Hi I have a moondrop dash keyboard and a scepter O35 monitor. I occasionally plug my Aorus 15pYD laptop running windows 11 into. When I do this the laptop has its screen disables and is effectively docked into the monitors. However If I plug my headphones into my moondrop dash games basically inevitably freeze and audio crackling issues begin shortly after. With plugging into the onboard audio port the audio will also occasionally crackle and games will occasionally freeze but it is an annoyance that happens once or twice an hour for a couple minutes rather than something that starts and wont stop after around 10 minuites/ I have tried using DDU to uninstall graphics drivers I have uninstalled and reinstalled audio drivers I have uninstalled my speaker audio drivers I have used the nvidiaprofile inspector to enable the second monitor thing Id be happy to answer any questions but some help getting this issue resolved so I can use my DAC and play games without issues would be much appreciated. Edit: to clarify what I mean by freeze I mean my inputs will occasionally be held for long periods of time or they wont register, and I get the occasionally actual freeze but its often more of a my inputs don't work.

TL:DR, After a power cycle, the GPU in my laptop doesn't seem to idle properly anymore, meaning the temps are constantly higher, at least without unplugging, and replugging-in the laptop SPECS: Model No: Acer Nitro 5, AN515-45 CPU: Ryzen 5800H GC:RTX 3070 Laptop RAM: 32GB DDR4 OS: Windows 11, 64-bit Quick background, I've had this laptop for just under a year, and it's been working fine, temps are usually good when performing light tasks like web browsing, using Word/PowerPoint etc. it usually tops out at around 45°C, which is good because the fans wont spin up past 1500RPM (the lowest speed). obviously temps would rise once running a game (maxing out at like 93°C on DOOM: Eternal etc). This was until around a month ago, when I realised that after a power cycle the fans were louder, and using the NitroSense monitoring tool, I could see why: The idling temps were now 55°C+, rising to over 65 when doing ANYTHING... this would raise the fanspeeds to over 3000+, which I'm used to while gaming but not when literally doing nothing intensive. I tried everything I could think of short of reinstalling Windows, i performed a DDU of both the iGPU and dGPU, closed every startup program that could've been causing it, but to no avail. It was a week or two later I noticed in NitroSense that the GPU monitoring was actually showing a temperature, and graphing it. there was 0 usage, and the Nvidia GPU activity window in the tray was showing the GPU as inactive, but there it was, still being graphed, and suspiciouslyඞ my CPU temps were now 10-20°C higher. Whilst trying to figure out a solution, I figured out a temporary fix: If i unplug the laptop, wait for the dGPU to go idle, then plug it back in, then it stays off. This 'solves' the issue, as the temps will return to normal as NitroSense now shows no GPU temps/usage. Occasionally, it will get stuck on when opening certain applications, like games or even Chrome can start the GPU up and it wont idle again, although turning the laptop on, or even waking it from sleep will cause the dGPU to just sit there increasing the temps when nothing seems to be using it. I have no idea what i could've changed or what could be causing this, so if anyone has any ideas how I could diagnose this weird behaviour, or maybe a fix (someone must've noticed this before). I'd be greatly appreciative. a couple of other things i've tried was disabling hardware acceleration is discord (although the issue persisted even when discord wasn't open during the issue so I wasn't expecting that to help), setting the GPU preference in the Nvidia control panel to Auto-select (that was what it was originally on, but i decided to change it anyway to no avail). Oh, here's a pic of the weird behaviour, the area I've circled blue is what it looks like waking the laptop from sleep (or turning on), and the graph above shows the correlated CPU temp increase. dashes in the red and orange in the GPU graph is what it looks like when the dGPU is idle. As you can see, I've performed my unplug/replug technique, although its kinda annoying and probably not good for the charging plug to be used over and over again. UPDATE: in case anyone has found a similar issue, the 'fix' for this was a Windows update, a fairly large one which seemed to solve the problem.... probably means the issue was with how Windows 11 was managing the power so....

Hey, i'm searching for some help. My girlfriend and I made the choice to buy a gaming laptop for practical reasons an ASUS ROG STRIX G713RW (2022) : - Ryzen 7 6800h with radeon graphics - RTX 3070 Ti Laptop DDR6 8GB - 16GB 4800 Mhz DDR5 - 360hz / 3ms display The laptop comes with a software (armoury crate) to adjust settings (CPU and GPU) to optimize performance (screenshot). We would like to have someone who could advise us on settings via software or other things to optimize our performance in games. Thanks in advance

I have a Dell G5 5587 which is 2 years old now, it thermal throttles a lot but i have put up with it, even when browsing or idle-in, it is at 70 degrees, and as expected reaches 95+ when gaming or doing anything. I tried undervolting at -135mv but it doesn't do anything and yes the undervolt is applied I checked in HWinfo. Does this have anything to do with the battery? as in diagnostics my battery life is about 40%. If not how can i fix this throttling? Please help. Thank you.

