  1. Hey everyone, im just in need of some help that would be much appreciated. My mum is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia and is going to be in hospital for the next up to 2 months. She wants a switch and to get animal crossing. they are limited in stock here and they are expensive when we find them. My friend is willing to borrow his to her. He already has the game purchased on his Nintendo account. My question is, if we create like a user profile on the switch, can we still play the game from his Nintendo account? Also if she buys her own switch in the future, could we transfer the game data over to her new console? Obviously she would then have to buy the game for herself too. Thanks everyone
  2. Hi everyone, I have an Acer aspire 1, N17Q4. when the pc goes to sleep i can wiggle the mouse, press keys or even tap the power button and it will not wake. i have to hold the power button until the power indicator goes off and then i can tap it to turn it back on. even that sometimes doesnt work and i have to hold it again to power off and turn on again. I have reset windows and messed with a few things like turning sleep off, but that just makes it so when you close the laptop the screen stays on and everything which obviously isnt good. Acer are just telling me to send it to be checked by them but i think its out of warranty now, but even still this surely should just be a small issue..? all i can think at this point after resetting windows is that its possibly a bios issue...? thanks everyone in advance.
  3. yep. I think ill just wait. I was thinking to grab one now as I can decide what's best as I already know what chip I want. but thered just not enough info right now. I'll think about what features I want and roughly what board. when we know more/ the chips are released ill grab the board too. thanks again
  4. ah right okay, but that will take time though right? like i just find it so weird that there like isnt a fully guaranteed compatible board for the new chips.... i guess board manufacturers must come out with some more info over the next couple of weeks...? thanks!
  5. ah yes i completely forgot about that feature again. someone mentioned it on an above comment too haha! maybe ill just grab one of those boards now. or you think its better to wait? and im just trying to think if vendors like amazon are even going to update pictures or specs to say it supports ryzen 5000? thanks!
  6. well from what it seems, they need that bios. but i dont think we know if boards will have it. apparently amd have been building in support for zen3 over the last few months or something. but i dont want to buy a board now and then its not compatible. i wonder if board manufacturers will be selling boards as specifically compatible on launch day. i need upgrade haha ive been waiting for so long, i just want to buy a board and a chip, why is this so confusing...
  7. yeah i get they support zen 3, but only if they have the right bios update right? what if i buy a board and it doesnt have the right bios? then i cant use my 1400 or my 5600x..? hahah you know what i mean?
  8. Right so another thing that has now confused me. i have a ryzen 5 1400. thats not compatible with b550...? that post you sent shows that if i buy a b550 it may not be compatible with the 5000 to post/boot? so if it has the wrong bios how to i get the 5000 to run on it...? im so confused now hahah
  9. ah i understand now. would it be sensible to purchase a b550 motherboard now then? Is there any way to tell what bios it will have on board? or should i just purchase it now, update bios with existing ryzen i already have? thanks again
  10. yeah I'm definitely not down for hack stuff, tbh I don't really want to do bios flashing and stuff. I've got the money id rather just get the new board I think, especially considering I'm on a320 now haha. a b550 would be a feature upgrade and be good out the box. thanks for the vid link ill check it out
  11. cheers for the help. yeah seems maybe pricing was off in the US? here they are priced as normal. x is considerably more than b. but I'll definitely keep an eye out for the usb bios flashing feature. I had completely forgotten about that. thanks!
  12. So ive been planning an upgrade for a little while and decided to wait for zen 3 instead of jumping on the 3600 which was the original plan. the pricing isnt great on the 3600 right now in the uk so im glad i did. but suppose that is irrelevant due to the higher than expected costs on the 5000 series. anyway, firstly ive tried to look at other posts and information online but im still not seeing a solid answer. i will be looking at most like the 5600x, possibly the 5800x but doubt it as i want gaming performance and it should be the same... Ive seen a tonne of videos regarding b550 motherboards and how they are pointless, everyone saying just get x570. "its pretty much the same price". here in the uk at least, b550 is starting at £80, x570 is starting at £135. that seems like a pretty big difference hahaha. the advantages seem so small to me like why would it be worth getting x370 for just gaming etc...? also are older gens even worth considering in my situation? any older boards that would be compatible via bios updates will most likely take time to be released i believe, ive been waiting a while already haha i want it asap. What are peoples opinions on the matter with those prices taken into consideration? Anyone else planning an upgrade? im upgrading from a ryzen 5 1400 with an a320 motherboard btw. also, ive not had any issues with this board or felt i missed any features. maybe a few extra usbs would be nice but thats about it. i dont need more slots i dont need pcie 4 etc. any input would be much appreciated. thanks in advance everyone.
  13. yeah i get you. just ordered a 16gb 3200 kit. corsair rgb pro was on sale for £70/$90. Dont keep an eye on these kind of things, but as far as im aware thats a good deal right? Cheapest i could find really was £65 for plain old ram. £70 for full rgb baller haha
  14. an 8gb 2400 will cost me £30 and a 16gb kit 3200 will cost me £60. so looks like im going to have to convince myself to do that. Screw you man! hahahah, you're right though! thanks! thanks for the help, have a good christmas man
  15. yeah sorry forgot to mention that, that is of course an option! Wasnt trying to spend too much money, but at the same time if im going to end up doing it in the future i may as well do it now haha. ill have a look at price comparison for a new kit compared to just getting another 8gb. howcome it doesnt matter at 2400? surely dual channel/proper comparability matters?
