Hey, I can't get the driver/software to work on my STRIKE 7 keyboard. When I try to install the driver I can't get longer then *picture*. Anyone that has had the same problem or just know/have an idea on how to fix it?

HI all, Have Mad Catz's wireless R.A.T. 9 mouse for over 4 years now and batteries for it only lasts like 4 hours. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy replacements for those? Some comments were that it's really a piece of garbage, but i find it really easy to use and customise both hardware and software. New Profile Manager for Win10 works - finally, so it would be shame to it throw away . Any links?? Even for chinese websites ?? Thanks

Hello. I'm writing this here because I've found quite little information about Mad Catz as a company, all I knew is they filed for bankruptcy some time ago, but are somehow back in business under new management. The question I'm here to ask is : Is getting a Mad Catz RAT mouse (whichever one) worth it with competitors like Razer, Steelseries and others? I've had a mouse from Mad Catz (RAT 7) since like 2012, and it still works without any issues. Yeah, a few dings and scratches here and there but it's holding up like a champ. I also love the modularity of these mice, since you can add weight to it, swap out the palm rest, etc. Does anybody have a new mouse from Mad Catz? And if so, are they any good?

The Steam Input additions I think are noteworthy on the latest Steam Client Beta update. Curious if it includes Rock Band/Guitar Hero controllers, but probably no Move-accessory support. Steam Client Beta Update changelog:

I have been looking for a little while now, and have had no success in finding a Mad Catz M.M.O. 7. Therefore I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me locate one, I really don't care if it is used or not. It has come to the point where I'm desperate.

Is Mad Catz back? Their new RAT Air looks pre impressive but the RAT X3 looks really good ... 3000hz? 3389 sensor?

Dear LTT community, My Mad Catz M.M.O. 7 started to fall apart, one button at a time. Some I can pull right off and put back in, others have took some damage over the last 3 years of heavy use during 10+ hours of gaming sessions. So, I am in need of a successor to my desktop based gaming rig! What I need is a mouse suited for: Claw grip Small hands , glove size is mans S or women M. more than 2 thumb buttons build to endure a lot of unnecessary and fast clicking. Sensor configurable for 1200'ish dpi speeds/sensitivity. preferd colors black& red, it has to look nice next to the black & red Ducky Shine3. I would love to have a companion software that is not as clunky as the Mad Catz one. Genres: MOBA/RPG/FPS/RTS, depending on the FotM. What I don't care about: lighting wired/wireless Can you help me identify a few mice that are actually worthwhile to look at and test? It is a plethora of different products and variants and I have no clue what brands are still viable and what are just pumping out cheap garbage. The price is secondary, but I am really unsure if spending more than 100€ on a mouse benefiting me functionality I wouldn't have otherwise. All the best from Germany, AndoDX

Hi, I'm looking for a new keyboard with (extra)keys above the arrow keys. I currently have a Steelseries Shift but it's damaged. I want the same button layout but they don't sell the Shift anymore. The only keyboards I could find with buttons like that are from Mad Catz. Anybody know any other keyboards i could choose from? Shift: Madcatz Strike TE:

So I need to give this thing a bit of a run-up. A friend of our family recently passed away and he wanted me to use his computer (I know it sounds a little morbid, but why have it sit in a basement and let the rig collect dust?). It is a very nice little gaming PC, not the most powerful, but still lightyears ahead of my previous system. This is the configuration http://prntscr.com/9qt2ca. It is not gonna blow your socks off or anything but for me coming from a gt(!) 440 it is big deal. But to the real deal now: It came with a Mad Catz V.7 Keyboard, and I actually like it very much. I already own a computer mouse from them, the MMO7. the only dealbreaker about the keyboard was, that the wristwrest was nowhere to be found. the keyboard is out of production since quite some time now, and I couldn't find any at my local dumpsters. So I reached out to Mad Catz and told them the story, it took the the good part of two months and I didn't get an email back from them. Only to find a HUGE box at my doorstep the other day. (Seriously the box was big enough to fit you whole maxi-tower and a monitor in there!) And it contains a wrist rest for the keyboard. I already did send an email to them, but again they didn´t reply and i kinda of feel the urge to tell the story to someone. I know this is probably not the spot for this kinda post, but still, good guy Mad Catz!

So I've got my choices narrowed down to Mionix Castor, Logitech G502 or Mad Catz Cyborg RAT (5 or 7 depending on price). Any suggestions on which one to go for? They all look pretty good and they are more or less the same price, in Switzerland...

