  1. Totally forgot to post an update.... Oops So I tried the running from a USB Drive, seemed to have fixed the problem. I got a new SSD and my problem seems to have been fixed! I did try running it directly to the router first before switching boot drives and that didn't help.. But anyways I am glad I got it fixed and I will definitely make sure I never use that old drive for anything else ever again.... lol
  2. Hey Captain_WD Thanks for the reply! I'm using openmediavault, I thought I had mentioned that... Oops. It appears that the system just hangs instantly, no gradual speed decrease. The NAS is currently connected to a switch, it could be connected directly to the router if need be. The network itself is just a small home network, the switch has connections going to all the rooms. I'm not great with all these S.M.A.R.T. values, and I apparently didn't have it enabled on the SSD (I did enable it now). It was enabled for my other 3 drives and everything seems healthy I think... I'll definitely try booting from USB and see if that fixes it
  3. I am fairly new to managing a NAS so my experience might be lacking. I built my own NAS, here are my specs 3 WD Red 3TB in RAID 5 60gb OCZ Vertex 2 SSD Boot Drive AMD Sempron Dual Core 1.4GHz MSI AM1I Mini ITX Motherboard 2x4GB RAM (Can't quite remember specs) Every so often when I am writing to the NAS it will just become completely non responsive. It is still physically running and I have to manually restart the system and everything works again. This only seems to happen when I am writing files bigger than 10GB (Not one file, but even a folder of files adding up to that). So I start copying 50GB of data.. it will most likely happen, but if I split those into 5 10GB transfers it will be less likely. I have tried looking into system logs and I haven't been able to see anything. My thoughts were that maybe my boot SSD might be bad? That SSD is pretty old and I have definitely had issues with it in previous systems. Other than that I can't really see any other issues, unless my CPU isn't adequate enough. Thanks in advance!

  5. Does the GTX 750 Ti have HDMI 2.0 support? From what I could see I saw that only the 900 series has it, but I read that maxwell cards have HDMI 2.0? So does the 750 Ti have it? Thanks in advance!
  6. So I was messing around and I apparently had my 2nd monitor using the integrated graphics, so I switched it to my GPU and... it looks like my weird FPS issue has come back... When my 2nd monitor has chrome open or a video running, my game has that weird FPS issue. (Where my FPS will be 100, but look like 10 FPS.. if I minimize or close everything on the 2nd monitor FPS looks normal yet it didn't actually changed and was still at 100) So... If using GPU for both monitors, no soundcard, lame FPS issues if using GPU for one, Integrated for 2nd monitor, no soundcard, good FPS If using GPU for one, Integrated for 2nd monitor, with soundcard, lame FPS issues So why does it feel like my GPU is choking on some type of bandwidth issue?
  7. System Specs i7 4790k MSI 780ti MSI z97 Gaming 7 Mobo 750w PSU 250 SSD + 3TB HDD Windows 7 Custom Water cooled loop I made a post awhile back mentioning that my FPS feels lower than it should when it's under stress, but FPS counters still said 60+. So after browsing around and reading various things, I read that the hashwell CPUs only allow up to 16 PCIE Lanes, which would mean my sound card that was running at x1 was making my GPU run at x8? So as of recently, I took out my soundcard and it looks like my FPS issues are all gone! So now I am curious.... can someone explain how PCIE Lanes work? I read that that the CPU that I have has access to 16 lanes, but the chipset itself has access to 22, so is it possible to have my soundcard and my GPU running at 16 lanes? Thanks in advance!
  8. I hoping I could solve this issue so I wouldn't have to do that, I'm sure there's a solution somewhere....
  9. So I tried my luck with google, but I haven't found anyone with a similar problem. I'm probably searching the wrong terms, so here I am trying my luck here! Some general info: 4790k MSI Gaming 780 TI z97 MSI Gaming 7 Samsung EVO 256GB 2 Monitor setup I have a custom water cooling loop So now to explain my issue! If I play any game and I have certain programs (usually just chrome) open on the other monitor, my FPS dies sorta. By sorta I mean my 80+ FPS all of sudden looks like 20, but everything else says it's still 80. I can solve this issue by either minimizing chrome or playing the game in fullscreen (I typically play in borderless). I'm not really sure where to point this issue to... but I hope someone here has some good advice for me! Thanks in advance!
  10. I looked at some videos it appears I am doing it correctly, I thought maybe the o-ring was different for that top, but the one I had originally and the one that came with the pump top are the same. I can easily put the pump back into the res combo fine. If I try to use the new pump top and when I screw everything in, I can still move the pump. This feels like a puzzle I can't seem to solve...
  11. So I originally bought a few months ago http://www.frozencpu.com/products/21022/ex-pmp-251/EK_D5_X-RES_Top_100_w_D5_Vario_Pump_EK-D5_Vario_X-RES_100_incl_pump.html?id=YkFLmqch&mv_pc=218 and now I got http://www.frozencpu.com/products/17667/ex-pmp-222/EK_D5_X-Top_Acrylic_Pump_Top_CSQ_-_Laing_D5_and_Swiftech_MCP-650655_EK-XTOP_D5_CSQ_-_Plexi.html?id=YkFLmqch&mv_pc=165 So my plan was to have a separate res and pump, except the pump from the original res/pump combo doesn't seem to fit with the new pump top I got. My original thought was... I bought the wrong top for that pump, but after looking around I'm pretty sure the 2 together are supposed to work. So to explain how it doesn't fit..... I put the o-ring on the pump and put the pump top on, seems to fit. Once I put the bottom cover on, I notice the pump has space to move even though the 2 pieces are together. Looking at the new pump top compared to the res combo top, I noticed the new top has a slightly different/extra "cut" for lack of a better work that gives that extra gap that allows the pump to move. Old http://i.imgur.com/rl3ahaV.jpg New http://i.imgur.com/NXveiZm.jpg Hopefully it's not too hard to see the extra "cut" that I'm talking about. If this really is not compatible, then that mans I have to buy a new separate pump? Because it looks like EK only has one type of D5 Top. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  12. I wasn't removing it to install a rad, I was removing it mostly because I felt like it was in the way and not really needed. Thanks for the info though
  13. The hard drive bays have slide onto the wall (the cover I want to remove). I don't have any hard drives there because I have a 360 rad there instead. So I was thinking about just removing that cover. I've read about people removing them, but I'm not sure how I should go about doing that.
