Whats the best setup for this case? It comes with 2 fans blowing air out of the case. This seems good for dust resistance but bad for temps. I also ordered a coolermaster hyper tx3. Will the fan on that cooler affect any of the air flow. With it being such a small case I'm not quite sure what the best setup is. I'd appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks for the tolerance to my lack of knowledge!

Hello everyone! I have been lingering on these forums looking for answers but I cannot seem to find one to my issue. My current build: Case: Corsair Air 540 MOBO: Asus Sabertooth z77 CPU: Intel i7 2600k GPU: Nvidia GTX 560ti 448 classified (needs desperate upgrade!) So my question is: I can fit 2 radiators since I will be doing a major pc overhaul (new DDR4 Ram soonish, new GPU that I would like liquid cooled (possibly an 880 if it comes out in September like all the rumors say), CPU (of course might get an upgrade once I get new DDR4) and of course a new MOBO to match the pins for DDR4. My issue is that I can either fit the following configurations: 2 x 280x60mm radiators (one on front and one on top) OR 1 x 360x30mm on the front AND 1 x 240x30mm on top. The top would benefit a 280 but I can only fit it if the front has one too (and make them thick cuz why not!?) but I wanted to know what config I should go for. I know I did not specify FPI at all but maybe you guys could help there too! I do want a slightly quiet build which is why I am contemplating the XSPC RX360 for the front and the RX240 on top but the alphacool 280 for front and top are also quite nice looking and seem like very good choices too. My current choices are (feel free to criticize too!): WaterBlock: Koolance CPU-380I Fans: Noctua Industrial PPC NF-F12 2000RPM Tubing: primochill primoflex advanced LRT (Not sure what color yet!) Pump: MCP 655 type-variant (Swiftech most likely) Since I just gradumatated from Koledge, I figured I would go all out on this so my budget for this is around 800 (which is why I picked the really awesome but pricey noctua fans). Thanks and I hope to hear from this awesome community soon! EDIT: I forgot to mention that I was looking at the EK 260PE too but those may need more RPM fans but I am not sure if the noctuas are good enough for that increased density. Thanks.

Hello Everyone! I was looking for a cooler for my i5 2500K I recently purchased and I came across the THERMALRIGHT AXP-200 Muscle. Just want to get your opinions on it. Is it worth it for the price or is there something better ? All opinions/suggestions welcome! Thanks!

I made this drawing with my mad 5D painting skills, and i wondered what you thought about the fan layout. BTW, im turning it upside down because cool air pushes up hot air

I really badly wana get the NZXT H440 for a computer build in the future... y'know, once I get money cuz am broke! lol Anyways, my cpu will be an overclockable i5 or i7 Haswell or Haswell refresh. I may or may not overclock seeing as how this is my first ever build. It will be watercooled by a Corsair H80i, mostly to solve any problems with lack of airflow - better cooling for my cpu. Note: I may not watercool straight away, and use the stock fan, to see if I can keep my cpu at a reasonable temp with air cooling. I have not decided on my gpu yet, though it will be (likely) a gtx 770 4gb or a gtx 760 4gb ROG Striker Platinium. I will use it for gaming intensive (like Minecraft) and non intensive (like Battlefield 4) so I need decent air flow - water cooling is a no no since that will void my warranty (once warranty expires I will probably use something like the NZXT G10 Kraken adapter to watercool it though that's years down the line). Back on track, I want my gpu to stay at reasonable temperatures without overheating. Tips like what type of fans to use would be great!! So.. Is there some way to keep my case optimised for decent air flow - easy ways only. I have considered poking holes in the front case but that would give me nightmares if I ruin the sexy finish So is anyone has any techniques they have used or know of, I would love to hear them! ... or read them

Hey So I am going to be upgrading my stock Intel CPU cooler to a Hyper 212 Evo. I want to get the most out of it so I'm not sure whether I should just keep it as it is or buy two after-market fans to attach to the heat-sink. I'm pretty sure having a push/pull configuration would be the best. Can anyone tell me the best things to do so I can optimise my cooler. Fan recommendations would be appreciated if you think it will improve the cooling. Thanks!

I have a Thermaltake V3 Black Edition computer case ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133094 ) . I've been playing around with some simply el-cheapo stock-type fans to control the temperatures. I've noticed the best I can get with my fan set up is pushing 120 degrees under low to moderate stress (a step or two above idle). I'm not an over-clocker. For the most part all of my hardware are set to stock settings. I've gotten rid of ALL dust, arranged all wiring for optimize air flow as best I could, even swapped to an SSD. Still using the stock heat sink for my CPU. I can't get the temperature down without basically making my PC sound like a 747 taking off, and even then it's still over 110 degrees F. I'm hoping for some ideas from you guys. I've read and researched water-cooling, I personally think it's overkill for my needs. I'm up for buying new fans, obviously replacing the heat sink, and messing around with any other ideas that may come to mind. Here's the part I'm sure everyone's waiting for. I'd like to keep this budget under $100 as much as possible. Notes: The PC is in a ventilated area 1ft of open space on all sides; it's even elevated 3inches so air can flow through the bottom. Following the basic air flow rules of cool air in the front bottom and warm out goes out the top rear. Mobo is a ASRock hm61-vs Considering getting a NH-L9i heat sink ($40) leaving $60 for fans and other necessities, unless another lower cost and possibly better heat sink is known. Will consider buying some parts used. Currently I have the case opened and have a box fan blasting air on it, it's roughly just under 100 degrees F

