My first gaming rig is finally assembled! Before I rattle off the meager specs, I'll talk about how this rig came to be. I got the core components of this PC as a gift from a friend that no longer wanted it. The PC was a generic workstation with 4 GB of DDR3, a Pentium E5400, a crap PSU, and various other oem junk parts. I salvaged the case, mobo, and optical drive for this rig. That alone let me buy the hardware that I wanted without spending more than $200 on the whole computer. That out of the way, here are the specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Scrapyard wars and penny pinching led me to pick this) Oem Asus Essentio CM5571 motherboard and case 8 GB DDR3 Samsung DIMMs PNY CS1100 240GB SSD WD Blue 1 TB HDD EVGA 80 Plus Bronze 400W PSU EVGA GTX 950 Cooler Master LGA 775 120mm cpu cooler Cooler Master 90mm case fan Very modest parts, I know, but it handles 1080p gaming like a champ, and I may be upgrading to an i5 and an RX480 in the near future for VR. That said, this case actually looks pretty good considering that it was originally a barebones workstation. Embracing those roots, I've dubbed this tower the "Twerkstation". May its bootylicious performance never falter!

EDIT: after some of the advice thought I would edit my post. So my TV is 4k ready but I'm happy not playing in 4k (sorry didn't make that clear) Im currently using a 10 year old Mac so I can only currently play GW2, so I'm looking for a Windows pc that will play GW2, WOW and FF online on high to ultra graphics. I'm a total newbie so I have no idea what I need so would be looking to buy a pre built for better peace if mind, any help is appreciated

I'm planning on finally upgrading from my terrible 2013 Toshiba Laptop that can barely play League of Legends on 60fps in low-medium settings to a budget gaming PC. I have $USD 700 as a budget and am planning on playing games such as League of Legends, CS:GO, Dishonored, Far Cry 4 and Overwatch. I have peripherals and a 1080p display. Here is the link to my rig. So as I'm not really new to the PC master race of Gamers, I've never actually had a desktop - I've always used a laptop (where I travel a lot). Since I think my decent gaming laptop will be around for a while I want to switch to a more permanent setup A.K.A. a desktop. I know a ton about computers but I just can't choose the one that's best for me. I have been looking at the iBUYPOWER bb905 because of its power at a reasonable price, with a GTX 1070 (8GB Mem), Intel core i7 6700 (About 3.4 to 4 GHz), 8GB of ram, and some other good specs for only $1,300 at BestBuy. Now I know that you should normally build one yourself, you know "Do it up custom". I would love to do that but I'm not very good with cables as in knowing what each one plugs into. I know where everything goes, but it's just the fear of screwing up in the cables. What I want in my desktop is to not have to get a new one for a long time, but as new parts come out I will upgrade so I need something with some growing room. I do have some custom builds on PC Part Picker, but none of them match the bb905's bang for the buck. Another thing I was looking for is to be able to buy the latest AAA titles and not have to worry about them not running and not only that I need the games to run smoothly and look good (50+ FPS ; Full HD - 1440p). So if you have any suggestions please notify me and send links if possible and keep in mind I have a budget of about $1,300. Hey guys! Today I thought I'd lay out the plans for my first rig that I'll build (Had assistance with the last one). Any and all suggestions and reccomendations will be welcomed and very much appreciated . A few things worth noting are that I live in Australia and the budget for this build is somewhere between $2000 and upto $3000, However I like to buy hardware that'll give me the most bang for the buck and I can't justify forking out ridiculous amounts of money for the lastest and greatest hardware for only a marginal performance increase. Now the aim for this build is to give me a nice playable experience on all games for the next couple of years. Namely 120fps on BF4 and a smooth framerate when Star Citizen gets released. ( I'll probably go SLI/Crossfire a year or two down the track, when it is necessary.) The plan is to purchase a nice BENQ, 120hz, 1080p Monitor Initially with potienal for two more 1080p monitors being added in a year or two. For peripherals I'll probably stick with my Deathadder 2013 however any reccomendations for a nice fairly priced Mechanical Keyboard would be welcomed. Also any suggestions for audiophile headsets (and soundcard maybe?) would be appreciated. I was thinking maybe a AudioTechnica AD700x due to it being fantastic for FPS, or perhaps I'll wait to see how Audiotechnicas new "Gaming Headsets" fair. I already have a copy of Windows 7 64bit so thats not a problem. Now for the actual build I decided to go with a nice black/red theme as I want something that looks nice without sacrificing on performance. I am making some plans for a build about mid-August, primarily a gaming/streaming (twitch.tv using OBS) rig for about ~$900 - $1,100 USD (not including peripherals). I have some very salty tastes as far as what I'm looking for in each item, including a blue or green aesthetic look overall. I'll hopefully be running dual monitors, but may up to triple monitors later. No surround gaming, just for multitasking and overview of broadcaster, dashboards, and the game itself whilst streaming. 1080p monitors on DVI / HDMI. I live in the middle of the United States, small town with no place to buy major computer components nearby really. (an hour and a half away at the least). corsair is by far my favorite retailer for reference. Currently, I have written down Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 650D (I liked the overall look, side panel window is a must) Processor: AMD 760k Athalon X4 @ 3.8GHz Processor (I want an AMD Processor if anything at all) Video Card: Unsure, looking at the NVIDIA selection for the PhysX and reputable recommendations from others. RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (x2 4GB Sticks in Dual Channel) Motherboard: Looking for standard ATX size that can take the AMD 760K Hard Drive: Crucial MX100 256GB SSD (I'm looking for an SSD, Linus has convinced me of one thing so far, and that is SSD) Power Supply: My want is a Corsair Modular PSU, but if anything I want a modular power supply. Cooling: Liquid cooling as a kind of "bragging rights" piece. Closed loop. (Probably a Corsair H110 280mm) I've sat down and said nothing should be over $122 USD, but with prices fluctuating on some I could go heavier on others. I tried and I got a ~$750 USD build, but its missing things and probably has some compatibility issues that I'm not picking up. If push comes to shove, I can give up the water cooling and have less storage capacity on an SSD. I'm "shopping" using amazon / newegg and for corsair products I use corsair's website itself.
