I currently use a Sapphire Nitro+ rx580 8gb. The card is still working great for me but during black Friday game sales I have picked up some newer games on the cheap, such as Hogwarts legacy. At the moment my current driver is the 23.9.2 version, should I update to the 23.11.1 driver or find a different maybe more legacy driver, to get the best performance in these newer games. For the time I will just continue with what I have without knowing if there are better drivers or not. cheers.

I bought this card when it was released and have had issues since day one. In terms of support, AMD has given up on me, and XFX was never helpful. XFX insists I RMA the card again even after doing so last time had fixed nothing. Whenever AMD Adrenaline Edition or the drivers are installed, my system becomes highly unstable. Anything that uses the GPU in any way will eventually cause the drivers to crash, I assume, and my screen will freeze for anywhere from 3-10 seconds, then, my monitors, (and sometimes the lighting on everything else in my system) will turn black for a few seconds. After my monitors turn back on, most programs using the GPU will have crashed or become unresponsive. This appears after a crash: ^Appears after every crash/timeout.^ The crashes become frequent until my PC is restarted or left alone until the next day. I have tried the following to attempt to fix the issue or find the source: Upgrading my power supply to an 850W Ensuring there are 2 separate cables from the PSU in each slot Using only 1 monitor Tested both monitors individually Stock monitor settings With and without freesync RMA-ing the GPU Disabling MPO Disabling Hardware Acceleration on applicable programs Wiping an SSD and installing a fresh Win10 Using stock BIOS settings Using DDU to reinstall drivers Using safe start Using old drivers Tested other hardware RAM CPU Each storage drive All of the above tested physically and virtually Used memtest64 and OCCT Disabling and uninstalling Wallpaper Engine Auto Undervolting/Overclocking GPU Limiting clock speed to 2500 for GPU Enabling/Disabling XMP Upgrading/Downgrading BIOS Updating all drivers for the system Using previous GPU (RTX 2060) Ran completely fine, no problems Below is a video of the crash in action: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YyBstdFoe-LsscMuFOShwCRzWW8F43il/view?usp=sharing Here's a list of everything inside my system at the current moment: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G9BhsL Is there anything else that I somehow have not tried yet that may be a glimmering ray of hope for me?

I have a problem with my setup. I am currently trying to install the drivers for my AMD setup and I just can't get the AMD PSP 11.0 Device installed. I have tried fresh installs of both Windows 10 & 11. I have installed the latest bios for my Asrock PG lightening B650 MB to version 1.24 (latest stable) and I am currently trying to install the latest chipset drivers. If I can't get this solved, the F do I disable this garbage?

Well, hello there! I just updated my RX580s drivers, and realised, how poor AMDs OpenGL Performance was before. Let me explain. I play Minecraft a lot. Like up to 4 hours a day. I normally get around 120 fps without shaders and max settings (Render and Simulation Distance 18) in Minecraft Vanilla. Throwing a light shader in, performance drops to ~60 fps. With a real intense shader I use to render cam sequences, I can't even play the game. ~10 fps are just unplayable. But wait... Driver Update! At first, I couldn't believe what I saw. In Vanilla, same settings, I suddenly got ~1200 fps. THATS 10x MORE! I had to try the intense movie shader. It gave me ~45 fps. Well, now I had to try with a Raytracing Shader. Just think about it for a moment. Raytracing in Minecraft Java Edition on a Graphics Card without RT-Cores, and it ran just fine, ~60 fps (I would normally expect that to be 1-5 fps). Now for my Question: AMD promised a 2x increase in performance. How am I getting 10x more fps and 60 fps with a shader which calculates Raytracing without using RT-Cores, on a RX 580 8GB? Have I just gotten extremely lucky or can somebody confirm this on an AMD card of semilar age? Thanks for your reply, Mistermodcreator

Hey. Been having some issues with the crimson drivers recently. ATM the lastest one is 17.4.3 and I've been experiencing some graphical stutters while watching videos and fullscreen (notice it only happens in fullscreen not normal window) and some screen tearing while browsing. I disabled the hardware acceleration in the browser to fix the stutter although failed to do anything about the tearing. Had to roll back to 17.3.3. Rolling an RX 480 btw. Have you guys experienced this?

Although the graphics card in my laptop is installed, the installation wizard for AMD's display drivers does not detect the graphics card. What should I do?

I've recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad 330 15-ARR laptop which has ryzen 5 2500u and vega 8 mobile gpu in it. Currently my vega 8 gpu is running by AMD crimson 17.7 driver which is not the latest version. Lenovo is not providing any updated driver. But there is updated version driver out which is AMD adrenaline 18.1.1 . So, my question is how to update my driver to latest version of AMD driver? This update is gonna boost my gpu performance about 20%-30%. That is why I want to update to latest driver. Can anyone help me out?

amd drivers Need help with upgrading AMD Radeon Drivers from Crimson to Adrenalin
Guest posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I have the AMD Radeon Crimson Relive Driver right now and I am trying to upgrade to AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition but i'm not sure how, on the driver there isn't an 'update' button or anything and when i go to their website I don't know if I should download Adrenalin when I already have Crimson. My driver is supported (RX 470) but I don't know what to do. -
Hi, The AMD graphics driver folder in my C: drive is currently taking 23 GB, and a brief look inside that folder shows that amd drivers are keeping all of the previous update files without deleting them when there is a new update. Because I have an ssd with a finite amount of space, I would like to reduce the space taken up the AMD drivers without actually re-installing them(mainly because I have spent a long time fine tuning settings). Is this possible? Thanks!

