  1. Hey guys. So I just joined the drop for the massdrop/hifiman HE 4XX collaboration headphones. This is going to be my first pair of planar magnetic cans and I'm pretty excited Currently I have the superlux hd681evo headphones with this mod: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/superluxs-hd681-evo-mod-i-donno-why-this-works-it-just-does.737372/ and I'm running them off the built in amp/dac, they sound good but not as clean as I'd like and they're not very comfortable (My ears are too big and...yeah) so they'll be my point of reference. Anyway do you think i need an amp/dac combo for these headphones? In my mind the amp or amp/dac combo becomes worth it if: 1.There is a perceptible difference in sound quality between it and the built in 2.The cost is under 100$ unless the difference in sound quality is actually pretty big 3.I can buy it here in Poland I'm currently rocking this mobo: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH-Z170-S/ Here's realtek's spec overview for the codec: http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=28&Level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=328 And the headphones in question: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-hifiman-he4xx-planar-magnetic-headphones Thanks for replying
  2. was thinking about those but no easy way to connect them to the monitors and i dont want a million passthroughs.
  3. well thats what i was thinking as well... anyway thanks for the help.
  4. the problem is most of them run integrated and also the ones that dont have some weak gpus in them anyway so will that be able to handle two 4k screens well?
  5. So im looking for a good laptop for dual 4k displays. Work stuff and browser related and such not gaming. Also i would like it to be as subtle as possible as in not ROG and such. Any suggestions?
  6. yeah thats what im waiting for as well, want to see something from someone reputable.
  7. yeah saw that one, but also saw one where the guy barely managed to get 1380 not to mention that that was achieved at the cost of silence... so was that 1420.
  8. yeah im hoping those custom cards will be able to hit between 1400 to 1500 Mhz, if they do and the performance scales well then 480 nitro it is but from the couple of very early reviews i saw on youtube that isnt the case, im not quick to trust them but that just makes me lose faith in the AIB 480's.
  9. well yeah... theoretically but the 1060 manages the 60fps pretty much locked, the 480 not so much. Im starting to think that ill just get whatever i can get first meaning decent AIB cards.
  10. Well anyway i think ill just wait until the 1060 is actually released because now its availible for preorder, if the price drops then ill get that if it doesnt im going 390x.
  11. well i have seen pictures in HDR on my monitor and the same pictures without it taken by me so i know its no BS and you know i actually really like HDR. Also having a nicer image is for me at least better than having more fps, especially if im still hitting 60fps.
  12. well i've seen HDR on a non HDR display(and yes it does work) and i find its a great technology that makes the whole expierience better not some BS like ansel that i will never eeven touch. But still thats the only thing that even keeps the 480 in my mind.
  13. yeah i know but with the BS prices here im not given much of a choice, and unfortunately the 480 is a fair bit slower than a 1060 or 390x, and that may and probably will change over time but the fact remains that this is a card i will use for more or less one year.
  14. yeah thats what i think as well, the main thing for me is the feature sets, and im kinda butthurt that the 390x doesnt support HDR, though neither does the 1060.
  15. also my main games are: WOT. Overwatch, stuff that will run so fast on these GPU's it doesnt matter, and battlefield
