*After replacing the old cpu cooler, the OS does not recognize the ram installed on the left slot and when I checked CPU-Z, it shows that I am running on a single channel even though I installed two sticks of ram on both my ram slots. Is this an OS problem or perhaps my left ram slot is at fault? Also when I only put ram on the right ram slot it boots but when i put it on left, it does not boot.*

My system: - MSI z170a Gaming M5 - i7 6700k - Corsair H100i - 2x8GB RAm DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX - Corsair PSU RMi 650 w Gold. - RX 6650 XT 8GB Last week my 7 years old rig froze while gaming for the first time. Coincidentally, I upgraded my GPU 3 weeks ago, which brought me some trouble but I managed to had it all, apparently, working stably for over 2 weeks. While I initially thought it could be GPU related, I later discovered it was RAM related (reseating them helped to make it boot). Yet a memtest passed with no errors whatsoever. Also, I tried clearing the CMOS, disconnecting all sata and m2 devices, even a new PSU. Now it turns out PC will no longer boot with 2 sticks of RAM in slot #2 and #4, and error code "00-4C-55-0d-30" shows up on the debug led. However, one stick works on slot #2, and even two on slots #1 and #2, but slots #3 and #4 won't. All old threads on the internet I am retrieving regarding the same debug error indicate it's a memory issue due to bent pins. But I am unable to see any on my socket. I attached some photos of my socket pins and the mobo's backside. Looks fine to me. Did I miss anything? What else would you suggest me to try? Thank you in advance. Update: if it helps, I am also attaching videos of the error. video5895293185894125985.mp4 But, with 1 RAM stick installed works: video5895293185894125984.mp4

I have 4x16 corsair vengeance ddr5 6000 Ram sticks. I am using AMD EXPO II (activated). I am new to the pc world. I was recently told that if use 4 sticks instead of 2, my RAM speed will decrease. Is that true, is there nothing i can do to prevent it. Should i run 2 sticks or 4? Current Specs: CPU-AMD Ryzen 9 7900X GPU-Palit RTX 4080 Motherboard- ASUS TUF GAMING A620M-PLUS WIFI, AMD NVME-SN850X 2TB RAM- 4x16 corsair vengeance RGB DDR5 6000

Building a new system and I'm afraid that the AK620 cooler doesn't have enough clearance for Trident Z5 Neo RGB RAM, I have been trying to find the dimensions for it basically everywhere, but no luck. Couldn't find any builds using those 2 components together either, can anyone share with me this top-secret knowledge? (and before you say that the dimensions are on Amazon, no they are not, the bs that is written there is absolute nonsense, it says that the RAM is 2cm wide, 25cm long, and 16 cm tall, which is just impossible)

Budget (including currency): NA (No I'm not uber wealthy but the price difference I'm looking at, at this point is like $50) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: lots of stuff. Games, video editing, 3d model-work(Soon™), printer slicing(Soon™), programming, notepad. Other details So I've picked out a: "Intel® Core™ i7-13700KF" Processor paired with a "MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI" and 2 kits of "G.Skill RipJaws S5 Series (Intel XMP) 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR5 6000 CL36-36-36-96 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory F5-6000J3636F16GX2-RS5K" My plan was to populate all 4 of the motherboards memory slots with the 4 sticks of ram, they're the same stick didn't think it would be an issue. I made sure the motherboard supported everything but didn't think much about the CPU. But as I eagerly await my new parts since most of my components are 10-12 years old, I am understandably excited. I decided now was the time to look at the product pages. And noticed the CPU's page looks like this. It feels silly to ask because the writing is right above. But, my understanding is a channel is a slot on the motherboard, so 2 channels is up to 2 slots. should I take this to mean that my CPU won't support all 4 sticks? And they're too fast as it is, which means RAM will just be throttled down? So, if I want to keep 64gb of ram I should buy 2-32gb sticks with 5600 MT/s instead of 6000? But at the same time ram can be overclocked, would this mean overclocking the RAM would be entirely pointless to anything beyond 5600? Thanks for your time.

