I just started working at a different shop and there are 2 macs here that I need to make play a little more nicely. Issue 1; The symbol scanner on the Mac works fine. I need to change the setting that makes it hit enter after scanning. On pc you simply right click properties and check a box for this setting. On Mac I don't know how to get to the properties page or if there is one. Issue 2; One Mac has a barcode printer that works fine. I want the other Mac to also print on that printer. On pc i would just view that printer on the other computer through the network and click on it. On mac I can't seem to figure that out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Work Laptop, Wont connect to internet. Connects to network wirelessly and wired. Point of sales software communicates between computers. Shared Printers work. Took computer home, same thing at home on different network. Computer will sometimes load the google page you searched for 5 minutes ago, but not retain connection. All other computers connect fine wired and wireless. Have turned off firewall, No difference. Who has a different rabbit hole I can go down?

No Internet through unmanaged network switch.

I debated this. I was hoping to bypass the router ti limit the load on it. It goes down alot linksys, what can i say. I didnt think of the ip address thing. As soon as you said it it made sense to me -
The network where I work has been a rats nest of cables and B***$*it for years. I picked up an unmanaged 16 port switch from netgear and and wired everything up with fresh new cat 6 cable. The switch seems to be working just fine as all the computers talk to each other and see each other's printers, BUUUTTT, the internet seems the only work its way to whatever computer last had internet. Whichever computer I plug directly into the modem last will receive internet when everything is wired through the switch, but no other computers receive internet at the same time. Might be helpful info, IDK I have the line from the modem into port 1 on the switch I am attempting to run everything hardwired through the switch rather than through the Linksys router in the "wifi" slot. The one that says server isn't a real server, it's a pc that acts as a server for just point of sales software. Otherwise it's not a server. This feature is working through the switch and all the point of sales machines are talking and working. But with no internet they can't process payments.

I Posted links to matches on amazon but especially the samsung one the model number is the same except for like 2 letters at the suffix. I'm just not sure if they should match up or not

Our point of sales software at work operates from a bigger desktop machine "server" ,It's not a server but it does serve as the parent for data of this particular type of pos software. Anywho, that machine and the other machines talk to it and operate together. The machines are just regular enterprise desktops running windows 8 or 10 if they're newer laptops for service techs and the software is pretty bandwidth and RAM hungry. Yesterday I upgraded our router to one with way more cache and bandwidth and of course it's much better. My question is that the desktops each have one dim of 4gb ddr3 with an empty slot and the "server" machine has 2 dims of 4gb ddr3 with 2 empty slots. I'm looking to plug those other slots with matching ram just to up the attention span of thes machines. I've attached pictures of the existing dims that i need to purchase 2 matching sticks for each of. My question is are the links I'm posting here matched enough or do i have to be 110% matched on these to insure function? I think these should be close enough, right? Thats good to hear as I ordered the v30 last night. I was looking at the S9 as it had a headphone jack but the verizon one just had so damn much non-removable bloatware that I couldn't. My G6 full on bricked after 2 days and they gave me a new one. then it was all peachy for a little while untill the known defects popped up. The salesman there kept trying to push me toward the g7 but it was smaller and looked like an s6 with no upgraded components. so to me the same spec with a bigger screen and the headphone capabilities were the better choice of the two especially after coming from the g series

How have your gps and cameras held up? My G6 gps unit is now pretty glitchy and loses track of me all the time which is terrible. And the g6 has a known issue with the non wide angle camera no longer focuses and can only be fixed by replacing the camera

Looking at a new verizon available phone now. Old G6 is dying and had issues early on. Mainly that flaw in the camera where they didn't focus anymore. For me the headphone jack is 100% mandatory. Was considering the v30 because a headphone amp would be nice with my akg q701 and k702 cans that phones just fail to drive, but I can't say i was amped on my latest LG experience though my previous phones and tv have been awesome. Every time I see a phone i maybe like it's missing the damn headphone jack. let the debate commence!

I think I got it to break through I made it to my login screen somehow. I have no idea. I just did the same restore option as the last ten failures definition of insanity style and it worked. I hadn't backed up this week's work though because I've been too lazy to go grab another hard drive and my current one is full
