Hello everyone, i'm actually looking for a case for my mATX new mobo and i can't find a very small case like the COUGAR QBX in mATX. Moreover, if this case could have a side panel with a window I would be very happy, I plane to install an AIO. And this case must be distributed in Europe Sorry if my english is not perfect ^^

Hi, I currently own a gaming PC with a micro atx motherboard but will be going to university or college soon so am looking for a good sff case. I currently have a phanteks p400 case and was looking at the core v1 and core v21. I would have to buy another motherboard for the v1 but I could probably get some money for my old motherboard. It would probably cost about £20 for a new mini-itx motherboard if you take away the money I could get for my current one. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with one or both of these cases and could make a recommendation? I have an air cooler by the way (cryorig m9i) so there is no need for radiator support. Thanks, Dan

Black Friday is here! And it's time I get a new case... For the longest time I've been using a Fractal Design Define Mini, and I love it. However, it is time to change. I am building a new desk and purchasing a 29" ultrawide monitor and now I need to slim down my computer. My goal is to have my computer sit on top of my desk horizontally with my monitor sitting on top of that. Something like this crude MS paint sketch I just made. If it's not obvious to you, the desk is the brown box, the computer is the dark grey box and the monitor is the blue box (including the light grey box, that's the stand). Also this is absolutely not to scale. So, I come to you all for help in finding a case because there's a few details that make the search a little bit difficult. Requirements 1) $120 limit. Just went Christmas shopping for the family so I'm kinda broke 2) Needs to fit an ATX power supply, don't want to buy another when this one works 3) Needs to fit a microATX motherboard, again I don't want to buy another when this one works Preferences 1) I really really would prefer if this thing looked nice and streamlined considering it's going to be in front of my face every day 2) No optical drive slot, don't need it and to me it hurts the streamlined concept 3) 4 usb ports, current case has 3 and I've made it work but more would be better 4) Shorter vertical height, I don't want this thing too tall, but it has to be tall enough to fit a 1080, specifically the Gigabyte G1 Gaming model I was looking at the Antec VSK2000-U3 just to give you a rough visual representation. Picture courtesy of Newegg. This is pretty close to what I want except for the optical drive. This is the same case but looking at the back. I'm pretty sure that's not a standard ATX power supply mounting hole but I don't know for sure, don't have too much experience with power supply sizes. Again, picture courtesy of Newegg. I'd honestly probably just use this case but I was hoping to find something a little nicer. EDIT: Just checked the Q&A section on the Newegg product page for this case, it is not a standard ATX power supply size and it will not support a card as tall as a 1080 unfortunately, so I can't use this case. I'm hoping more experienced people on here could point me in the right direction. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Just asking which would be better. Does the 88R have good cable management? I like the design of the m2, but the 88r is cheaper. I could go either way, but are there any pros that the other case doesn't have, or cons of either case?

I am looking for a micro atx or mini itx mobo under 60 dollars that uses an lga 1151 socket and has support for ddr4 ram. I also am hoping for a minimum of 2 fan headers. Its a tall order but I really need help.

Hey guys. I just had my 1080 skylake build stolen, so I'm looking to build a new, a bit more buget, system. It needs to be able to run Civ VI, The Witcher 3, GTA V, Rocket League, etc. at pleasing detail level. Preferably a smaller system, Mini ITX/Micro ATX. I have all the peripherals. Do any of you have some ideas and/or tips? If I missed anything, please just ask.

I decided to build a PC this year, but it's not easy to make money when you can't legally get a job until like 16 years old. So I was wondering ways I could save money in the build. I've seen a lot of people build a PC, and then just leave the side panel off, to put the components on display. Would this be a good idea? I have my mind set on a windowed case, but if I can just take the side panel off, that would be cool too. So is it a good idea, or could it be harmful to the components?

