Anyone got any sources on how to obtain firmware for AVR's that Denon now deem a legacy product? Have an AVR-X2000 I picked up cheap a year and a half ago that had no HDMI output and just the other day I bought a second one that had a dead amplifier circuitry and I switched the board with the HDMI switching from this new one into my existing one which worked no bother. Unfortunately, that board also has the main processor and firmware chip on it too and its not been updated to support Spotify connect like I had done with my one. And it now refuses to update since Denon have now marked this unit as legacy since June last year according to the entirely useless Denon customer support person who also seems unable to send me the firmware directly. So now I'm torn, cause I use the Spotify connect feature more than I ever actually use the video output of the thing, but it then makes my entire purchase of the second reciever a massive waste of time and money. I also probably could locate the ROM chip on my old board and switch it to the new one, but I don't have the equiptment or skills to be able to pull off such a procedure without entirely destroying everything... It's just frustrating casue these have the ability to be updated "locally" via the web gui as far as I'm aware, and failing that, there is a USB port on the front wired up for data and I'm led to believe It can be used for updating, but Denon just seem to refuse access to the firmware. Anyway, I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions.

Hi, this is my first post so bear with me. I recently got a new receiver the Denon AVRX2600H. It worked great. Turned on when i put the TV on and turned off when the TV was off. Now when i put the TV on the receiver goes on but when i want to raise the volume with my tv remote it raises the volume of the TV instead of the Denon like it always did. And when i turn the TV off it only turns the TV off instead of both the TV and receiver. So i believe the TV or receiver loses connection with each other..So when i'm done watching digital tv for example, i have to press 3 buttons to turn everthing off. 1 TV ,1 receiver and 1 for decoder for digital TV. I have reset the receiver completely and turned OFF all settings for ARC and then everything back ON. And just now i turned my TV off and 20 seconds later the receiver turned off on its own... mind boggling. And when i turn the TV on and receiver is already on it turns the receiver off.. i'm lost with options. Any idea? New HDMI cable? Sent receiver back for repairs? Thank in advance

Hi all, I recently purchased a new AVR, the Denon x1700h and I'm having some trouble getting a sound output through eArc. The setup is: PC connected to an LG C1 with a 10 meter optical HDMI 2.1 cable. The LG is in turn connected with a normal HDMI 2.1 Ethernet enabled cable to the eArc port (HDMI port 2) with the eArc port on the AVR. The problem: I can't get any sound output from the TV to the AVR. I also can't get any video output via the eARC port from my TV. In order to get video I have to connect the eArc port on my AVR to a non eARC port on my TV. This is how I ran through the whole AVR setup. Things I've done: - Enabled eArc and selected "Passthrough" on the tv. - Selected eARC as audio output on the TV. - Enabled "Control mode" on the AVR. - swapped the cable with another one. - Selected "AVR" as audio output on the AVR. - Enabled CEC on the TV To verify that it wasn't my PC, I streamed some YouTube videos. Alas no sound either. There does seem to be some kind of connetion between the two devices. My TV says that HDMI 2 is available, but again no video output. I can also turn the AVR on and off with my TV remote. I have succeeded in getting sound to work via Optical, but I of course want to get the eARC functionality since that's what I paid for. Every single guide I've read/watched, including the manual from Denon themselves say that it should be as simple as connecting the two via eARC. It appears that is not. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi I have recently just bought a Denon S716H soundbar with a subwoofer and 2 wireless speakers I currently have a Samsung QE65Q60T TV, and i am currently watching TV channels from a TV-box (internet), that has a 2.1 hdmi port I noticed that the soundbar has 4xHDMI 2.0a Input and 1 Arc output, and you can see with the uploaded image that it comes with TrueHD, Dolby Vision, HDR and so on Now on my TV it supports EArc but also just ARC, but it only supports Dolby Digital Plus not TrueHD Im just curious about where do i plug in my Tv-box in? Does it make a difference in sound or video quality if i plug it into the soundbar with TrueHD And what about the HDR? Image below shows what my TV supports.

I have a Denon AVR-540BT under my bed in my bedroom that runs my 5.1. In my previous set-up, the receiver could switch from my Xbox to TV (Samsung Q60A 32") audio with no problems. Completely automatically. Now that I've replaced that Xbox with a PC, the receiver will still automatically switch to TV audio when I open Smarthub, but when I re-select the receiver input on the TV, the receiver will not switch back to the PC automatically. Is there something that I can do to fix this?