What I want to know is if they are durable and how good is there connectivity. I dont really game much but they seem very useful for many thungs lile office word. I also want a wireless since I use my windows tablet and laptop for school and rather not have a bunch of cluttered wires everywhere.

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question about my Mad Catz R.A.T. 5 mouse. I've owned this mouse for about a year, and I haven't been experiencing any problems, until about a week ago. Suddenly, when I click once, the mouse will click twice. Such as, if I'm closing a single tab in Chrome, it will close two tabs because it will double click and click the close button on both tabs. Another example is when I try to move files around on my desktop, it opens them. It doesn't always happen, but it usually does. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

The Mad Catz S.U.R.F.R. This particular product im actually quite interested in *phone not included The idea behind the S.U.R.F.R. is that it’s a multifunctional accessory that you can use when you’re facing your big screen TV and integrating all your Android media and gaming sources. You can use it as a multimedia controller for when you’re watching web TV apps like HBO GO, Hulu, or Netflix. You can also use it for gaming – that’s what the integrated D-pad is for, and that’s why the device is held like a gaming controller to begin with. You can play your mobile games from on your mobile, or sync it with an Android TV device and play your games from there. Lastly, you can surf your social networks – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the like – and update your status using the built in QWERTY keyboard. This is all wireless, all handheld. It will cost $60 The Mad Catz L.Y.N.X. 3 It’s basically a controller that will adapt to whichever gaming console or platform you pair it with. You can sync it to your mobile as a Bluetooth controller, sync it with your PC as a wireless gaming controller, sync it with Android TV as a gaming controller, and a lot more. It will also be priced at $60 source: http://androidcommunity.com/mad-catz-showing-off-two-handheld-mobile-accessories-at-mwc-20150302/ http://hexus.net/tv/show/2015/03/Mad_Catz_announces_S_U_R_F_R_and_L_Y_N_X_3_controllers http://www.tomshardware.com/news/mad-catz-lynx-3-controller,28661.html#xtor=RSS-181 http://madcatz.com/gamesmart_surf_r/ http://madcatz.com/gamesmart_lynx_3/

Okay, I have a Mad Catz V.7 Gaming keyboard which for some unknown reason has decided to stop working. I don't know how and I don't know why. When it is plugged in, I try and type into anything and it will just refuse to type... The thing is though, it still is illuminated and the Num-Lock key is illuminated. But, luckily enough, I have a spare, unused PS2 keyboard just in case of these mishaps. My PS2 keyboard works no problem, but the weird thing is, even with V.7 still plugged in, I can press the Num-Lock button and it will toggle it off, and it does the same on my V.7. It also goes off, but when I try it on the V.7, it doesn't work? I also have the software and I have some the macro keys set, and when I select a profile and try it, it still doesn't work. But don't thing that the computer isn't just simply not picking it up because I can still use the media bar at the top (Volume up/down, mute, play/pause, previous and next) and they all work. I can also still use that though panel to turn off the back-light and change the colours and everything. it is just like, the whole "Keyboard" part of the keyboard isn't working. I don't know how it happened. Last night I was using it no problem but now it is simply not working. The USB pass-though still works, along with the audio jack and the microphone. I have even tried plugging it into my brother laptop because I used it on his when I has to do some work and my computer was doing a update. Didn't work on this either. Do you have any idea? I really don't want to be stuck with this REALLY old PS2 keyboard. My Grandad first owned this keyboard when he bought a PC with Windows 95 on it. I still actually have that PC somewhere in the attic. lol. Hope for a quick reply, because I currently cannot afford another keyboard due to the cooker and fridge going on the exact same day. Many thanks - Joe -------------------- EXTRA INFORMATION -------------------- I have just changed the USB ports and I defiantly know it is working now because It has just installed the drivers for the keyboard. But when I try and boot into the BIOS, it won't let me... I can keep pressing "Delete" but it still refuses to work. But yet, when I do it with the PS2 keyboard, it works no problem.

I've been looking for cheaper keyboards in the $100ish and below range and it appears that the best ones are the Mad Catz Strike 3, the Mad Cat Strike TE, and the Steelseries Apex. If you've used any of these keyboards (preferably at least 2 of them) can you say which one do you think is best? Thanks.