ASRock B250M Pro4 vs Gigabyte GA-B250M-D3H: Which should I choose?
Guest posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello everyone, I'm building a computer right now, and I'm looking at the two motherboards mentioned in the title right now, leaning towards the Gigabyte board. I'm leaning towards the Gigabyte board because it has 3 case fan headers, which seems to be pretty rare for the mATX B250 boards, which would be nice because my case comes with 3 fans and I'd like to have positive airflow in the case. Additionally, it has the backup BIOS feature, and a decent amount of ports for expansion in the future, amongst other nice features. The cheapest you can get it for right now is $79.99, compared to getting the ASRock motherboard for $74.99, which leads me into my next topic. The ASRock board only has 2 case fan headers (and I know you can get fan head splitters, but that would cost more than an additional $5.00 for the Gigabyte board). It also doesn't have a back-up BIOS, or even a flashback function from what I've seen, and has less ports overall if I recall correctly. It does have two M.2 slots, but I don't plan on utilizing those any time soon, but a feature I did like was the armored I/O ports. So what would you go for in this case? I've read over all the specs and features of both, but I've only listed the things that are really affecting my decision. I've also heard the quality of ASRock is a little worse than Gigabyte, but that was from something in 2015, so I don't know if things have changed. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks!- 4 replies

Putting together a compact air cooled build and need suggestions. Air cooled because I REALLY don't want to deal with liquid maintenance and it's small because I need the space and it might be going places with me every now and then. I want great performance out of this but I don't think i'll get to overclock with how i'm expecting this build to be. If there are any other ways you guys see that I can improve this build or make it cheaper without sacrificing performance, i'd appreciate it. Here's the link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vmVQr7 Thanks guys!

Most MATX cases just seem like Mid-Tower builds with the top 25% chopped off, which won't save much deskspace. Or they're almost as wide as a 90's printer Right now I'm leaning toward the Carbide 240 Air because of the sexiness, even though it is not the smallest MATX.. Any good MATX cases that are almost small enough to be ITX.

Seems like everyone can agree that at this time, Asus has the best Micro ATX AM4 boards (for B350 at least). That's fair. Yeah...right, good. Except that they have basically two options: the Prime and the Tuf. The Prime (both versions) looks fine. Except that I'm going to have MANY case fans in my rig, and the Asus Prime has ONE case fan header. Can you blame me for being unsure if I should attempt plugging 5-7 case fans into one header..? And sure, there are hubs, but if I want PWM control, even if that's the same control for all of the fans identically, I'd still have to use that one header. Let me know if you've done that successfully, but for now I really won't touch that. The Tuf on the other hand has two headers, which I feel better about using splitters on each to separate the load. So that's kind of a win. My issues with the Tuf are as follows: there are no reviews for it on Amazon US which is where I'm buying my parts. That makes me pretty uncomfortable. Also, the yellow detailing....it's...not exactly what I'm looking for. I actually like it, it just doesn't go with my build. My point is this: Where's the selection??? If everyone says MSI B350's suck and that I should get Asus B350's, but both Asus options feel like I'm settling for less, and when what I REALLY want is a proper X370 in a freaking Micro ATX form factor, then what the heck is the answer..? I can't not get a Micro ATX build. I don't have the space for a colossus. I'm also a fan of medium towers in the cube shape. I need many case fans because not only do I want RGB to show off my build, but I want a very strong positive air pressure to keep out most of the HUGE amounts of dust I have in my closet of an apartment. I thought that mid tower Micro ATX builds were on the rise in a really big way in terms of popularity and all. Does anyone find it a bit odd that there's no diversity in mATX boards for the AM4 platform..? I know it's new, but it isn't THAT new. No enthusiast boards for AM4 Micro build?? Furthermore, does anyone have experience with any other B350 mATX boards..? Gigabyte maybe? Reviews are EVERYWHERE, and the only consensus seems that Asus is good, MSI is bad. But again, the Asus option includes two boards. Maybe someone can share their experience with Tuf..? Maybe I can drown out the yellow lol I really want to hear what people have to say about this. Maybe I'm completely misguided on all of this. Thanks for stopping by though!

Hello again, nice people on this forum! I'm here to make more questions everyone finds hard to answer I'll keep it short: I'm looking for a case with the following characteristics: black, brushed aluminum like finish, windowed, micro atx, ample filtered front intake and direct airflow path towards the back (I kind of like the define mini C, but I also think it looks kind of cheap). Also: do you know any forums with nice computer design pictures? I'm looking to get inspired Hope you can help me and thanks in advance for your attention

