  1. Hello, I have been having stuttering and low performance issues on my desktop pc for a very long time now and I am unsure of what the problem could be. I just recently upgraded nearly everything in my pc and I still continue to have stuttering problems. I have ran tests on all my components and none seem to be faulty or underperforming. None of my temps are out of wack and all stay at cool temperature even under stress. I just recently reset my pc and updated to windows 11, but this too seemed to have no effect. Some games I typically run on this pc are Fortnite, Minecraft, COD, and Roblox which aren't crazy demanding games, but I still have problems running the games at high and consistent framerate even at low settings. Like I said, nearly all of my components are new and did not fix my problem with low fps and stutters. I just recently went to a friend's house who has a pc of similar specs with a RTX 3060 and an i7 13700k which runs infinitely smoother and better in every way. Please help me as I am completely lost on what my problem could be. Here are my specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x GPU: RTX 3060ti MOBO: Gigabyte A520M S2H RAM: OLOy DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 3200 MHz (only old component) PSU: Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ White

(Assuming the steps below don't empower you to fix it yourself.) 02/07/2024 Nvidia GPU and affecting web browser scrolling? Check out this driver: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5519/~/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-551.46 ASSUMPTIONS MADE IN THIS GUIDE: That your issue isn't a KNOWN ISSUE. To check, search the AMD, Nvidia and Intel Knowledge bases for the word "stutter" and see if they list any known issues that describe your issue. The PC boots and runs with some modicum of stability The GPU(s) display to your monitor without issues (i.e., this is not a guide for blank screen issues during boot!) If it's issues with games, ideally it's not game-specific (You're welcome to try this guide, but it's less-likely to work if the issues only happen in a specific game) The operating system is Windows 10 or Windows 11 HOUSE KEEPING: Before asking for help (do not reply here), do all of these (house keeping) things first: ASKING FOR HELP COLLECT DATA FOR TROUBLESHOOTING FIRST MAKING YOUR NEW TOPIC/POST If you want fast, expedient help from the volunteers, make a new topic in the Troubleshooting forum (not here in the Guides) Already have a post in Troubleshooting? 3. Hi! I'm having some weird issues with frametime spikes creating judder in some games. Using X-Plane 11 as an example (although this has been observed in other demanding games). When my gpu usage is nearing 99% i notice the frametime becomes very erratic and spiking at a very short near-regular interval. This causes the feeling of stutter even at higher fps. This is forcing me to decrease all my settings until i'm able to consistently achieve 60fps and lock it using rtss or lock it to 30 fps, anything else creates those stutters. I've searched the entire internet for what is causing this. I tested every possible combination of vsync and gsync but i'm at a loss. I have a new GPU coming in a few days and i hope that'll fix it but in case it doesn't, i need to find out what is doing this. Gigabyte RTX 3060 OC 12GB Fury 32GB DDR4 3600 Aorus Elite B550M Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  4. Hello, For the better part of a year, I have been having microstutters in most games despite having a decent rig. Minecraft, Fortnite, Warzone, Valorant, CSGO, and battlebit (battlebit seems to just hitch for a lot of people) have been my main games. Most of these games don't require a crazy system to run well, yet I still have problems with constant microstutters at any graphical settings. I have run many tests and benchmarks and it seems that none of my hardware is faulty and runs just as anyone else's would. My temps are great, no thermal throttling, around 35-40c on idle for both CPU and GPU with around 60-80c when playing most games. My FPS seems to be fine in games, yet I still get microstutters in all games. One of the main things I noticed when I microstutter, is a spike or decrease in either CPU or GPU usage which causes my frametime as well as framerate to fluctuate. This sounds like a bottleneck in most cases, but I do not think I have one as I have seen this combo be used and tested with no problems. Please help me or give suggestions as I have been trying to fix my problems for months. Thanks. My original rig was: GTX 1660 Ryzen 5 1600 2x8 GB ram 3200mhz ASUS PRIME A320M-K Motherboard Vetroo V5 CPU cooler Thermaltake Smart White 500w PSU I upgraded to: RTX 3060ti (and a 3060 but found a better deal on the 3060ti so I swapped) (also still got the same stutters on 3060) Ryzen 5 3600 same ram Gigabyte A520M S2H Motherboard same CPU cooler Thermaltake Smart White 600w PSU UserBenchmarks: Game 114%, Desk 94%, Work 108% CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - 87.4% GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060-Ti - 128.5% SSD: WD Blue SN550 NVMe PCIe M.2 500GB - 226.5% SSD: T-force 1TB 1TB - 101.9% RAM: Unknown CL16-20-20 D4-3200 2x8GB - 81.1% MBD: Gigabyte GA-A520M S2H
  5. Hi everyone I need help, so in 2019ish I bought a computer (i5 10400f) 1650super 16 gig ram 2tb nvme ssd), I played it for about 2 years until all of a sudden I started experiencing a micro stutter every ten ish seconds, so I got rid of it for cheap, now 2 years later I just bought an asus rog strix g30 with a i7 7700k and a 1070 and the micro stutter is on this pc too, totally different pc, the only things that are the same are my Microsoft account(so the files I had in the cloud) my monitor( which works fine on Xbox series x) and my mouse and keyboard someone please help, I am lost
  6. My power supply is a s 12 3 550 by seasonic. I have uninstalled my drivers via ddu 4 different times today and installed 4 different drivers and on all of them I'm experiencing the same microstutter how can i fix this? its happening both outside of and inside of games. Is my GPU dying? stutter not there when in safe mode.
