  1. I know that there has been a lot of people speculating when the release of the next 11 series will be, whether it will be soon or a long time from now, nobody really knows at the minute. So i thought i would ask for some advice from the best PC community around as to whether it's worth me investing in the current architecture or wait until the next one. Also if i was to upgrade what would be the cheapest one whilst giving me a noticeable increase in performance for the purchase to be worth it. Thanks guys!
  2. Hi guys So I've been looking into building myself a mini itx system that I can take to LAN events, and I found the 380t.... however it's end of life here in the UK but not the US, does anyone know why? Thanks!
  3. Hi guys So I've been thinking about building a rig for taking to LAN events and to leave at home (I'm at uni) and can't decide on what case to use for it, it would need to be as portable as possible whilst also being able to house a full sized GPU. Not sure whether aircooling would be possible at such a small form factor, I would prefer if the case could support it however. Thanks!!
  4. Hi guys So recently I've noticed a weird issue with my pc, that after I close any game, it seems to just be really laggy, the mouse seems to jump around or have massive input lag instead of being smooth and also text when typing seems be late. Even audio on Discord seems to mess up, both my microphone and other my speakers seem to have a weird laggy static behind them, whereas when the game is open I have no such problems. Does anyone have any ideas behind what this could be? Thanks!
  5. If you're getting them for the same price then I don't see any reason to get the 7500 over the 4790.
  6. I'm in the same position as the OP on both of these monitors, from what I've found out, both monitors have the same panels so you could essentially get the same image quality from both monitors. ASUS seem to have problems with QC in that they seem to have bad BLB in comparison to the ACER, it's all over the internet. Are you looking for anything other than 1440p? IPS? G-Sync?
  7. They all sound pretty similar then tbh apart from the branding and the overall design, how has G sync been on the AOC? I've never seen it first hand, so would like to know how the jump from non g sync to g sync was.
  8. I actually saw the AOC today in PC World, it seemed like a decent monitor, how is it for gaming and is the qc any good on them?
  9. Hi guys So i recently ordered a Samsung S27D850T and well it had a clump of dead pixels, so i returned it and got another one back.. again, more dead pixels so ive now thought long and hard about it and said f**k it, i'm going to go out and get a better one, so, i've come to the conclusion of either the ACER XB271HU or the ASUS PG279Q. And im having a real tough time deciding between the two. Anybody got any insight that could help me with my purchase? Thanks!!
  10. I may have to do what you recommended which was to just get a 1440p 144hz monitor now, whichever I find the most suitable, and then just wait it out for the newer GPU's to really make it shine I'm sure that i'll still have a good time on it on a 970, it can currently push just over 150fps at 1440p at LOW settings on Overwatch which idm really and it can get just over 60 on a few games but not all, and most have to be lowered to about high or medium to make it over 60. Either way i can get the best of both worlds and then just wait for the new beasts to come out and then just save my hard earned money and splash
  11. Thanks for such a detailed response!! The monitor I was planning on getting was the MG279Q, which looks pretty similar to the one you've linked but with added £££. My plan was for when I play games like Overwatch or CS that I would lower the settings if needed to hit the 144hz, and then any other games like Witcher 3 etc, just be happy to get over 60 because I'm happy with that now and I don't really need the 144hz for games that aren't fast paced competitive ones. Do you have a 144hz monitor? And do you notice the difference between 144fps and 60fps on it?
  12. It's either a buy the 1070 now, or wait atleast another 4 - 5 months to see if the 1080ti or Vega drop the prices.
  13. the 144hz would be for Overwatch and CS:GO. I'd be trying to play all other games at atleast 60 at 1440p like Witcher etc.
  14. Hi guys So I'm thinking about upgrading my current GTX 970 to a GTX 1070 for my 1440p monitor, (my current one has a dead pixel and thinking about upgrading to a 1440p 144hz (The 144hz would be mainly for games like counter strike and Overwatch, etc. and any other games that are more demanding, eg Witcher 3 I would be happy with 60fps)) And with the current 1440p I've started to notice that the 970 is struggling, even crashing in games like Modded Skyrim. Would a 1070 be a good upgrade for 1440p or would the difference be minimal meaning that a 1080 would be the better option? Thanks guys!!
  15. But... and its a big but, is it worth the extra £230?
  16. I can manage 60 fps at 1440p on my 970 max apart from a couple of settings (dips do happen occasionally). Would there be an issue at getting lower fps than the monitors refresh rate? Or would it be the same as a 60hz monitor?
  17. It's more for games like overwatch etc, and then when i play games like witcher to cap it at 60fps if thats even possible? (I'm also thinking about getting a 1070 at some point, or a 1080 if they drop when/if the 1080ti comes out)
  18. Ah ok, i read somewhere that it would have terrible tearing or something below the 144hz?
  19. Hi guys So i've been looking into the ASUS MG279Q to replace my old 1080p monitor, and was wondering whether or not it would be a problem that I have a GTX 970 and not an AMD card, i know it will physically work with it, but I don't know whether or not it will be a terrible experience due to freesync? Would it also be a good idea to save up for the PG279Q or is it just a waste of money to just have G-Sync ontop? Thanks!!
  20. Hi guys So i recently treated myself to a brand new Samsung S27d850t and well... my experience hasnt been great, the first one i got had dead pixels in the bottom right. So naturally i sent it back and got another sent straight back to me... this also had dead pixels, worse than the first one, so now i'm stuck, I don't want to send it back and just have another repeated scenario, so i'm going to change brand. Should i get the ASUS PB278QR or do i get the Dell U2715H? The ASUS being £10 more and the Dell being £90 more. Thanks!!!
  21. That seems like the opinion of the majority, its just the odd person saying that 25 inch is better for gaming, due to ppi or something so i thought i would be better of asking some people.
  22. This post is sort of a carry on from my previous where i asked about peoples opinions on two specific monitors. So i'm finally moving upto 1440p from gaming at 1080p for the last god knows how many years. And I'm not quite sure whether I should get a 25 inch or a 27 inch monitor. It will be mainly used for gaming, but also for the odd piece of word processing for Uni etc. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks guys!!
  23. Yer that's understandable, a friend of mine had the Cryorig R1 Ultimate and it was competing quite well with my NH-D15, and it admittedly does look alot more aesthetically pleasing
  24. Why not go Noctua NH-D15? If it's the colour of the fans that put you off then I can assure you that every LAN event that i've been too, i've never had someone say, EUGH THOSE FANS ARE HORRID, they know who Noctua are and can appreciate them. I've got one on my current rig and runs ridiculously cool.
  25. That monitor was actually on my list, i completely forgot about it thanks though man, that's another one to throw into the mix