Mad Catz announced today that it started working with Microsoft Co. on the development of next generation accesories for the Xbox One. I've had my Mad Catz FREQ 5 headset for a few months and I've noticed a crack in it already! :O I thought about what I want to do and thought where the red FREQ 5 and RAT 5 looked (in my opinion) amazing, I thought a Corsair mouse and headset (as well as a keyboard) would fit my Corsair Carbide 500R considerably better, I was wondering if The Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 Headset would be better than the FREQ5? (I do much prefer the Wired sets) Thanks in advance

(This a copy and paste from my blog so sorry for dumbing down some of the things but my point still stands) So a while back I bought a Mad Catz Cyborg G.L.I.D.E. 7 gaming surface (fancy name for a mouse pad) to use with my Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse. Specifically, I bought the one in the picture below. This turned out to be quite a mistake. Though the GLIDE 7 claims to be "optimized for laser sensors" I had occasions where, when using the surface, the cursor would move when I wasn't even touching the mouse and when I used the mouse without the surface, everything was fine. When I contacted Mad Catz about this issue, I received the following email: The Cyborg G.L.I.D.E. 7 gaming surface I purchased Dear Jake, Thank you for contacting Mad Catz Technical Support. In regards to your issue, please see the possible explanation below: The twin-eye laser used in R.A.T. mice operates in the infrared (IR) spectrum and works better with surfaces that are bright and reflective in the band of light in which the mouse operates. Because of the different coatings which can be applied to gaming surfaces and the different inks/dyes/materials used, it's possible to have a mat which is black, but 'bright' as far as the mouse's laser sensor is concerned. Equally, it's possible to have a mat which is white but 'dim' as far as the laser is concerned, which would result in bad tracking. Also, degradation in performance could happen on a surface you frequently use; with long-term use your surface will lose its shine in the IR spectrum. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to get back to us. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, [Persons name] Technical/Customer Support Rep At the time, I was extremely happy to receive a reply that explained in full why my problem could be happening, I was overjoyed to not be treat like the idiot most companies see their consumers as. So in this regard, I was satisfied, and because of that, I let the issue go and forgot about it. Then a couple months later, I'm cleaning out my mail box and I see the email and re-read it and think to myself, "wait, this doesn't fly with me at all." This was a brand new surface, so it wouldn't have lost it's shine or anything like that at all, so why does the GLIDE 7 not work 100% with the RAT 7??? It seems crazy that this happens because I love everything from the company, especially the RAT7. Has anybody else had the same problem with the same or similar products? or does anybody know whats going on?

