I will be leaving home soon and though I have a decent PC at home(2700 & RTX 3060), as I will be out of my country and most likely living in dorms or shared spaces, I am planning to get a laptop. I will be running multiple VMs on Hyper-V for Kubernetes lab. So, my main priorities are powerful CPU, 32 GB RAM, good display (VERY IMPORTANT) and portability. Sadly my budget is around 1200$. I can get a used XPS 9500 for around 1000$. Should I go for that or should I look for something else? I never enjoyed using Macbooks. Should I just buy the XPS 9500 (4K display, 32 GB Ram) and change the battery in the future if needed? Please help me out if you are aware of anygood laptop that meets my requirements. Thanks

I already have an Samsung Tab S 7+ but I would prefer a Laptop that I can use together with it. My Budget is currently around 1000€ which would be equal to around 1200 USD. Planning to buy laptop this month. Choosing between a laptop with RTX 2050 TDP of 75w and RTX 4050 TDP of 45w. RTX 4050 is more expensive by P15,000 or ~$300 US. Hey everyone. I made a post earlier about what I should need to water cool my RX 5700 XT, and now I decided to go full YOLO on the water loop. I'm limited to Aliexpress only (no waterblocks available in Brazil for my GPU and the rest of the components would cost much more than they would if bought here, even with taxes included). I plan on using this copper plated waterblock, this pump + 200mm reservoir combo and this copper 360mm radiator. From my understanding, I also need three fans (duh), 6 fittings, some tube and a coolant, right? I found these brass plated fittings, should I worry about potential corrosion? About the tubes, I found this 500mm hard tubes (I would get a pair, just to be sure I have enough). What would be the ideal diameter on the tubes/fittings? Should I maybe switch to soft tube/fittings? About the fans, I was thinking on re-using the ones that I have in my case (it's a Gamemax one, I don't have much technical information on the coolers themselves. but, as case fans, I've seem worse), but I'm open to the ideia on getting some from Aliexpress. Lastly, the coolant I'm thinking on using is the Thermaltake T1000 (which is the only one available in Brazil that is not either from an unknown brand or that costs way more than it should), should I consider another option (from Aliexpress)? EDIT: I think I will probably switch to soft tubes (since it's easier to handle and it's dirty cheap here in Brazil) and switch the fittings accordingly (there's a model that is from the same brand, same price and it's also made of brass)

Hey, I want to buy a Notebook but I can't decide between the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14 with the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8 GB Ram 512 GB SSD for 649,99€ or the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14 with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 16 GB Ram 512 GB SSD 749,99€ The rest of the Hardwear is the same. I cant Upgrade the Ram, but I can upgrade the SSD later on. There is no Model available with the same specs but a smaller SSD. I want to use the PC for school and later University. No Gaming or Video editing etc. Only writing and lots of Googling. It should last for about 5-6 Years. Do you have a good alternative? If so please let me know.

My budget is around 3k Canadian, I am looking for something with a touch screen display, 16gb of ddr4 ram and something around the power of a 980 or greater. Hello, I am currently in the market for gaming laptop under 1,10,000 rs in India and stumbled upon https://amzn.eu/d/0LPlgDc , it looks good on spec but for some reason Asus's website has no mention of it other than a driver support page without the laptop's image and doesn't sell Tuf A15 with a R9 5900hx, also the manufacturer shown in Amazon is techfront rather than Asus. The port specification also doesn't match. Can anyone please help me. Hi, I'm hoping to buy a gaming laptop pretty soon. I'm based in the UK and have a budget of around £800, which could maybe stretch a bit further if there's finance available. I currently have a Lenovo Z51 that I got 4 years ago, it was never intended for gaming, it was just a good deal at the time. I do most of my gaming on console and I intend to continue like that but have recently picked up a taste for some strategy games which are best enjoyed on PC. It needs to be a laptop as I don't really have space to set a desktop up and I'd prefer to be able to use it around the house and play on the couch. I'll never be taking it away from a power outlet so battery life isn't a concern of mine. I'm primarily playing games like Stellaris and Total War which tend to chug a bit on my current laptop. I'm also not really worried about it having an awesome screen, because I doubt I'd notice anyway, but I would like some decent volume on the speakers so I can use it for YouTube while I'm cooking etc. I'm not looking for the best, but I am looking for best bang-for-buck type deal, that will still be able to play games reliably without major sacrifices to graphics and stuff. I'd ideally like it to have at least a 15" screen, and it doesn't matter if it's a bit bulky. Thanks in advance.