xmp issues HELP IM HAVING RAM XMP ISSUES
Henrymardh posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
ive been having trouble with xmp with my asrock b450a/c motherboard i tried to set my ram to its advertised speed (3200 mhz) and it stays at 2133 please help its my birthday and i just built the pc -
I have a https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-PRO-VDS-V2/Overview I want to buy 3200mhz ram but on the website for my motherboard it says Support DDR4 1866/2133/2400/2667 Mhz but it doesn't say 3200mhz anywhere and there is nothing about OC anywhere so can i use it? will it just lower the clock speed on it or whatever? if yes. Is it possible to run it in 3200mhz and would that give me better performance?

Hi everyone, I am a typical gamer and frames matter to me the most. I want to upgrade my system ram on my ROG strix g15. I have two options available and both are at same price. 1. Hyperx 16gb (8x2) with 3200mhz and CL20 2. Hyperx 32gb (16x2) with 2666mhz and CL15 As both of these laptop ram kits comes at almost the same price , I am confused which one to go for ?

First time poster here therefore I hope im posting this on the right part/area. Well, I recently upgraded from AM4 to AM5, I got one of the bundles from Microcenter so by default I got the Ram that was in the bundle (Flare X5 if I recall correctly). To be straight to the point, im curious if there is a way to get the DDR4 heatsink (the Trident Z NEOs with RGB) and tranfer it to the Flare sticks. While, yes I could just buy the new lineup of DDR5 NEOs I much prefer the design of the DDR4 variant. So far what i've found are tutorials on dissassembly for the heatsink but they are all of the Original Tridents, Which do not have the RGB (therefore i assume is different because it needs to have space for the LEDs and their connection.) and well I would like to move that over to the DDR5 modules because +2 FPS. Thanks in advance.

Hi hopefully someone can help me out! Changed my Pc's motherboard, ram and cpu today, I've attached an image of the new components. PC boots up perfectly fine, but ram is stuck at 2133, no matter what I do. What I've done: Updated Bios Used DOCP Tried every speed from 2666mhz to 3600mhz in the bios, it boots but still stays at 2133 speed Changed Ram Slots, originally in A1 and B1, Now in A2 and B2 Kinda at a loss for what to try next! Thanks, Xander

So I was making a new pcpartpicker list as you do when bored out of your mind inside, and I saw a weird pricing for RAM at 5k mhz. It was priced at around 1,000 $ USD. Is the pricing for this kit high because of inflation of markets from Corona, or is this memory just extremely overpriced/valued?

I wanna buy a build with ryzen's 3rd generation APUs I dont know if I should use dual channel for ram like 4gb 2666mhz or add just 1 8gb 3200mhz I've heard that ryzen's new APUs work better with dual channels but I dont wanna use dual channel because I might add more ram in the future. Please help me If I should use 2x4gb 2666mhz Or 1x8gb 3200mhz

Hello, I just bought an Asus vivobook x505za laptop with the following specs: -Ryzen 5 2500u with Vega 8 built-in -4gb ram DDR4 2400mhz soldered in (1 extra slot for ram upgrade up to 16gb) -1TB HDD I only have common/basic hardware knowledge regarding computers, I'm planning for a ram upgrade due to my workload as it requires multitasking and just 2 windows are enough for the memory usage to spike up to 90% (I also do a bit of light gaming), I'm planning for an 8gb upgrade but I'm wondering if it'll be okay to use another stick that has different capacity to the one built-in?Would it be safer to consider a 4gb+4gb set up? Or is it safe to pick the 4gb+8gb option?

i have a 32 gb ram setup (8gbx4) and my memory speed derped down to 1400MHz for whatever reason but i havent noticed a performance diffrence so that made me think. is the ram speed the 4 sticks added up together or is the speed per stick? all the memory sticks are (4X) Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2666 MHz DDR4 DRAM Desktop Gaming Memory Single 8GB CL16 BLS8G4D26BFSBK (Gray)

