  1. My thoughts exactly.
  2. Hey Guys! I appreciate all the help so far. So I just purchased my GPU and my monitor (I will post pictures once they come in). So, I'm considering getting some red neon light ing for the case and was wondering was people like. Anyway, here's my list for my 300r build. Thanks for the help! 3. Hmm... interesting. I may have to return my 650.
  4. Hey Guys! So I now have everything except my GPU and Monitors. I was doing some more research on the r9 290's suggested above and I saw that the XFX suggests no lower than a 750 watt power supply. Will my 650W EVGA 80+ Gold be sufficient? Also, I got the H80i, which fits, but I can't put a top mounted fan above it very well. However, I could fit a 120 or 140mm fan above the RAM for an additional Exhaust. Should I get another case fan for extra exhaust? 5. This is perfect. So I can still mount top fans (they will be tight, but it's possible), and have water cooling!
  6. Yeah, There are definitely mounts for the radiator/fans on top. My only concern is fitting them in with the mother board. It looks like there is enough room for one or the other without modifications. From what I've seen there tends to be an issue with the fans and radiator both fitting inside the case (Looks like RAM might get in the way).
  7. Hey Guys, So I have another couple of questions about this build. I'm worried about the size of the case and putting in water coolers. The rear fan is only 120mm and there is very little clearance between the top of the case and the motherboard. I am currently between the Kraken X41, X61, H80i, and H60. Any suggestions on what would be the best option/how to fit these in the 300r?
  8. So, I just picked up a couple pieces. I spent just over $250 and got the Asrock z97 fata1ity KillerX and the Crucial MX100 256 GB SSD. So really that leaves the graphics card, HDD, Power supply, and the CPU. I'm going to try to wait a little bit and catch the CPU/Graphics cards on sale. Thanks for the input! If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!
  9. The budget that I listed does not include what I already purchased. It is only for the remaining items.
  10. I really like those water coolers. The only thing I'm concerned with is space. I don't think a 240 would work in this case. There isn't much clearance on top, so I am likely stuck with one that fits a 120mm fan at the back of the case.
  11. Thanks for the help! It is really appreciated! As for the DDR3, the only reason I bought the 2400 was because I caught the shell shocker deal on Newegg, so it was the same/lower price than a lot of the 1600 ram.
  12. Yes, I'm in the U.S. Also, the cost of windows is not a factor because I get it for about $5 as a student . So how does the Asrock compare to the MSI Gaming-5? And yeah, I should have clarified... This budget is for the remaining pieces that I need to buy. Thanks for the help!
  13. Hello everyone! So I'm completely new to pc building, but I decided I want to build a great all around PC that I will be able to game, stream, record, and edit video on. At this point, I'm torn between starting off with an i5 4690k or the i7 4790k. I do plan on doing a little overclocking at some point, and I'm currently attempting to keep it a red and black color scheme (willing to sacrifice for performance, though). For the mobo, I definitely want the z97 chipset, probably Asus or MSI, but I thought some feedback here would be helpful. I'm starting off with the Corsair Carbide 300R windowed. I know that limits my water cooling options, but I would like to have some sort of water cooling, hopefully a closed loop like the Corsair H80i. OR, should I go with a nicer air cooler? I'm not super worried about airflow because this case is very open and has room for LOTS of fans. Another place that I don't have a clue where to begin is with the graphics card. I have read multiple reviews, and reports on what you should and shouldn't do with video cards, but I think that I will probably need to get a decent card or two cards for this build. I'm likely only going to use two monitors with a potential for a third down the road, so that may also affect the GPU decision. As far as storage goes, I know I'm getting an SSD and a HDD, just waiting to see what I can afford once I get the other pieces . Here's what I have so far: -Corsair Carbide 300R (windowed) - G. Skill TridentX DDR3 2400 (2x4) This build is still essentially a blank slate, so I am open to all feedback and ideas. Looking to keep the computer build (before peripherals) between $900-$1100.