I have Dell G7 15 7590 with core i7 8750H, RTX 2060, and 16GB of RAM. I've been facing issues with CPU temperatures and power, It was all fine till today I faced sudden drops in average fps in games in general titles including Battlefield V, Minecraft with shaders, GTA V and Watchdogs Legion. I've cleaned my fans and vents of the cooling system recently so it's not a issue with cooling and even if laptop overheats I can't sense the heat in the keyboard region which is different from usual as the sensors are reading 99° sometime even 100° and body seems cool when sensed. Plus during the 5 minute factory default stress test leads to the graph i attached and it seems an issue with power as seen in the graph. I tried troubleshooting for a while but can't figure anything out, would appreciate help or advice to the issue.

A couple months ago I asked a few questions concerning desktop builds and other things related to computers. Since then, I have started looking into laptops, specifically because my life just doesn't work with a desktop. I have done a fair amount of research, but have not come up with many laptops that have the features I want. If I could get some suggestions, that would be great. I would like a laptop capable of handling general schoolwork as well as coding (I am taking coding classes for some electives), and also capable of running games such as minecraft (modded), subnautica, scrap mechanic astroneer and other similar games. I would like it to be around 1500-1600 US dollars, but could go a little higher if I think it will benefit me for a long enough time. I would prefer it has fully upgrade able ram and storage (my pet pea with the asus zephyrus line). Any suggestions would be great!

This is sorta my review and thoughts on my current laptop for both collage and gaming. Basic specs: i7 10750H 1650 ti (4gb vram) 16gb sodimm 512gb intel ssd 1080p 144hz panel about 60ish% srgb ips 50wh li-ion battery to begin with the laptop itself is in my opinion pretty had to justify given its retail price of 1150$ (usd) but i purchased mines for 999 so its less of a blow. performance: The intel i7 10750H feels very overpowered for the 1650ti in the sense that the gpu is always maxing out while the i7 is just turboing for no reason at 15 to 30% usage. further more thanks to the amped up 6 core trying to reach 5ghz constanty battery life is quite low. Stock settings allow for about 2 hours of usage on max brightness, take note that the display isnt very bright either but more of that later. this usage can be solved by throtleling the perfomance. ive used throthle stop for this and undervolted the cpu by 100.5mv to maintain stabilyti altough you can you 110 but it can be unstable. aside unddervolting it i aplied clock mod to reduce the clock speed to 75 % of its native speed and limiting all core frequency to 3.5ghz. given these compromises now i can get about 4 hours on a full charge while maintaining full brightness or a lil below it. but if your not a very techsavy person i would not recomend this. as it requires thinkering wth the bios and such. Gpu performance: being a 1650 ti with 4gb of vram this card hits its limit quite easly by simpling pushing up the graphical settings if you want a fidelity focudes expirience. but for fps games it can push solid 90+ fps on medium and low settings quite easy. the games ive played so far have been fortnite, gta V , warzone and train sim 2. theres really not much to it aswell aside it getting a bit hot when nearing its limits. ie 80c , for this i undervolted the gpu by about 90mv to keep it undercontrol but it dint work that well. all in all its alright i supose. Display: its mediocre being an ips panel i expected more from it being honest. refresh rate is great at 144hz providing smooth browsing and scrolling, but whats the point if its gpu cant really hit 144hz at decent quaility settings? i would trade it for a 120hz or 90hz display for better image quality or higher brightness since the colors are dull and bland and brightness suffers a bit in lit enivroments. battery: its bad. for a gaming laptop i guess its alright but less than 3 hours on stock settings is very concerning. i tought the battery was damaged when i realized this, but after running test its fine. a bigger battery is really needed in this in my opinion. Multitasking: its awesome for that as you can expect for a 6 core cpu and plenty of ram to go about. keyboard and track pad: a bit clicky for typing but decently big, its not very ergonomic feeling but works whilest the track pad is a bit on the small yet enough side of things. the ssd is decent. all in all this is pretty terrible value considering you can get rtx 3050 laptops for this price. i really dont recomend this unless its your only option like me thanks to the chip shortage. excuse the badly spelled english, its not my main language. any questions or doubts ask ahead.

