So I had problems for a while now, where my pc randomly shuts off while loading into a game. Now i finally think im closer then ever to finding the error. In short, ive installed msi afterburner and tracked the temperatures of my Gpu while doing benchmarks, or playing games. It shut off exactly at 79 or 80 C. So i looked into msi ab and the max temp of my gpu was set as 79 C, with a power limit of 100%. So naturally i upped both to the max to see if it was the issue, ran the test again and it shut off again at around 82/83 C. That lead me to believe its an issue with my Psu. Ive tried a different test, where i upped my Gpu fan speed curve. It kept the temp low. It stopped at around 72 C. Then it died again. Which again led me to believe its an issue with my power supply and that it couldnt supply my gpu with enough power. Also if i hooked up another monitor directly into my motherboard. It still worked, even after my gpu crashed. Also when my pc crashes only the video signal is missing, the games in the back, or teamspeak are still running while im sitting infront of a black screen. So wheres the problem than? Ive tested my components in a psu calculator and it said i could even use a 400 W psu, while mine is 550 W and cant support my pc with enough power? My Pc is 6 years old and some components might got a bit dusty, but i tried my best to dust it all of, even ti internals of my gpu. Idk if that could be the power eater. Could this be a different issue, or do i need to change the Psu?

Hello. I'm a total noob when it comes to pc. But after sometime thinking and planing, finally decided to build myself a PC. Parts are coming in a week, but except the Gpu. Was planing a single pc streaming setup but then 1660's are out of stock everywhere(I don't live in USA btw), and getting 3000series atm is no no, So decided to go with a decent budget option for the time bein. Here is my parts: Cpu: ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: Msi mortar max b450m Ram: Crucial Ballistix 16g in dual 3200mhz Storage: some kingston nvme and 2tb 7200rpm hdd Psu: haven't decided yet but gonna get 600w one And some cheap as case. I can live with that And 1080p 144hz display to go with it, thinking about upgrading to 1440p in some time tho not soon. So, here is how this is looking right now, Gtx 970 4gb ... 144 usd R9 390 4gb ... 134 usd R9 290 4gb ... 115 usd Seller is telling me they are all new, but we all know that's total bs. But I'm ok with that, as long as they runs. So, Happy to hear your opinions guys

Hello. I have the exact same problem as this guy I know it is an old topic, but this exact problem has been giving me a hard time for the past 4 days. I tried everything that I know, but nothing seems to be working. Or is my GPU dead?

After cleaning my PC and changing my GPU’s thermal paste. Installed all back together, when i turn on my PC my GPU will run it’s fan speed to full speed , it’s like a rocket going to blast off. After entering my password in the home screen after a couple of seconds the fan speed will go to a full speed and after a while the system crash. My specs: • windows 10 x64 • Z170 Pro gaming • intel i7-6700K • 16GB ram • GTX 970 turbo asus Can some one help me. Very much appreciated.

Are the GTX 960 and 970 any good anymore? They go for $100-200 on eBay now. I found a 960 on eBay for $140. (Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234343426915?hash=item368ff4eb63%3Ag%3AcY0AAOSwAa9hv7Kk&LH_BIN=1) I think they have some value to them, but not a lot.

Hello all. A few months ago I purchased a system used. Everything works well, however the hardware is starting to show it's age (see below). I guess my question is, would I see much difference in upgrading as far as FPS in gaming? With Christmas coming up just trying to figure if I should get some advice. I only game, no editing or rendering. Ultimately I think I'd like a 3070 or something along those lines once things settle out. Just curious if I'd see much difference in going to something like a 5600X or 10600K along with my 970. Currently I only play at 1080p on a 144HZ monitor. Cheers! Hey , i bought ssd 970 evo plus 1 week ago but it keeps disconnecting when i play a game or i start copy paste i file into it , then i tried to install a windows 10 it works normally until i start a game i tried 4 games on it all of them keeps crashing :v so anyone can tell me what to do with it :-: oh btw i have last update for bios my motherboard is z270 gaming 3

This is my brother's PC that I built him with hand-me-down parts. One day Windows just started to bluescreen every time it booted up, and it always gave me a BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO error. Nothing in the install repair seemed to work, so I put Windows on a flash drive and decided to install anew. However, when I tried the UEFI setting, the splash screen seemed to just glitch. If I tried regular booting, it always got stuck on a blinking cursor. I tried clearing the CMOS and flashing a new BIOS to no avail. It's an MSI 970 Gaming with an FX-8320, GTX 960, and 8GB of Patriot Viper RAM.

