Hi all! I was trying to prepare my laptop for Windows 11 (even tough my CPU won't be supported officially), and at first the PC Health Check app said my PC won't be able to run it. I checked if I have TPM enabled, and it was, so naturally I checked Secure Boot, which was turned off. I turned it on, and now I don't have TPM enabled, the TPM Manager Tool says it "cannot load management console", with an error code 0x90080029. If i turn off Secure Boot, then TPM is still unavailable with the same error code. If I reset the BIOS, TPM works again, and Secure Boot is turned off. (Though whynotwin11 states SB is supported, it is turned off) Now the unfortunate problem is that I don't have any kind of settings in the BIOS to set TPM on or off. Can you guys think of any kind of answer or troubleshoot for it? It would be appreciated a lot! Laptop info: Model: Asus GL502VT BIOS version is 3.0.3 up to date as of 2019/06 If you need any more information hit me up! And thanks in advance! P.S.: I won't install Windows 11 before it comes out later this year/early 2022, as this is my only PC for work and gaming, but I wan't to be prepared.

I just recently bought GL502vt-ds71 from Amazon for $999, for the first run it was relatively slow process ... i had the laptop charging while turning on for the first time , it went to the screen saying "Hi There" and some text and a Button saying "Next" but the problem was that there was no cursor or pointer on the screen and moving on touchpad also didn't show any sign of pointer (stood there for like a minute or so)so i force shutdown and restart but then whenever it completes the asus rog logo it displays a screen saying "Your Pc ran into a problem , restarting ...." and after that a line showing "Driver_Power_State_Failure" . Pc restarted , then again same screen, then i force shutdown , took the charger pin out wait for a minute then insert the pin back then again after Asus logo same Your Pc ran into failure but after that line showing "DPC Watchdog Voilation" Please tell me any solution to make this laptop work or setup. Is it the failure of hardware or software ? Any solutions ? Any suggestions? @Dackzy @Pendragon

Currently it is on sale @Amazon , for a price of $1108. Specs looks promising for average gaming (but with 970m , i can play my favorite games like Hitman 2016) and other productive tasks (Android development and C++/Java Programming , and maybe some Graphics Illustrator and Photoshop). I need expert opinion on this , is it the best price/performance ratio ? or should i look for another options. I am going to buy a laptop in this month , and i have been searching for a laptop since 4 months now ... Other options include :- 1. Dell Inspiron 7559 , $760 but was $735 at once point last month i think. 2. Ideapad 510s , ~$550 and then like after 2 or 3 years go for 1060 clevo laptop maybe. My current laptop is 6 years old (Fujitsu Ah-531), core i3 3rd gen .. so i am not an expert and even Ideapad 510s is way better than my current laptop. I am a CS major currently in my last year. P.S Budget is under $1000 , but if the Asus deal is worth it i can increase the budget for that. and i will only game while plugged in and at home but most of the time i will be doing my assingments and projects , so productivity > Gaming for me now. If you guys have other options under this budget then please advice. I could however go for Razer Stealth , but i have seen some experts saying that Razer has poor thermals. So first off I'm going to say that I'm 100% new to really making threads and such. I am completely new to this site sooo... As to some background about this laptop, I can say that I am not the original owner. I was given this laptop for free by my sister's roommate because it was broken. I just gave it a clean install of Windows 10 and I thought the laptop was working fine... until this happened. Specs: GL502VT Intel i7-6700HQ Nvidia GTX 970m 16GB DDR4 SODIMM The issue: So mainly what happens is whenever my I update my GPU past a certain point, anything that access my GPU runs very slowly. The GL502VT being an Optimus forcefully enabled laptop, it doesn't seem like much of an issue, but it is. Almost every app uses the GPU now-a-days in Windows 10 and it takes a while before it gives up and uses the iGPU or something like that. How I figured out: Obviously, I tried to update the driver. When I made the clean install of Windows it seemed to be working fine. As anything the first person would try to do after either testing some games or right after they install the OS, they try to update the driver. I tried to update the driver and like I said, the laptop became extremely unresponsive and such. I just downgraded the driver and mainly thought about it. Why it's an issue: If your ASUS that's reading this (which this is similar to what they said) is "Why don't you just use the driver we provide" and to that I say "incompatibilities". I can't do encode videos in VP9 with my GPU using an old driver (Or with hardware acceleration on my CPU because that came on 7th gen Intel processors). Along with that, some games don't support older drivers (Minecraft Bedrock Edition just crashes). Lastly, I can't use my GPU as encoding either for videos, OBS crashes whenever I try to use my GPU for encoding. How I noticed it again: I probably noticed this again when I updated Windows 10 to either RS3 or RS4. I believe that in both of the updates it updated my GPU's driver because it was it was out of date. This would've been fine except for the fact that (obviously) this driver doesn't work with my laptop. What have I done: I've tried a bunch of drivers, I've tried to change my vBIOS to both a custom one and my backup, I don't believe either actually got written to my EEPROM. I'm not sure what all has happened to this GPU because I'm not the original owner, but it is a good laptop spec wise if it did work. Conclusion: I'm honestly not sure what else I'm missing or what I should try next. I have tried to contact both ASUS and Nvidia and neither of them have helped me get closer to a fully working laptop. Thanks for reading my first attempt at starting a forum thread. Back once again with another question! I have changed my two contending laptops to the Asus GL502VT and the new razer blade stealth. If you are about to make a rude comment saying don't choose any of them, just please don't. They are around the same price, with the asus one having a 970 in it and the stealth having the new kaby lake processor. I choose these two because I'm deciding between having a 970, and being able to play a wide range of games, but can have a varying 3-6 hour battery life, or the new stealth which has no dedicated graphics, an 8 hour battery life and is thin compared to its competitor. I could really use the help deciding between portibility and power. Thanks, ~Wolf585

Hi people. I want to buy myself a slim gaming notebook and after some searching I decided that Asus gl502VT will be a very good choice. I didn't find much reviews of it, but it seems to be just an upgraded version of g501. What do you think about gl502VT, is it worth it?
