5 slot mATX cases, this also means less room for expansion -Lack of SLI Support - Not every games supports it 780 Ti Pors: -Best Single Gaming GPU - Lets face it the TItan Black isn't a gaming GPU its a workstation GPU that nvidia threw into the GTX line for fun, making the 780 ti the fasted game gpu in the world so performance is closest to an mid range SLI solution -More Efficient GPU - Both power and processing wise, only requires 600w psu, and the gpu is a lot newer than the on in the 770, the GK110 is also used in the titan black so you know you can overclock to achieve close to titan black performance, -Fits anywhere - From Mini ITX cases to the big boys -More RAM - Again another future proofing thing if I have the system for a long time, because games are just getting higher res textures, more particles, advanced physx is getting more advanced so the more ram is going to come in handy. Cons: All of the 770s in SLI reversed So what do you guys think, do you think I can still get buy with a 780 ti? I can still play games on ultra with it obviously I just won't get the 120fps I wanted, but I have so many more options with just a single card, more expansion slots for stuff, more power to play around with. Do you think I should go with my original intention of making a 120 fps rig, or go with a single card and all of its benefits? Always been a single card guy, but I really want a 120 fps experience, but the problems that can come with SLI, the biggest being support for games, aren't worth it if I ever encounter them. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! (Also I don't want to see one post that literally just says "A single powerful card is better than 2 low end ones" I see this all the time, basically post a description, opinion, or suggestion, but I don't want to see this line once! And sorry this thing got so big, I didn't expect it, but I really want my next build to be exactly what I want it to be, so I want your guys opinion on this decision I have to make)

Recently my GTX 770 is having performance cap issue i've tried to downgrade the driver but it's still happening. I realize that when this happen the power TDP of the gpu always running around 50-65 and normally it'll run at around 95% TDP i need help !!

So what happened to EVGA's reference 770? I can't find it on any site and, and on evga's site it just says auto-notify when back in stock. But I don't recall this reference cooler being in high demand, as the ACX cooler models have better cooling, higher clocks, and are cheaper. But I really like the reference design because of its blower style fan, and it uses a vapor chamber for cooling. Also who wouldn't want the glowing GTX logo that you can program? So is this card: A) Discontinued B) In High Demand C) In Production Ramp Down. Maybe this is hint that the 870 and 880 are coming sooner than we think, but for now I was really looking forward to getting this card soon, and it just seems to have disappeared. Anyone know what's happening?

I am building a gaming PC for the first time. I would like to play games like Watch dogs, COD Ghosts, Battlefield at high settings. I am happy if all upcoming games will work well until next two years from now. Overclocking: Well I don't want to play with the processor (Life cycle of the processor. Don't want to play with cooling stuff or other technicalities) . So I don't need any "k" at the end. Here's what I have decided to buy but still there is confusion about AMD R9 280x or Nvidia GTX 770 !, The power supply gonna be sufficient or not ! and Mobo gonna handle everything. So please put your comments about the config. Processor : Intel 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 4670 i5 4th Generation Processor Motherboard : MSI Z87-G43 Motherboard PSU : Corsair VS550 550 Watt PSU RAM : Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 1600MHz Main Confusion : AMD r9 280x (Asus>MSI>Sapphire (My preference as per the price and service in India. Still I would prefer better cooling design over service ) OR Nvidia GTX 770 (MSI>Zotac) I am going to use single 27"monitor with 1080p. Nothing planned for Crossfire or SLI. Does that extra VRAM really matters ? What you guys think about AMD Mantle ? It would be great to see specific reasons why to choose one GPU over the other. Thank You.

I am going to buy a 1200€ rig, but since it is quite a lot of money I'm spending here, I'm going to ask the pros (hence this forum) to confirm my build or give me advice if I'm going to make the most stupid mistake of my life the specs are: MSI Z87-G55 motherboard Intel Core i7 4770K Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB Corsair Vengance 8gb 2 sticks (blue) Fractal Design Define R4 Arctic White with Window Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD WD 1TB 7200rpm Blue Seasonic M12II EVO 750W I will use it for normal gaming but mainly for AE and 3Dstudio redering. I would like to keep the option of a 2nd 770 open and OC the i7 to about 4 or 4.2 (not too much) Are there compatibility issues, suggestions, overkill? Or should I buy it as is? Sincerely ThePyCoder
