  1. It sure does help a lot understanding it all! Thanks a lot, sire. Another question, what if I go with a single stick of Ram instead of two of 8GB ones? Because for some reason, the single stick is a bit cheaper than the pack of two 8's So is there any benefit to going with the two sticks?
  2. Thanks for you help! Under the budget that I've set, the parts you mentioned, might not be possible exactly, like the Z370-E is expensive so I'm thinking that I should go with Asus Prime Z370-A instead? For the RAM, how does this one seem? https://www.amazon.in/dp/B015FY3BJ2/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=cd818f9c-142a-4b42-ad2c-f0421857aaf5&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0143UM4TC&pf_rd_m=A1VBAL9TL5WCBF&pf_rd_r=YJXDWD58J1QS1AS3FAT9&pf_rd_r=YJXDWD58J1QS1AS3FAT9&pf_rd_p=cd818f9c-142a-4b42-ad2c-f0421857aaf5 And now for the PSU, the EVGA ones weren't something I could find in here, so what about this one? - https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/cooler-master-storm-edition-gx750-rs-750-acaa-b3-power-supply/ or https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/corsair-rm650x-650w-fully-modular-power-supply-cp-9020091-uk/ or https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/cooler-master-v750-750w-modular-power-supply-rs750-afbag1-uk/ My question when choosing PSU is, what actually do I need? If I'm going to go with the specs above + keeping in mind that I'm going to upgrade to a new GPU next year, The upcoming NVIDIA Volta GPUs, whatever the flagship may be in place of 1080Ti, I want to know if the PSU will be sufficient for it? If my CX600W would be sufficient for the specs, I wouldn't think about upgrading the PSU then but I highly doubt it since people have been asking me to upgrade the PSU or giving me shit for choosing this one in first place, they all made it seem like I need RM850 or higher. I really don't know how the PSU thing too much so I always get confused if I'm making the right choice or not. Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully you'll help me clear out the doubts. The budget so far exceeds 65000 and goes up to 71500 but I think I'll have to collect some more if I need a new PSU. I don't want to go with anything less than 8700K or the mentioned RAM (at least 3000MHz) and the one I found was 3200 MHz for lesser price than most of the 3000MHz ones. I could try and look for an even cheaper motherboard if that doesn't affect anything. The PRIME Z370-A is about 16,500 Rs. here, if I get something else like Asus Z370-P then it would cost about 12500 or so.
  3. The list does look cool enough but I'll surely go with Intel Core i7 8700K if I'm upgrading my CPU, I don't want to cut any corners there. And because next year, I do think that in the mid 2018 or by the end of it, I'll be upgrading my GPU, I imagine it's better if I just upgrade my PSU as well now? So with me just needing a good Motherboard, RAM and PSU to go for, I think it'll be great with that, and then I'll try and resell my parts that I won't use, soon enough when I find any buyer. So what would you suggest me for these mentioned parts?
  4. Hello! Thanks for you reply and I agree, that's why I thought I should ask more people about the opinion because it just didn't fit well with me that I should totally abandon Intel and not consider it this time as told by the guy. What I want out of my PC is both gaming and to handle workload such as rendering 3D Models/Sculpts/Texturing work that I do. I don't have any reason to switch to anything more than 1080P, I forgot to mention that my monitor is Dell S2240L, a 21.5" 1080p IPS Screen and I'm happy with it still. I'm not going 1440p or 4K for quite some time. That's why I stuck with GTX 780 all this while. My budget would be about 65-67k in Rs. so that's around 1000 in USD. The websites that I prefer using to order parts : www.primeabgb.com www.mdcomputers.in www.vedantcomputers.com Anything found on these sites for me would be great. There's Amazon.in as well but typically prices there are way high than the websites I mentioned above.
  5. So recently I've been dealing with temperature issues with my CPU and as suggested on the forums here, it is most likely the issue with TIM and I may have to delid the CPU, Which is very risky and for some reason I can't find the tools here in India to do that, I'll have to take it to the repair store and see. But on a second thought, I'm more considering that I should be upgrading my PC right now. My current specs : Processor : Intel Core i7-4770K Motherboard : Asus Z97-A RAM : HyperX 8GB DDR3 (x2) PSU : Corsair CX600W GPU : Asus GTX 780 DC II OC Cooler : Corsair GTX H100i Chassis : CoolerMaster CM690 III Now I want to keep my Cooler as I don't think there's any problem with that, the pump seems cool enough and it's working just fine so far. I'll keep my graphics card for now and also the chassis, I don' think I need to upgrade those for now. What I want to upgrade is the CPU so it's obvious I'll need a new Motherboard + DDR4 RAM + PSU Which is why I seek help from you guys, I'm not much into tech to know which one would be best for me, my daily use of PC is for 3D Modeling studies and gaming. I sculpt and model characters, or well, at least learning to, for now. Studying online. I game in my free time and keep myself up to date with the big titles that come out, so I'm not using it for Minecraft. I would like to upgrade my GPU sometime next year, I'll be running with GTX 780 for now. So I was suggested by some guy in my area that I should go with : + Ryzen 1700 + Asus B350 + 16 GB DDR4 And for the PSU, I considered + Corsair RM850 The cost estimated roughly will come around to 65000 Rs. that translates to about 1000 US Dollars. I initially wanted and still have my heart set on Intel's new Core i7 8700K but the dude told me that I shouldn't go with an Intel setup this time, I don't know the reasons he just told me that it would be better to go with Ryzen for my needs. So I need the help of you people. My important question would be : Ryzen or Coffeelake? According to what's suggested, please let me know the setup I should run with to upgrade (CPU + Motherboard + RAM + PSU) EDIT : I learned that if I go with Ryzen, I will need an AM4 Upgrade kit for my GTX H100i Cooler, is there any upgrade kit required if I go with Cofffeelake? Thank you!
