  1. @Dackzy yeah that along with the flashy bits were the reason I was not to keen of the razer. @exercutor5 Thanks that is quite a bit cheaper actually than digital storm. @Jolyon I see what you mean i unfortunately I don't have a ton of access to a ton of retailers to go checkout products but I've been looking through tons of reviews As for the itx suggestions i was hoping to do that a bit after i get myself a job for a while at college and wanted something a bit more powerful and mobile as i do do some design and video editing stuff all the time and love gaming so for the next few months i wanted a laptop which fit my needs well.
  2. So I'm headed off to college in a few weeks and I cant quite take my desktop, (probably handing it down to a sibling) so i was looking for a laptop which was around 2k USD. I've been looking at boutique and major retailers and so far I've looked at Digital Storm and Razer (not really interested by Hp or dells alien ware line) . I play tons of video games but i wont be playing as many once im at college but i still want the horse power to run games like battlefield 1 and star citizen, but I want the laptop to look professional too, it kinda makes it hard to act mature when your keyboard is lit up in multiple colors and the Razer logo is glowing on the back of your laptop. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions out side of the Digital Storm Triton and the Razer blade 14. P.s. i want i to have decent battery life when not gaming, and to be portable so nothing over like 16 Inches pls. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  3. I Don't really intend to go to 4k but hopefully a 1440 p monitor soon after yeah, I thought it was a bit silly myself but i wasn't really sure about the relevance of AMD processors anymore i haven't put them in any rig since because i just put Pentium anniversary editions in most rigs that were for friends and family just to keep the cost down.
  4. I built my current rig in 2012-2013 and it was supposed to be among the best price to performance ratio at the time, but it has recently begun to struggle to run games on higher settings and is generally not keeping up as well as i had hoped anymore and i have been looking into just upgrading most of the internals but I'm not sure what direction to go in first and where i should spend the most money with my primary concern being my power supply and its ability to keep up with any upgrades i make to the rest of the rig. I'm beginning to play a lot of elite and games like battlefront and star citizen but i also enjoy games like cs:go. i have a few ideas on how to go about completing my goals but I'm not entirely sure as to how to proceed. below i have my current specs and two sets of parts I'm considering one bumps up the CPU to a skylake i5 but doesn't provide as substantial a GPU upgrade however it can be said that a 970 over a 7870 is a massive improvement , and one set which will only bring the CPU up to a 8350 but allows for two 970s or one 980ti. current specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Q8RfXL first set: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RxrJJx second set: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wqQNVn I appreciate any input or advice, I've built many rigs since then but haven't really worked on my own much. Thanks in advance.
  5. The links should work now all 8 gb is detected and when not doing anything it sits a 3gb of ram used im not running any background task that im aware of however @insayan i did see that my page file was set to 25 gb and it was optimized for background tasks what value should i set that to and where
  6. so my PC is spiced out in this link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bskVgs the issue I've been having has two parts the first is when i launch a game no matter what game i get a memory full warning the game is still playable but once im in game any game really I've noticed significantly lower frames only 40 fps avg in bf3 on the low preset ive never had any issues with memory before so what could be causing my issues? p.s. i have all the latest drivers installed
  7. Those definitions seem to specific i mean i play many games but i foucus hevily on cs at the moment but just a year ago i spent days playing bf4 right after launch so i think there is an inbetween casual and hardcore if hardcore is defined as you described it and casual i think should ve seen more as light games and more mobile / occasiolnal gaming vs a diverse gamer
  8. 500 usd Sorry for that
  9. im looking for something which has a resolution between 1440p to 4k with a high enough pixel density that i dot get the sense of grids for example in csgo a game im quite fond of when i am at some ones head i would like not to just be able to see a single pixel through my cross hair at range and for things like star citizen where there is no confirmed date for the addition of aa id like to get something where that wont matter as much id like to spend around or below 500 for this monitor
  10. wow all of your builds have managed to save a bit on the 2000$ mark thanks ill definitely use some of your suggestions but you guys recommended a lot of small cases and im a big guy with big hands and im worried that i may be unable to work in them as i can work in my phantom 410 but it is very difficult to get cables and such plugged also in may it be worth it to wait a few months and see if amd drops cards and freesync at the same time so i can save a bit on peripherals and put more back towards the rig @vern021
  11. peripherals & os weren't included in that budget i have some money set aside for that as for the location if you mean physical i live in florida concerning the water cooling as i am someone who would like to gain the experience so that i may apply it to future endeavors it would be nice but if the cost would lead to a significant performance hit im willing to hold off @vern021
  12. hey guys I'm still fairly new to custom pcs but i have two builds under my belt now and I'm looking into the more exotic bleeding edge of what is available but i haven't researched much in the ways of higher end hardware both my current rigs are mid range pcs around 800$ but for my next build i wanted to go to about a 2000$ price point I'm looking to game at max of 1440p at the moment maybe record and stream some. in addition i was wondering if going for a water cooling loop would be worth it at this price point i have overclocked on my previous system with pre-filled coolers but never set up my own and i kinda wanna start getting into more of that type of thing. it feels extremely confusing at this price point weighing out the benefits of amd vs nvidia and amd vs intel where as in the past for it been about the best price to performance now features are different and each manufacturer has exclusive tech. ive looked into picking the parts and putting them up here for you guys but i usually get stuck at the mother board as im dazed by the slew of z97 boards already out. thanks in advance
  13. Well i gues cause everythings stock so it could be
  14. P.s. i live in florida and my pc is making the noise of a vccume cleaner sshould i look into a closed loop water cooler at all
  15. Even if that is the case is unadvisable to stock pile the parts for and switch them in the future For example keep them around untill i can afford a licence
