In the coming month or two I'll be building a new PC for personal use and some work applications. I have a budget for the GPU and I'm looking for a GTX 700 series card. I've set aside a cap of amount $170 USD with a few cards already in mind. I don't have any experience in comparing benchmarks, so I'm not sure of what card performs the best. But here's what I've got, all off of Newegg, in order of what I think would be best: 0.) EVGA 750 2GB FTW http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487064 All of this to say, I would like some help finding the BEST overall card for a 1080p Dual Monitor setup, with the possibility of upgrading to a single or double 4k monitor, day to day work, and some occasionally heavy gaming. The cards I found are all run-of-the-mill, mover fan designs, but if anyone knows of some blower type 750Ti-s (maybe a reference card) in my price range it would be awesome to hear about! Also if you know other sites/distributors that have the same products cheaper, or maybe just general feedback about the specific cards listed, I'd appreciate it a lot! Thanks you guys so much! I look forward to hearing what all of you have to say about these cards whether it be personal experiences, opinions, or general thoughts on them; and seeing what you guys come up with, as I haven't had much luck or experience myself! Edit: at most I can stretch my budget to $210 USD and I would look into an AMD series card if it can beat out the competition. (I'm looking for performance/dollar, no one manufacturer has me tied down as of yet)

Hey guys, I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Dual SC ACX 4GB and was wondering if anyone has any experiance with overclocking this card? what were some clock speeds did you acheive? screenshots would be the best! I would preferably be using precision X or msi afterburner Thanks in advanced!

Just wanted to get some opinions. I'm looking to set up a gaming system that I want to last a long time without need of replacing gpus every other year. I'm hoping to get 4+ years out of the gpu set. With the increase in in-game texture resolution I want to get some 4gb cards (looking at SLI). I'm looking to play on one 1080p screen (144hz with Gsync). I want to maintain 60+ fps on games over the course of the next three or four years on high/ultra mixtures and 4x AA or so. I don't need ALL the eye-candy but I'd like to have a good chunk of it. I know that there is no such thing a "future-proof" build but I want this to last me a while before I need to upgrade. Just want some opinions on SLI and if we will hit over 2gb on a 1080p screen anytime soon (I have heard BTF4 is around 1.7G). I'd rather spend more money now than a year or two down the road be bottlenecked by vram. Furthermore I'd like to know if anyone thinks (pure speculation) if two 760's or 770's will be under-powered or not. Feel free to call me out if I've made a mistake in my thought process here. Which one would be a better choice for future proofing a new build? An AMD 7000 series card, something like an 7950, or should I go with a newer and cheaper card like an GTX 760? Or pony up for an GTX 770 or wait for AMD to release the 8000 series desktop GPU's?

With great daring and a flair for the egotistical, my first post is all about me! I've been saving up most of my pay-cheques for a long time, longer than I had intended to, which has enabled me I've ended to purchase something far better than I'd originally planned. In some ways I'm glad I waited as it's led my down the wondrous route of a mITX gaming machine which is where all of the grooviest PC builders hang out. I've made some... interesting choices so please cast your experienced eye (or eyes, I discriminate against neither cyclops or those with binocular vision) and point out any potential flaws. PCpartpicker link: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/131eH Proposed parts: CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 Cooler: Thermalright APX-100 RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Storage: Plextor M5S 128GB (might get 256GB) SSD WD Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5" HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" HDD (running externally for backups of my important stuffs) Video Card: EVGA GTX 770 (blower style, yo) Silverstone SUGO SG05 w/450W PSU Monitor: Dell U2412HM Keyboard: Ducky Shine II white LED w/ Cherry MX Blacks (wanted browns but they stopped producing them and it came down to blacks/white led or blues/blue led. They were pretty hard to get in the UK even when they were still being produced and it was luck that I checked up on stock when I did as I was going to buy it at the same time as my parts. I do type pretty heavy and I do like blacks, but I am coming from a shitty laptop keyboard so it'll be a big change) Mouse: Perrix MX-2000 (a larger sized mouse looks comfortable, basically the run of the mill Avago ADNS-9500 laser but only £24.99 compared to something like the £60 Mionix) Probably will buy some thermal compound not sure what the stuff with the CPU cooler is like. Budget-wise I can spend more to improve areas (as you'll see below) but I'm not exactly anxious to spend money. I don't particularly see much benefit in a z77/z87 board and 3770k/4770k as the overclock will be pretty limited by power draw, but please disabuse me of this notion if you think it'll bring significant gains. I was toying with idea of a GTX 780 and 1440p screen but I'm not sure it's worth the premium. There's been some problems I've had to deal with before I could get this going which, whilst meant I saved more, has only left me with three months before I get back into education and go to university. I probably going to end up barely gaming whilst I'm there so it makes little sense putting in an extra £400 for the card/monitor upgrade and a 24" screen will most likely be enough coming from a tiny laptop! Besides, I might be pushing it with the 780 on that 450w, even in the Xeon does save some power. The EVGA 770 has allegedly got the internals of the Titan/780 cooler but a cheaper plastic shroud. It seems to have caused some complaint but apart from the gold bit I don't mind the plastic cooler, probably matches the aesthetic of the SG05 more anyway (although that awesome cooler does draw you towards a 780). I mostly concerned with how quite the blower cooler is (Titan-esque cooler seems much quieter than the old 680 reference blower) as I want this build to be as silent as is possible, which I why I'm not going for Silverstone's modular SFX PSU as there are many complaints about the fan being noisy. If there's room I might put a 120/140mm fan on the CPU cooler if the 100mm fan is too noisy. Hopefully I can order parts tonight/tomorrow morning! Ramble over.

Hello guys! The other day my dad asked me to build him a new CAD machine for his office, so I'm doing the normal thing of starting by creating a spec and pricing it all up :) However I have never really used "professional GPU's" and whilst looking through the QUADRO series I found that they had awful specifications on them - literally they're close to the 500 series in terms of specs. But, I know they have better drivers and due to that they gain a lot whilst working in CAD. Quick note , this is for autocad 2013 as from what I have found on their website they like dealing with Hp etc so they only list compatible options inside specific pc's. Other specs I'm going for are 8gb of ddr3 1600mhz ram Intel 4670k, 4 logical cores with hyperthreading And an asus z87m motherboard. So TLDR: Quadro 2000d vs gtx 770 for autocad:2013 Will a gtx 770 run and if so will it have the drivers to compete with the lesser hardware? So in conclusion any help or input is appreciated, not in some rush here however sooner is better. Have a nice day, Conor