  6. I think I'm going to take my CPU to this computer repairing store nearby and have the guy do it for me. I think I'll take my CoolerMaster's Thermal Paste for that with me to replace TIM? Or am I supposed to use any different thermal paste for that one? For now I have Arctic Silver 5 an CM MasterGel Maker. Idk which one to choose
  7. Jesus, I just saw a thread about it and it does seem too risky, I don't think I can do it and I don't know where to find the proper tools. Oh man by the way, do you happen to know what method is the best for CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker (Nano)? Maybe I should give it one last go with a proper method, they do recommend spreading but that always ends up being gross than it should be.
  8. Damn, I never knew about any of that, what's the solution to this? Is that another part where I have to put the paste?
  9. It's sucking the air in from outside, from the top of the cabinet. And the TIM being one of the top ones, I just dont know what I've done wrong. I'm trying my best to not put too much or too little and I think the size is fine but then I don't know.
  10. Hello everyone! So I am really getting frustrated with my CPU and its temperature rising for some reason, I have found out about the problem about a month ago when my PC once shut down as I was playing PUBG with friends I start it back up and check my CPU/GPU temperature and I find that my CPU's idle temp was about 42-50 Degrees. So I knew I had to change the thermal paste, and I didn't do much research to see which one was the best thermal paste at the time so I bought Arctic Silver 5, I know that it's an old product now and there are better choices. I got it and applied it on my CPU... First I tried Pea/Dot method : Temperature gone down to about 37 degrees (Celsius) and I thought I could work with that, now I knew there was some burn in process required so I let it be for a few days, the next day, however, instead of remaining or improving, it went back to 42+ degrees again. So I waited a couple of days and checked, it didn't fix. I then changed the paste again, this time I tried the Line method as I found it out that it's recommended on their website. Same story : Initially the temperature was low then it went back up in a day. I tried once again, and it was still the same for me. So I thought maybe I was fooled, even though the tube looked genuine, I thought I got a fake product or something. This time I did more research and found out that CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker was the top product so I ordered that! Now yesterday I applied it with its recommended "spread" method and the temperature is about 40 - 50 on idle still Today, I applied with the Pea/Dot method and the temperature went down to 36 and then again rose up. I'm really getting frustrated with this, I'm no expert but I believe I didn't put too little or too much. But I don't know. (Stress test puts it up to 82 degrees right now) Now I would really like for someone to help me out with this. I'd like to try it once more with a better method, if I'm screwing it up. I'd like to know for this particular thermal paste, what method is best suited? (CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker) If it's the spread method (which is something I dislike) or if it's dot method that suits the best or if it's the line method that I should try. Or if you think this is some other problem. I'd like to point out that my cooler is about almost 2 years old, though it doesn't show any sign of problems with it, the pump seems cool enough, I just think that the heat isn't being transferred all that well maybe. This is what I'm working with: Intel Core i7 4770K Corsair GTX H100i Liquid Cooler CoolerMaster CM 690 III Cabinet No extra fans in the chassis though.
  11. Hello everyone! Just to update this thread on the situation, my situation has been fixed for now, it's been about 2 weeks and I haven't had any lag, it's because I told my ISP that day about the "packet loss" issue. Luckily, the guy understood that there was some kind of congestion in the backend server somewhere outside of my town, and as he said that it'll be fixed soon, it did. Though he lied about working on it for quite some time before I complained but that doesn't matter as long as it's resolved haha. Thanks to everyone of you! To take your time and try to enlighten me on the issue so that I could explain everything better and this made the guy seemed like I knew a lot about the technical stuff so I think that may have played a part in him acknowledging my issue and try to fix it.
  12. I remember trying to find an updated firmware for the model a while back but I didn't find any, that was the time when I learned that Huawei discontinued this product, so there's no official page that I could find on their website anymore. I don't know what my ISP changed with their network but maybe you are right, it's just that the guy won't tell me straight up about it, so far, he did understand the problem of me having the packet loss issue, so he said this/along the line, "I have escalated the issue with the other guys to fix the speed issue, that should resolve it" And idk why he said the speed issue when it's the packet loss thing, because my speed is fine, so I repeated that I have the lag issue, not the one with speed but he said that it will fix the packet loss as well. What was annoying to me is that he said he "knew" about the issue so he has been working on it for quite some time but this issue is about a month old now and I doubt there's any truth to him working on it prior to me complaining today. Hopefully something happens and it gets resolved or I'll have to call him a few more times, if by then it doesn't get resolved then I'm escalating this one with the general manager of the ISP here, if all else fails at the end of the day, I'll have to change towns in the end, I can't live with this.
