Hi, So i have a little problem, today i noticed strange behavior of my CPU that is i5 6600k and it gets wonclocked to 800 Mhz when i got FFXIV open and watch something on YT or HTML5 video upload thingy (like movies or animes :P). Once i pause the video, the clock speed is okay (no drops fps are good cuz i have counter and the is no staggering from sound of the movie i watch :P). Thermals are okayish (not getting to 80 but exceeding slightly above the 70 rads of celsius) , HALP! Cheers

So I recently came home to see my cpu frequency @ 980mhz on msi command center. I freaked out because my frequency is normally at 3.8 mhz constant WITH oc genie enabled. My guess is that my computer restarted and let oc genie enable its self overclock.... BUT why is it underclocked below stock mhz??? Is it a form of "turbo boost" or some other amd technology? Itll boost back up to 3.43 mhz when under load but during idle it sits at 980 mhz. Weird.

Hello Is there a way to force 3D clocks on a Asus GTX670 at the driver level to stop the card from down clocking? Setting maximum performance in the Nvidia control panel doesn't stop the card from down-clocking. The only way I have found so far is to run GPUZ all the time but I would prefer a different solution as it doesnt always launch successfully at startup. Thanks

HI LTT Community, Usually I play my games around 144fps, but I use this computer for other tasks since I am a college student, like viewing pdf's, etc. I was thinking, if I downlclocked the monitor to 60fps it could increase its lifespan. It would be a pain in the ass to switch every time that I wanted to play a game, but for a monitor at this price, I wouldn't mind. It was my first post here, thanks everyone

So my current pc specs are: I5 6400, HyperX DDR4 2133MHz 8x1, H110M-DS2. I want to upgrade my ram to 16gb but 2133MHz ram is uncommon now, and I'm not sure with what's the best way to do, I'm thinking of buying an 8gb DDR4 2400 and downclocking that to 2133, is that the best way to go?

Shadow Rock LP PSU: Corsair vs550 (550w) If I have a game (ex. The Witcher 3.) up, the memory clock sits at 405MHz. If I switch the power limit in Afterburner to 110 and move it a few times, the clock may go up to 4000 MHz. When I bring the game into focus, it'll downclock again. What I've tried to do to fix it: Update drivers (with and without DDU), Roll back the drivers, RMA the GPU, Turn up the power limit in msi afterburner to 110%. Fixes the crashing and downclocking, rarely. Switching the power limit multiple times sometimes did the job, not anymore. Switch performance in the NVidia control panel to "Prefer maximum performance". Also in Windows. The drivers are all new, the temperatures are fine, the RAM doesn't max out, even though it's 8gb. BIOS is at default, tried without any external devices, I have no viruses. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

when I use the msi afterburner to overclock the gpu, it downclocks it's self from 650mhz to 50mhz!!!! My gpu is 525m my cpu is Intel Core i7-2630QM my max is 52c

My clock speed is constantly at 1607 MHz. When I restart my pc it goes down to 160 or something like that for under a minute then it just jumps back to 1607 MHz EDIT: I installed an older driver and now it works