I have an Acer XC-605 (fairly dated now) that i have partially upgraded. I've taken the motherboard and HDD out of the old case, and put it in a new one (the original was really small) with a beefier 500w PSU and a 1050ti. It has an Intel I5-4440 processor and comes with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, which is currently the biggest issue. I don't know if I'll continue to upgrade this PC, but either way upgrading the CPU will probably require a new motherboard etc etc. Anyway, I was just looking for a quick RAM fix, like a 8GB DDR3 ram stick to replace one of the two 4GB sticks that come as standard. Will it matter what company or type of RAM I go for? I know it has to be DDR3 as that's what my motherboard is compatible with, but could I get any old 8GB DDR3 ram stick? If it helps I think the current RAM is made by Crucial. (idk what my budget is, ideally less than £50 but I really don't know at the moment

having some trouble on my girlfriend's computer, she's experiencing hiccups that didn't happen before (I installed an SSD recently), especially when opening games and programs, which is typical of ram limited systems, so i checked it out and sure enough, 90% of her 8 gigs are being used on a blank desktop, and when I open task manager, the processes open don't add up, chrome was hogging like 100 megs from a couple googles I ran while I took the screenshot, and I'm aware windows will eat up a ton for caching, but most i've seen on my own PC is 50%... Any thoughts what this could be? Pretty sure this wasn't happening when windows was booting from her HDD

Hi LTT I wanted to buy more ram to my computer. So, I wanted to go the cheap way since I already had 16GB of memory I bought an additional 16GB. However, I thought I bought the exact same memory modules as I already had. As it happens, they were a newer model of the same memory module. The ones I currently have: https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX426C16FB2K2_16.pdf The new ones I bought: https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX426C16FB3K2_16.pdf The only difference I can find is the production number, other than that they seem the same. The two sets work separately, but not together. Not sure if this is solvable but any help would be appreciated. My rig has this specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, BIOS version: 3003 Motherboard: ROG STRIX B450-F GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB TURBO Memory: HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 16GB PSU: Corsair TX750M, 750W PSU

Hola, thanks for reading this and I'm sorry if I'm posting it in the wrong section. So, I just built my very first rig last year and now I have one silly question to ask, which is as the the title suggests. Will it damage my pc if don't put RAM in it because I need to sell them and idk when I can buy another memory kit, maybe when things get better, hopefully..

So, I just was enjoying my time gaming and I wanted to play Grand Theft Auto, so, I opened up NVIDIA GeForce Experience and I saw that on my rig there's literally just written 6 GB RAM, I got a little confused so, opened up System Properties (if that's what u call it) and it said: Installed Memory (RAM) : 16.0 GB (6.00 GB useable) I headed to YouTube and there was a tutorial, which said that I should do the following steps: Press Win+R & type msconfig32 Go to boot & select advanced options Uncheck eh? what was it again??? yeah, the memory limit? Well, after I did all those steps, I restarted my PC and it didn't solve my problem soooo, what should I do now?

I've just built my first PC. I did my research and ordered the parts. Everything seems to run fine except for the ram. The computer consist of a Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard, an AMD FX 6300 Black Edition CPU, a XFX R7 260x GPU and Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 2133 Mhz, which is a 2x4gb kit. In the bios it seems that it's using up the 8gb of ram but the speed rating is only 1333. My motherboard is supposed to support 2133Mhz but only when the ram is overlocked. I knew that the system would dumb down the speed but I didn't know it would be that much. SO the questions are! - Can i get my ram to a higher speed? - Will it take overclocking to do it? - Has anyone had similar experiences? Appreciate answers and will comply whit more info if it's needed.

Hey, so i'm gonna be building a PC for the first time in about a month, I have read up all the stuff I need know for a few months now and been considering using the memory I already have in the PC i'm using right now. If it was from a trustworthy manufacturer i wouldn't have been here asking for help, but here I am. The memory sticks are HDDR3 1333mhz 2x4gb 256MX8 from the company Unifosa. I've had them since I bought the pre-built computer a few years ago and I've not had any troubles so far, so would I be okay putting them in my new build or should I stay safe and buy some new RAM? (recommendations are appreciated also) This is the build i'm gonna go with.