  7. Hello guys, For about 1 year I have been struggling with microstutters in Windows. This happened in Windows 10 with my old 9900kf, but also in a freshly installed Windows 11 with my new 7800X3D! The stutters occur everywhere, even if not a single Program is running in the background. The only thing I found that fixes it, is disconnecting my 2nd and 3rd Monitor. This is probably a Problem with Windows and the NVidia Drivers, but updates of both of them over the last year have not fixed anything for me. Does anyone know how I could get rid of it? Its so annoying than my whole PC hangs for half a second every couple of minutes... Thank you for reading!
  8. In game stutters/micro stutters What i have found in my time during PC, so far has only been issues and i dont know if thats just me being stupid or something is hidden in plain sight but i have spent hundreds if not thousand of hours researching and testing on this. I have found out a lot of things and learnt along the way but still have not got the result I would like in the end. In my case i have a brand new pc, custom built and built correctly. I have rebuilt this pc numerous times with every part (gpu, cpu motherboard e.x.) and it is 100% that none of my parts are deficient or damaged and underperforming. I have a very powerful PC, Consists of a GIGABYTE EAGLE 3060 OC Ryzen 5 5600x 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz RAM AORUS B550 ELITE V2 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVME SSD 500GB SAMSUNG 870 EVO Ofc a lian li 011mini 600W Gold Corsair SFX PSU This is the final build of my PC and every time I have traded the parts or swapped to test I found that it did not help the situation. I have always suffered with severe Stutters in my game, no matter what settings… even if I play in 720p just to make sure it could handle it, while I have exceedingly high framerate, even in 2k I dramatically suffer with stutters. To be more specific, I have a frame time graph on screen when I test and it spikes way above 30ms a few times every minute or two. I have done all the basics, manually tuned my CPU, made sure my XMP is enabled and yes it is AMD xmp optimised. My thermals are fine, never exceeding 65 degrees celsius. BIOS Updates? Done. Capping my framerate to something my pc is capable of running the whole time? Done. I have created a task to delete my cached memory every 5 minutes to see if my ram was the issue getting filled up and then it starts doing this process which i cannot remember the name of but it essentially is a lot slower than the standard process of ram using it’s high speed quick access memory. I tried upgrading to 32GB of ram and that did not help me either so I sent it back as I really cannot afford to keep spending money on this. I have also looked into the cpu, undervolting, underclocking, overclocking and overvolting it to values i have seen other people online have success with? Used different versions of windows also i just seem i can never win. Looking at what some people have said stutter can be cause of frame-pacing, which is controlled by the cpu, ofc that means the higher speeds the cpu runs at the higher the fps you can go at without stuttering as the cpu can handle that many fps without choking? Of course not too high whjere it becomes unstable. But i ned to know what the sweetspot is. I have contacted nvidia, amd, gigabyte and multiple discord servers forums and computer shops local to me. Everytime i get suggested something it's something extremely basic but I have covered everything anyone has ever asked and I'm wondering if my rig is just doomed? I have swapped monitors multiple times, Cables, swapped the power from socket to socket in my house. I am not bothered about extremely high fps, but I am bothered about smooth gameplay. I am happy at 2k 120/144 capped and medium settings, or even 1080p at this point as I just want to enjoy games. I have invested too much of my money and time on this pc for me to sell it on and go back to xbox. Plus there are so many benefits of using a PC over xbox and I enjoy what i have seen so far. I just need to be able to experience it properly. Of course some games run worse than others but it seems to happen in every game I have tested so far. I know this is extremely long but does anyone have any suggestions for setting speeds of my cpu and gpu for the best stability? PBO off or on also? And what voltages are best for stability. I feel like the only person who could fix this at this point is Linus but unfortunately I cannot contact him personally and he does not have the time to go out of his way to help a random guy on his forums. So is there anybody here or potentially a certain place I can go to get this sorted for once and for all. There is probably some stuff i have done but missed as there is so much stuff i have done over the past 4 months. Thankyou for reading.
