Howdy. Joined this forum to ask this question that I figured you guys would know the suggested answer to. So, my pc's kinda getting outdated (Had it since 2018 and never upgraded it other than doubling ram from 16gb to 32gb and replacing the ssd), but I've rarely had the money to even get a new gpu for it. However, pretty soon I will amass enough spare money to get a modern-day mid-end gpu, which will still be better than my 1070ti. Now, I plan to use this theoretical new gpu for more than just gaming; I have big plans for a personal project involving AI and ML, and moore's law (despite its recent demise according to NVIDIA) will really help with the jump from 1070ti to whatever gpu I decide on, as there will be more tensor cores, more efficiency, faster ai processing, etc. Note that I need a gpu that can play say the best looking ue5 games at ~90fps (good for vr) as well as train and run 5GB+ pytorch/tensorflow2 ai models without crying in agony and anguish (as my 1070ti tends to do when faced with running a text to text transformer model from hugging face that's over 4GB (funnily enough though it handles stable diffusion just fine at 512px resolution)). The current candidates so far are: A770 (as it has better ai stuff, although I heard it's poop for dx9 gaming, and a lot of pc games I play use dx9 so that stinks), 3060 12GB (as it has more VRAM, which would be useful for AI; my 8GB 1070ti still struggles with some NLP models), and 3060ti (the fastest of the bunch for ai, although it only has 8GB VRAM). (Raytracing would merely be a bonus here.) What are your thoughts?

GPU: Msi GTX 1600 Ti CPU: i5 9400F RAM: 24 GBs of 2600mHz I usually run the game at 40-50 fps when i've seen benchmarks on youtube with the same setup and reaching up to 100 fps stable, i'm not really sure what the problem is or why the game runs with really low fps, i've tried a lot of "fixes" like setting the game priority to in normal in task manager or enable uac virtualization or even ISLC but none have worked for me. Anyone with any ideas that can help me?

Alright, hello to everybody, this is my first post in here and I hope I'm not already breaking any rules and such. Since my current rig is kinda... outdated. (we're talking AMD Phenom II x6. Back to 2010), I was thinking of doing something along the lines of a mid-end build. The parts I decided to pick are: Intel i5 4690K (getting that for 204 dollars second hand) DeepCool Maelstrom 120T (that's around 45 dollars) ASRock Fatal1ty H97 Performance (121 dollars) PowerColor R9 280X (second hand for 144 dollars) Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB RAM (47 dollars) Total of 561 dollars. These are the parts I have and am using now. Another HyperX Fury 8GB RAM (currently using) A-Data Premier 240GB SSD 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD CM Silent Pro M2 1000W PSU Thermaltake Versa H25 (chasis) I will also be buying an ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor for around 255 dollars (second hand) Now that everything is laid in here, my idea was simply overclocking the i5 a bit, probably to 4.3/4.4 if it's stable. But I had that idea while I had the Corsair H100 water cooler on the list. Turns out that I can't fit that damn thing in my current chasis. Will there be another way to put an H100 in there or should I just go with the Maelstrom 120T? Also, should I change something for better results, I am open for any sort of help.

Hello, it's my first post in this Forum, so if this is the wrong place for this thread please apologise. I'm planning on building a new PC soon, because my old one is nearly 7 years old, it has a Intel Pentium E6500, 2x2.93 GHz, 8Gb RAM and a NVIDIA GT 640(newer, original card was a GT 6600 or something like that). I hope you can just give me advices on the components i'm planning to use. Here's a part list: Intel i5-6500, because Skylake is cool, DDR4 CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, because it's a good, cheap cooler ( i think= ASUS Z170M-PLUS mATX, it's mATX, so its portable, and it has M.2 Corsair VEngeance LPX 16GB kit (2x8), i hear good stuff about Corsair Vengeance Asus GeForce GTX960 4 GB OC, it has a reasonable performance at good price, and i'm a NVIDIA guy, but if someone suggest a AMD card i will have a look at it, and if its better i will take AMD Thermaltake Core V21 mATX "Cube" I like cube-cases Corsair CX 430W 80+ Semi-modular, completely modular are too pricy. Hey guys, First at all what the build is for and some info: 1. Aiming: Playing games (CS:GO, GTA V, Total War, ..). Some surfing aswell 2. Budget/Location: 1100€-1300€; Germany 3. 60hz 1080p monitor 4. Mice and keyboard are not needed 5. Upgrading from an old "Medion Akoya" (6yrs) I am planning to build a gaming pc for a friend of mine, he asked me if I could pick the parts and put them toghter since he isn't very experienced with pc building. So I need some help from you guys wich building is "better" (more optimized; price performance ratio). I also would like if you guys know some better parts for both builds to make them "perfect". Hey guys! I'm going to embark on building my second PC soon, and this time it's for my sister who would use it for work most of the time with some gaming. She's not a big gamer, but she wants to play The Sims 4 and Grand Theft Auto V on the PC when both games come out, and hopefully at "High" settings. As we know, the specification requirements are not known yet so I'm just trying to get the best performing components while staying close to the budget. My budget must not exceed: USD$1333/ CAD$1397/ EUR$1009 Things to take note! Because demand for individual computer components is not very high in my country, it tend to be more costly than those found in other countries, and as far as I know, shipping is not the way to go for my location. Also, my location is right on the equator so it's summer year long and the average temperature is around 32 degrees Celsius or 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Hence I'm reluctant to overclock. Looking on the bright side, the budget does not include peripherals, which would be taken care of separately. Below is a list of parts I have in mind with their respective prices, broken down into different currencies. (Apologies to those I've left out ) Approximate sum of parts above (Corsair 400R, H77, both storage drives, 660Ti, HX650 power supply, Dell S2340 IPS): USD: 1183.20 / 1333 CAD: 1240.40 / 1397 EUR: 895.30 / 1009 *** I have a few dilemmas regarding the upcoming build, hence this post. I can't decide on the form factor, the motherboard, the graphics card, the monitor, the PSU and whether to get an additional CPU cooler. (That's almost everything.) Originally I wanted a mid-tower case, but a mini-ITX is really cool and the BitFenix Prodigy seems like a great case. But I've read online that there are compatibility issues with some power supplies, so I'll have to look into that. Also, there will not be any PCI-E slot available for a LAN Adapter so I will need a motherboard which encompasses that. And I have no idea which motherboards on the market features this. Secondly, I can't distinguish between different motherboards, such as Asus P8H77-M LE and P8H77-V etc. This applies to Z77, Z78 and all that, though I'm aware some allows overclocking. The variations drive me mad. So please recommend me a motherboard which is within the price range or comment on those I've eyed on. Thirdly, the graphics card. 7950 is out of the question. For some reason 7950 cards are particularly expensive here and the MSI GTX660Ti Power Edition is the only 660Ti that fits the price. Any 7870 card would probably be fine, so go ahead and recommend me some great performing ones Fourth, I can't differentiate the monitors as well, other than IPS etc. I'm not sure which I should get. Lastly, I'm unsure if I should get a CPU cooler. I probably will if it stays under the budget, hence I'm leaving the prices out first. So throw me your opinions guys! If you think I should go for a mini-ITX build perhaps you could give me some tips and component recommendations! Thanks for your time!
