  1. I just installed an Asus TUF 1660 into my system, and the performance as well as temps have been pretty good for 1080p. I wouldn't be too worried about cooling issues on the card, it doesn't get very hot and the "TUF" series is designed for reliability and longevity rather than straight up performance. Granted, my CPU is probably slightly bottlenecking the GPU as I'm still running a Haswell i7.
  2. Thank you!! My budget for a GPU upgrade would be $300 Canadian.
  3. Sorry guys, no monitors or peripherals. Just the system. I’m selling my current system for a new one.
  4. Simply put, I need some ideas on the best Gaming build for $900 CAD. It will only be used for gaming and other Microsoft suite applications (access/word) Thanks!
  5. So my current CPU/RAM/MOBO/GPU setup is as follows: Intel i7-4770 Corsair 8GB DDR3 RAM 1600mhz Asus Z97-A motherboard Nvidia GTX 770 4GB I’m looking to get better frame rates at 1080p at 144hz, as the GTX 770 is starting to show its age. My main concern is that, because of how old my CPU is, and how I’m still running DDR3 RAM, that it may bottleneck a new GPU if I buy one. Would it be a waste to get a new GPU? Or should I just wait and save up and build a whole new system? Also i’m looking at the AMD RX 590 as they’re a really good price right now in Canada. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. I think its time for an upgrade from my EVGA GTX 770 SC to something with a little more gusto. My budget's around 250$ Canadian so it basically boils down to the GTX 1060 3GB or RX 480 4GB. I've seen a lot of the benchmarks and they're pretty much neck and neck. Right now I'm leaning more towards team red with the 480 but I just wanted to get some other opinions.... Thanks
  7. Definitely would recommend getting an SSD first, then I would upgrade the PSU to some 550W Gold+, then OC the CPU with a better cooler, and get a better GPU (1070 -esque)
  8. I don't have a set budget in mind, its more of just which component to upgrade first
  9. Hello everyone, This is my current desktop build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/XpvddC It has been the same since the summer of 2014, so just over two years now, and I'm looking to upgrade the system. What would be the first thing that you guys would recommend upgrading (if anything at all)? Thanks!
  10. Okay I need advice, because I've been thinking about this and I'm really not sure how to approach this. A couple of nights ago some buddies and I went out and we ended up deciding to go to the bar (lounge). One of our friends, who isn't of legal age, decided he was going to stick around and see if he could get in without ID. Fortunately, I thought, my girlfriends sister was serving that night, and therefore didn't ID us because she trusted me and knew I was of legal age. The night went on smoothly, we left, and that was that. Two days later, I get a text from my girlfriend saying that her sister is extremely angry and that I have lost all of her trust. It turns out my girlfriend knew that one of my friends wasn't of age, told her sister, and then now she's upset with me. Apparently it's a large fine for not checking ID as well. Not to mention her parents also found out. So now I'm here, with her parents and her sister hating me, all because of going to the bar with one of my friends who wasn't of age, and not saying that we shouldn't have gone. I'm not sure what to do, because my girlfriend is also mad and has called me irresponsible and selfish. I've tried explaining to her that it wasn't my idea and that I wasn't aware of the consequences, but she just saw it as me being ignorant, so now I'm mad. How do you guys think I should approach this, because I've asked for her sisters number to apologize, but she declined giving it to me. thanks everyone, sorry for the long read.
  11. I work at an Acura dealership and personally the 2016 Acura TLX strikes the perfect blend of style, performance, class, and luxury. Get one with a V6 and SH-AWD and I don't know of any girl that would look at you the wrong way for owning one of those... Just my opinion
  12. That's also true. And I don't think I would pick the touchscreen either - too annoying. My desktop could also use a hefty upgrade too (new GPU and more ram for sure)
