Hi there. My pc was working just fine, but I wanted to do some rewirering because it was a mess. But after I finished, and before closing the case, I checked that everything worked, just because. But when I hit the power switch, all I got were 5 beeps. I check on the manual for the meaning of those, but since it is a budget MB the printed docs are pretty much useless and all it says is a bunch of QR codes to go to the website. According to Gigabyte’s support page 5 short beeps stand for CPU error. It says nothing more. I try to check the RAM, clear the CMOS, remove the CPU, leave the bare minimum for the PC to boot but all I’ve got so far is the 5 beeps. I can’t think of something wrong I did or something that could possibly damage the components. Literally all I did was unplug the PSU cables and plug them again. Didn’t even touch the CPU until I disassembled the whole thing. Motherboard: Gigabyte H310m A2.0 CPU i5-9400F GPU GTX970 RAM 8gb DDR4 2400 UDIMM It’s a budget PC and I have no way to test the components elsewhere.

My pc won’t work, it just beeps five times and than shows a screen saying: media test failure, check your cables.

Hello, Few weeks ago I bought x299 with 7800X and DDR4 HyperX Predator 4x4 3200. I assembled PC and before POST I had 5 beeps, which is CPU Failure according to AMI beeps. I decided to return Mobo and CPU. Bought X99 G1 Ultra Gaming and 6850k. This time I do have POST beep then 5 short beeps.. All other components PSU, SSD, HDD, GFX I do use in my current rig right now so these are not faulty. PSU is EVGA 650 Supernova P2 X299 was Gigabyte Gaming 3 I7 7800X DDR4 HyperX Predator 4x4 3200Mhz PSU EVGA Supernova P2 650W GPU 1080 G1 Gaming Case NZXT H2 Silent Classic I had only 5 Short beeps nothing more, nothing less After refound mobo/cpu I bought X99 Gigabyte Ultra Gaming and 6850K I assembled it --> CPU 6850K Mobo Ultra Gaming DDR4 HyperX Predator 4x4 3200Mhz GPU G1 Gaming 1080 PSU EVGA Supernova P2 650W Case NZXT H2 Silent Classic CPU cooler Noctua NH D14 with 2011-3 mounting kit And with that there is a little Difference! This video shows 1 POST beep then 5 Short Beeps. After some tests I noticed that memmory is DDR4_1_1A (one stick) works like 1 POST then 5 Short beeps and same goes with all _X_1X But! without memory and with 1 stick in DDR4_X_2X PC turn ON/OFF all time. BUT not in combo of 2 sticks in DDR4_6_2C and DDR4_5_1C I think with Memory in both DDR4_1_1A and DDR4_2_2A i had 5beeps too. So what I am confused about right now is that with single channel _1X I got 5 beeps, but in single channel _2X PC turn ON/OFF without beeps or anything. * Yes I did put standoffs under motherboard and these are in fixed positions * Yes I did insert 12V CPU power properly 2x4pin * Yes I did insert 24Pin into mobo properly * Yes I did connect CPU_FAN properly but then again without it is the same problem * Yes I did install mountkit to 2011-3 that noctua did send to me and it is touching CPU properly I did try with all of with with GPU, without GPU, with SSD, without SSD, m.2 and so on. * What I did not try is put all memory sticks into _2 Channel and try to start Mobo outside case on cardboard or so to check if there is same resoult outsite PC Case Everything else but Mobo/RAm/M2/CPU I am using right now when I am typing this post so PSU is not faulty, Cooler is not faulty, GPU is not faulty and so on. Currently I am using : i7 4770 Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz some random Gigabyte Mobo I have no idea what else I can report about it to be honest.. Parts: Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 ti PSU: EVGA 600 B1, 80+ BRONZE 600W RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 2133 MHz When I turn it on, all of the fans and LEDs power up without issue. The buzzer however gives me 5 beeps which according to online sources means a CPU issue. In addition however, my graphics card will power on but will not output any video to the monitor. Another problem concerning me is that USB peripherals plugged into the USB ports directly connected to the motherboard experience power flickering; they will turn on and off once a second. Out of all of the USB ports, there are only 3 that will even power the peripherals at all, the rest flicker as previously stated. I believe that this could be a defective motherboard but i’m not sure if it could be the CPU or PSU causing any of the issues. Any ideas? [SOLVED] I narrowed the solution down to a defective motherboard and RMA-ed the board. Upon installing the new board they sent me, the computer started up perfectly fine no issues at all. My PC will turn on and not display anything but the LEDs and fans still turn on. Now I've got a motherboard speaker, when it turns on and nothing is displayed 5 beeps are sounded. From what I know, 5 beeps means CPU error or dead CPU. My PC has done this for a while now but after a few attempts of turning it off and on, it would eventually display something onto the screen (BIOS screen) then boot to windows. Today I finally put a motherboard speaker on my motherboard and booted up. It beeps 5 times meaning CPU error or dead CPU. I know it's not dead as it boots eventually. What can I do to fix this? My CPU is the Athlon II X4 750K on a ASRock FM2A75M-DGS. My CPU is overclocked to 4.1GHz @ 1.45V and has been for around half a year. The issue started way a long time after the failed boots. Is this overclock related or something to do with my CPU cooler/thermal paste. By the way my CPU cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo with the stock fan at 1000RPM. My temperatures are 30C ish at idle and 40-50C under full load. Help would be much appreciated
