Aside from the fact that both are bloody expensive things to buy and things have gone mental, I had come to terms [sort of] with £600 for a 6950XT as painful as that is. I figure it's worth the extra over the 6800XT for longevity and it's a good card. Do we think that I should be considering going the extra mile for the 7900XT? For me anything more than half of a £1000 is a big purchase, and paying £800 just seems ridiculous but is it worth the extra? Advice appreciated. Thanks.

Last year when building my computer i had already had the rx580 and just decided to use it with my system anyways because it works great in games, What it doesnt do so well in is VR. Recently around the beginning of summer i got the rift S and immediately had to overclock to get 60fps, some games were unplayable on the lowest settings like Blade & Sorcery. so sense ive been saving up a bit and its getting close to black friday im wondering if anyone has good vr upgrades, this has been challenging because i want a good performance boost without having to spend 500$, i was thinking about getting a rtx 2060 but figured i should ask here first, im aware of the 3000's series but probably wont have the money for it any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. My specs: I know it isnt balanced Ryzen 7 3700x rx580 8gb ddr5 G.skill 3200 DDR4 MSI B450 Tomahawk max

Yo! I'm a graphic designer who's interested in getting some new monitors. I've been planning on having a x3 monitor setup including 2 good side monitors and 1 superior in the middle. Since my setup is located in the corner of my room i'm looking for something that can be as close to the wall as possible. I'm currently running a SC 980ti. My work includes Frontend Design & Development, Graphic Design, Photo & Video editing and gaming when im not doing the rest My budget is around 1000-1.500 USD Please let me know your recommendations and thanks a lot in advance!

Hello people, I want to know if its worth to buy the KFA2 1080 for 500 euros(its the cheapest) and if it would be smart to pair it with an i5 3570k (4,2GHz).I've seen a lot of videos/benchmarks that the i5 2500k OC can hold the gtx 1070 at 75-90% usage and i want to know if my i5 can do that with the 1080.I know, the 1080ti is just around the corner, but im still a student(16yrs old) so my budget isnt too high.At the moment im still running a gtx 480 and still playing bf1 and rainbow six siege etc pretty fine.(Low settings but above 65fps constant).Do you also think that the 1080 can be useful that long time?Do you think Vega will beat the ass out of Pascal gfx? thanks for reading & answering

Hello Guys, Is the gtx 1070 still worth on almost march 2017? Still running a gtx 480 and wanting an upgrade. Dont want to buy it if there are better gfx coming out like 3 months later you know

Hey peeps, I just setup my NAS today! i7 5820k ----> underclocked to 2.4 Ghz for power efficiency AsRock x99 m-itx Node 304 <3 2 x 10 tb seagate ironwolf 250 samsung 850 evo cache kingston 32 gb hyper x fury flash drive Antec earthwatts 550 Gold But the last bit is a little irritating . As I am using x99 and a 5820k, i need to have a video card. I am currently using an HD7950 Ghz Edition as my display driver. That as we all know is a very power hungry card. I was wondering what is the cheapest and lowest power gpu i can put in there for 24/7 operation Cheers Guys

Please help me decide what to upgrade to. My RX470 reference is throttling while playing Andromeda, Watch Dogs 2 on High settings. I am from India, my budget is 20,500 INR (Max!) I am stumped by a few factors. 3gb 1060, high price of 6gb 1060. Amd Vega price/release date delay in this price segment or near. Plus to make things worse Govt. is adding GST extra taxation that will make PC things even costlier in India, or so I've been told. As if they weren't costly enough to begin with. My initial thoughts were gtx 1060 6gb/rx 580 4gb. Gtx 1060 is slowly edging out of range (price/availability of 6gb version). If I hold out things might get even worse because of a new tax system for desktops. Fellow countrymen are welcome to suggest also (online shops etc. for a good deal)

Hi everyone, I am looking to upgrade from my GTX 770 - I have a 1080p 144hz monitor (maybe will upgrade to a 1440p moniter in the future). I'm thinking between a 1070/1080 - I was wondering what would be the best model/make of the 1070/1080 for the price (I would like it factory overclocked at least). Thanks! My current system is a GTX 770 Maximus VI Gene (z87) Intel Core i5-4670k OC'd to 4.3Ghz 16g DDR3 G.Skill Ripjawz Memory 1333mhz memory Corsair 750w Gold cert powersupply. Samsung 840 Series SSD 250g. Hi, I'm looking for a graphics card preferably from Nvidia that can possible run ARK on high to Ultra settings, I have a current spending limit of approx. £200. I have looked at the 1050Ti and it looks quite good, but of course, I feel asking here would get me a better answer. Thank you for your time ;D

