  1. Thank you very much! I'll shop with greater confidence now
  2. I bought this ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING motherboard recently, and some things are not clear to me. About RAM: I was reading the paper manual included inside the box (who does that, i know) and at the " SUPPORTED MEMORY" page it says: "You may install 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB unbuffered DIMMS into the slots." Sooo its not compatible with 32 GB sticks? - which i planned to buy for my memory heavy workload - And i have no idea about that unbuffered-ness... I planned to buy these: "Corsair 64GB KIT DDR4 3200MHZ CL16 Vengeance RGB PRO Black" 4xsticks of this one to be exact, but on the mobo page it says its compatible with the maximum of 128GBs of RAM, which can only be achieved with 32GB sticks, so im lost... Don't want to spend 350 euros on them if the mobo wont even boot. Anyone knows anything about these being compatible or not? About M.2: I planned to buy an M.2 drive, but i cant read anywhere the compatibility range for these :/ I was panning to get this one: Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB M.2 will this one and similiar sized be compatible with the mobo?
  3. Thanks, than I will go with YUV24.
  4. I'm really interested in this and tomorrow I think I will make some benchmarks on MSI's Kombustor and put them in here.
  5. (Sorry if I wrote to the wrong forum, but this was the closest to the theme) So lets say I'm capturing a game in near lossless compression to an SSD. The file after that going to be edited and rendered to H264 which is using YUV12 i think. I dont know much about theese "YUV" colorspaces, but I know RGB is true lossless, YUV is almost lossless and s on. So my capture software can capture in RGB or YUV24 which is definitely going to be compressed into H264's colorspace. So YUV24 is better than H264's colorspace or it stores less information?
  6. But the display cables are still connected to the GTX 650 (even I have the same connection slots on my motherboard).... Wait... so if I connect my cables to the mobo, is it going to be better?
  7. So today I was bored, and I was experimenting on my older machine (I got it for christmas from my parents). I updated the drivers, BIOS, GPU drivers also and so on. After that I started experimenting with setting in the BIOS and I found something really weird. [my older machine: A10 5800K APU, GTX 650 OC 2GB, MSI FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard, 2x4 GB 1333mHz DDR2 ram] As far as I know, it's impossible to make dual graphics with an A10 5800K APU and an nVidia card. BUT!: When I saw it I thought it's just a bug or something, it can't work... but when I started a game.. my jaw hit the floor. Watch this: ONLY gtx 650 OC 2GB: (overclocked +200 MHZ to core and clock): Metro 2033: DX11, 1600x900px, no advanced DOF; tescell. on; AAA; AF 4x; High preset, - around 23 fps Dual graphics enabled in BIOS with applied overclocking to GTX 650 Metro 2033: DX11, 1600x900px, advanced DOF ENABLED; tescell on, AAA, AF 4x, VERY HIGH preset - around 32-35 FPS I tried other games too, like witcher 2, where I didnt changed the settings (mid-high - 1080p), and I can feel the difference, it's much smoother... And other less demanding games like Sniper Elite V2, where the game get incredibly smooth, stable 60 fps even with game recording software on. So WTF? Have you any idea what happened? The APU itself can"t run theese games (on theese settings) even on 10 FPS, so what, is this really working?
