Even If I restore it to stock clocks and changed drivers ( 352 wc3 to 350 gta)
-
I plan to do a complete reformat since Ill have win10 by then. Well I think that the 970 is my perfect gift because of the gpu upgrade(I dont care if its minimal - its free teehee) + I can get a decent cooler. If not, I go SLI 960s instead - which most of you guys already said NO.
-
yep ikr. But since im on a 768p monitor( yes guys kill me now) I wanted to use DSR and I have a problem on VRAM. + I cant max GTA V on 768p because of the 2gb vram limit
-
Yep I considered it. But its a bit too pricey on the side of my aunt and I have a strong feeling that she will say NO. And there are no MSI 970 waterblocks on sale here in the PH
-
I get a DirectX Error and a kernel crash(which some of my friends also experience since the Witcher 3 driver) whenever I change the setting to Fullscreen. I dont experience any artifacting or framerate dipping

I'm going to get a GTX 970 as a graduation gift from my aunt. I want to get the Reference One ( The BESTBUY EXCLUSIVE for $379.99 & its on NEWEGG for $353.99 - IDK why its priced like that).I want to get atleast 1500Mhz on the Core with it. Im OK with 60-80% fanspeed, Im kinda deaf anyway lol Does this GTX 970 has a BIOS lock for overvoltage? because I recently watched paulshardware video and he's using EVGA Precision X. On my Current 960 I was able to set it to 108% Power Draw / 1534Mhz Core / +30Mhz mem with max temps of 66c These Overclocks were on MSI Afterburner, It doesnt allow me to add any more voltage when Unlock Voltage(unofficial overclocking) in Burner's setting - Stuck at 1.212 volts With my said overclocks on my 960 I cant play BF4/GTA V on Fullscreen (fullscreen borderless works fine). And even if I restore it back to default I still cant play on fullscreen. 352 drivers not ok for me so I reverted to 350(GTA V) using DDU and installed a fresh one(luckily I didnt get deleted my old download) So, Can I go for the Reference One? I chose the reference one because 1. It matches my Green/Razer Theme 2. I can watercool it later 3. I can sell it for a higher price here in the PH(Not available for retail here) I'll sell my GTX 960 if I get the 970 and Go buy an H100i / Kraken x61 with the money.

I have an MSI GTX 960 100th ME and I decided to overclock it yesterday and I achieved a +193Mhz core and a +30Mhz Mem Overclock that I was sure that I was stable, I tested it in both Kombustor and Cinebench R15 and I was fine playing DOTA 2 ( I am not yet finished DL-ing other games) Then the launch of WC3 came, following and update with the Game ready driver. with the update I decided to check my max oc( until bsod happens) but first I ran kombustor to check the score again, after 30seconds there was an error of TDR something that kept on popping up but it disappears when I test it on stock clocks. I tried atleast a +100Mhz core / +0mem and it still would pop up. Then I decided to Go for Cinebench, and here were my scores 105.08 fps - stock (WC3 Driver) 104.09 fps- 193/30 (score Before the witcher 3 driver) 100.55 fps - 150/50 (core/mem) 102.03 fps- 160/50 (WC3 Driver) 99.7 fps - 170/50 ( WC3 Driver) 99.63 fps -170/0 (WC3 Driver) Is this a possible issue? I was confident on my previous Overclocks I didnt installed Unigen valley/heaven since It keeps on crashing before finishing the benchmark ( even on stock clocks, even tried it on my previous 270x) As for 3DMark I cant afford it yet.
-
Nope. no crashes or artifacts yet. so I should go up then.
-
I had the cheapest zotac 970 (the small one with the dual fan, not the reference cooler) It runs f*ccking hot with 70c on dota 2 (768p lol) and 80c when playing Bf4 I sold it, went back to my old card.

My MSI GTX 960 100th ME I achieved a +193 increase in my core clock(1534) / +30Mhz On mem(lol) / 108max power limit(thats the max that the slider can do wtf) at a 54% fan speed w/ only 55c max temps Its the onlyFREE gpu benchmark/stress test that I know. I can't test it n games right now because my external HDD died on me ( after backups ) So I need to re-download the games. I used different kinds of tests in kombustor, Is it stable enough based from kombustor? If yes, will I go higher?
