Not sure how I should feel about Microsoft's .NET MAUI UI project.

Linux support is entirely supported by the community with no involvement by Microsoft .

It's coming out in November 2021 as a replacement to Xamarin.Forms with the launch of .NET 6 .

Officially supported platforms are Windows, Mac, IOS, and Android. Unofficially supported platforms are Linux and Tizen.

Visual Basic is being killed off of course with C# and F# being the only languages supported at launch.

Feels very much like this is too little too late. Gotta be honest, this is what .NET Core 3.0 should have been. Instead we'll have .NET 5 launching in late 2020 and .NET 6 with Microsoft MAUI in late 2021.

This is very much a reactionary move as Microsoft has noticed that C# and .NET are doing worse than they've done in recent memory and they're trying to stop C# develooers bleeding into C++ and other languages.