  13. I've gone through the settings, there's so many settings that is out of my understanding to fix if there is something to fix at all.. but I doubt that, since it worked before for months with the same settings, I wouldn't know why that would be an issue now all of a sudden.
  14. The modem/router I have is Huawei's Echolife HG850a
  15. I talked to the guy, he says he's looking into it and escalated it with someone else, I guess I'll have to wait for a couple of days before I could complain again. Oh well this is really annoying. I talked about the sharing thing and he says it isn't the issue, that's all he said. But I'll bring it up again next time I talk to him because I know it's not likely to be solved so quickly, I'll have to call them multiple times so that they will pay attention to it.
  16. So I did it as you asked and found out that right when my game lagged, the ping to my default gateway didn't stop so there was no lag there but pinging to 8.8.8.8 did stop. Resulting in 4% packet loss However, I also had running another window as I pinged Google and there was even more packet loss with that, before the lag appeared, resulting in 14% loss.
  17. I'll try and that be sure to update the thread with that one as well in the morning, thank you, sire!
  18. I don't know about the wireshack thing but I have tried pinging 8.8.8.8 this morning with my cmd and I remember that there were 2 packets lost out of 20 once and then one packet loss on a second try. Resulting in 5% and 10% packet loss at that time, however, after that, and right now, there's 0% packet loss with 50 requests. I tried with Google.com and my default gateway, 0% still. I'll try it again, and I heard we should keep it running in the background while playing games or something? To check? If you say so, I'll try that and see what happens when the game lags.
  19. By the way, this is the architecture thing of my FTTH connection, in case if it tells you anything, idk how to read this complicated stuff. : I'm also going to have to ask them about the sharing thing they did with that box, because I have my suspicion. Because that also happened about a month ago or so.
  20. Alright, mate, I'll do that and keep the forum updated tomorrow with their response. Thanks by the way!
  21. I didn't, because I don't know what to ask them and I will do that in the morning and hopefully they get what I mean because it's kind of frustrating to talk to them too, however, me living in this town where I am, I do not have a choice but to go with them and it worked perfectly okay for about 5-6 months now. One guess of mine is that recently they did set up a new connection of Fibernet in my area, about a few houses away, what they did was that they set up another box kind of thing on my roof since there was a lot of extra wire so they set up the box thing there, and then from that, they gave them a new connection.. I don't know how it works exactly but it's just my guess, if that could pose issues or not, but then if it did, I don't think I should be getting the same amount of speed because it's not exactly sharing a connection. But as I said, I'm not an expert.
  22. Surely, I can turn them off, I tried turning them off and on again, but that doesn't solve it. And no certain time, because it happens all the time, any time of the day! Be it morning/afternoon/night. If I want to game, I have to use my phone's 4G (USB Tethering) to play without lags but that sure does increase my ping but it's desperation making me do it at this point.
  23. Hello there, everyone! So recently for about a month or so, I've been having this crazy issue that I've never had before, it's about my internet lagging when I'm in an online game or on a voice chat service like Discord, So what happens is that, when I'm playing a game or talking to someone on Discord or doing both, out of every 1-2 minutes, I get lag spikes of about 4-5 seconds and it's getting more and more frustrating especially when gaming, if it was just voice chat, I'd put up with that but it's not. I then switch to my 4G to game. The thing is.. my internet remains connected and is fine, it's just that there's about a few seconds lag every minute, randomly. I looked at the issue online and some people have it when they're using WiFi so they fix it by connecting with an Ethernet wire. However, I never use WiFi, the internet is connected by an ethernet cable to my PC. More information about my internet : It's a fibernet (FTTH) connection. My ping is manageable, I play at around 90-120ms on Singapore servers. My connection's speed is Up to 50 Mbps. Yet, it's so damn frustrating lately to even start any online game. No matter the game, it lags at random times for a couple of seconds or so, making everything unplayable. I can't just figure out what's wrong with my connection exactly. (Here's what I've done so far : Re Installed Windows (10) Stopped OneDrive in the background Stopped p2p Windows Update thing, whatever that is according to the reddit thread here : ) Yet, none of that worked in my favor, I'm pretty sure it's my internet's fault but I can't figure out what is it and what should I tell my ISP, because when I told them about the lag, they're saying "If your router has the internet light on then it should work" I read in one post somewhere that it's something about frequency but Idk how I figure that out and how I explain it to the guys working at the ISP office in easy way. Anyone who could try to post any possible solution to this is a life saver! Or at least help me figure out what the hell is going on here exactly. Thanks.
  24. So I think I'll have to go with the given suggestion above! Thank you Herman. (If anyone would like to still add anything to it, let me know by today. Tomorrow afterwards, I'll finalize it!)
  25. Yes, sir. With Monitor, but leave the K/B and Mouse for now, I'll take a Logitech multimedia Combo for now.