  9. I've been having this issue for that past few months now. Apex is running like poopoo. Before season 9 started, my game was running buttery smooth and that was with my previous Ryzen 5 3600. I now have the 5800x paired with an RX 6800. Feels like the game is stuttering when my mouse moves. The only way I got Apex to run smooth with no issues was when I reformatted my computer, and I've done this about 6 times now in the past few weeks. Apex runs fine after reformatting until I download other games/apps like discord, Valorant, Aimlabs, Streamlabs. After downloading other stuff onto my computer Apex starts micro stuttering again. I've played Valorant and the game seems to have issues with performance. Would anyone know why this would be happening? Things I've tried/done: Mouse polling rate set to 500 Discord hardware acceleration off FPS max set to 165, 144, Unlimited (Monitor is 165HZ) Changing my refresh rate to 144 (made it worse) Turning off overlays for AMD and DISCORD My system is not overheating, or maxing out either. I consider my system a higher end build so I don't see why I'm having these issues. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to reformat my computer anymore, and be limited to having only Apex downloaded. Thanks.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600x(NEW), MSI B550 MAG TOMAHAWK (NEW), RTX 3060Ti (NEW), c850 80+ gold certified (NEW), 2x8 GB of RAM 3600Mhz CL18 (about 1 year old) also the temps and usage on cpu and gpu are normal, I also play on low graphic settings and I get frame drops in Dead By Daylight and some textures don’t fully load in till I get close to an object, I also face that issue in Apex Legends, and I’ve researched that too high of ram timings could cause frame drops but I’m not to sure, my ram timings are 18 - 22 - 22 - 42, voltage is 1.348, is there anything I can do to fix this issue, I’ve already ordered new ram but I can’t continue to play games with this issue going on
  11. EDIT: I have solved the issue by changing input ports on my TV. I have been using "HDMI 1" as my input source on the TV for several years without issue (was literally using it yesterday at 4K 60Hz). I switched the 35 foot cable to "HDMI 2" and the stuttering has ceased. I am still confused but the problem is solved. Keeping this documentation here for wary future forum browsers. Recently moved to a new apartment and wanted to connect my 4K (3840x2160@60Hz) TV to my computer so that I can play games from the couch without having to move my computer from my desk. I initially purchased a 25 foot Amazon Basics HDMI cable. When it arrived, I connected the cable and set up my display profiles. Booted up a few games and noticed the display output was stuttering. Thought it could be a problem with 4K output so I reduced resolution to 1080p, first in-game then in Windows. This did not solve the issue. The stuttering is noticeable even when moving around the mouse cursor on the desktop. An interesting note, the stuttering persists on my other monitors when the cable is plugged in, even if the 4K TV is disabled in software. As soon as I disconnect the HDMI cable, the stuttering ceases. The cable I had purchased was refurbished, so I figured it was an issue with the cable and returned it (it was too short anyway). I then purchased the 35 foot Amazon Basics HDMI cable with RedMere. It arrived yesterday and I connected it, only to have the same issue. Playing a 4K 60FPS YouTube video on my primary monitor (i.e. not the TV) with a stat counter shows frames dropping consistently. Decreasing the refresh rate on the TV to 30Hz via Nvidia Control Panel appears to make stuttering worse; I believe the stuttering to be tied to frame rate. Stuttering once again ceases when I disconnect the HDMI cable. Computer Specs: MOBO: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi CPU: AMD Ryzen 3800X (Stock) RAM: GSkill TridentZ RGB 16GB 3600MHz CL16 GPU: Zotac Gaming RTX 2070 Super Mini - 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, 1 x HDMI 2.0 || Nvidia Driver 471.68 (latest as of posting) PSU: Corsair RM750X 750W OS: Windows 10 Pro build 19042.1165 Monitor Topology: Primary - Alienware 3440x1440@120Hz, connected directly via DisplayPort Secondary - Dell 1080x1920@60Hz, connected initially via HDMI but have switched to DisplayPort to HDMI via a passive converter as my GPU only has 1 HDMI output Television - TCL 49S517 3840x2160@60Hz, connected directly via 35 Foot HDMI cable This setup has never had issues playing games at 3440x2160@60Hz. In the past I have moved my computer over to the TV to connect with shorter HDMI cables. Initial troubleshooting: I have uninstalled and reinstalled latest Nvidia Drivers using DDU. I reduced resolution and refresh rate on the TV. I disconnected all displays except for the TV. I have tried 2 different 'long' HDMI cables (25 foot and then 35 foot with RedMere, as described above). I have attempted to adjust HDMI timings manually using Nvidia Control Panel, but I'm slightly out of my depth and did not find anything interesting or conclusive.