Greetings everyone. My situation is this, i am trying to run simultaneously two very different graphics cards, the Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon R7 260X, not for gaming ofc (not even plugged in on a screen). The problem is that the 5870 is supported up to 16.2 Crimson driver which doesn't support any GCN graphics cards. On the other hand, newer versions doesn't support VLIW-era GPUs. I tried to manually install (through device manager, after I've cleaned everything with DDU) the drivers, different version for each card, didn't worked. The 15.7 version kinda did the trick (both cards were fully recognized by GPU-Z), but, on the 5870 side, wasn't reporting OpenCL support, which is my main demand. So... does anyone has any workaround? Or if any did try that and nothing came to fruition so i can stop trying : P Thanks in advance : ) PS: I don't think that's gonna help but i am using an Intel Skylake platform with Windows 10 Pro. PS2: A Linux solution is not applicable atm.

I have an issue with my brand new Sapphire nitro + rx480 graphic card. Whenever I try to play any game it just hangs after sometime, the only way to recover is to power down my PC. I tried on many different games and it hangs on all games. The driver version installed is 16.9.1 and the motherboard BIOS is updated to the latest drivers. Even tried to uninstall the drivers using DDU and reinstalling again but no help. Can anyone please help me solve this issue? Specs Asus B150M Corssair vs450W i5 6402p

EDIT: The issue has been solved: The issue was solved by going into AMD Global WattMan, and underclocking the GPU by 10%. All applications are now much more stable, but feel free to read about my frustration below. This topic is about my issues with my AMD Driver So.... I bought a Powercolor RX 460 2GB, all was well, it arrived, installed the GPU and the new PSU, installed the driver through Powercolor's website, and pressed play on Overwatch. I was blown away by the amazing performance, then it hit. Frequent, unpredictable, sporadic, varying crashes. These crashes don't just occur in Overwatch, but also in other titles aswell. All settings in the driver are set to not interfere with the application. Specs CPU - Core i3 4130 @ 3.4 GHz GPU - Powercolor RX 460 MOBO - Asus H81M-K PSU - CiT 400w ATX Power Supply RAM - 1x Corsair 1333mHz DDR3 4GB, 1x [Unknown Brand] 1600mHz DDR3 4GB downclocked to 1333. The 3 main types of crash so far Black Screen of DEATH The system will crash, both monitors go black and the PC restarts itself without displaying a Windows restarting screen Unresponsive application The application will freeze, but may sometimes still play sound, but only render as a black screen. Tabbing out varies as sometimes I can, sometimes I can't BSOD Only bluescreened once or twice, the BSOD features the error to do with "atikmdag.sys" All of these events and trials combined have lead me to believe that the issue lies with the AMD driver, version 16.8.2. 3dMark Sky Diver benchmark runs fine, with no crashes. I've tried using the TDR fix in the registries, both at 8 and 10, but still crashes occur. If you have any questions related to this topic, want to help, or are having the same issue, make yourself known! All help is appreciated Kind Regards, -Luithian

The latest AMD drivers slow my performance in some games such as CS:GO, The Division and Fallout 4 though it speeds up performance in other games such as GTA 5 and more. Now I hate having to make the compromises and I recently bought Doom and I noticed that my FPS was around 60-80 decent on Ultra keep in mind I was using very old drivers in order to get better FPS in other games though today I was curious and I installed the latest AMD drivers and I launched DOOM at the same resolution and settings and my fps doubled to around 120+ at the same settings. So because of that and games like GTA 5 that also see and improvement with the latest drivers I thought if there is a way to switch drivers on the fly with out a reboot and installation. One thing that I noticed though is that the older drivers overall worked a lot better than the newer ones for most of my games except Doom and GTA 5 though games like Fallout4 (+120), The Division (+80), CSGO (+200) saw massive FPS improvements, so the positives of the older drivers defiantly way out the negatives of the newer drivers. Though I really hope there is a way to switch through drivers on the fly. If anyone knows of a way or have the same GPU as me (AMD R9 295x2) and have found a perfect driver that works good for all the games mentioned please let me know!!! I appreciate any helps and answer questions.

I have two video cards, Radeon R9 290 & R9 290X. I understand there is no need for these cards to have a bridge with the new tech from AMD for crossfire, and now have a huge problem. When I install catalyst v13.11 from the stock disk, I can see both cards enabled in the Advanced Veiw > Information > Hardware tab in catalyst. But, once I upgrade to any new driver past this, (14.4 or 14.7B) It wont show the Advanced Veiw > Gaming > CrossfireX option at all. Both my GPUs are "working", as I saw both in GPU-Z and in the Driver manager. I have tried DriverSweeper(DDU) and re-installing the drivers but not much seems to work. Any thoughts? P.S. More info about catalyst 14.7B. It shows both GPUs are there in Advanced Veiw > Information > Hardware, but the GPU that is NOT plugged into my monitor is Disabled.