I have a denon AVR-1603 that I use as an amplifier for my desktop, I want to run the sound from my laptop through that also. does anyone know of a stereo mixer I can plug all my computers into to put them both into the denon? I have found devices made for switching between more devices when you run out of inputs on a reciever but you cant have more than one input active at once. I was thinking about using a stage mixer but I would have to use 2 channels for each device because they are always mono mixers. Thanks,

Hey guys, Have a Denon receiver, and Logitech Z-906 speakers. I'm trying to bypass the dac/amp in the sub woofer. I hooked up all the speakers to the receiver, and they work perfectly. But I'm at a loss as to how I should connect the subwoofer. There's a pre-amp out on the receiver, but with a single out slot, and the only appropriate "in" in the sub is rca (l/r red white cable). Can't find the proper cable. So far, I've tried with a S/PDIF cable from the receiver to two different subs (one had a single in, the logitech I plugged into one of the two RCA entrances) Neither of them produced any sound. (one of them might be dead, the logitech works 100%) Any suggestions on how to hook this up properly.

Hey guys, I find myself really interested in sound setups of late, so I thought I would post a couple of questions here, since research on the topic doesn't always provide me with a clear answer. My primary goal is to maximize the sound quality when listening to music. Firstly, I have a set of Logitech Z906 speakers, which seem to have reasonable sound quality for the price point. They are currently plugged into my desktop pc. I was curious as to whether I should get an external DAC, and if yes which one. (for around 100$) And I'm still confused as to whether routing the sound through an optical cable is better than the 3 part analog cable they also provide. I've read mitigated opinions on the topic. Second, I have a Denon Amp, not sure exaclty which AVR-X model. It is fairly old (about 10 years), but still functional. I would like to hook it up to some speakers and a subwoofer. So far, speakers work fine, and if I plug my Beyerdynamics in, it also works flawlessly. I haven't been able to get a subwoofer to function though. (I've routed it through the pre-out Sub outlet, but I'm unsure which cable I should be using) Not certain whether it's a cable or settings issue. I'd also ideally like to know, given that I will be playing music mostly through my phone, if I should be getting some sort of DAC. Lastly, I'd like to create a cheap setup with speakers (I have), a subwoofer (I have), a cheap amp (have to buy) and a bluetooth diffuser (don't have). Is a DYNAVOX CS-PA-1 + FiiO BTR3 or MicroBTR a good combo, or should I opt for something slightly better? Thank you in advance James

I have a Denon AVRX3600 receiver I had just bought. I setup CEC with an older sharp tv, it has aquous sync (cec), and when I turn on and off the TV, the receiver turns the amp on and off how we like it. But if we turn on the receiver , it won't turn on the TV. Which is trouble some because this receiver can be powered on and off with a Google Home natively, and that part works, but even using the remote to just turn on the receiver won't turn on the tv as well. Is there anything wrong with this? I do know CEC isn't really mature, but it should work and has for other people. I have also tried a chromecast, but that will only control the power for the TV. *edit* I could put a chromecast on it and just setup a group for the amp and chromecast so they both turn on, but the Denon amp is classified as an "Alarm" and doesn't let me group it with anything in the Google Home App.

Needs some advice. I am looking to wire the lower level of a barn designed for cocktail hour / wedding receptions. Upstairs will have the DJ and dance floor etc but i would like to install a sound systems downstairs (approx 2,000sqft) to play background music, etc. Features like Wi-Fi, BT, HEOS, Airplay sound great and this needs to be a wired system. Ultimately i am look for good crisp sound. Also, ideally i would like to have 8 speakers inside (including 1 in each bathroom) and 2 speakers outside but could probably get away with 6 speakers inside and 2 out. Crutchfield recently recommended the following and i bought the Denon 4400 but i have been reading some mixed reviews. I do not intend to turn his into a home theater systems so simply looking for the best Amp to run crisp sound. For the price ($899), the 4400 looked like a good deal but i will await some feedback on whether i should return it or not. Secondly, depending on the Amp you recommend, what speakers should be paired with it? Genre of music will be country, rock, classical, etc. I do not have interest in large subs or bass. 714RB61IIB Klipsch RB-61II BK (pair) Bookshelf speakers (x8) 033AVX4400 Denon AVR-X4400H Dolby Atmos home thtr rcvr w.HEOS (x1) 714AW400 Klipsch AW-400 Outdoor Speakers (x2) Thank you in advance.