  12. Hello! I've recently started to have some issues within games and it's starting to drive me insane. It almost doesn't matter what game I play, it will still result in some sort of microstutter. Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, Biomutant, Assassins Creed:Valhalla, RE:Village, the list goes on. PC: Specs GPU: 2070 super CPU: 9900k Mobo: MSI MEG Z390 ACE (Bios Version 7B12v1A 2020/10/16) RAM: 32GB 3200 MHz (XMP turned on) PSU: Corsair RMX Series (RM750x) M.2: 970 EVO 1TB Windows 10 Home Edition latest version/update. The things that I've tried thus far include > Updating my bios and reformatting my hard drive. I'd say those are on the more extreme side of fixes, so I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or what, but I'd be leaning more toward that even though I haven't really done any testing. I'm willing to do any testing that you guys would need to come up with a conclusion.
  13. Hello, The problem I'm having is a kind of microstutter or visual bug. It is prevalent in all apps within Windows, but especially noticeable within my browser (Brave) while scrolling and when looking around or moving quickly in all games. Looks similar to this Blur Busters demo at times. https://www.testufo.com/stutter#demo=microstuttering&foreground=ffffff&background=000000&pps=720 It's basically a new pc at this point, having replaced everything but the case, fans and displays. This pc is running a MoBo overclock preset at the moment and an XMP profile but I've tried with and without and it makes no difference. It has extremely stable CPU temps (30 °C IDLE - 75° C LOAD) and GPU temps (50°C IDLE - 80°C LOAD). 14. Hi, In 2018 I bought a budget build for Black Ops 4. Little did I know what trouble it would cause. Gave up on looking for OS fixes and upgraded....but same issue. Pretty much hate myself for spending the money at this point. THE BUILD + the upgrades ( —-> = what it is now with same issues) Mobo: Asus H310m-A —-> Gigabyte X570UD CPU: i5-8600 (non-k) —-> R5 3600 Cooler: Corsair H60 —-> Stock R5 (Temps 70 Max) Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengance 2666mhz (Duel Channel) —-> Same but 3600mhz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 —-> MSI 5700xt PSU: Corsair VS650 ADATA SSD: Windows Lexar NVMe: Games (1100mb/s read speeds bench results) THE PROBLEM My issue is microstutters, to best describe what I mean by this...let’s say you have a game that you can easily hit 200fps in. Your temps are great, no throttling and your gpu and cpu percentages show no bottlenecks. Additionally, you cap your FPS to 120 in this game with RTSS. But, on that smooooooth RTSS frametime graph, there’s little mini spikes...especially when loading new textures (Moving between zones in battle royals). I noticed this originally in Black Ops 4 multiplayer upon in game updates (gunfights, field upgrade becomes ready or domination flag changes). However, it is a lot worse in battleroyal games as there are a lot more textures to load. And I know fortnite chapter 2 is a mess for everybody, but I mean games like COD warzone which is very optimized. What drives me nuts is when I watch frametime benches for COD warzone with MY OWN specs and it’s super smooth....I just don’t get what’s different about my build. WHAT IV TRIED ON BOTH BUILDS I consider myself a pretty advanced user and have tried many things: - Driver Updates: Not just important ones, alllll of them using a registered version of driverbooster...20+ system drivers are at least 2019 and Whql approved. - Monitoring Temps - Optimizing Windows 10 (disabling all the bs) -> HPET - Game Recording Off - Standby list cleaner - Timer Resolution - No Parked CPU cores - HW monitor to check voltage drops - Every possible combination of nvidia settings -> Prerendered frames = 1 -> Vsync = OFF -> Everything else at max power - All in game overlays off - Disabling fullscreen optimizations - Installing games to an SSD - Multiple clean installs with latest WIN 10 updates - DPC latency is perfect - AUDIO: No issues between audio drivers - Disabling all overclocks/xmp - Updating Bios (both builds) - Capping FPS with RTSS - No FPS cap at all - Higher settings for GPU to take load off CPU - Network QOS: Bufferbloat and Ping are great. THOUGHTS At this point I think it might be the PSU, it’s also the last thing that I haven’t upgraded. There’s no voltage loss but for the life of me I can figure out what’s causing the problem. It’s a low end Corsair VS650.

