  1. Well the way it worked out was I already had a 120 gb and 250 gb in my rig but I was buying parts for my gf and it came down to the SSD I was gonna buy for her rig and I just bought another 250 for me and gave her the existing 120....now lets see how long it takes her to notice.... MUHAHAHA!
  2. Mine wont actually make an image of the system like many other backup solutions. My main concern is just having multiple backups of my files that are stored on the drives. Which include a crap ton of movies, tv shows, house backups, and a whole bunch of other important files. So I use it more like an automated copy and paste into a set of backup drives. But this is done on an incremental basis so I have one full copy and paste and then a copy and paste every other day of what has been added/changed.
  3. Finally got around to my first SSD array and so far pretty impressed. Can't tell too much of a difference in just everyday use yet but it is slightly snappier and a much better amount of storage than just a single drive I had before. I have 2 250 gb samsung evos in raid 0 and heres a snap from crystal. Now I'm looking for a better backup solution for this array since it is a raid 0 and that just makes me worry a bit even with the general reliability of SSDs. I was previously using Acronis and wasn't too wowed and on my server I'm using Iperius because I sure as hell am not paying $9371365134164 for server grade backup software that is just server branded.
  4. Wow that was so much simpler than I thought it was gonna be. Thank you for companies that take apart all these cards and check compatibility! So nickel version or copper? I know copper has better heat transfer but there was something mentioned about corrosion when mixing metals in a loop...right?
  5. Well eventually I'll be getting my custom loop ready so I wanna make sure I have a good card that has a bunch of waterblock support...unlike my two MSI 660 tis that have no waterblocks for them
  6. So if i were to buy this beast of a card... http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-384-Bit-Graphics-06G-P4-3787-KR/dp/B00K699CRW Could someone point me in the direction of a compatible water block. I wanna make sure that those extra 3 gigs of vram are cooled properly along with the rest of the card.
  7. I was testing out a new backup service to S3 and stopped the backup midway thru just because it was just testing for deployment at work but now I have a couple folders on my desktop that aren't able to be deleted or moved. I receive a file no longer found error when I try to do either of those actions. I've tried deleting them thru cmd as well and just comes back with a file not specified/found error. Also have tried rmdir /q /s "Foldername" and same issue. Its not a huge deal but my desktop is already cluttered enough so I would love if someone had another solution as google didn't bring up anything that I hadn't already tried. I am under the admin account and when I right click properties and go to security it states that requested info is not available. Even though I am the only user on this machine and I am admin. Thanks
  8. I get TERRIBLE stuttering when trying to drive at high speeds. Basically anything at high speed is terrible and unplayable. 3570k @4.2 and 2 msi 660ti pe in sli. Makes me believe that it really is vram optimization because going thru the city at high speeds calls for textures and shadows to be loaded into vram much more often and I do get pop in as it stutters.
  9. I get terrible stuttering when driving around on high/medium settings. I drop from 75 to 5 for all the time and makes driving impossible. If your not driving then it's pretty manageable. 3570k @4.2 and 2 msi 660ti pe in sli. I've heard others have had the same issue. And I noticed that my cpu is pretty much pinned at 100% the whole game. Just like arma 3 does to my cpu
  10. Nope its rapid. Since rapid uses part of your system memory as cache for the drive any synthetic test will also use the drive and system memory as cache. Its crazy fast because ram is crazy fast. I would get even better results with rapid if I had 2133 mhz memory or higher. Right now I'm using 1600 mhz
  11. Oh perfect timing! I was just about to reboot with it off haha. Yea that makes sense. It freaked me out at first but I knew it was too good to be true
  12. Ugh...that requires effort haha Yea I'm doing that right now
  13. I have ONE 120 Gb Samsung Evo as a boot drive and I was just running crystal for giggles and go these results that seem like there is something greatly skewing the results. I ran the performance test in Samsung's magician software and received similar results that just don't make sense. The only thing I have thought of is that I do have rapid mode enabled however I would have expected that Samsung compensate or state that this might skew tests in their own software. Thoughts?
  14. I was just going to use the on board controller on my Z77-UD3H. But I might look at a dedicated controller if I wanted more than 2 drives. I was looking at 2 250GB drives since if I recall Z77 sata controllers only have 2 sata 6gb/s ports.
  15. Looking at getting a few more Evos for a raid 0 array in my rig but I was wondering if anyone running a Raid 0 array with samsung drives could tell me if samsungs features from their magician and migration software still work even in raid 0 Also, does trim work with a raid 0 array? Thanks
