Hi, I'm relatively new to the forums, and I'm about to build my second computer. I have all the parts picked but one. I will be using this computer for X-Plane 10 and FSX, so please take that into consideration. The title says it all. Although there are a few things. I could go with the 770 2GB or 4GB. I could go with the 960 2GB or 4GB. Whatever one I get, I will eventually buy another one to run in SLI. My budget for this build is $1,000. I did very light research on both of these cards, but I want some opinions. P.S. I love the Titan cooler look, so if it's 50/50 I would go with the 770's just for looks. And also, feel free to voice your opinion on my build. SPECS: CPU: i7-4790K RAM: 2x8GB 1866 HyperX Fury MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z97 MARK1 GPU: Undecided PSU: 850W (yes thats overkill, but I'm keeping an open-mind for upgrade purposes) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Storage: Already have. 512GB. 1TB.

I have 2 GTX 770 DC2 oc editions and I am having issues overclocking one of my cards. One of my 770's peaks at about 1258mhz even when it is set to go higher. I have tried allowing more voltage and I am using 115% of the TDP and it still is at 1258. anything higher and the card crashes. I have monitored the temps and they are perfectly fine and do not go above 50-60 degrees C. Did I just get a shitty card or is there something actually wrong with it?

Hey Guys, I'm looking at getting a GTX 770 over this Christmas break, and I found that there are two 770's that are fairly similar. There is the Gigabyte Oc edition and the eVGA 4g Superclocked edition. I was wondering if spending the extra $55 is worth it? I do my gaming in 1080p but have multiple monitors that I use. Here are the links to both: eVGA: http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/products_review.phtml?id=10&bid=2&id2=247&sid=138198 Gigabyte: http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=247&bid=2&sid=134439 Thanks in advance, Skwoad

Im building a new gaming pc and i'm not sure what to do about my graphics card. At first it was going to be a gigabyte windforce 770 4gb and I was planning on getting another one in the new year for SLI. But with the 970 out now would it be better the buy one 970 and save some money by not getting two 770's or will two 770;s beat out a 970?
-
I already have 1 GeForce 770 2GB in my system, and I would like to buy another. Firstly, is it even worth it?! And secondly, would I need to buy another one with the same amount of VRAM? As 2GB is slowly going out of date. Thank you

I have been looking for good deals on parts for a mini itx build since my current PC has stopped working all together. Im interested in gaming at 1080p medium to high settings at 40-60+ fps and from what i can see this should do it. Intel i7-4790 3.60GHz stock cooler MSI GEForce GTX 770 OC 2GB Intel 530 120GB High Perfomance SSD 8GB Kingston 2 x 4GB RAM (11-11-11 timing) MSI B85I Gen 4 LGA1150 Mini ITX motherboard Antec ISK600 Mini ITX Case Antec Earthwatts EA-550 Platinum low noise PSU Windows 8.1 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Zaven2110/saved/Vytrxr Now before anyone says "you should get X because its the same price" these parts are on offer for £550 all together so all i want to know is will this do what i want it to do? *edit* i have hard drives i can use

So, currently my rig has a GTX 770. I have a will have a chance to get an upgrade in the near future. Is it better to get another 770 for an SLI configuration, or should I just get a GTX 970? Any help or advice is appreciated.

I just installed the new Nvidia drivers that activate Dynamic Super Resolution for older GPUs, and I can't get it to work on my 770. I've done a clean install twice now, enabled DSR in the Nvidia Control Panel, still no options to raise the resolution in GeForce Experience. What am I doing wrong?

How does the R9 280x compare to the GTX 770 and 780? Looking to pick up a good GPU for mainly gaming purposes. Thought about getting a 770, then switched to a R9 290, but couldn't find one in sale on stock, so the 280x is my next choice. Just wondering what you guys have to say, thank you.

The title pretty much says it all. I have to decide between getting a GTX 970 with an AMD, a GTX 770 with an SSD and AMD, or a GTX 770 with and Intel processer and no SSD. I have links to all three of the builds below it you want to see what else I am putting into it. Also note that I want to keep this at pretty much $1000 to play modern games on Ultra at 1080p. Thanks for everyones help! Building a new system, have this so far, and the XFX R9 290 is on sale. The only down side is that it's out of stock on Newegg, so I was wondering if there was a similar priced card that is similar to the 290. The 290 is also on sale for $265 on OutletPC. I originally had the GTX 770, but it was priced a little bit higher than the 290 when on sale. I plan on doing mainly gaming, and wish to be able to run games like Far Cry 4 on it well, mainly on 1080p. Here is my PC so far: CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Combo or $209.99 CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing $29.88 Motherboard ASRock Z97 KILLER ATX LGA1150 Combo or $99.99 Memory G.Skill Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 $66.99 Storage PNY XLR8 120GB 2.5" SSD $61.99 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $49.99 Video Card XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation $239.99 Case NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower $64.99 Power Supply Corsair 600W ATX12V $53.99 Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) $86.42 Wireless Network Adapter Rosewill RNX-N180UBE 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 $12.99 Case Fan Corsair Air Series AF120 Red 52.2 CFM 120mm $14.98 The total is about $950. I'm on a budget so not really looking for anything more expensive, just another alternative or a way to save money. If there's also anything I should change, please let me know. Thank you.