  18. Only happens in Windows! Linux-- no issue. Specs Here's my system information first: Specs summary: Full specs, see my DxDiag Dump: https://pastebin.com/bai6Q1iV UserBenchmark results: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/27566155 What's the problem Microstuttering in games or graphics-intensive tasks (even like watching YouTube videos). Every few seconds there are stutters that last maybe 0.3-0.5 seconds where the entire system freezes and drops frames, as well as the audio playing a loop of the last few samples that sounds like buzzing. Other than that, excellent performance on high settings, great FPS, but with stuttering. BUT IT ONLY HAPPENS ON WINDOWS! Dual-booting with Ubuntu, running FurMark in Ubuntu reveals perfect performance with no stuttering. Without changing anything running the same benchmark on Windows (same drive) has microstuttering. I've tried reinstalling Windows completely as well as rolling back nVidia drivers to old versions, really old versions, the second-newest version, the newest version, etc.. I even tried wiping my entire system and installing fresh Windows 10, and installing only FurMark and MSI Afterburner and same issue. Currently not overclocked at all. Tried overclocking, tried underclocking, same issue. This only started happening maybe a month ago, and I can't remember changing anything other than automatic OS/driver updates and physically moving the computer (carefully). But as I said above the problem only occurs on Windows while a Linux install has no symptoms so I don't think it's a hardware issue... Graphs Here is what the MSI Afterburner graphs look like when running FurMark. You can clearly see the spikes on the GPU usage graph, the FB usage graph, and the Power % graph. https://imgur.com/a/DL2ttxc What I've tried Different power outlet Full shutdown/reset Full Windows reinstall Full system reset (including motherboard battery), wipe all drives, new Windows install Max fans Rollback driver Install latest driver Install old driver (month ago) Install super old driver (2018) Install second latest driver Tried setting processor affinity to only each core one by one. Tried with a different graphics card, same issue. nVidia control panel-- disabled VSync, set to max performance Windows power profile-- tried all three, set PCI-E power management to OFF Killed all background apps as far as I can tell Different games and benchmarks. The problem even happens in MENU SCREENS of games! I launch Assassin's Creed and the menu screen has stutters and the music stutters at the same time. Not even in the game, no intense graphics. I've read dozens of forum posts at this point and I've got nothing. Starting to go crazy.
  19. Hi, I have a problem. I have like 0.5 second fps drop in games such as League of Legends, CS GO and Dota2. The fps drops from like 150 to 30 and then it goes back to normal.Happened few times in witcher 3 but that is high end game and i have pretty underpowered pc for that game, but game runs fine on low settings, +30 fps.The microstutter (0.5 second frame freeze, fps drop) happens like 4-10 times in average game of League of Legends and same for csgo and dota2. And it happens randomly. I think my setup is perfectly fine for lol, csgo and dota2 and that microstuttering shouldnt be that often. It's really frustrating and i want to get rid of it. I tried monitoring cpu, ram,gpu and i cant get to the solution. my specs: gpu- gigabyte GTX 750ti -all drivers up to date, average temps cpu- amd x4 860k black edition -average temps, maybe 30 when its not doing anything and max was like 60 under heavy load, using "open hardware monitor" for monitoring parts motherboard- asus a88xm-e -ALL drivers up to date hdd1- 1 TB western digital something hdd2- 500 gb western digital ram- 8gb ddr3 1866 mhz os- windows 7 ultimate i checked background programs and processes everything is fine
  20. PC Specs: CPU: i7 6700 GFX Card: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1080 (running using the XTREME Gaming OC software @ recommended OC setting) Memory: 32GB RAM Monitor: Asus PG279Q G-Sync 144Hz Monitor Newly built PC, about 2 months old. 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my games, particularly Overwatch, would microstutter in certain parts of the game. Example of stutter captured HERE. This problem would happen on other games too, just not as often. The problem would also persist on desktop especially right after quitting a game. Around this time, I also noticed that when playing back videos (like on YouTube) on Chrome, I would see artifacts and patterns at the beginning that would disappear after I pause/play or rewind the video. I first tried reverting back to the factory core clock settings of my gfx card. It fixed the video artifacts issue, but the microstutter happening in-game still persisted. I also tried rolling back the Nvidia drivers but the same issues are present. I just deleted the Gigabyte XTREME gaming OC software completely, and also completely uninstalled/re-installed the Nvidia drivers. Will monitor what happens next. Hope I can get more info on this issue! Hope it's not a hardware problem. Thanks!
