  1. i tried the momentums today, i found the bass pretty damn good, i would describe it as "wide", all of the bass frequencies are present and detailed unlike low quality headphones that just sound muddy. they have a wide soundstage with perhaps slightly recessed highs. my only problem with the momentums was the kinda small size of the cups even on the over ear version. you might want to try them on before buying, but the sound: damn good! i was grinning the whole time i was listening to them. i haven't tried any of the other headphones but read good reviews of the m100s.
  2. i'll send it back for replacement, everything else is either new or stuff that worked fine on my previous build.
  3. i ran out of ideas about a week ago , power is fine on everything, and i double checked compatibility before bying anything (well, i forgot the RAM but apart from that.and i got new ram anyway).
  4. i've been trying to solve this problem for a week now, i've tried every possible combination and nothing works. I've only posted today because the new RAM arrived and i held out hope that it would somehow magicaly work.... there is no VGA connection on the mobo, and the onboard graphics i think are supposed to work with hdmi. the only time i get a beep is when i take out the ram and the beep is only the code for "no RAM installed" so yeah...
  5. HDMI directly from the mobo. also tried from the GPU.
  6. also, wouldn't the LEDs turn off if it booted?
  7. it's a new rig, there isn't an OS to boot , but if i can't even get into the bios or see anything on the screen ,and OS is kinda pointless. But even with my old ssd with an OS, no difference.
  8. As long as there is no RAM in there are beeps, with ram, nothing. No indication that it booted. memok! circles through the different memory profiles, like it's supposed to, but still no boot and the DRAM led remains lit after the profiles are through.
  9. One stick desn't work, even after CMOS clear.
  10. but that's the maximum, not standard, and the mem ok! button should deal with that if that was the problem.
  11. nope, all i get is fans and red RAM led, no output on screen.
  12. allright, some more details: old RAM was the vengeance 16Gb kit cmz8gx3m2a1600c9, these were NOT officially supported. new RAm is the kingston KHX2133C11D3K4/16GX , these are listed as officially supported both in the manual and the asus website. neither of these work. When i put even one stick in, no beeps form the system speaker no Boot and stuck on DRAM LED. Without RAM, i get the beep code for no ram detected.
  13. Well, new motherboard, new cpu are just a pile of silicon at the moment because the ruddy thing doesn't boot. it's stuck on the DRAM led. According to Asus self diagnosis the RAM isn't compatible with the mobo. but i just bought new RAM in the hopes that that was the bloody problem! And it still won't boot! it's an Asus Sabertooth Mark 1, with a i7 4790k. Anyone have a clue? cause i'm guessing defective mobo. thanks for your help. and memok! bios flash, and cmos clear don't seem to help... edit: old RAM was the vengeance 16Gb kit cmz8gx3m2a1600c9, these were NOT officially supported. new RAm is the kingston KHX2133C11D3K4/16GX , these are listed as officially supported both in the manual and the asus website. neither of these work. 14. My question is this: Using the example of the Asus transformer t100. Say you installed Linux on top of the base windows OS. when dual booting you are given a choice between the OSs, you have to press enter to select. This should work when you have the keyboard accessory attached. But in "tablet mode", since as far as i can tell touch capabilities are loaded with the OS , you won't have an Enter to press, so how would you select which OS to boot? Has anyone tried this or knows how this would go? Just curious... While we're at it, does anyone know how well dual booting on chromebooks works? ps: yes, there is a timer and one of the OSs would boot after a couple of seconds, i was just wondering if you could make any kind of input using the touchscreen at the OS select screen.