Currently working on getting a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo into a Macbook pro retina. I am currently using this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Convert-Adapter-Upgrade-MacBook-2013-2017 The drive is detected in Windows and can be formatted properly. However when booting, the volume does not show up in the disk utility and can't be installed to from the internet backup function. The adapter says to update to version 10.13 or later, presumably for firmware compatibility. Is there an explicit compatibility issue with this drive and this macbook? I went on some apple forums and say accounts of people using this hardware combination just fine.

This document is a summary of the issue and troubleshooting I have done. I will also attach system information files, event viewer errors and disk info files. Original error/problem: This is an abridged story but the key details are included. I bought some new Samsung 2TB 970 evo plus NVME SSDs and I installed them to my PC. I was playing Star Wars battlefront 2 2017 from those new drives, and when loading a new character to play the character did not load. I tried to respawn and then none of the characters would load, the game would still run though. I quit the game and tried to load it again, but it would not launch. I was confused why and restarted my PC. The problem went away, and I started to play again, but the same issue occurred. I then got concerned and ran a CHKDSK on the D: drive, which turned out fine. The problem continued and then I proceeded to reinstall windows. After installation of the OS and my games, the error still occurred. I restarted the PC again and left disk management open while I was playing and then when the error happened again. I saw that the disk became uninitialized in disk management and after a restart it was fine again. No data was corrupted, and no data was lost. I downloaded Samsung magician to scan the SSDs for any sector errors and that also turned out fine. I switched the drives around in their M.2 Slots and the same error occurred. I finally gave in and bought a new motherboard (MSI Board). The errors still happened on that motherboard, so I reinstalled windows again. STILL didn’t fix it. So, I called in the powers of RMA and got a replacement MSI motherboard and both Samsung SSDs. Brand new drives and another brand new mother later, I thought Ill just run them all as separate drives, C:, D:, and E:. but when I go to play the game on a new installation, the issue still occurs. I am completely lost, and I’ve tried all my troubleshooting ideas. I don’t know if it’s a CPU/PCIe lanes issue, or a Windows issue, or what. Here’s a list of what I have tried: · New hardware · Reinstall windows (about 5 times total) · Zeroing out the drives · Switching drive slots Next steps? I am starting to think that it is something to do with my amount of PCIe lanes/devices. I have never really understood it and would like to learn more. But any suggestions would be amazing, thank you all in advance. I have some issue with my PC recently so we done a fresh install of windows 10... for some reason the task manager windows etc flicker when i open them and continue to flicker until i close them. I have tried DDU etc but still not helping. I even installed an older update for nvidia without the gforce experience. Windows 10. GTX 970. i7 4970k thank you :)

Hello, So i have a 2060 RTX and a 970 GTX, i know i can't use them as SLI or CF, but can i use them both at the same time? Will it get me more FPS?

HiI just overclocked my GTX 970 Strix from asus. Settings: 1400mhz gpu clock, 1213mV, Memory Clock 8000mhz. The thing is when i was going to stresstest it, the fps locked to about 48 frames in Unigine Heaven Benchmark and some games (GTA 5, CS:GO). I switched back the settings to default but there was no difference. I've done a clean install of new NVIDIA drivers but there's no difference I Used ASUS GPU Tweak II for the overclock!Please help me with this issue!

Hi I have a Corsair H55 cooler and upon dissassembly I noticed a strange shiny grease that I couldn't get off of the MoBo. Is it possible the AiO has leaked? I have a few questions - Is the AiO causing this -Will Corsair Refund me (5 year warranty) -How do I clean it up as I intended to sell it It's only on this tube the other 3 connection points are fine
