  1. I'll keep this in mind thank you. Unfortunately doing so and the display driver wipe mentioned above have proved to be ineffective. Had some time this weekend so I reseated the RAM and reset the BIOS via removing/replacing the CMOS. Worked initially and after the first reset however after four or five restarts while I was reinstating some BIOS settings I'm back to square one...
  2. Apologies folks I may have jumped the gun. Just performed a full display driver wipe and reinstall via DDU and things seem stable... for now. Will update accordingly, thank you for the suggestions!
  3. As you say, very odd. I think I do have another monitor lying around somewhere. I'll give that ago tomorrow to definitely rule out the monitors being the issue. Yeahhh, hardware hasn't been cleaned for a while It is a rather well dust covered case (fractal r5) so imagine it's relatively clean in there but I should give it a clean! Anything in particular to look out for?
  4. So I feel like this issue has been occurring more and more frequently recently to the point that now, actually being able to boot my PC and have my monitors detect the signal is a rare occurrence and extremely frustrating. I'll try and breakdown the issue below: Monitors: Dell P2421DC + P2421D PC: - GTX 1070 - Motherboard GA-Z77-D3H - Intel i5 3570k - Windows 10 Connecting both monitors via DP -> DP. Old I know but haven't got round to tearing it down for a much needed upgrade. Issue: Power on PC (PC clearly booting with lights and peripherals lighting up) -> Turn on monitors -> Both monitors display `No DP signal from your device` and go into standby. What occurs next is sometimes a very short and sometimes very long game of turning off the PC -> turning off the monitors -> unplugging and reconnecting the DP cables. Try again and again and again. Sometimes this works after once cycle, sometimes I have to unplug the monitors completely and bingo, sometimes it never seems to work and I step away. Each time the steps to resolve the issues seems completely random. Which is what makes this so frustrating. Initially thinking this was a graphics driver issue I: - updated to the latest Nvidia drivers to no avail. - connected via HDMI with the motherboards HDMI socket also with no luck. I've connecting multiple mac notebooks and a HP mini PC to the same ports and with the same cables resulting in perfect functioning every time, all the time. So it's definitely a PC issue. Unsure how to move forward and any advice is greatly appreciated.
  5. Final call for help/advice.
  6. Hi folk's, I haven't replaced my what must be ten year old 1080p monitor yet and I think it's more than about time. Due to corona I'm working from home as a software dev and would also be using the monitors for light gaming (total war, rocket league etc.) For work I'd be hooking the monitors up with a macbrook pro or dell XPS and my gaming pc is currently running an old GTX 1070 which I may upgrade soon. As I'm not really focused on competitive gaming anymore I was thinking > 60Hz isn't necessary but opinions welcome. Currently thinking either two Dell U2719D's or two Dell U2520D's in a dual monitor setup. Any thoughts on dual monitors over an UW such as this LG one, cheers!
  7. I'd take a look at the Ducky keyboard lineup. They may be slightly more expensive than your budget but have a solid simple design and match your description.
  8. Hello everyone, So I'm looking for a 1080p 144Hz monitor and I think I've whittled the choice down between these two. I'm going to be running with a 1070 so wondering whether the extra 100quid for g-sync is worth it? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ViewSonic-XG2401-FreeSync-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B01A0ZRR50 or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Predator-XB241Hbmipr-24-Inch-Monitor/dp/B01AJTVBQI/ref=pd_ybh_a_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G1NYEFZDKD9AW4W5PD9E Will mainly be playing OW and others more casually. Thanks.
  9. Is the lack of DP on the BenQ an issue?
  10. I think the latter is a newer model, but I could be wrong.
  11. I meant to link this asus monitor sorry https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VG248QE-Widescreen-Multimedia-80000000/dp/B00B19T7QC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1480346766&sr=1-1&keywords=Asus+VG248QE
  12. Hi everyone, Looking for a new 1080p 144Hz monitor to run with my 1070. From research these three look like the best options but I'm open to any new suggestions! https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VG248QE-Widescreen-Multimedia-80000000/dp/B00B19T7QC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1480346766&sr=1-1&keywords=Asus+VG248QE https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZOWIE-XL2411-e-Sports-eQualiser-Adjustable/dp/B01H07FV68/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1480327894&sr=8-3&keywords=benq%2Bzowie&th=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-G2460PF-24-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XBEI/ref=sr_1_5?tag=gaming-monitor-20&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1461901857&sr=1-5&keywords=144hz+monitor Thanks!
  13. Thank you for the help everyone! Now I just have to make the dreaded decision between 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz
  14. Hello all, I hope you are having a wonderful day. Now, I plan to do some upgrades this Christmas and I'm looking for some recommendations/suggestions as to what I should do. Here is my current build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FBcDzM 1. GPU: - Currently undecided between a 1060 and 1070, I'm thinking of possibly switching to a 1440p monitor some time next year which leads me to the 1070 but It is a rather large price jump! 2 CPU: - Does this need updating? If so would something such as this suffice https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Core-Skylake-Processor-i5-6500/dp/B010T6CWI2/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1478007333&sr=1-1&keywords=i5 3. RAM: - All I have to mention on this is the fact I will probably upgrade to 2x8GB sticks of RAM. This is mainly a gaming machine and I play a range from mmo's to shooters. Thank you for your suggestions!
