Hi I don't normally need to ask for help. I can normally find what I'm looking for on internet or YouTube. (Which brings me on to this segway) like LTT YouTube channel, where you can find lots of tips and trick to get you pc running it's best. Anyway I use to build my own computers a long time ago. Then got bored fixing friend's Packard Bells once they knew. Just recently I've rebuilt my ready made pc with a new board and case. Problem is I can't seem to get the bios right. I just want it to be stable. It's doesn't need overclocking as it plays the games I want, but crashed sometimes. The new board lets me change everything where the old one didn't. So my ram is now running at 3600 as it should. But I think I've done something wrong some where and can't figure out what. I'm not use to all the options. If anyone can help with some advice on setting the bios up that would be fantastic. My pc isn't anything fancy. Just upgrade when I can. The spec is Asus strix z270f gaming motherboard I7 7700k CPU with Asus liquid cooler from the ready built Corsair vengeance 16gb 3600 Geforce gtx 1070 8gb Bios is 1501 ver Thank you in adavance

I have an i7 7700k with an RTX 2070 right now. I built my pc back in late 2017. I think my pc is still pretty good right now but I've been thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a 40 series card, probably a 4070. I was wondering if I should upgrade my i7 7700k to a newer one like the 12th or 13th gen i7, or wait for 14th gen. If I do get a 4070 will my GPU be bottlenecked by my i7 7th gen ? -
Can use rtx 2060 super with i7 7700k processor for gaming and streaming ?? Without any problems?

Hey all, So I decided to add 2 more(maybe 1 depending on the price and availability?) RAM sticks to my current build as I think current 16GB setup started to not be enough for gaming. I have some questions about this but first let me give you the build; -Intel i7 7700K Kaby Lake -MSI Z270 GAMING M3 -DDR4 16GB's of RAM (2 x CMK8GX4M1A2400C14) So these RAM's are slotted in Slot 2 and Slot 4. I can't seem to find the same part numbered RAM sticks for a reasonable price in my country. What if I, lets say decided to add these (CORSAIR CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB)) sticks on top of the current ones and slotting them in 1 and 3 slots? Would that cause problems? The speed and the latency values doesn't match as we can see. Can I add these all together to achieve 32GB's of RAM? Do you recommend doing it? If not, would getting the same sticks over the current ones be considered as an update? Please help, thanks!

Hello everyone, i was planning on upgrading my cpu cooler to a aio and saw the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB. I personally son’t know too much about pcs and was looking for some help. Is it possible to connect the rgb of this AIO to my pc? I have the z170 pro gaming mobo the deepcool dq750 psu and a sharkoon tk4 case. I think thats all the important notes. It said it would come with a 3 to 1 splitter but will i be able to connect that?

Hi guys! I m going to buy a new gpu. I m going either with the GTX 1660 super (U$S 280,94) or RTX 2060 (U$S 416,59). I mostly play CS GO, do some solidworks, keyshot and Premiere/after effects My currents spects: i7700k z370 gaming 3 Thermaltake smart 600W white 16gb 3200mhz AOC 240hz which one would you guys recommend? I have an Asus tuf z270 mark 2 with an I5 7600k. I found a deal on a I7 700k so I got it. Removed the i5 and put in the I7 and once I hit the power button the fans and rgb kicked on but it didn't post. I waited like 3 minutes and still nothing no beeps or anything. I have the latest bios for the mobo and as soon as I put the i5 back in it posted in like 10 seconds. Not sure what to do haven't had any experience with CPU's since 2011. Thanks

Budget (including currency): 2000$ Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Looking to purchase this summer. 240hz, 1080p, all low settings. So I'm looking to finally upgrade to playing at 240hz in Overwatch and was wondering whether it was worth it to upgrade from a 1070 gtx to a 2070 Super as numerous websites show that there will be a bottle neck from the CPU I'm currently using which is an i7-7700K. One site quotes the bottleneck at 10% while the other quotes it at 18%. I usually play on all low settings at 1080p and am looking to purchase the xl2546S by BenQ Zowie. This monitor does NOT have G-sync, so it is imperative that the setup I play with is able to maintain a solid 240 fps during team fights. I was planning on building a whole new system next summer as the 3000 series Nvidia cards would likely be coming out. I figured I'd sell this upgraded system (i7 7700K + 2070 Super) while building the new one. What would you do here? Is this bottleneck substantial and not worth it, or would I still be able to play at 240hz no problem in spite of the bottleneck? I really want to play at 240hz as soon as possible. As well due to this whole COVID thing, Canada computers is issuing final sale on all purchases, so if I purchase this card (the Asus Strix 2070 Super) I'm stuck with it or I would have to resell it, likely at a loss. Any advice here would be great. At idle my CPU is 35C having no problem. When under load it start to go to 90 or higher. My specs are: 1080Ti strix 32gb (4x8) crucial ballistic 3000mhz i7 7700k with Dark rock 3 pro Asus STRIX Z270E GAMING 1350 watt psu. I checked and changed cooling paste already to make sure there was nothing wrong but it doesn't seem to help. I also added 2 fans on the top of my case but it doesn't really get better with that either. I play cod:wz on max settings 2k 90fps with raytracing on and it hits 90/100C. Is this ok because I dont know what to do now. picture is after playing 1 warzone match and closing the game. other picture is my build/airflow.