Hi there, I've recently built a mini-itx with the Hadron Air, and i wanted some help with the case airflow. The stock fans (2x 120mm) come set to exhaust, and I have some money to get the remaining parts: -Noctua NH-U9B SE2 (I'm running the coolerbox from intel) -Reference EVGA GeForce GTX 780 What fans do i purchase and how do i set it? Thanks in advance

Hey guys! This is my first post on the linustechtips forum. Anyways, I have a question about my upcoming build. I'm going to use the Corsair Carbide Air 540 for my build. What is the best fan setup for the case? I'm planning to use the included two AF140 white led fans for front intake, two AF 140 white led fans for top exhaust, and the included fan for rear exhaust. Or, is it better if I use three AF 120 white led fans for the front intake? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep updating about the build. Cheers, jamesalx30

So in my arc midi r2, I have two, fractal 140mm intake fans (front) , 3 fractal 140 exhaust fans (top), h80i rear, SP120 quiet editions push/pull. There is more fans exhausting than fans intaking so i believe it is negative air pressure. The problem is there is a lot of dust due to the air in my room (with carpet floor) being filled with dust and then that air is being sucked in through all the small vents on my case. I would like it if someone suggested what would be a better fan set-up that uses positive air pressure... PS, my psu is too large to fit another intake fan at bottom

So I have the buzzing issue with my Swiftech H220, and I was wondering how people were able to fix it. I think it's just air trapped in my pump, but I'm not entirely sure. I tried all the remedies suggested by Swiftech and they didn't work, so I requested an RMA. They basically told me to screw off and deal with it as it is "normal" and should operate like this. But, it is VERY loud and clearly audible, even with headphones on. Clearly, it shouldn't be like this. So does anyone have a way to fix this? I'm really upset with how their customer service is and how the unit is behaving. I was expecting great things, and then I got this. As a side note, are ~70C temps under full load with a 4770k 4.3Ghz 1.26v normal? Or do they seem a bit high? I was expecting them to be a bit lower.
-
Im looking for a really high end air cooler that can cool a 3770K with high voltages (just in case I get a bad chip). I'd like the fan's on it to be very quiet, and to operate at or sub 1100 rpm, as the main goal here is to get similar or better performance to a H110, but at a quieter operation (no pump noise) It'd have to fit in a Fractal Design Arc Midi R2. I am using ram with about 3mm tall heat sinks, so that shouldn't be an issue. My budget is £75, but i could stretch it to £90 if required (including any aftermarket fans). I have no brand preferences, just that the company is well known. Appreciate any suggestions.

AIO or AIR - Final component to my build
CloneReeco posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Need to get a cpu cooler ordered ASAP so that I can start putting my build together. Build is listed below. First decision is Air or AIO? I know the basic advantages and disadvantages of both, my main gripe is noise levels and appearance. I am not a major over clocker so to me its not all about performance (will overclock in the future), however with my case and its side window, aesthetics are a factor and IMO AIO are sexyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and AIR coolers tend to be big bulky and ugly. I also dislike how AIR coolers can get in the way of other components and generally hide most of the motherboard. So really I guess what I am saying is can you recommend any good performing air coolers that are quiet, won't take up too much room, look good and have a good performance. If not air then what options for AIO can I go? Would definitely prefer 240mm rad so I can mount in the top of the case. Looking for something sexy, quiet and good performance. Maximum budget is no more than £100 but the cheaper the better. (Need a mechanical keyboard). ------------------------------------------- Here is my build for reference. CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For £167.99) PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (Purchased For £80.90) Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For £129.99) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory (Purchased For £68.06) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For £164.14) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB DirectCU II Video Card (Purchased For £353.99) Case: Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For £91.99) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro Retail (Purchased for £39.99) Mouse: Logitech G700s Gaming Mouse (Purchased For £57.20) Total: £1114.26 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available -
Hi people of the forums! I just have a quick question about whether bitfenix spectre pro fans (http://tinyurl.com/ntx995v) would have good enough cooling performance to use on a corsair H100i? I was originally going to buy four corsair SP 120 fans for a push, pull config but I wanted something that would add a bit of 'bling' to my build, I therefore saw Linus use the spectre pro fans on a radiator in one of his build guides and just wondered how they would perform? Thanks

While still remaining relatively quiet, on stock cooling I rarely go above 70c while gaming. This really surprised me. I was expecting to go into the low-mid 80s. I'm going to order a new cooler soon, but I don't feel uncomfortable running stock clocks on this processor anymore with stock cooling. Anyway, I'm looking for a new one because I want it to be even quieter and even cooler. I have a max budget of about $80 for an air cooler, since my case can't do any 240mm rads so there's no point. Also I want it to be quiet. People will start saying either Be Quiet! or Noctua, and I would like to know the pros and cons of both, or other coolers if there are any I should look at. Thanks.

Hi, .. I have few questions about fan grills. 1. What are fan grills for? 2. Do they work? 3. Do they make the air more cold if you add grills on both sides of the fan? 4. Are they worth using knowing what are for?..

I'm looking for some good case fans with White LEDs. My case is the NZXT H440, so airflow is already somewhat diminished by the enclosure of the front and top panels with the restrictive vents. I guess it's also worth mentioning I use the 212 EVO for CPU cooling, so likewise in combination that, the quieter the case fans, the better. I know Airflow optimised fans are generally the best options for intake/exhaust on cases, but does that still apply with the H440 because of the aforementioned airflow restriction? Would Static Pressure optimised fans be a better option? Thanks in advance for any advice and/or reccomendations