On re-sizing windows, a weird lag is sighted on screen. Alongside with this, while watching YouTube videos, the video itself starts to stuttering for a couple of seconds, and then back to normal speed, only to a video level, the audio is fine. Are they related?. I attached a link with 3 videos showing the anomalies: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XGiMn11CJERj1QB6iRAARPjEj5R7Am3V Specifications: Case: Thermaltake Versa N21 Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z170 S (Revision 1.xx) BIOS: 3504 O.S.: Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 1803 CPU: i5-6600K 3.5GHz Skylake-S (6th Generation) CPU Cooler: SteelSeries Hyper 212 HDD: WD Blue 1TB (WDCWD10EZEX-08WN4A0) for storage SSD: Kingston A400 480GB for O.S. Hey everyone, New here however not new to linustechtips of course. I am builing (kind of) a new gaming PC and wanted some opinions regarding what I should go for. Apologies in advance if this is the wrong thread and please move it if it is Okay so my budget is around $2100-$2200 AUD and I am looking to have a custom PC built however I am unsure what to chose. I am focusing on 3 things, CPU, GFX and RAM. I know that I will go with 16gig of Ram so that's okay, however where I am torn is the gfx and cpu combo. I am using this site to build my PC: https://www.pccasegear.com/category/1411_1918/pccg-gaming-pcs/customisable-systems Essentially you select a starting point and them customise the parts (to an extent) how you want them. I am wondering if I should go with an i5 8600 or an i7 8700. I understand the extra threads etc however I don't do any streaming or video editing etc so I unsure if the i7 is needed. I do a lot of gaming and play mostly Fortnite, League and the occasional big title like FarCry and GTAV etc. I will also be running on 1080p 144Hz monitor. Second thing is the gfx and I'm again torn between a 1070 ti or a 1080. I am able to make a system (Just) that has both an 8700 and a 1080. If you're interested to see then you select the link then go the 'Gunmetal Gaming' system. Make the cpu the 8700 and the gpu the MSI 1080 gaming X, and then make everything else the lowest (besides 16gig ram) and this comes to $2183. Or I could change that system to an i5 8600 and it's $2043 or again keep the i7 and chamge the gfx to the MSI 1070 ti and changes to $2133. ORRR change both and it's $1993. (too cheap maybe.) This system only has a Kingston 140gig SSD and 1TB of HDD however I figure these are easily up-gradable later. So my question again is, what to go with first. the CPU and should this be the i5 or i7 and then the GFX card. Thanks.

I hope there's some techies and knowledgeable guys on here (I know there is!) that can finally explain this one to me because I can't seem to get an answer from anyone and I can't think of a "true" test to determine the answer myself: S this is the problem, I have two graphics card and 4 monitors. 1 card going to 1 monitor (my gaming monitor), and 1 card going to the other 3 monitors. No SLI config, just two discrete cards. I think that the horsepower from each should only be getting used to draw what its connected monitors ask for, however becuase of the way Windows works, i.e. drawing/dragging between the different monitors, how does it actually work and am I getting the benefit I want, which is I want my 1 card and its 1 gaming monitor to be completely dedicated to each other, and the other 3 monitors to never be requiring help from that 1 card. For context, but I don't think it matters, the card for gaming is a 2080ti from EVGA, and the other is a 1060 3GB. DxDiag shot below. (btw, DxDiag shows it how I think it works). I'm basically looking for knowledge about how this works and whether or not I'm doing the right thing. Thanks a lot, Boogle

Sup guys, I want to setup two 660 Ti cards but i'm not sure what bridge i'm supposed to use. I have a gigabyte motherboard. Is there a SPECIFIC SLI bridge I need to use? What do you recommend?

This is just a simple question as a, "What should I get first type scenario." I am looking into upgrading my system into an LGA 1151 i5-6400 system from my current AM3+ FX-4300. But I also wanted to replace my graphics card. Going from an R7 260x to a GTX 1060 or RX 480 (Still debating, but leaning towards 1060 for power consumption). I know the 4300 will be a massive bottleneck, which it already pretty much is in this case, but I was wondering, should I upgrade core components first and have less of a bottleneck now/ pay more upfront? OR Buy the graphics card now and upgrade the system later after saving up some for potentially more (Maybe a 6600k or such?)

Thinking of upgrading my gfx card ready for bf1. Not sure wether it is better to get a 1070 (£400) or the equally performing 980ti? (£360) or even a 980 ~ 16% under [performance overally wise) 980ti for (£270). I want your guys opinion on what to go for, and if it will be worth the premium going for the newer pascal. Power consumption is not an issue as I have 750w and I need over 150fps on 1080p ideally on bf1 to maximise my monitor for which this will power so any other suggestions welcome.

Hows it going, I have a huge request that I need to ask from someone. I've been wanting to make my father a logo for his handymen service. I found an image online that I love! But, I'm pretty sure we all know I couldn't use it due to trade marking. I want something very similar to this image. I was hoping someone could help me out. I don't really have anything to offer. Hopefully someone is willing to help. Thank you!

Hello LTT! I have the possibility to upgrade either my mobo/cpu or my graphics card. Now i dont know what to choose, but heres my current config: Some random 1155 socket motherboard i5-2320 CPU 6GB of kingston 1333mhz memory MSI GTX550ti Graphics card So, i can either get a MSI R380 card, or a set with the following: Intel® LGA1150 Core i5-4460 MSI B85M-E45, Socket-1150 Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600Mhz 8GB KIT So my question here is, what should i choose to upgrade? I'm only playing CSGO.

My current notebook (Asus A55VD) has a GTX 610M in it and it runs games decently. However I would like to have a better visual experience and I cam across an external adapter for laptops. However it connects via ExpressCard, I do not have one of these ports on my laptop. But I do have an open HDMI and Serial port. Would getting an adapter for one of these ports to the the ExpressCard work, which one, and how much would it impact the performance?