  21. Around the 9900k's release I built a new PC centered around it. For a few months everything was cheery, but -- if I remember correctly -- after a windows update my PC began to experience stuttering symptoms. Eventually it became quite apparent that this stuttering only came when I moved my mouse. It's been a while since then, and I have truly tried everything. I have tried so many things that I lost track of most of what I have tried, and at this point I'm willing to absolutely start from the top. It stutters most everywhere. Dragging windows around the desktop it'll have half-second hangs that are very frequent. Games like Mount & Blade: Warband and Osu! in particular are hit very, very hard. Both of run butter-smooth -- until I touch my mouse, in which both go to shit. They don't just stutter in a graphical sense, if that means anything -- literally the game freezes for half a second. The AI stop in place. The arrows stop flying around. Simulation pauses in singleplayer. Note that both are OpenGL, and that DirectX games (Arma 3, which I play almost daily) actually run without stuttering as far as I remember. I know for a fact it's the actual mouse, or whatever it does on the way to be rendered -- because I have written an autohotkey script to jiggle my cursor vigorously, and both on the desktop and in these OpenGL games it's buttery smooth with the script but janky as hell with the cursor. I have tried four different mice. Lower Hz (polling rate) ones/settings tend to stutter less, but the stuttering is still present. Note that with my main mouse (old DeathAdder), lowering the polling rate in software (both in the latest Synapse in an old-ass Razer Deathadder Driver program I found) -- actually doesn't do much. It still stutters. It's not super consistent, though. Some days it's not as noticeable. Other days involve notable hangups (1s+). Safe Mode (ie: network-only with no drivers) fixes it as far as I can tell, but it's hard to actually test because I can't use LatencyMon or Osu! in that mode, and I also can't have my monitor at anything higher than 63Hz. Also, interestingly enough, monitoring software -- so far HWiNFO64 and Task Manager -- both seem to 'incite' the stuttering when present. Does my GPU not like being polled? Is that maybe a completely separate issue? Is my whole PC fucked? We'll see! I have also attempted to go one-by-one through the (many) programs that I usually keep up in the background, including Discord, ShareX, Corsair iCUE, Samsung Magician, Voicemeeter Potato & Macrobuttons, Google Drive Sync, Geforce Experience, and Pushbullet. Each closed program seems to lessen the stuttering bit by bit, actually, and if I literally close every single program on my computer, background and foreground, the stutter is almost imperceptible. But: First, it's still present and measureable with Latencymon to be >1ms and worse than it should be, and Second, I have a 9900k and 32GB of RAM. I want to be able to multi-task without my desktop windows hitching every few seconds. EDIT: Also, duh. My monitor setup. Dual as listed below. I use the integrated graphics on the secondary. For some reason Windows says they're both using 8-bits of color depth? See here. EDIT2: Osu is also measuring stutters when I press keyboard keys -- even when it's paused! EDIT3: If I hold down the keys it's even worse!! Any and all advice is appreciated -- even telling me to 'try again' with things I did before. I don't mind. I'm pretty desperate to get this fixed before I consider ripping apart and piecemeal-returning a notably expensive computer build. My Specs: CPU - 9900k @ stock, with great temps, who is getting sipped at (<15%) during this entire debacle. COOLER - H100i PRO GPU - GTX 970, who I have tried to ensure isn't using the 0.5GB of 'BAD' VRAM RAM - Ripjaws V 32GB DDR4, which checks out on memtest and is indeed using the correct XMP profile PSU - Seasonic FOCUS Plus 650W Platinum Modular MOBO - Z390 Taichi LGA 1151 OS - Windows 10 64-bit 1803 (17134.829), or so says winver M.2 NVMe (C:) - Samsung 970 EVO 500GB SSD 1 - Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD 2 - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Keyboard - WASD V2 Mouse - Razer DeathAdder 3.5G Wired, RZ01-0015 Monitor 1 - ASUS VG248QE 24" 1080p 16:9 144Hz, occasionally 120Hz if I use LightBoost, runs on GTX 970 Monitor 2 - Philips 19b4qcb5/27 1280x1024 60Hz In Summary: - Desktop window dragging, OpenGL games, many other things have micro and macro-freezes whenever I move the mouse. - When I move the cursor with a script alone, the stuttering is not present. - It does not actually