So I am looking for a laptop in the $1500-2000 USD price range. I want something that will perform decently as a gaming rig but will also allow me to run programs like Adobe Premier without issue when working on shorter (>20 min.) projects filmed in 1080p. Not being super in-the - know about hardware differences, I'm not sure how different configs will affect this balance or if it's something I even need to worry about at this price point. Nonessential preferences: I'm not a fan of products that scream "Gamer!" in their design. I'm definitely more interested in a portable product with a smaller form factor. I'd like a display with good color accuracy, though I don't need 4k. I have the luxury of waiting a few months to buy this in case new products are coming out that may affect prices. I love the look of the Maingear Element from one of the more recent LTT vids, but feel like I should inquire with people more knowledgeable than myself. So with all of that in mind, which laptops should I take a look at?

I have recently decided to upgrade a prebuilt computer containing a i7-4770 Intel CPU, without a graphics card to a one with a RTX 2060 SUPER. And upgrade the PSU to a Thermaltake SMART 600 80 PLUS. Problem (Question more like): My Mother board is a Dell Optiplex E 93839. It has a 8 pin conector which i can make with 2 of the 4 pin connectors from the power supply which is no problem at all. But the CPU power connector is a 4 pin one, and I have already used up all my 4 pin connectors to make the 8 pin. Luckyly the 24 pin connector is a 20+4 pin. So I can easily detach the 4 pin from that and use it. But the problem is can I? I have a 6+2 pin power for my 8 pin power GPU. In the second image you can clearly see the 4 pin connector next to the cooler. In the 3rd image on the bottom left close to the left edge of the mother board you can see the 8 pin connector for component power.Next to the SATA connectors Dont judge my ghetto drive cut out to fit my graphics card, Linus style, I am getting a new case soon anyways.

Hi all. I need a recommendation. I am getting burnt out from searching for my next laptop. I am leaving Apple, I think for good and I'm going back to PCs since 2005.... I need a new good laptop. My interests are: Basic graphic design for personal use with photoshop, illustrator and Indesign. Recreational gaming on the side (World of Warcraft mostly but I'm looking forward for more titles once I get back to Windows). Surf the web, email, normal work stuff. Since the introduction of thunderbolt 3 my eyes lit up with the immense possibilities of serious gaming occasionally by hooking up an eGPU at home without the need of caring with me all day a bag of bricks as my daily driver laptop, so this is a must have for me. So summarizing my must have are: At least 1x Thunderbolt 3 port (40Gbps). Intel 8th gen CPU 4 cores or more. >5 hrs battery. Descrete looks, no retarded red stuff. I have a brand new 27" gaming display that I'm going to hook up to this new laptop every time I'm at home so I don't really care about the display quality of the laptop, just FHD with a decent brightness. I've being trying to look for something on a budget for a year and a half now but that's clear that for now it's somewhat unrealistic. The best prospect I had till now was the Dell G3. The config with an Nvidia 1060 has everything I need, for less than a 1000USD$ but I'll have to swap out basically everything: from the very dimm display which is going to kill my eyesight at work to the hard drives and even the Wifi card if I get picky, all around it's going to cost me >1500$ with upgrades. At this point I'm better off spending a little more and directly buying something better maybe next year. I have looked everywhere and for now my best option is finding something with a cheaper dedicated GPU like an Nvidia MX150 (still decent) with a TB3. I'm already thinking of getting anything without TB3, there far better choices like the ACER Swift 3 for staying on a budget or even buying another dedicated gaming PC a couple of years from now and a decent laptop just for going back and forth from work but I'll never be able to justify buying 2 PCs for myself. I really wish I could get all my eggs in one basket with only one good laptop that down the line I could upgrade with a eGPU. Before giving up do you guys know of any laptop with the most similar specs? Thanks.
