hey there please help. I need to buy a laptop for work (remote, mostly done via chrome, tons of tabs though) and probably light gaming. Im mostly looking for one with decent integrated graphics, or one with a low end dedicated graphic (probably mx series), because of budget. Actually I have some laptops (both brand new and secondhand) I have my eyes on, but idk if the value/performance is actually good, so please gime me your opinion. Also Im in Indonesia, so if you give suggestion on a specific type of a laptop, we might not have it here or the price might not really be in my budget on indonesian stores. here's the the laptop that I think is cheap for the spec: 1. Asus Vivobook Flip Ryzen 5 5500u 8gb/256gb ssd touch - 7,4m IDR (500 USD) secondhand 6. Lenovo V14 G2 i3 1115G4 MX350 2gb 12gb(max)/256 ssd - 7,6m IDR (510 USD) new 7. Asus Expertbook i3 1005G1 MX330 2gb 8gb(upgradeable)/256 ssd - 6,4m IDR (439 USD) new 8. Acer Swift 5 i5 1135G7 Iris Xe 8gb(max soldered)/256gb ssd touch - 5,9m IDR (~400 USD) secondhand, hairline crack on the corner. I was actually gunning for the acer swift (because it was around 900 USD new, looks good, probably built good and I dont have problem even if the touch broke since I dont use one) until I found out that the ram was not upgradeable. I actually want a device that can last me at least the next three years so Im not sure if 8gb would suffice. Can someone enlighten me on which to choose or if I need to go look for more AMD stuff. I didn't particularly look for AMD because here, most still sell a brand new ryzen 3000 series laptops instead of the newer ones.

For more than a decade now, I haven't touched any brand new laptops or desktop for that matter. And I've only played on consoles when I was younger so I am really out of touch with the actual experience aside from the numbers and charts. Long story short, finally decided to get myself one(brand new laptop) and is currently assessing my choices. My budget is roughly $700 (living in SEA, so no amazon sadly, no matter how much cheaper it is, customs will eat me whole.) Looking for laptops I found this on amazon. Cant get it for myself due to my location but maybe you'll find it helpful. ASUS TUF Gaming F17 Gaming Laptop, 17.3" currently (12/12/22) listed at $800 was on sale for $699 which i find cheap for its specs. And HP Victus 15-fb0028nr currently listed at $769. Can't speak for them tho. Now, as for my choices that are locally available, I am currently considering Acer Aspire 7 a715-42g-r5c5 (around $700) and Machenike laptops (around $700-890, brand I've never heard before) like their L15(i5 variant) and F117(i5 variant). They both have dedicated GPUs (rtx 3050) which were better than other laptops of the same price range (mostly GTX 16 series and MX330 or the sort) based on what I saw on physical stores. We all know that budget laptops always have certain places where manufacturers cut back on, so what would be some places where you guys would allow cutbacks to happen and where would you spend the money rather towards? If you can provide the detailed knowledge towards what specific parts would be perfect for such a budget laptop, please do so. Just wanted to know this before going out and buying one.

Hey guys. I am a graduate student and I am studying electrical engineering in VLSI design. A lot of my school work is focused around projects based on simulations on Cadence, Gem5 (simulator of virtual processors), report writing, web browsing and lots of coding. I am looking for laptop that could handle these tasks smoothly and have good battery life. My budget is 800 bucks. What kind of laptops should I look into? dual core / quad core, 4 Gb/ 8 Gb, SSD or HDD. I will be using both Windows 10 and ubuntu in the same laptop. Thanks in advance. Kartik

This started as a journey to find a decent budget laptop. My goal a Dell 7567 with a gtx 1050ti and the IPS panel. I ended up with the gtx 1050 with IPS and a $100 credit to my credit card after 2 hours and a review of some of my favorite expletives. The final cost $620 and some frayed nerves.

Hello, first time using site and a bit of a noob to this all (know basics on PC but not much else so go easy on me). So I was were looking for a cheap laptop for my Mum today, she literally only needs it to type on Microsoft word as she's working on a book currently so I'm thinking a cheap laptop with a 4gb of ram will do. I was looking around the £200 price range (unaware of regional equivalent) when the staff said that the laptops they sold with this only had 32GB of storage which they say was not enough to run the basics or even windows properly. The staff then were pressuring us more heavily to the more expensive laptops saying those were the only ones that ran properly in the store. We left to think so I'm asking is this true? and if so should I be looking for laptops around 64gb of storage? and can I get one still for a cheap price, around £250 even with word and windows 10 on it or am I being too optimistic? Any feedback would be appreciated :)

My budget is around 300-600$. I have a decent PC, so I only need a laptop that I can bring to class and code in the class. I also may use Blustack or Nox to write an app on Android. I will try to buy it on BF or Cyber Monday since I can get it for a better price. CPU: I will love to have i5 Coffee Lake if it possible RAM: 8GB / 16GB If the laptop already has 256 GB SSD or more will be awesome!

Hey! So I'm hoping to get a laptop soon, however unsure what to get. I'm on a low budget (£400 - £450) and I just need a laptop for media consumption (YouTube, Netflix etc.), basic programming (Basically just Python) & word processing. Good battery life & with a size of 13" or 14" would be preferable. I know there's quite a bit of choice but I'm hoping for any recommendations. Thanks, Angus