I've been slowly building a rack of audio gear for professional purposes. A piece I recently added is the Denon DN-410X (A 10 channel rack mount mixer). It works perfectly fine with microphones but when I try to run my laptop through it the sound from the laptop becomes unlistenabley distorted... sometimes. It doesn't matter what channel I plug it into, the audio quality just falls part. I've tried it directly out of the laptop and through a DAC. It doesn't make any difference. I did get it to work for one recording session. I didn't do anything different. just plugged the DAC into channel three. It worked flawlessly until I came back the next day and it was back to being distorted and unusable. I've tried plugging my phone into it as well just as an experiment and it worked fine. For what ever reason it just hates my laptop and i don't know why. any help would REALLY be appreciated. EDIT: After posting this, I discovered the fix! For some reason, the Denon Receiver would NOT switch automatically to 24p. I had to manually change the receiver to 24p via settings, and then the lip sync is PERFECT! Hopefully this could help some people who are going through a similar issue. Hey guys! I have a question regarding trying to dial in Lip Sync for my Home Theater setup. I recently completely overhauled my setup, and am having issues with 24p and lip syncing. I'm admittedly kind of new to all this, so I'm trying to figure this all out. This is what I'm running: LG 55" C7 Denon AVR 2400X Klipsch R26F Tower Speakers Klipsch R25C Center Aiwa Surround Speakers Devices Used: Xbox One S Playstation 4 Apple TV 4K If I try doing 24p mode in Blu-Ray, I get an audio latency issue, that I just can NOT fix via the TV's audio fix or the Denon receiver's fix. If I set the playback to 60p, I have no issue. I don't know if there's anyone who was in a similar boat, that could point me in the right direction. Since the issue is happening on three separate devices, I'm thinking it's either with the receiver or with the TV. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Some months ago i had this exact audio setup here in my room: -Denon DRA-37 receiver (connected to my PC via RCA/P2 cable) -Yamaha CDC-755 CD Auto Changer -Pure Acoustics QX900 Bookshelf Speakers These speakers would sit up at the table , right next to the TV, which caused a heck of a lot of vibrations on the table. Long history short, sold the receiver, sold the CD player and sold the speakers to my brother, all for the purpose of making some engine mods to my truck. I'm currently rebuilding my audio setup, here's what i have: -Denon AVR-1602 receiver (older, more powerful, fully revised by authorized Denon repair shop) -Denon DCM-360 CD Auto Changer (in great shape despite the age, revised by the same Denon repair shop) Well, all i need now is speakers. My room here has the ability to reflect sounds like you wouldn't believe, even the TV speakers sound good. I was talking to a friend that is a musician, and he told me that, if i put a SINGLE floorstanding speaker, like a Polk TSi300 or Infinity P252, at the very right side of my room and make it face somewhat towards the middle of the room, it would fill the stage up. Or i could buy the same pair of bookshelf speakers that i had before and fix those to the wall, one at each side of the TV. Here's a picture to illustrate both the concepts, arrows indicating roughly where the speakers would go in both situations (sorry making it on paint, and for the mess on the table, LOL): You can see where i sit on the table, very close to where the floorstanding speaker would go. So, any opinions on what would be the best for this setup?

So we have an Apple TV hooked up to our Denon home theater reciever. It works great. But, we also have outside speakers running off an old Sony reciever that we would like to play music from via the Apple TV. The Sony doesn't have an HDMI or Optical in. I have tested with another receiver, and I know that the Apple TV can output to HDMI and Optical at the same time. So I was looking at buying an optical audio extractor (Here). But the optical audio extractor isn't bitstream compatible. So here's my question: Does the Apple TV (3rd gen, not the newest) output music played through home sharing as PCM or Bitstream? Thanks!

I know quite a lot about receivers. But Sony, Is Sony even up to par to brands like Denon, Onyko and Pioneer? I'm deciding between these two receivers. SONY STR-DN860 and DENON AVR-510BT So basically I have the ability to get either one for basically the same price. Is Sony up to par now a days?
