Hi all, I wanted to get your feed back on this question. As PC a Builder/Gamer, what are the most common features you look for when purchasing a PC case?
-
Hello, I am looking at a new PC build and well the first PC I built myself I never actually looked at the components themselves I just listened to a family member and ordered. Though my PC isn't really that old, I do want to upgrade as it is starting to slow down I'm not sure if it's because of the Hard Drive or what honestly, I've always thought I've had a faulty mother=board or RAM either way I'll ask my question. So I'm looking into buying the Thermaltake CA-1K9-00F1WN-01 20 GT RGB edition of course, and I was wondering if it will fit these components within the case? I know that's a lot of storage space but I like my games so I kind of need it, other than that I'd like to add a capture card and maybe a sound card later on along with more drives of course. But I was just wondering if I would be able to do all of that with this case since I'm not sure on where to go when it comes to the case since I like my full towers but don't exactly know since this is my first real build compared to my last. Any comments on this would help, for example if I need to change my PSU, but I'll want a second card in the future so who knows? Other than that I am open to only change the Water cooler if I have to. Anyhow thanks for reading my first post here, I had/have no idea where to turn to so hopefully this helps, thanks in advance. ~Blood

Hi, I'm looking for a pc case with great airflow. Requirements: Space for atleast 2 HDD, and 1 SSD. Graphics length atleast 330mm. Will eventually upgrade to a card close to the 320 - 330mm length. So just making sure it will fit. Great airflow. Supports ATX mobo. I would prefer a midi tower, but it can be a full tower aswell. Preferebly a case below $160 Right now my case is a CM Elite 430. My specs: Graphics card: MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G. CPU: i7 6700k. CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo. RAM: 2x 8gb. MOBO: MSI Z270 Gaming M5. PSU: CM B700. Case: CM Elite 430. If you need more specific details, please tell :-)

Hi everyone! =) So, I happen to have pretty bad coil whine on my KFA2 1070Ti and I was denied RMA. The sound really annoys me but I don't have the money to go and buy a new card. So I thought of maybe switching case to one with sound dampening materials to hopefully reduce the high pitch noise. Right now I have a Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 RGB which is pretty shitty to be honest, bad airflow and the stock fans were very loud (I swapped them out). When I was looking on the internet for sound dampening cases I really fell for the NZXT H440 New Edition because I really like its design. Then I saw that there were two version, one with a glass panel and one with just the sound dampening materials. I do have 4 RGB fans running in my system so it would be cool with a window side panel but I prioritize silence over aesthetics. But if there only is a small difference in noise level, I may consider the version with a window. What do you think about this idea and is it worth a try? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Hi, everyone. This is my first time posting here asking about PC case. Before I start asking my question my configurations are as below : CPU : Ryzen 1700X @ 4.0GHz MOBO : ASUS Crosshair Hero VI (WI-FI AC) RAM : Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB @ 3000MHz CPU cooler : Cryorig A40 Ultimate 240mm AIO (mounted on top) GPU : Palit Gamecock Premium GTX 1080TI Case : Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX (non TG version) Case fan configuration : 3 front Cooler Master MasterFan Pro 120 Air Pressure as intake , 1 rear MasterFan Pro 120 Air Flow as exhaust My configuration causes heat, noise and air flow problems. The Enthoo Evolv is notorious for its bad air flow introduced heat problem (CPU temps idle at 40℃) to my PC.Then the Cooler Master and Cryorig fans are so noisy (even people like me who doesn't even care much about noise feel irritating whilst gaming) . To solve this I might be replacing all my fans including my AIO's fans with the EK Vardar 120mm fans. So now my question is whether I should switch to the Thermaltake View 71 ( I heard it has decent air flow)? But if I switched I will have to make my own PSU shroud as I do use a GPU sag holder and I'm a little concern about dust problem as I heard there's a small gap between both of the tempered glass side panels and the chassis. But then again if I continue using my current case I definitely need to mod it (eg: cutting holes on top and front panels). I need some opinions from you guys especially current enthoo evolv and view 71 users about the fans and case problems.Any kind of opinion is very much appreciated.

So,whats the purpose of this gap on top of the Nox Hummer MC case?I dont feel air coming out of it...Cant i cover it with duct tape so dust doesnt go inside there?

I'm wondering whether to get the Cooler Master MasterBox 5 or the Corsair Carbide SPEC-04. I like the modularity of the Cooler Master but I also like the look of the Corsair. I'm undecided. What do yous think?

I have my PC build in a Riotoro CR1080 which is supposedly the world's smallest ATX case. It supposedly has space for a 120mm AIO, even though the front intake is 240mm. I have also seen pictures online of coolers like the Corsair H100i inside the case, but I wasn't sure if that was using a smaller motherboard, as that would allow for the power cables to pass through with enough space. I was wondering if anyone knows any 240mm AIO coolers that will fit the case with room for cables? P.S. I am using an i5 3570k, which is LGA 1155. Thanks, Enfentonk

So I just watched the video with the tiny $13 case just as I was thinking about trying to build my own custom case. My plans have changed, and based on my own personal measurements I need about 6 of these cases. I am going to use these cases to make a block monstrosity. I can't seem to find it on amazon so does anyone know where to get these? Yes you can call me an idiot if I'm missing something obvious.

