  1. UPDATE . . . I uninstalled the display drivers completely, and reinstalled them (391.35), still not able to get it to switch to RGB/12bit/Full Range. I have setup a post on Dell's forum and have yet to hear anything as well. Anyone run across this before?

  3. I just got a new monitor - Dell U2718Q which does 4K and supposedly HDR. I attempted to go into the NVIDIA control panel and change the settings to RGB/12bit/Full Range, however when I click apply the monitor goes black, then comes back and the options are back at the default values which are YCbCr422/10bit/Limited range. I am doing this over a known capable HDMI 2.2 cable. Also I have an Alienware 15 w/1070 that I am using as the system. Any ideas? FYI: Cross posted in gpu section as well.

  5. Hey guys, I was going to go and buy the Alienware 15 with 1070 and 7700hq tonight, then I found out Alienware is selling the 8750h version. My question is, should I spend the extra $600 and wait a month for the 8750h i7 version, or save the money and put it towards an external 4k monitor? I will mostly be doing ms office related workloads, heavy Adobe Lightroom use, and some gaming while traveling.
  6. I used to have a sli 1080 setup with a 6700k, loved it, but the reality is that I travel A LOT for my job and rarely have time to just sit down and game. Looking forward to the Alienware system giving me the power I want and still relativity portable. I will be getting the 4K screen then, thanks for the input!
  7. Hey everyone, I am getting my new laptop delivered on Thursday and need help deciding which monitor to go with between a 4k LG 27UD69P-W or a 1440p HP 32Q. . . I know there are many other options out there but these two are available to me locally and I have a gift card to use up. I am getting an Alienware 15 with the GTX1070 model, and I mainly plan to use the external monitor for business work (typing up reports, spreadsheet use), photo editing, and general media consumption. I don't really plan to game to much on the external, but it would be nice to throw up Civ6 if the 1070 can handle it. Your opinions on which one out of the two to get is always appreciated, and the reason why. TIA!
  8. Thats on the list, I was so excited that I got all the main parts that I just couldn't wait to put it together haha.
  9. Thought I would take a minute to share my newly completed 4K build - So far I am loving it! The display is amazing and the 1080 does it justice, however I can't help think what a 2nd 1080 would do for me. Anyways, this is my new build named ICEBERG. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CBFtKZ IMG_0053 (3) by Kyle Welch, on Flickr IMG_0055 by Kyle Welch, on Flickr IMG_0068 by Kyle Welch, on Flickr
  10. Wow, I feel like a tool. I didn't realize that I needed to remove the whole lower drive cage. Ugh. Learning, yay! Thanks!
  11. The mounting holes/strips do not line up properly. Not sure if it's just my case or a bigger issue with other cases.
  12. Has anyone had success in mounting a Corsair H115i in push/pull config in the front of the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Case? I have tried numerous times with very little success. Any input and pictures would be a big help! Thanks in advance.
  13. As the title states, I am having a hell of a time trying to remove the back panel for a HP 15-BA079DX laptop to upgrade to an SSD. Has anyone had any luck with this model? Or am I stuck with the HDD? I tried removing all the screws on the back but that did little if any help.
  14. Thanks for the excellent description ! Do you have a opinion on what monitor would be best? Currently looking at the asus rob swift pg279q as an IPS monitor is important to me as well.
  15. Still trying to figure out what monitor to go with for my new skylake/1080 build. My budget is no more than $800USD but obviously lower price would be appreciated. My question is, is GSync @ 144hz - 1440p really important? I could go all out and get the ROG Swift 279 model and have the best of the best. But I have a feeling I would be happy with a 144hz 1440p monitor without gsync or does it really play a big role? I will be playing mainly AAA games like FPS & RPG. Any opinions are welcome on what to buy.