I'm going to college soon and will be needing a new laptop. I don't mind it being heavy so a gaming laptop is what I'm after. I'm majoring in computer science so a good display is good to have but not prioritized. I will be doing some gaming on my spare time (Valorant, War Thunder, and COD). Performance and Build Quality (in that order) are the things I'm looking for and a good keyboard is nice to have. I'm looking for something in the range of $700 to $900. I've found 2 laptops with in this price range. Lenovo Legion 5 Ryzen 5 4600H GTX 1650Ti 16GB RAM 120hz display 256GB nvme ssd and a 1terabyte harddrive Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 5600H GTX 1650 8GB RAM 144hz Display 512GB nvme SSD I've seen JarrodTech's video on Youtube comparing Ryzen laptops and he said that the Legion 5 is the best all round one with great build quality. Let me know which you thing is the better option in terms of build quality and whether or not Zen 3 is worth it. If you have some other suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

so i made the mistake of buying an HP pvaillion gaming laptop (16-a0032dx). it has a core i5 10300h and a GTX1660ti max q. it worked great for 2 years but now im running into issues with my graphics. recently i started getting BSOD's stating DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, especially when playing valorant but usually before queueing into a match. it started as an annoying restart to fix it, but i believe after the latest nvidia update (5/12/22) it crashed so bad that the GPU wouldn't show in device manager even after disconnecting the battery to reset bios. today i spent 2 hours just trying to get my gpu to be detected at all but only the integrated graphics would work. ive had to do two windows reinstalls now, thankfully all of my data and programs is always on a second hard drive but i can't be reinstalling windows every week. does anyone have any ideas as to what i should do if this happens again or if there is any other possible root to my suffering im not thinking of? i would like to believe this is simply a software issue since a full windows wipe does fix this (temporarily) however at the moment im not sure i can rule this out.

Hi I've a MSI GE62 6qd apache pro and lately my temps have been bad while fans are at max speed. It has never been repasted since the 7 years I've had it. I've decided I'm going to repaste it but also want to replace the thermal pads while I have it apart. Only a issue is that I don't know what size and thickness to get for the thermal pads. Also tips on thermal paste and pads are always welcome. I won't put liquid metal on it as I'm always caring it around and don't want to risk breaking it or having to redo it every year.

Hello, I recently purchased a laptop from HP Omen, I have already spoken to HP about this issue and they seem unsure what to do so I have come here to ask instead. One other thing to point out is that when I first bought the laptop, this issue never used to happen. Essentially what happens is whenever I try to use an app that requires a Microsoft login, it takes a very long time to login (sometimes up to an hour), or the app itself will take a very long time to load (most likely because its trying to log in to the Microsoft account upon the app start). Interestingly it does not happen with any office apps, but does happen with lots of pre-installed/built in apps, such as the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, Xbox console companion and even games like Minecraft (Both Bedrock edition itself and the Java launcher) and Sea of Thieves. Sometimes, this issue has even happened on the Windows login screen, which then means I have to do multiple restarts. The account itself works completely fine on other devices, and I have tried multiple accounts/users. I assumed this might be an issue with Windows, that was until I personally reinstalled Windows 11 (using the media creation tool), downgraded windows to Windows 10 (via media creation tool, so once again a fresh install) and then sending it to HP who also reinstalled Windows. Long story short, reinstalling Windows does not fix this issue. In fact, even in the Windows setup screen when signing into an account it takes longer than I would expect (once again, I have also tried multiple MS accounts) One interesting thing to note, is after a specific app has loaded/signed into to Microsoft once on that boot, it will login completely fine after closing/opening it again, and the issue only happens again after restarting the laptop. Laptop model: HP Omen 15-en1000sa Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5800-H GPU: RTX 3070 RAM: 16GB Windows version: 22H2 (been through multiple updates, and also had the issue when trying Windows 10) Thanks

I started playing GTA 5 in my Dell G7 Gaming Laptop(i7 8th Gen, NVIDIA 1060 Max Q, 16 GB Ram). I use MSI Afterburner to check temperature of my laptop. When i play in Optimized Graphics settings of Geforce Experience i get 90-100 degree CPU temperature. When i play in really low graphics then CPU Temperature is 100 degrees. But... When i play without power supply then the temperature is only 60-70 degree. Can someone help me out.