SO I am thinking pretty seriously about building my first PC. Though I am new to technology, I am an experienced fabricator (woodworking, metalworking, composites, etc) and due to my design background I find myself extremely dissatisfied with the PC cases available within my budget. That is, I have not found a case for under $120 that isn't butt-ugly IMO. For this reason, and due to my skill set, I am very tempted to build my own case to satisfy my DIY desires. Is there some sort of "PC case design magic" that I should keep in mind while I am in the design phase? Do you guys have any ideas that you always wanted in a PC case but did not know how to see it through? I have access to these fabrication abilities; Woodworking (I can woodwork like a beast I promise) Metal Fabrication: Sheet and tube benders, brakes, shears, MIG and TIG welding, Blacksmithing, vertical milling machines, variety of cutting and drilling capabilities Composites; casting resins, epoxies, fiberglass, carbon fiber, plastics Other; CNC laser cutters, FFF and SLA 3D Printing

Hi everyone, I was browsing the web to refresh my knowledge about current pc parts (did not really follow the releases since I built my own pc, 4 years ago) and I was looking at cases designs. My lil' brother will soon be asking me to build him a proper gaming pc and since he always used MacBooks and iPhones for school I was looking out for some sleek looking white/wood cases or something along this theme. After some quick Googling nearly all I found was DIY projects... Do you guys know about brands/case models that use wood?

I am looking for a nice black pc case that supports E-ATX. A psu shroud would be nice and also alot of hard drive space. Something decently simple like the simple that fractal design does. Thank Ya

Hey everyone! So I'm new to the LTT forums as well as new to building my own custom PC (although I have theorised about it for a number of years so I'm not completely in the dark). I challenged myself (with the help of PCPartPicker) to build a list of components I would like for my custom setup, and at first I started with a Corsair 200R case because when I started to look at making my own PC I first looked at cases and would work from there. But after piecing together a list of what I would use for my build I felt that the 200R was just... bleh, boxy and dull and I felt it didn't really appeal to me anymore. After doing a bit more digging around again I stumbled upon a Corsair Obsidian 450D but I'm not too happy with that either. Long story short, I would like some advice (and help) to find a case, since i've never really looked before wanting to make my own PC and so by asking I hoped that the forums would have some recommendations of cases that fit my 'criteria'. I'm looking for a case that matches this: At least one slot on the front for a 5.25" Drive (I still need to use optical disc's) 4 (or more) slots for HDD's and at least one slot for SSD. Window on the side where the motherboard will be featured (but doesn't have to be glass or fully covering the side) Additional space for all in one cooling (just in case) Also if i'm able to stick more fans I'd be very happy. This is sort of why it's hard for me to pick a case because it has to have these things ticked but I have yet to find one I like so again, any help would really be appreciated :D! Ty! x

Hello guys this is my first time posting here so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong :P. As I said in the title I'm looking for a new PC case, CPU cooler and a gaming monitor 1. Budget & Location Location: Slovenia ( I can check some local stores or buy from amazon.de) budget: PC case~100€ CPU cooler ~100€ Monitor~600€ 2. Aim I'm mostly gonna use my PC for gaming and UNI work (running simulations and stuff like that ) 3. Monitors Currently I'm looking to buy 1 monitor preferably 2560x1440p, 144/164 Hz, 27inch, g-sync Never considered running more than 1 monitor ( are there any significant advantages for running more monitors?). 4. Peripherals I have a basic mouse and keyboard and some cheap speakers so I'm fine 5. Why are you upgrading? My old GPU died :C and when I was looking for a replacement I really got interested in PC build. My current components that I'll be reusing from my old PC are: CPU: i7-4790k Motherboard :Asus z97-p RAM: 2x4 DDR3 1866hz PSU :Cooler Master G650M PSU I also already bought the GPU:msi gtx 1080 ti gaming x trio (I can also upgrade some if the stuff if you guys think it would help as I will give the stuff I replace to my little brother) So now I would like to get a new Case which has a very good airflow ( Noise doesn't really matter as my baby brother will out-volume anything). For the CPU cooler I was looking at the Noctua NH D15 which is a "pretty" big cooler therefore I was kinda having trouble finding a case which the it and my gpu (lenght 325mm) would fit in. I found the Fractal desing S which would fit both and give me the chance to fit additional 3 140 mm fans at the front. So would you guys think that the noctua cooler and the fractal desing S would be a good fit for my components? Also I would really appreciate it if you could give some recommendations for some gaming monitors. Thanks

As the title says, I am looking for a/best pc case that will support a 3x140mm x 60mm radiator. The cheeper the better. And the size dosnt matter but full tower is preferable. Ive looked around and havnt had much luck finding cases that say they support it.

Which one of these cases should I get, and which one has the most benefits? I like the designs, colors, layout, and management of all of them but it's a tough choice for me. https://amzn.to/2rndYAF https://amzn.to/2jx0Ft1 https://amzn.to/2IdG8aZ https://amzn.to/2HWMrw6

Primarily I do not listen to music or watch video through external speakers on my desktop. I use headphones. But every so often I need to play audio out, to show someone a video or whatever. I've been thinking it would be handy to have a single speaker mounted inside the case, maybe in a spare fan mount. How could I wire this up without running cables outside of the case? Could it be set up to be the default audio device, like if there's nothing plugged in to the front I/O or the mobo I/O it will play audio? I'm fairly handy, I just don't know much about this side of pc hardware, and I haven't found anything like what I'm thinking of.
