  1. If anything this will be my go to if the GPU upgrade doesn’t work as intended. The build you laid out is awesome! Thank you!!
  2. Just for encoding, I don’t need to game on my rig. I’ll be gaming on some consoles and just passing the video through.
  3. Gotcha, thank you for the feedback! I’m going to go this route!
  4. I am looking to upgrade and repurpose my current rig into a streaming pc. I was thinking about replacing the GPU with an intel a770 for the AV1 encoder and get the Elgato MK2 4k Pro. What is your opinion on this? I’m looking to stream 1440p 60fps to YouTube, the current capture card died unfortunately. I will be using consoles as the source media. The software I want to use is OBS for streaming. My budget is $1k US for what makes sense to upgrade. Any help will be appreciated! I’ll attach my current build below. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nWXy28
  5. Oh gotcha so steps do not matter and do not compare, thank you for your help with this. I was just amazed by the steps haha. Thank you again!
  6. Sorry I could not get it to replicate for a while until now. So where it says build is where in this project description it says "avx_256". So what I am confused on is how my CPU when using this AVX-256 project is faster than my GPU with a similar amount of points workload? Is 1 CPU step not the same to 1 GPU step? Or is there something else going on? 7. Yes I can, I turned it off for the night but I will tomorrow
  8. Hey everyone! I am folding on my gpu and cpu, I noticed that the cpu workloads are saying that they are AVX_256 in the log sometimes. I noticed that a 1,000,000 step workload on the cpu with the AVX_256 workloads are sometimes faster than my gpu workloads with the same 1,000,000 step core. Can someone explain why this is? I tried looking for an explanation online but got a lot of nothing, hoping someone here can enlighten me! Thank you!!
  9. Lol I was I just so happy to finally buy a GPU that is not overpriced lol!
  10. I walked into best buy today browsing and found an EVGA 1080 at MSRP, 1070, 1060 6GB, and 1050Ti. And AMD 580, 570, and 560 all in stock and at MSRP. I was so happy I bought the 1080, I could not believe that Best Buy of all places would have the GPUs in stock and at MSRP. If you are looking to upgrade and in the USA check out Best Buy I am still in shock.
  11. Hey, when GPUs on the secondary markets become extremely cheap when mining slows down can you fold with 19 GPUS on one board? I saw the Asus B250 mining expert board and thought it would be extremely efficient to fold with. My main question is does Folding at Home support 19 GPUs per board? If so I would love to see LTT do an episode of this on that crazy rig that they have. Thank you for all of the responses in advance!
  12. Gotcha thanks for the help everyone I much appreciate it!