I'm running a decent rig with an ASUS GTX 770, an Intel core i5 of the fourth generation and with an adequate amount of ram. I also have adequately good cooling, with a constant airflow through my case, good cable management and a closed-loop watercooling kit from Corsair. With this hardware, I'd expect to be able to run BF4 at both High and Ultra settings, which I can, but some days I experience an annoying issue where I have constant framedrops, especially when zooming in with for example a sniper rifle. I'm not good with troubleshooting so that's why I'm trying to check with the clever and experienced community of this forum! I tried to monitor not only temperatures of CPU and GPU, but also all other relevant monitoring information and as I did, I noticed some patterns when experiencing the lag spikes. Here's an album with the screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/4LWJU GPU usage, FB usage and Power Target Status almost always drop. I can't figure out why but all help and speculation is appreciated!

Hello everyone! Now i have a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 770 4GB. Overclocked at 1189 (1059) MHz base and 1241 (1111) MHz Boost and memory at 1840 MHz (1753). I have been think about buying a 980, but do i really need to upgrade. I've already have 4gb of ram. Although my core clocks and memory clocks aren't nearly as high as the 980 and the TDP is MUCH higher. In my mind it still don't justify the need for an upgrade, because i can run all the games that i play (and i play a lot of different gamen. Simulators, FPS, Strategy, ect) So therefor i'm asking for you're advice almighty gurus of the LinusTechTips forum! //SBJ

I recently just installed Far Cry 3 about 3 days ago on my computer, and every time I have started the game, I was getting 60 FPS on ultra settings. However, when I launched the game tonight, it was hovering at around 30-45 FPS without me changing any settings for anything. I have actually had this same experience with games before. Like with Bioshock Infinite, some of the time the game would be running beautifully at 60 FPS when I started it, but at other times, it would run around 20-30 FPS. Would anyone happen to know what is going on? Also, my 770 is NOT overclocked. I'm thinking about getting a 760 (or perhaps a 770, upgrading from a 560ti) but thinking of the future do you guys think it would be worth waiting until the games that I want to play will be released and then buy a new card? For example I'm awaiting Mirrors edge 2, Far Cry 3, Killing Floor 2 and the Oculous Rift, would it be worth going for a 760 or a 770 or seeing what new cards there might be in the future? Is anything on the horizon? Also if I did decide to get one now, should I make sure I get myself a 4gb card? Cheers!

I thought i herd that they were going to cut the price but it doesn't seem like its happened yet. Am i just making stuff up or...

I'm really indecisive about it, should I just go for it, wait for the rumored 970, or just wait for a price drop of the 770? Does anyone have news (not speculations) regarding this? Personally, I'd love to get the 780, but that's way out of my budget.

Ello forums, I'm new here Just a quick question, I'm planning on upgrading my PC soon, and considering Black Friday is soon this point in this time, I have two options: -Get a GTX 770 (2BG) -Get ANOTHER R9 270x and Crossfire with my existing one. Clearly the Crossfire option is cheaper, but is it worth the bang for the buck? I do keep things on a budget and I also plan on upgrading other parts aswell in my PC this holiday. What would be a better choice?

OK so lately i've been trying to figure out witch GPU to buy. I've narrowed down my choices to 3 cards.... and its up to you to help me figure this out!!! so price doesn't really matter because they are all in the same range, so here are the links. GTX 760 FTW http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130944&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= GTX 760 SC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130949&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= GTX 770 SC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130946&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Lastly.... A generic R9 280x. the main reason why i actually didnt know which one to buy was because the 760s had 4GB GDDR5 instead of 2. Also which one over clocks the best. And which one would you put in your build???

Hello tech savvy friends. I am trying to decide between buying a second GTX 770 or just buying one GTX 980. I am keen on the idea of having some SLI action in PC and I have been very pleased with the power of my current 770. I would love to hear all of your opinions! Thank You

This Thursday when i was coming back from my Japanese lessons, i was talking with a friend. After a few minutes our conversation drifted into GPU section. Around 6-8 months he upgraded his PC with I7 4770k and GTX 770. I mentioned to him about 970 and how it's currently my favorite card (since it's price:performance ratio, something that i think is extremely important, is currently the best. Let's see what AMD will offer), and how that because of it's "new" Maxwell architecture it has low TDP and can be OC'ed nicely. He said something that really... well... surprised me... He goes to a private IT school (programming and stuff), and i thought he should be knowledgeable about computers... Well, he said that only GTX Ti cards can be OC'ed... I said to him that every card can be OC'ed, and that it depends on your luck of the draw, GPU cooler, PSU... He said it can't... After that he said that Nvidia releases a Ti version of their EVERY card after around a year and that they're called THE SAME (And that his 770 is actually 770Ti that can be OC'ed)... Now, someone please enlighten me... Either i'm as stupid as a snail, or he got his facts horribly wrong... Either way, one thing that it thought me is that to take everything he says with more than a grain of salt...

Hi All, Right now I'm using the GTX 770 from Galaxy, and I play games on a 1080P 144hz monitor. I mainly play CS:GO and 770 is more than enough for the game, but sometime I play some "big" games too, e.g. Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs, Far Cry3 etc. I found myself not satisfying with the avg 30-40 fps on High/Ultra, especially after I'm used to the higher refresh rate. Which leads me to wanting an upgrade. I've read/watched some benchmark reports, but they are very inconsistent with each other, some state it's better than 780 Ti some don't. However, the performance is definitely better than 770, witch generally has 20-30 extra fps on 1080p. I want to get the gigabyte g1 970 http://www.ncix.com/detail/gigabyte-gtx-970-g1-1329mhz-1a-102011.htm and I can sell my 770 for $200, do you guys think this upgrade worth $250? or should I wait another year. Thanks!