Hello. I have an issue with my GTX 970 and bandicam. When playing games, my gpu runs around 1750 MHz on the memory clock, however, when recording with the bandicam preset for Nvidia NVENC I experience a significant down clock in the memory clock, its usually around 250 MHz. When using shadow play I am not able to produce the same results, the memory clock stays the same while recording. I have never had issues with bandicam losing performance before so when I saw my frames start dropping I started up Gpuz to see what was going on. I have tried lowering the quality (from 80 to 30) and the only change I saw was the usage of the Video Engine Load. VEL was around 70% usage for 80 quality video and around 25% (shadow play is around 25% usage when recording) for 30 quality video. Take a look at this image. You will see the area where I was recording with bandicam. I lose about 15% of performance when I am recording. It seems as if the gpu down clocks the memory and diverts power elsewhere, hence the VRel Performance Cap Reason (GPU capped because of voltage not thermals). When I record with shadow play I do not get VRel performance caps, downclocking, or anything weird, all I see is an increase in the Memory controller load and the video engine load. The card also hits its thermals just like it always does. Only with bandicam do I hit VRel. The core clock and memory clock of my ASUS Radeon 7950 HD downclock when I have a YouTube video playing (also happens when I'm gaming and watching youtube for music), when I'm using certain programs on the desktop, when I'm using OCCT (just the core clock), and when I'm in certain parts of PC games Question: Is there any adjustment that can be made to make sure that both clocks remain consistent throughout any task? I don't think this is a core or memory voltage issue. My overclock is stable at: 1050 core clock (MHz) 1600 memory clock (MHz) 1150 core voltage (mv) 1600 memory voltage +20 power limit (%) I've passed many 30 minute tests with OCCT with error check enabled and I've also passed many unigine engines. I've also passed 3DMark 11 tests I'm currently using MSI Afterburner My CPU overclock is stable @ 4.5 GHz with a 4.5 GHz cache; passed 8 hours with intel extreme tuning utility Mobo BIOS is updated to the latest version GPU is updated to the latest beta driver (15.4 Beta). GPU BIOS has never been tampered with Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Dear linustechtips-Community, I've recently upgraded my AMD FX 8320 CPU to an Intel Xeon E3-1231v3 CPU, because i had huge Bottlenecks in CPU-intensive Games. Currently i'm running an older AMD Graphiccard, its the HD 6950 2GB from XFX. I've configured out that my GPU is scaling higher with the CPU and i've got more FPS in several Games, but there are still so many Scenarios where my Card just works with 60%. Also i have the additional Problem that my Card clocks down from 830mhz to 725mhz, i don't even know why? Well i'm asking myself how is it possible that even a Processor that is in some Scenarios way faster than an Intel Core i7 3770 could bottleneck an old AMD HD 6950... ??? - I never hit a critical Temp-Area with CPU or GPU - My System uses just up to 330-400 Watts while Gaming (620W Power Supply) - I'm using enough Ram (8GB DDR3) - All latest Drivers has been installed - Installing Games on SSD or HDD doesn't show any difference. - Same FPS with Low or High Details in the most Games. - reinstalling Windows several Times The only 1 thing that i didn't replaced, is my Ram and Power Supply. But i won't say that my Ram or PSU could be the Issue, or? Its a f*cking Headscratcher by this Test: my old i5 750 and nVidia GTX 9800GTX+ reached more Framerates in Assassin's Creed 1 than with my current System. I still have on all Assassin's Creed Titels huge Framedrops + low GPU-Usage. I'm pretty pissed off about that i can't use the whole Perfomance out of my GPU in simple Games like CS:GO, Guild Wars 2, Skyrim, Assassins Creed ect. It can't be true that an overclocked i7 4770K could be the only 1 Option for my weak Card ... I hope someone can explain that Scenario way better than me and i hope that i can find the issue together with you guys! (if you need In-Game Screenshots with the low GPU-Usage, tell me that!) Hi, I was recently given some Kingston Hyper-X DDR2 RAM (KHX8500D2K/4G) which totaled in 8GB of RAM he gave me for my build. I am using a Gigabyte M720-US3 (Revision 1.0) and it says on the Gigabyte Website under the Specifications Section that this board supports 4x 1.8 Volt Sticks up to 16GB RAM. However, on the RAM Sticks, it says that they're 2.3 Volt Sticks. Therefore, my question is that if I was to put this RAM in my Motherboard, would it downclock itself to a safe voltage or would it cause the Motherboard to go up in smoke? I need to make sure I have a certain answer from someone as my Custom Build is my main PC for what I do. I've also got in contact with Gigabyte Tech Support but they're really slow, so I would like to try and get a good answer a little quicker! Thanks for getting back to me, Sam.