seem tied to DPI as far as I can tell. - Monitoring software makes it freeze up even more. - The keyboard causes it to stutter, too? Or so Osu!'s profiling says. - If it's really stuttering, occasionally desktop windows outright minimize/maximize themselves at random. Possible Culprits: - USB drivers - Corrupted default windows mouse drivers - Something fucky from Windows Update - My old GTX 970 GPU - My new 9900K ,_ , - Just having too many programs running, man. - One of my SSDs, or something SATA-related in the MOBO? My entire system stutters way more when Steam is downloading a game at 5.0MB/s. Culprits I Have Ruled Out: - Mousepad, since I have tested varying surfaces. - Individual mouse, since I have tested varying mice with varying DPI/quality. - USB port, since I have tried both front and back USB ports. Things I Have Tried (If it has a *, that means I may try it again): - Reinstalling Windows, first a 'refresh', and then from scratch. - Reinstalling my Graphics Drivers, including a 'clean' re-install using external program(s).* - Literally flashing a new BIOS on my motherboard, twice, like a desperate idiot. - Some less-nuclear options like trying other mice, surfaces, updating Windows, refraining from updating Windows, etc.* - Going one-by-one through my tray programs and closing them, then trying to see if any create an issue.* - Reducing my Windows DPI from Custom Scaling (160%) to 150%, then even 100%, to little effect.* - Tweaking BIOS settings to prevent CPU lockup and turning HPET off, didn't affect much.* - Also turning off HPET in the OS, didn't change anything.* - Windows SFC /scannow and also that other command that repairs SFC, they found nothing to fix.* - Performance profiling my SSDs, they were fine.* - Safe Mode, which might fix it(?). - Using only the GTX 970, which I remember long ago as not fixing it. - Using only the Intel HD Graphics on the i9, which I vaguely remember maybe helping ...?* - Tweaking settings in the NViDiA control panel. Things I Have Used to Test With: - MemTestx86, since I have had memory problems with a prior build and am paranoid of them. Everything checked out. - LatencyMon, which reports 1.5ms+ latency from dxgkrnl.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, and nvlddmkm.sys. - Frametime Analysis Built-in with Osu! 'Cutting Edge' Build, wherein moving my mouse introduces measurable stutters and framedrops. - Task Manager, wherein Corsair iCue is using a smidge more CPU than expected (1% constantly). - Resource Monitor, nothing fucky as far as I can tell. - BenQ Mouse-Rate-Checker (Google it), it said my mouse polling rate was 0Hz-120Hz, which seems low. Speccy is attached below. In conclusion -- whale_speccy_june_2019.txt
  22. i use 2 USB adapters and i get microstutters in online games with both, offline games work fine (as long as they are optimized of course). would i fix the microstutters if i got a PCIE adapter? i have no way of getting a cable to test if it's the adapter unfortunately. i'm loosing my mind over this because i bought this PC like 3 months ago and i have this problem since... the first adapter (a newer one which i bought with my PC) is Netis WF2190 and the second one is TP-LINK TL WN722N super old and it's latest driver is only for W8.1 and is from 2013 PC specs (not any problem with those): MSI VENTUS RTX 2060 i5 9600K (stock speed) 16GB 3000 RAM MSI Tomahawk Z390 has anyone ever had this problem before? or does anyone know what else could it be? 23. Hi smart people, Sorry for being such a dbag and just instantly posting a problem question after registration, I thought I might get help here. Here's my spec first: PRIME X370-AWindows 10 Ent, 1903 / BIOS: 4023Asus GTX 1070Ryzen 5 2600G.Skill F4-3200C15D-16GVK - DDR4-3200 8GBx2 The problem I have is with memory speed on the system (or at least I think that's the problem) When I built this PC over 1.5 years ago, I mistakenly purchased a single 16 GB stick of G.Skill F4-3000C16S-16GISB memory which was't a huge bummer. The bummer started when I wanted to get back in to CSGO. The problem was(is still) the endless micro stutter. With the single stick of ram I wasn't able to crack 130 FPS on my rig, which seemed kind of odd considering the first thing I finished off with this PC was Witcher 3 on high preset. After some research, I found that CSGO is described as memory intensive game so a good set of RAM is a must. After further fiddling and investigations, I found that my single stick of RAM was running on 1333Mhz clock. Fast forward 1 year, I just now (yesterday) purchased G.Skill 16GB (8x2 kit) as described in the spec list, and to