  8. Im not sure, if Im writing in the right forum, because these fans would be fit on a 360mm radiator, but now we are talking literally about the aircooling part B) . So on the first place they have to be quiet, because the computer is in my bedroom, and I cant tolerate a jetflow - even if its on the other side of my room. Price range? Its hard question because I need totally 6 of theese fans on 2 pieces of 360mm rad, so I cant spend more than 60-80€ for them all... IMPORTANT - I have a fan controller (bitfenix recon) <Link> with 5 fan headers, each 10w max. (I surely have to buy Y fan cables also...) For now I liked the Corsair High Perf. series, because they look powerful, and at night I can switch them to a slower RPM. Many others recommended me Gentle Typhoon fans, they also looks great on the benchmarks, and finally I have found thoose Noiseblocker black silent pros, which were recommended me on this site. So I need 6 fans totally, around 60-80€ max... A bit of contemplation: At night the computer will be rendering on FX 8320 CPU (overclocked) which has 125W+overclock so around 150W of heat, and the graphics cards wont work on anything, so the only heat source is the CPU. I think it wont be any problem to cool down that with 6 fans on lower RPM? And at day, when im playing, fans can go bit louder, because I wont hear them while Im playing lets say BF3-4
  9. So, (Im a noob in watercooling) I'll be using the cooler masters HAF stackable case - 935, where in the main unit I will have my system, and in the 915R Im going to place my radiators. There is room for two 360mm rads, so I think, Im not going to waste the space... So the question is how strong pump do I need, if I will have theese objects in my custom loop: 1. A simple reservoir (a small question - how big reservoir do I need in "ml" - is 100ml enough? ) 2. The PUMP 3. The CPU Block 4. GTX 650 (dedicated Physx card) 5-6. 2pcs of SLI-d GTX760 7. First 360mm radiator 8. Second 360mm radiator 9 - probably i may mount some additional rads into my case if its going to be neccesary, because of the overclock.... so for 9. - 240mm radiator --> and back to 1. At the moment I would order this pump: <Link> And this reservoir: <Link> I plan to use theese fans for the rads: <Link> - all in PULL config. I plan to use 10/8mm tubes - are they good?
  10. I was watching almost only corsair cases, not just because they look cool, but looks like they are using quality materials. Ive seen only thoose cheep fractal cases, but they were awful... But this looks really good for me... maybe a +1 day in work will worth to buy this.
  11. Maybe a bit expensive, but it definitely looks cool... thanks for the reply !
  12. So I want to buy a new case maximally for about 100$ (Im searching for weeks and still nothing) Criterias: At least 4 pcs of 5.25" bay drive places. (And i would really like 1 pc of a 3,5" bay drive place) HDD cage (dont have to be removable - i wont remove it) with space at least for 4 normal and 2 SSD's Cooling: Front: anything useful, like 2x120mm fan place or 2x140mm fan place Bottom: ayithing useful, like 120/140 or 2x120mm fan place Rear: 120mm radiator place Top: 240mm radiator place (2x120mm fans) - or 280mm radiator place (2x140mm) It may be a silent case, but i would really appreciate a side window - because i mount lights and everithing and its pointless if I dont have a side window. (I dont need fan places at the side) Other: PSU mount to the bottom, ATX mobo suppor.
  13. Firstly, thanks guys for your responses (and sorry for my bad english). Secondly - the currency of the linked drive is in Chech korunes which corrensponds to around 50$ (1000 czech korunes equal to 30€) At the moment I'm just planning my new computer, and if you suggest, Im going to buy 2 SSD's, one for the system, and one for recording. Recording in 1080p really produces huge file sizes, but I will work with just 10-20 minutes of it, hmmm how big is that? 1920x1080x3x32=199,0656 Mb for 1 sec, so x60x20 its around 238,9 GB. While at the moment I have Raid 0 with two drives, and I dont like it, maybe my drives are bad or something, because sometimes it says CRC errors, or drives not responding at all... (in task manager they are at 100% load, while 0kb/s writing and reading speed!?) I dont know, maybe I throw my current HDD setup to a trash can, and buy another cheap RAID 0 setup for 40-40€ ? What about that? I wouldnt like to spend over 80€ (100$) if its possible.
  14. I need a hard drive with at least a 230-250 mbyte/s writing speed. If I buy something like this: Link (in description says, its able to write with max 300 mb/s) So will I be able to write with 230-250mb/s? I have doubts... Im going to use it for uncompressed capure in 1080p (at least) so thats why I need that crazy speed. I need at least 250GB space and SSD's arent really cheap at that size, and usually behind that size, there are only 512 GB SSD's... So what's your idea? (I would not like to go into RAID 0 because my case is already full of drives) [it dont have to be an 2,5" drive...]
