I have one of these on my shiny new motherboard but my existing case does not have any such sockets on it. Are there front drive bay adapters around that actually use the Gen 2 front panel connector on the motherboard to give front panel sockets? All the ones I've found so far use the Gen 1 header instead.

I need some help. I have been having an issue with my system. Everything is working just fine and everything is registering, however, when I initially start up I get no post and the cpu-led is lit up and the ram-led flickers. I had the same issue on my previous board and sent it in for a replacement. I have figured out that I can get it to stop doing it if I hit the restart button on the motherboard multiple times quickly. It however has reset the bios. I just flashed to the new f3g bios because I thought maybe it was a bios issue with the previous f2 bios. Once the system is up and running everything is running how it should and temps and speeds are all fine. What could it be and how do I fix this? Do I just get a different brand motherboard or do you think something is wrong with the cpu? Everything runs stable with no overclock on cpu but I did set an xmp profile on the ram however it was doing it before I did that. Any suggestions would help! Thanks! I just built a pc, when booting it up for the first time i plug in windows 1 usb click 64 bit download then it just freezes to aorus logo 53688997877__5F151128-E126-498C-BA46-9C4B4EA1B1AF.MOV

Setup works flawless when 6 RAM modules are inserted (Slots A1,B1,C1,D1,B2,D2 or A1,B1,C1,D1,A2,B2). But when I insert 8 RAM modules i get error "d0". I tried every RAM module in Slot A1 and everyone works. I tried mixing the RAM modules into other slots, but no luck. I reseated the CPU, no luck. I exchanged the Mainboard, no luck. I cleared CMOS, no luck. I set DRAM Voltage to 1.35V, no luck. I tried lower DRAM frequency, no luck. I used alternatively the DOCP Profile for the RAM, no luck. x399 Designare has a usb 3.1 gen 2 header built into the board. My case has 4 usb3 ports from 2 usb3 cables (2 each cable). The designare has 1 standard usb3 header which is activating 2 of the usb3 ports on the case. To activate the other 2 USB3 ports, I bought this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078BQVM2X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But, alas, it does not work. I swapped the cables and verified the ports on the case work, and the conventional usb3 header on the board works, but either the 3.1 header is broke or not activated, or the cable I bought is bad. Anyone using their USB 3.1 Gen2 port? Did you need to update any drivers? I went to Gigabytes site and updated everything, but no go on the header. Thanks!

boys just use 2 ram real dual channel (2 in a box) in ryzen and never never use 1 single ram in threadripper use real quadchannel (4ram in 1 box) never never use 4* dual ram on it (inside diffrent channel ram , pcb , hardware not same , 2*single not dual channel or 4*dual not quad) all amd (except threadripper) nead dual channel like fx8350 , phenom,athlon,ryzen if you use dualchannel ram in threadripper(or single in ryzen) system cant start or will give tiny freeze example for ryzen =gskill RGB tridentz 3200 2*8 example for threadripper=gskill ripjaws4 2800 4*4

So Im planning on building a ThreadRipper build soon: TR 1920x Aorus X399 Gaming 7 GTX 1080 AORUS Rev 2.0/Vega 64 (if it ever becomes available for a lower price in the near future.) 4x4GB Dominator Platinum 3000mhz 3x 7200rpm HDD's 3x SSD's My main Work on this will be Game Development, Gaming, Video Editing and some 3D rendering. Questions: 1: Can I temporarily use this build on a Corsair VS650 as this PSU has only one 8pin cpu connector? 2: How Does Ryzen perform on Unreal Engine 4? 3: How Does Ryzen/Vega vs Ryzen/1080 perform on Blender? 4: How Does Ryzen perform on Substance Painter/Designer? 5: How Does Ryzen perform on Visual Studio 15? 6: Are 2x8 pin CPU connecters absolutely required? Also Suggest a good compact ATX case for my build. PS. Id prefer if you have first hand experience of Ryzen/TR/Vega.