Hello everyone, This is not an urgent question or query, more a curiosity to know which cases everyone "rates" in the Micro ATX (mATX) category from the last year or so. I'm an avid water-cooler and am planning several projects in the near future, but any suggestion regardless of water-cooling ability are welcome. I also appreciate the "value" options, below £100 / $130 / €155 suggestions would be great, but again, all suggestions are welcome. Let me know what you think, and thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Does anyone know of a matx case that supports a 280mm radiator at the top (30mm thick + fans). While at the same time a 240 mm rad at the front (also 30mm thick + fans). I would go for a full tower but my new matx z270 board would look a bit weird. I've found some. however all the cases i've found arent the traditional tower style. They're more cube shaped. I would like to know is there are any like the traditional tower style. Acrylic or tempered glass windows would be a nice bonus, but not a must have. Thanks for your time. : )

Hi all, I am looking to build a small form factor machine which will house a micro-atx board, along with my secondary Ryzen 1700 chip, and this will be placed in a little gap downstairs just by our main TV and router as a family gaming machine. I am looking for a case which is roughly 16cm wide, or 160mm - what is out there that will fit?!

This is the USB 3.0 version. Pros: $60-70 Price It works. No major performance or functionality issues at all. BIOS is easy to navigate and updating it via USB Flash is easy. After the update, you can control the motherboard with software. It overclocks fairly well (RAM up to 3000 MHz) with reasonable temperatures. Magnetized holes make mounting screws to it simple. Variety of ports: Ethernet, KB/M, and several USB 2 and 3 ports. Good build quality, for the most part. Cons: Only supports 2 case fans (you will need fan splitters for more) Only supports fan controlling for one chassis fan input No integrated wifi or bluetooth (factor that into the cost) Generic vanilla IO Shield (I don't even use it) Prior to update, literally any adjustment to the OC settings makes the system crash. Video card obscures a lot of necessary pins, making upgrades difficult. Overall, I think this is a good motherboard for people who are on a budget or want to spend their money on other parts. It's a fine board for performance builds. Of course, it only supports 2 RAM sticks, 4 SATA cables and 1 video card, but that's expected for Micro ATX and more than enough for many performance users. The software experience is good (once its updated at least). Is it worth the $60? Yes. None of the cons are significant enough to make me regret this purchase, though perhaps I would've paid a bit more for a board with more controllable fan inputs, wifi/bluetooth integrated and a better IO Shield. Rating: 7/10

Hi, do you guys recommend Cryorig C7 for Micro ATX system? Or there's something better? I need to replace Intel stock cooler for 4790 since it hits 60°C when idling, and 90°C when under load, while GPU and others still sit below 40°C idling, and 75°C under load, even after multiple case cleaning and thermal paste replacing in the last 3 months. I need something below $50 that didn't block first expansion slot. Thanks!

I'm looking for a new case for my micro atx with inversed/switchable glass panel as my computer and monitor are on the left corner of a desk. Does anyone know of decent cases like that?

Hello everyone, I've been thinking about upgrading my computer pretty soon. This is roughly my current system, though the case is different. I've been using it for about a year and while I'm happy with it for my engineering classes and light video gaming, I want to upgrade it! I'm between 2 different upgrade options: CPU or GPU. For the CPU, I would get a Ryzen 5 1600. For the GPU, I would get an RX 560 (used or otherwise). I wouldn't mind getting something different for either of those, but I don't need anything better than 1080p for gaming (I have a 16x10 I game on, so I guess it's technically 1920x1200) and I edit video footage for occasional YouTube videos. Thoughts? Opinions? Questions about why I have such weird storage devices? Should I just get both? (If it changes things, I'm graduating in May and hopefully will have a job right away.) I'm trying to make a smaller sized PC to go into my living room but I'm a bit stuck on which mobo to get, was wondering if I could get some insight. Not sure if I'm going ATX or itx but so far it's between the MSI - B450M MORTAR and gaming plus. I'm putting a ryzen 7 2600x in it and am looking for what the best solution would be for overclocking. Any insight would be much appreciated.

So here's the deal. I'm moving off to college and my room will be quite cramped, especially the desk, so I would like to move my build from the Atx Corsair Carbide spec Omega to a masterbox q300l micro atx Case. In my current build I have an atx mobo : MSI Z370 GAMING M5. In that I have an I3 8350k and a 1070 ti on a 1440p monitor. In my closet form another build I have a ryzen 2200g(which I would want to replace) on a $60 gigabyte micro atx board. I see a ryzen 2600 on craigslist in y area for $100. I am just wondering what everyone thinks? Should I buy the 2600 and go the ryzen 2600 route with similar performance, or buy a micro atx intel mobo?