I just got a new asus z170a to replace an msi one I was having problems with I have just put in my i7 7700k and my 1080ti and it won’t boot the cpu light goes on for a second the ram light goes on for about 10 seconds then they go off I have reset my cmos I can’t figure out what’s wrong

Hi, I m currently building a pc and I m a bit worried that my cpu cooler that isnt delivered until now wont fit my mainboard. One aspect I m worried about is that it wont fit because of some plastic part at the IO. I got a nzxt s340 case and a normal profile ram, that shouldnt mess with the cpu cooler. Hello! I'm going to buy a new CPU for my PC for better editing and rendering. I'm mainly thinking between one AMD cpu and two Intel cpu's. From intel I thought I would buy the 6700k (360 €) or 7700k (393 €) and from AMD I thought I would buy the 1700X (450 €) My max budget is 400 € but if the extra 50 € is worth on the 1700X I can pay the 50 € extra (the 1700 cost 390 €). What CPU do you guys recommend and why? I still have to buy a new motherboard with OC and SLI support too, doesn't matter if it's AMD or Intel CPU. Thank you!

Hello there once again I find myself encountering almost the same problem I had a long time ago. I use my R9 290X (4GB) on my daily use computer and since I've had it for almost 3 Years now I noticed from the start the performance wasn't so great, but I'm sure if it was for some other reason it would've gone away when I upgraded my PC to Kaby Lake, but still the issue is there. now one thing that boggles my mind is that I have the GTX 1050 (2GB) Mini from Zotac and then when playing the same games I tried for cards I think 1050 runs better, Titles such as Battlefield 1, Mafia 3, Assains creed Unity, and so on. When I tried to do the benchmark on Valley the R9 290X got a score of 1614, and the GTX 1050 got one of 1315. Shouldn't the R9 290X outperform 1050?

So I'm renovating my bedroom/office and I think it's time for a new case. I recently upgraded to Kaby Lake and plan to use Optane when it comes out. Right now I have the Kraken x62 water cooler, an i7 7700k overclocked to 5ghz and two Evga gtx 1080 ftw's overclocked to 2ghz, and I was hoping the h440 would have sufficient airflow for them. Any info would be awesome thanks! And if it wont be good temps, suggestions would be great as well. (preferably white and black) -
Hey all, I need some advice. I have an h60 with a stock fan attached to my skylake i7 7700k. The cooler does not cut it, even in case temp of 13c (winter with windows open) the cpu was still getting up to 100c and performance was dipping down to 4000 MHz at the min (not happy...). My cinebench average is 933 normal room temp and cold room testing it was 953. I am a workstation user so cpu performance is a must. I want to be able to overclock. Is this normal or is my H60 unit defective? can I get away with the same cooler and upgrading to a push pull config with EKWB EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm) White High Static Pressure 120mm Cooling Fan. how much will buying nice thermal paste help? I'm not trying to spend more than $45 dollars fixing this problem... also my stock fan is loud under load (like loud- is that normal too?). thanks!

source: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2017/01/19/intel_kaby_lake_i77700k_cpu_delid_relid_results I saw PCPer's podcast this morning and there was a topic in there that showed something interesting what happens if you delid a 7700K and replace the TIM that Intel put there with some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra well ... they got a 23 deg C decrease in package temp, that's huge! and it appears that it's not because of the TIM, but the distance between the IHS and the silicon die - this was pointed out in some other Anand discussions --- one other thing PCPer pointed out is that Intel's people said that the TIM needs replacement anyways I suspect this won't be a problem for people who don't OC their chips to the limits nor for the people who buy regular non K CPUs, at least not for couple of years the TIM will crack eventually and will need replacement that's a huge deal

since it doesn't seem like any one has posted numbers on a 7700k on a low profile cooler i figured id post this for anyone searching for it cooler: SilverStone Argon Series AR06 cpu i7 7700k case Cooler Master Elite 130 aida64 results During synthetic tests it does throttle but in actual vr work loads its fine at around 60-75C and it doesn't start to throttle till around 80% utilization Tl;dr it works but throttles if to much stress a bigger cooler would probably be better if you had space in your build

Is a zx70 motherboard and a k SKU i5 or I7 and a good cooler (Cryorig H7, Hyper 212 Evo etc) worth it. I'll be buying a pentium , a z270 board and a gtx 1060 or rx 480 (6/8gb), in order to be able to upgrade to and utilize a K SKU CPU with a cooler, in a year or so. Would i be better off saving money on the motherboard by £40 and buying an ssd, more ram, a better gpu, a nicer case, or cutting my spending down?

Brought a new cpu now pc turns on but display and peripherals wont's. I have a i7 7700k AsRock Pro4s board(i know im getting a better one soon) GTX 1070 FE and a evga 750 power supply I already tried resetting the bios and booting with out the graphics cards (but i know the Graphics card is working i already tested it on the machine im on now) im not good at computers save me internet seriously -
Hi there so i was about to buy Ryzen 1700 until or may i say "intel" i found a good deal with an i7 7700k cpu for 300 euros which is 60 euros less than the Ryzen 1700 in germeny the only thing that i’m concerned about is, is this cpu good for video editing? Especially for video editing softwares like After Effects and Sony Vegas 13 because i use these a lot. -

So I'm planning on building a new PC and I'm planning on having an I7 7700K 16GB Ram but I'm not sure for GPU, I'm thinking either a single 1070 8GB or Crossfire RX480 8GB, mostly going to be doing 1080p gaming and later on get a 1440p or 4k monitor. Would I get better performance with the 480s or the 1070?