So I posted this on FB and still noone could give a def answer. Just wondering if anyone was able to get a NVMe raid working on the MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC. I'm trying to make a bootable raid with 2x Samsung 960 Pro drives. For some reason it still won't work. I followed the tutorial that MSi put on YouTube but the Bios (latest) wont allow me to make an array even after downloading and installing the new Threadripper RAID support. Any ideas? I've put together a new PC for 3d modelling, rendering and illustration Its a threadripper 1950 with x399Taichi, and a 1080Ti. I also wanted to add a 780SC i have around so that CUDA based rendering will be almost twice as fast! The cards work fine on their own on different systems, but as soon as i put them together in the threadripper, the 780 displays the yellow triangle in the device manager and gives Code 43 If i decide to uninstall the card and reboot nothing changes. He eventually finds the drivers installs them (they are the same for the 1080 anyway) and nothing changes. If i decide to screen output through the 780, as soon as the nvidia drivers are installed the screen goes black. Its so bad that if windows is loading, it freezes! i have started doubting that it is a freeze, and just a screenfreeze or the gpu failing somehow. Also had to do a couple of rollbacks to repair damage... basically the 780 is detected but its a zombie dummy sitting by. Has anyone encountered this?

So the time had finally arrived and I got the last part for the 1950X build. Put the Designare on the test bench, installed the CPU, Ram, cooler, drive and GPU. Figured out which power cable fits the 4pin CPU connector and it fired up perfect on the first try! Installed windows, updated Bios to the most current version. Everything is looking good. Except for code AA. It was there in the first BIOS and still there after the update. In the manual it says reserved. I don't see any issues with the performance anywhere. I left it on all night burning in while doing some folding@home on the Chrome client and it peaked at 60C with all cores at 100% all night on stock clocks. USB works, PCI slots work, at least one of the m.2 slots work. So far so good. Except for that dang AA. Anyone have any ideas what this code means?

It would be extremely misfortunate if I get a faulty MOBO on my first build, and since it's my first I wouldn't even know what went wrong...So my I connected everything as expected, but when I power on my PSU and press on the power on button for the motherboard, nothing happens. My fan doesn't spin and all there is is the RGB lighting on the motherboard. I tried removing the 24 pin ATX power cable from the PSU to the mobo, and as expected the RGB light died. So this means power probably came to the MOBO, but it is not causing the mobo to work. i.e. is my PSU fine but not my mobo? Should I expect my fans to spin if i power on the motherboard (and not at the instance when i power on my psu?)? So none of my fans, even the case and the cpu fans are spinning. I really hope (and find it hard to believe) that statistically this kind of bs can happen esp. when I thought Asus was quite reliable. Could someone please help out? Extra information: 1. There is a constant, non-blinking orange/amber light called "SB_PWR". 2. My Q_Code LED light doesn't appear at all, so I can't diagnose the problem. 3. I connected my monitor via HDMI not VGA. 4. My zotac gpu manual and the psu doesn't say anything related to connected the PSU directly to the GPU, so I connected 1 PCI 8 pin cable from the PSU to the GPU, and did a (6+2) + 6 connection, with the remaining 2 pins left hanging outside. 5. Note that my zotac GPU is not lighting up, although I'm not sure if it should since I got a blower edition instead and am not very familiar with GPU lighting. Things I have tried: 1. Manually jumping the PWR_BTN and Ground (the 2 pins that fall under PWR_SW), to manually boot the PC. Pressing on the main power button on the case and the mobo power button doesn't work. 2. Hey guys, I find myself in a situation here, I want to change my CPU for a one with more cores and I have been watching videos of the Threadripper line from AMD and they seem to be a good value product with good quality, so I'm looking for a 1950x, the issue here is that all of the x399 motherboards have a lot of mixed reviews, where the good ones are okay but the bad ones are because of big issues, however, x299 motherboards, as expected, I guess, doesn't seem to be struggling with that problem because all of them have mostly excellent reviews. The thing is the most I can spend is for an i9 7900x. So which route should I go? I use my computer for 3D rendering, modeling, and gaming. But it`s mostly for work.

I would like to achieve 4.25Ghz at least. Curently I am at 4.2Ghz at 1.38V (Tdie 44C), aida64 extreme is no problem but after a couple cinebench runs it black screens. I dont have any other volatges set. Can someone help with what else i should configure? Thanks
