  1. Anyone else have any ideas? If they have any exact confirmation
  2. Hey everyone, being the clutz that I am I managed to sit on my girlfriends laptop, and crack her laptop screen, she has a touch-screen laptop, HP Envy TouchSmart 15, I've found the part no. for the screen, and there is a non-touch version available. When she went to her local computer store they quoted her $500 for the repair, and when I looked up the price of the display it was about $400 for the touch screen, and only about $80 for the non-touch screen, they also told her that the non-touch screen version wouldn't work on her computer, and that it would conflict. I believe this to be false. But there is some doubt in my mind and I'm wondering if any of you have any idea as to whether we can just install the non-touch version. Thanks.
  3. Also, I changed the CPU ratio setting from fixed to dynamic, and according to CPU-Z my cpu is still running at 4.4GHz all the time, is it safe for the cpu to be running at that speed all of the time?
  4. I did 10 tests with IBT, and it went up to 95*C for each test, is there something wrong with my CPU, or is that expected from IBT? my PC didn't blue screen throughout the test and it was fine.
  5. I just started overclocking my cpu, and im running a Prime95 stress test on the cpu now, it's a i5 4670k, cooled by a corsair h100i running in pull. I'm getting about 77*C for the temps, and I was wondering if this is a suitable temperature. I've got it running at 4.4GHz, and I made the CPU core voltage 1.2v in my motherboard on adaptive mode, I noticed the voltage is going slightly higher, and im wondering if this voltage is too high, or if it is normal for it to go slightly over. I've attached a screen shot of the stress test + cpu-z with temps as well. If anyone has any suggestions on how i could overclock my cpu better, or a better way to reduce voltage please let me know I'm running a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Mobo. Thanks.
  6. Hey forum, I have an old WD Black 1TB HDD that I used in my old computer, I sold that computer to a friend, and he was showing me problems how it would freeze every now and then for a couple of seconds, the mouse would work, but all programs wouldn't respond, including explorer, it would fix itself after 15 or so seconds. It also would freeze entirely every now and then where the mouse wouldn't move and then you would have to reboot the computer, if anyone has any ideas as to what this problem could be please let me know.
  7. I understand some of the parts I chose are a bit overkill, but I wanted to have parts that succeeded my current 2.5 year old laptop, it has 8GB of RAM for example. I just wanted to feel like I was making an upgrade, and not just buying another PC.
  8. Nah I won't send it back, I don't feel like waiting another week and a half for it to get there, then a couple days for processing, and another week and a half for the card to get to me, it's too much trouble.
  9. The RM750 and RM850 don't seem that bad compared to the 650 and 550, it seems that those two had problems seeing as they are made differently.
  10. I wanted to subsidise money so that I could get a new monitor, playing on a 1440x900 19" monitor that doesnt have hdmi is never fun. That is why I got the i5 instead of an i7, and thats why I got a 770 instead of 780, because the price difference was about $200
  11. I probably should have came here before I ordered my pc, but after a fairly large amount of time researching and compiling thoughts and information, then refining my choices once again. I have settled on a build that I think is relatively good value, and would be classes in the 'higher' end of gaming PC's. The parts that I have ordered are as follows: Intel Core i5 4670k CPU Corsair H100i CPU Cooler Corsair RM750 PSU Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, 2x8GB Kit NZXT H440 Blk & Red Case BenQ RL2455HM 24" Gaming Monitor MSi Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard GTX 770, ASUS DirectCU II Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD Corsair AF140 Red LED Fan Spare Parts I'm going to use from home: + 1x WD Green 1TB + 1x WD Black 1TB If anyone has any critiques or just commendations about my build please let me know
  12. Hi everyone, I recently just ordered my new pc, and it's my first time building a desktop in 4 years, it is also my first time buying a graphics card with 2 power connectors, an 6+2, and 6 pin, I ordered the Corsair RM-750 PSU, and I was wondering if it is not damaging to the power supply and the graphics card if i plug both of the connectors off the same lead, or will I have to plug in 2 different sata connectors to my power supply, and run the power off of seperate leads? Thanks.
  13. This may seem like a dumb question to a lot of you, but I recently just ordered parts to build my new PC, and I ordered a h100i to cool my CPU. I was wondering, does the liquid actually travel through the fins, or does the fins just disperse the heat to the sides of the radiator?