my huge surprise, this memory runs even lower: 1064 Mhz. Now, I know Ryzen 2 platform is special in terms of memory speeds, but should it really be that low? You can see attached CPUZ screenshot. What I have tried doing: After first boot I checked the speed, and to my sad surprise, it was lower than the previous single stick. Right after that, went to BIOS, enabled the DOCP profile which is 3200 Mhz CL15-15-15-35 1.35v The speed went up to 1600Mhz, which seems to be right after some research on clock speeds, or did I just read bullsh*t with the clock having to be multiplied because of dual channel? Anyhow, today I experienced weird random app closures and after some app closures, a BSOD with Memory Management as the cause. I have now disabled DOCP. Needless to say, I still experience constant micro stutter in CSGO. This effect is not observed in any other game (PUBG maybe a little). What I have observed in other games, when an asset has to "pop in" fast in the screen during gameplay (spawn something, for example), there is a micro stutter for that moment. Have I built a bad system, or what is happening? Temps are flawless both on GPU and CPU. (50-70 C range for both, both not overclocked) The micro stutter is observed both, when CSGO is installed on SSD or HDD, so that shouldn't be the cause. If you need more information, please, let me know. Suggestions are welcome, Thank you in advance!
  24. First off, here’s my specs Mobo: Asus Prime Z390-A Ram: 4x4gb G.Skill Ripjaws 2133mhz CPU: i7 9700k Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52 GPU: EVGA 1080ti ftw3 PSU: EVGA Supernova 750 G3 HDD: Seagate 2tb (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834) SSD/boot drive: Kingston 120gb (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721107) So about a year and a half ago I upgraded to both a 1080ti Ftw3 and a new 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor(Dell S2716DG), as well as adding 2 more sticks of RAM to make 16gb from my old gtx 970 that ran great, pretty much all games at 144fps at 1080p. And the 1080ti was awesome even with my i5 6600k which I thought would bottleneck, but it didn't and I had smooth gameplay all up until that summer. I have literally no clue what happened. I added a second monitor (the same one as before for a dual 1440p setup) and that’s it. All of my games now have these small hitches or stutters that will occur at any frame cap or frame rate. Even limited at 60fps or 30fps it will drop just under to like 57fps or 28fps and freeze up the game for a second then go right back to the frame cap/the normal fps. I feel like I have tried absolutely everything up to this point and am completely dumbfounded. I have: Reinstalled windows countless times Upgraded my power supply 3 times Upgraded to an i7 9700k and a Z390-a Mobo with it Upgraded to a NZXT Kraken x52 RMAed my 1080ti DDUed graphics drivers/and just reinstalled drivers in general Pretty much every single windows optimization/tweak imaginable Reset all overclocks to stock Checked the RAM sticks Tried using my Xbox controller and without/both have same issue Tried unplugging all of my front USBs Tested using only my original monitor, no change. Looked through all utilization charts, no glaring spikes or drops At this point I don’t know what I can do because I feel like I have ruled out everything but the drives, but both when running diagnostics say they are fine and I don’t have means to test another drive. I’m honestly desperate. I feel like for the last year I haven’t enjoyed playing anything on my PC and am beginning to regret the investment all together if I can’t fix this. Something must have happened around June of 2018, because when playing Spec Ops the Line prior to going on vacation I know for a fact it didn’t stutter as it does now, along with the batman arkham games, super meat boy, terraria, and more that I played before this issue. Oddly, a select few games I’ve tried run fine with way less occasional hitching to not make it unplayable like the others, and they all seem to be much newer/graphically demanding. GTA V, Doom, Battlefield 1, and Tomb Raider are examples of this. They still do have their hitches/microstutter, but much less frequent. I’ve spent more time reading forum posts and troubleshooting whenever I’m on my PC than playing games at this point. If anyone could help that would be amazing. Thanks. edit shoot, I forgot I have this pcie wifi adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 I use ethernet from a wifi extender in my room as I don't have access to the modem, but does anyone think this could cause any issues?