Couldn't have done it without you! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys, this is the first time I've posted on a forum of any kind so I apologize beforehand if I mess anything up in this post. So, after years of gaming on a pretty low end laptop and suffering horrible lag and low fps trying to play the magnificent games available to PC gamers, I've come to a startling realization. I need a freakin' gaming desktop. I've been saving up for awhile now and after doing a bit of research (a good part of it from the awesome reviews from the guys at LinusTechTips), I've more or less decided on the overall build of my new PC. However, being that I'm not as knowledgeable in PC building as I'd like to be, I'm turning to you guys and gals at the forums to help me out. Here's some more info to let you know where I'm at. 1. Budget & Location I live in California, so I'd imagine pricing and shipping costs aren't going to be to bad. All in all I probably don't want to spend more that ~$2500 although if there's good enough reason behind it I won't mind raising that limit a bit. I'm really trying to make a More-Bang-For-Your-Buck kind of system, where I don't want it to be overkill, but I don't want to cut too much on the price if it means losing features. 2. Aim Although I am going to be using this PC mostly for gaming, I do also want a computer that can handle Adobe Photoshop and 3D Studio Max as I use Photoshop quite a bit, and I'm going to start learning how to use 3DS Max at school soon and would also like to be able to experiment and play around with the software in the comfort of my home. As for the intensity of the games I want to play, I want to be able to run games like Bioshock: Infinite, Watchdogs, Skyrim, and other such games without having to worry if I'm setting the graphics too high. I'm also going for a black & red theme for my build. Although I acknowledge that the looks of the machine are not as important as the overall quality of the parts put into it, I'd still like to go for parts that more closely match this kind of theme. So, without further ado, I present to you my current thought out build, as well as the monitor and other peripherals I wish to purchase and my thoughts into picking out each of these parts. 3. The Build So Far Main PC Build CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz 8-Core Processor ($174.98 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8 GTS 82.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($69.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($219.99 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill Trident X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($169.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($174.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290X 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($542.98 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper ATX Full Tower Case ($129.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 1200W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($235.99 @ Amazon) Displays and Peripherals Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor ($259.99 @ NCIX US) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($114.99 @ Amazon) Mouse: Mad Catz R.A.T. 9 Wireless Laser Mouse ($146.38 @ Newegg) Headphones: Rosewill RHTS-8206 5.1 Channel Headset ($49.96 @ Amazon) Grand Total: $2290.22 Full Parts List 4. So Why These Parts? CPU The battle between AMD and Intel is a tough one, and the choice to make between picking one or the other is just as difficult. But ultimately, I've decided to go with the FX-8350. After looking up multiple reviews comparing AMD and Intel chips, it became obvious that while the Intel chip's strength is not easily toppled, AMD chips do offer more for what you pay and in a lot of situations play on par with Intel. I'm also excited to see what having multiple cores means for future gaming, so that's another 1-up for AMD. CPU Cooler Although I know it's not going to be the best performing cooler running at it's price, it more than makes up for it (for me at least) with it's sexy looks and fits in perfectly with the black/red theme build I'm going for. Motherboard I'm a big fan of Asus' stuff, and as far as I know, their motherboards are as good as it gets. I admittedly picked out this piece over others because of its looks, but also recognize that it's a good quality mobo. However, if anyone has any suggestions for any other motherboards, perhaps less expensive ones, that still retain that black or red & black look I'm going for I'd be glad to hear them. Memory I'm not all that knowledgeable about system memory, but from what I could gather, these pair of cards are as good as any. Also, they go with that color scheme I keep mentioning Storage Being that Seagate is the only manufacturer I've ever purchased HDDs from, I really don't know who else to buy them from. I own a 1TB 2.5" version of this very SSHD for my laptop and the boost in boot times it gives you has been awesome. But again, I don't know too much about other HDDs so if you think I'm missing out on something better please let me know. Video Card This card is a BOSS from what I've heard, and the sexy Asus version of this card gives me even more reason to buy it. Hoping to get this card runnin on CrossFire with another 290x sometime in the future. Case It's big. It's black. It's sexy. It's got a nice sturdy handle on it. 'Nuff said. Power Supply Now, I realize that this behemoth of a power supply might be a little too much for this build, but considering that the 290x loves to eat up electricity and that I do plan on upgrading my system to have dual 290x's I went ahead and added this baby into the build. If you think 1200w is still too much even then, or maybe even that it's not enough, please let me know, as picking out a proper power supply was definitely the most confusing part of this build for me. Monitor The amount of positive reviews for this thing would make me think I'm crazy if I didn't go for it. I do want to upgrade to a triple monitor setup with three of these bad boys in the future, and they seem like the best monitors for the job. Granted, I didn't dig too deep when looking for a good monitor, so if I'm missing out on something here please let me know. Keyboard This is another area that I didn't dig too deep into. Despite that, I found a lot of positive reviews on this keyboard and the looks and features on it are absolutely spectacular. The only thing that kinda turned me off about this keyboard is that the letters on the keys are almost smack dab in the middle. This bothers me because I was planning on getting some stickers to add a Traditional Chinese layout to the keys, but I don't know how difficult it's going to be to put on these stickers without making the board look absolutely ridiculous. Mouse This one I'm a little iffy about. I've read really good reviews about this mouse, and I've also read some really bad ones. The overall features and looks of this mouse make me really want to buy one, but some of the reviews make me feel like I might end up regretting it. Still, I feel like I need to try it out and find out just how well, or how poorly, it handles myself. Headphones Last but not least, my first headset. I was looking for a headset at around the $50-$60 price range when I stumbled across this one and it left an impression on me. Don't know anything about headsets, so if you think I'm making a mistake in getting this, tell me so. 5. Final Thoughts That just about wraps everything up, with the exempt of just a couple questions I have for you guys. Win 7 or Win 8? I know that Windows 8 is a bit better optimized for some of the newer games on PC, but I've also heard of how much of a pain it is just to get some games started on that OS. Is Win 8 worth it? Or should I just stick to Win 7? Optical Drives Like, do I really need one? Am I going to cry profusely when I realize that I don't have something to stick all my CDs into or is it just going to be one of those things I install and never really use again? Interested in hearing your opinions. And that just about does it! Sorry if this post was too long, tried to get as much information for you guys on there as possible without boring you to death with too many lengthy explanations. Any comments or advice on this build are appreciated and I will get back to any questions you may have as soon as I can. Thanks for the help!
